A menu featuring elevated Italian comfort food with local ingredients in a bright, minimalist space.
An absolutely wonderful experience. First time have visited and what a treat. The menu is seasonal. The food was delicious well flavoured and cooked to perfection. Staff are wonderful very welcoming and great knowledge of dishes served and the wine menu. Cant wait to go back.
Great dinner in a relaxed and cosy environment with friendly service. Highly recommended!
The food is AMAZING. SOOO delicious. Came away feeling so satisfied with all my senses tickled.Caramel miso panna cotta - omg!! Delightful. The space itself is v unassuming - i love that too. Lovely staff, relaxed and friendly.
Every time I have been fortunate to have a meal at Semolina, it has always been special.A cosy, intimate and friendly dining experience, the staff are welcoming, attentive and took orders with a smile and quickly brought the food to the table.Everything is made fresh from the cocktails to desserts, and it was all delightful. I would highly recommend coming here for a wonderful meal for any occasion, be it an intimate meal with a partner, or a dinner out with friends and family. It’s well worth booking in advance of for a delightful meal. They change the menu every month so there’s always something new and exciting to experience!
Great food and service, will be making a return visit
Still excellent, great food wonderful cocktails and friendly staff. A little gem.
I took my mother in law here a few weeks ago for her birthday, we both thoroughly enjoyed the fresh fish, service and local refreshments, she used to live all over Europe and said the food we had was some of the best she has ever had. Also love the intimate decoration/atmosphere. Please support this local family run business!! 💖
Not really no. We were rushed. Dishes whipped away from under our noses. The steak was gristly. Nobody asked or appeared to care. Oh well. Its good to try new things from time to time. We have tried this so that you dont have to
Went to Semolina last night with 2 friends and had a properly wonderful meal. All 3 of us loved everything we had. It’s not cheap but it certainly is worth every penny. Great flavour combinations and superb presentation. Attentive waitress and amazing Brighton gin and tonic. Will absolutely return!
Superb! The food is fantastic. Right amount and was delicious. It is easy to miss this restaurant from the outside, as it looks like someones house. Im glad we didnt.
Lovely tasty food, great wine selection, and nice staff. The restaurant is tiny and cosy, perfect for an intimate meal. Oh, and the price is amazing for the style of food you get! Absolute quality stuff for an affordable meal.
Very nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and welcoming, the food was unreal,my beef cooked in perfection,i loved every single thing I tried here ,simply the best …Highly recommended
We had “excellence” for starter“Perfection” as a main, and to complete“Magnificence” for dessert.Truly a superb dining experience, highly recommended.
Outstanding!! Absolutely every element of the place was incredible - friendly service, the plating was beautiful and, most importantly, every course was delicious. The menu changes each month so we can’t wait to come back and try more.😍😍😍
Food and wine was amazing, best weve had in Brighton. The restaurant was small and welcoming, with a friendly relaxed atmosphere. The price was very good value for the quality of the meal, we paid under £80 for two course meal for two and two rounds of drinks.Servers wore masks throughout the meal, which we appreciated. Despite the masks, they still managed to feel approachable and welcoming. Will definitely go back and get some vouchers for family for Christmas!
My favourite restaurant in Brighton. My partner and I have been to Semolina 5 times now and have always been delighted in every way.
Excellent independent restaurant! We were given a warm welcome and looked after very well by the staff. The food was delicious and if I lived in Brighton this would definatly be my "go to" restaurant for a special meal out.
Booked for a Friday evening, this place was a joy to eat at. The staff are very friendly, and the food/drinks we had made for a lovely evening. Will be returning again for sure.
Amazing food and wine, loved it!! Staff are so nice and friendly! Cant wait to go back 100% recommend !!
Amazing food and service! The food was absolutely exquisite and the staff were so nice and friendly. Definitely recommend!!
By far the best restaurant I have ever eaten in, I have eaten in some of the best restaurants in the world and nothing comes close to the food made here its absolutely divine and the customer service is 5 star its a must go..
Weve had a lovely evening with some really lovely food. Flavours were just spot on. ❤❤❤ Will deffo come back after summer to try the new menu.
Nice little restaurant staff very friendly. The food I had was very nice but probably not somewhere I would go again the food is a little to pretentious for my liking.
I think 5 stars are not enough for this place!! Had an amazing meal!! Staff super friendly and attentive! The food looked as good as it tasted!! Absolutely gorgeous!! Really cute little place that if you havent visited already you must to!! Well definitely be going back!! Great Italian red from Venice!
The best Sunday lunch weve had in a long time! All served up by a charming young man from Enfield and a lovely lady from Spain, they really made us feel welcome. We highly recommend this hidden gem.
We have ate here many times with the children and we cant wait to return. The staff are always very friendly and welcoming. The food is fantastic and they have a lovely selection of wines. We are looking forward to returning
Amazing food, lovely menu which changes, seasonal and local food. A superb little Brighton gem. We loved it and cant wait to go back. Thanks very much, Lisa x
If I could give more stars I would. The food was so delicious I did not want the meal to finish. Such a comfortable feeling to the restaurant, and the staff so friendly it felt like dining out at friends. Our non alcoholic (we were drivingcocktail was a very nice surprise. We will be back soon.
3 of us had dinner and really enjoyed the superb food and friendly service. The highlight was definitely the sirloin and shin of beef which was perfectly cooked and supremely tender. Simple comfortable venue well chosen and priced wine list and certainly somewhere I would highly recommend and return.
I don’t normally go to bed with this buzzing feeling of happiness therefore I need to share how wonderful was my all embracing experience at this place. I had dinner at this place for my first time on Friday 8th. November 2018 reservation for 2 at 8:15pm.Off to London road in a nice and quiet road called Baker Street, here you can find this little diamond. We get seated swiftly and we ordered from what it seemed a refined menu yet non conventional and easy to understand. The wine was delicious and married quite well with the fish dish I ordered. Perhaps I would have preferred more the a couple of choices of red or white sold by glass. The waitress was the most exquisite person in the restaurant. I went totally with her suggestion and “bang” the food was something out of this world. I had plaice on a bed of green and hazelnut. The commixture of flavours literally exceeded my expectations. Because I don’t want brag too much about it I can only say that it cost me £14 and I would have been happy to pay £35 for something so tasty, unique, alternative and well presented. Dessert was equal standard, serving chestnut parfait with flawless buckwheat tuiles and plums I choose this dessert as it reminded me of Chef Henri Brosi at the Dorchester Hotel in London, he used to do a similar dessert with chestnuts. I believe that chestnut is a very difficult ingredient to make it likeable and the chef at Semolina totally nailed it. Overall this is one of the restaurant going into my top 10 favourite in Brighton. Thanks beyond word for a looking after my table and turning a Friday evening into an excellent one.
This is simply a great place to eat and spend time.Food is carefully and lovingly thought out and prepared. Everything is near perfect and very reasonably priced. It would excel anywhere in the world and I’ve been around the block a few times ;)Staff are lovely... accommodating and don’t ask you to make way for other punters when you’re done. Vibe is relaxed but this is a serious kitchen that should be respected. All in all a fantastic experience that all my guests enjoyed! I don’t like to watch films or visit restaurants a second time but would not hesitate to return to Semolina or recommend. Top notch.
These guys can cook! Every dish I ate was faultless and comparable or better in terms of quality, presentation and tastiness of more pricey restaurants in Brighton. The staff were so warm and welcoming and the atmosphere was cosy, intimate and relaxing. We will be back for the monthly menu changes!
Visited on a Tuesday night for a special celebratory meal with my fiancé. The food was fabulous - fresh, beautifully presented and all absolutely delicious. They have a short, imaginative menu which changes every month. I thought the food was excellent value for money as was the booze! The service was spot on - friendly, relaxed and chatty - but without being intrusive or too informal. They accommodated my request for a little ‘surprise’ for my other half on our arrival and made the whole evening really special
Incredible! Loved it so much, the staff were so so lovely and the perfect amount of attentive and chilled! Really friendly and the food was amazing! I would say better than terre a terre (I’m a veggie), it was delicious. I started with the crisps and whipped feta with pickled onion and my partner had the squid and then followed by the ricotta which ide strongly recommend and my partner had the trout also delicious and then to end off we share the brownie and mint ice cream! Great food, great staff and reasonable price for a treat meal : thank you!
This was a great restaurant, food was delicious and varied, staff were very friendly and helpful. Was one of the best dining I had had in Brighton. Highly recommended.
Excellent meal. Enjoyed every mouthful of each 3 courses. Love the seasonality and use of local ingredients. Personally feel the ambience could do with a little tweaking as it felt very dark and quiet with no music. Candles maybe? Lovely staff but our server didnt seem totally clued up on the menu but may have been new.
Great food and staff. Venison steak was superb.
really nice food and lovely people! we visited this lovely place for my boyfriends birthday. They made our day so special with amazing service and delightful food.
I love this place. Amazing food and the staff are fantastic. This place is a hidden gem, you feel really looked after. Its a five star experience from me.
Went to Semolina for their October Best menu which was Seabasss or Duck plus winr for £20. We tried both and they were delicious. The dessert we had was walnut tart. The service was great too but the lady serving us was quite pushy with us ordering more wine which was rather frustrating. Everything else was spot on!
This was simply one of the best meals we have had for a long time.We were a little uninspired walking to the restaurant from our hotel as this is not the greatest of areas in Brighton but do not let that deter you as this place is a hidden gem. From the moment you walk in and are greeted by Linda you have a feeling that they care about everything they do.From our cocktails to the super food and service this was top notch and extremely good value for the money. If we lived in Brighton we would visit on a regular basis as this place deserves to do very well.
Four of us returned to Semolina for another delicious and innovative meal. Every dish is full of unusual and interesting flavours and created by the master chef . We were greeted by the smiling and friendly Linda and charming Martha . We will of course keep returning. Thank you for such a super meal
We went for a late lunch booking . The food and service was second to none. We said it is the best food / wine and service we’ve had for some years.cant wait to rebook( next week thank you.See you soon Paul & carol.
Lovely atmosphere and excellent food. The service was impeccable.
Absolutely wonderful place with great service. Definitely try the monkfish and £1 cocktail of the month with proceeds going to a charity. Win win! Although menu changes weekly so you may not get the same meal you had previously. Either way, highly recommended!
Just had a wonderful lunch from the set menu. Perfectly cooked mussels followed by meltingly delicious belly pork. The wine is always great and the glasses beautifully polished. Classy and unpretentious.
My new favourite restaurant in Brighton. Try the sun blushed tomato and red roasted pepper butter with the mini loaves of bread. Im not usually one for bread but I want the recipe to this butter! I had the beef with toms and potato which was cooked to perfection for my taste. Followed by the roasted peaches on French toast with marscapone ice cream, which was divine. Also shared an English cheese board and polished off a bottle of the dessert wine which was lush. Attentive, genuine service from Lucien and Linda made for a truly lovely evening. Definitely worth a return visit, highly recommended!
An excellent restaurant, its obvious that the chefs are well trained and have real talent. All the staff are very welcoming and professional and always welcome my family and I when we are lucky enough to go! I wish you every success for the future!
The best restaurant I have been into Brighton. The food is fantastic, great atmosphere and lovely staff. It is the type of place that even if I see dishes that have ingredients I do not usually like, I am more then happy to order here as I know it will be delicious, the chef is that good.I love food and often travel the country to visit 1 and 2* Michelin establishments and this was honestly better then the majority of them.I used say ginger pig/fox was my go to nice restaurant in Brighton but semolina blew them out of water for me. Cannot recommend more.
I was taken to this lovely restaurant on Saturday evening by some friends who raved about it and we were not disappointed. The food was simply amazing and better than some of the top london restaurants I have frequented. The chef really is a star and I hope to be back there again soon.
