Seeburgstrasse 53-61, 6006 Luzern, Switzerland, Luzern
In a converted 16th-century mansion across the street from Lake Lucerne, this genteel hotel offering Pilatus Mountain views is a minute's walk from a bus stop and 1 km from the Swiss Museum of Transport.Refined rooms offer free Wi-Fi, TVs, and tea and coffeemaking equipment. Upgraded rooms add balconies with lake views, and some have minifridges. Suites add sitting areas and/or whirlpool tubs.A breakfast buffet is free. There are 2 airy restaurants offering lake views, a seasonal terrace and a rustic, alpine-style eatery, as well as a lakefront bar. Other amenities include an ornate ballroom, a garden and a boathouse.
Beautiful hotel on the lake Lucerne in Switzerland. There is a bus stop specially for the hotel. Hotel is very comfortable and food is very nice, though a bit expensive. Location is perfect as city center and shops are just 10 mins by bus from the hotel. Also one can chose to walk on the water front Boulevard and promenade from city water front to the hotel water front. Nice bar and restaurant right across the Hotel
Good option near to city Good view
Wonderful view of Lake Lucerne with Mt Pilatus right opposite. Great breakfast, nice layout with view.
I cant give more than 1 start to this hotel. Very bad curomer service. Rooms are not clean the blankets are smilling bad. The toilets has nothing other than soap no slipper nothings else. The parking cost 15 CHF per day although it is not in the center.I dont recomend this hotel to anyone
Very wonderful location, its in a very nice lake spot. Terrace is in great view at the lake, would be great to have lunch or dinner there.Rooms big enough and some have lake view.Service is good as well as the staff.I recommend it.
Staff at front desk were unkind and rude when we arrived. Rooms are small for very high price.
this hotel was so bad and they were racist and they charged us more than what we were agreed to and the service was very bad
One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. Bad service and racist reception
I wouldnt recommend much this hotel. The rooms are tiny (even for European standards), theyre old and in need of maintenance. The bathrooms and their fixtures look like they pre-date WW1. Cleanliness is not great either. The staff at the reception were really unhelpful and not kind at all.The breakfast buffet and Sunset bar were the only good things
Lovely hotel in peaceful lakeside spot on the outskirts of the busy city. Free bus pass provided (bus stop right outside hoteland takes about 8 minutes into city centre. Excellent buffet breakfast (hot and coldcatering for all tastes (vegan, etc). Bespoke hot breakfasts on offer. Eating outside on the terrace with the lake view opposite absolutely wonderful. Staff very polite and accommodating.
Top location and breakfast (on the terrace), mostly friendly staff. The location is top, direct and fantastic view of the lake and the impressive Pilatus massif. The breakfast buffet was really tasty and varied. The bus stop is almost directly in front of the hotel, so you are very well connected to the city center (and the free ticket for Lucerne). If you want, you can also use the almost continuous lakeside promenade to get to old Lucerne (plan about 40-50 min for this).A small note: Unfortunately, the hotel room heats up to the maximum in (more thansummer temperatures - despite the awning and sun protection curtain. The fan provides a little relief. This rarely happens, but beware of chain-smoking room neighbors: everything is drawn quickly and directly onto your own balcony, since the balconies are not really shielded from each other. As an aside: On the Seeburg site, on the far left, is the old "Jesuitenhof" with its buildings Schönegg, Alpenblick, Rigiblick and the Gardenia Hall. It is a great pity that this lovely historic villa with a beautiful filigree glass front / winter garden seems completely abandoned and rotting. It is probably currently used as a hotel warehouse. It would be a real gem if this "lost place" was spruced up a bit.
No phone to call the receptionNo parkingNo help with the luggageNo bathrobe & other basic stuffIdk how this is a 4-star hotel
Nice hotel right on Lake Luzern (across the streetand next to a bus stop making it very easy to get to the city center. Staff was friendly and provided free bus passes for our stay. The hotel also has a sunset bar with great drinks and ok food. We did not try the restaurant inside the hotel itself. The room was decently sized, no AC but a fan was enough to keep us cool through the night and we visited at the end of June. Would definitely return!
Nice view and location, but food was unfortunately underwhelming.
Absolutely the worst experience i’v ever had! AC in the room was broken and they refused ti change our room or fix the problem and they just gave us a fan as if it’s a solution! What a joke! We were promised a view to the forest and instead we were looking at a building all night 😀 the attitude of the staff was absolutely rude specially a girl called Shanne! I have never dealt with someone with such aggressive attitude! It is not a good environment for families. Would never repeat the experience.
First room allocated was far too small. Hot water wasnt always hot. With a group and choice for desert was only ice cream.Staff average.Fantastic location on the lake though.
Great experience staying here for two nights, the staff at the reception desk were super friendly, rooms were great. Its right by the road but the soundproofing is great, were not bothered by the sound at all. The sunset bar across the road is amazing in good weather. A few minutes out of the city by bus, but the hotel provides free public transport so it was very easy to explore the city as well.
Breathtaking view. Very confortable. Free ticket for a boat trip and bus to the city Centre included . Near many attractions.
Very bad service. We waited outside to order a drink and I had to go inside and ask if I could order. My request was refused… the waitress said she was not taking any more orders outside even tough were more people outside having drinks…But anyway she could actually have told us since the moment we arrived.
Awesome rooms, excellent service, good breakfast, scenic view!!! Really nice idea to stay in this hotel: one part is 3 stars, another is 4 stars. Really nice resto is outdoor
Beautiful location on Lake Lucerne. Quiet, excellent bus service right outside into the city. Great view of mountains.
The view alone is absolutely breathtaking. Make sure to book a room with a view of the lake because it truly is amazing! The hotel itself was good value for the price.
We were facing the beautiful lake. The room was big and nice. Nice balcony. We loved lucerne so much. Such a memorable and lovely stay. And thanks to all the lobby staff who were so kind to help us with all our queries about going around and went the extra mile to print out for us the details on top of explaining to us.
We are very happy we chose to stay here. We stayed in a lake view room and loved it. The hotel has everything you would want and has a lakeside bar across the street too. Don’t let the fact that the hotel isn’t in the city centre deter you, as the bus stop is literally out the front door and the bus runs all day/night. 5 min ride to the city and it’s very convenient.
Great hotel that allowed us to quickly reach downtown Luzern. The breakfast is great and also the service at the bar even in the late evening. All the staff is great and deserves a good kudos. Beautiful view over the lake if you chose the room with front view.
Lovely hotel and services. The breakfast was excellent. The reception staff were exceptional. They made our stay and our weekend at my sons wedding run stress free.
Perfect place to spend a long weekend. Great views from the hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Comfortable beds. Lots to see. Easy to use public transport
Family of 4 stayed for 3 nights in July in 2 adjoining rooms. We stayed directly above the entrance to the old building and had 2 balconies over looking the picturesque lake Luzern. Spent a few hours sitting on the balcony watching a storm come in over the Alps and early in the morning watch the rowers on the lake. A magnificent view.We had no issue with the heat, the ventilation was working in the room, as other have had. With the door open there was some traffic noise as expected but with the doors closed it was quiet. Our tea and coffee was rarely touched until the last night but there was a good selection of tea.Our rooms were clean, a good size, balcony was great pick too.The bus stop, same name as the hotel, is right at the front of the hotel and runs every 15 minutes. We were given a free bus pass but simply got on the bus and 15 minutes later we were in the city centre, such a great idea to get around. The evening meals were good, the beer and wine also nice while overlooking the lake and the children loved the hot chocolate. The breakfast buffet was good, my wife would have liked to see Muesli on the breakfast bar. There was Bircher muesli however, children again loved the hot chocolate and selection of pastries. The breads and other offerings were kept full and the waitress did a good job in keeping it full while any requests we had were dealt with quickly and with a smile.Staff were professional, courteous and very helpful. If I were to complain about anything during this stay it was the hot water to the shower in the morning sometimes took a couple of minutes.I would recommend the hotel, especially the rooms with a balcony, as we really enjoyed our brief stay.
Hotel is ok, but expensive. A.C not working properly. Had to open windows as feeling Hot in evening.House keeping service not good. Have to request twice for filling up tea/coffee sachets. Convenient location. Scenic view outside the hotel is awesome.
We stayed outside of the main city since the price of downtown hotels was very expensive. This turned out to be an excellent decision. It was quieter and only 6 stops from the main train station (10 mins). We were given a bus pass for free when we checked in so we never had to pay or worry about having the right money available. The rooms were a tad on the small size but we never really were in them so it did not matter to us. They were clean and up to date. The breakfast was good the and Anthonys formal restaurant was excellent but expensive by American standards. Service was excellent. Directly across the street which was a nice surprise was the Sunset Bar/Club-owned by the Hotel, I believe. It was a large outdoor garden bar on the water that surved drinks and only pizza. The pizza was very good - $20-$27 for an individual sized pizza. Funny how expensive life can be in another country. This outdoor bar was busy but not full since it was so beautiful and relaxing. You could tell locals flocked here. Really spectacular place. Front desk very welcoming and helpful. This is a professionally run hotel
Overall it was very good experience for us. Staffs were very polite and always ready to help for anything. The view from the room was excellent as well. Its well connected from Lucern station and hardly 10 mins from bus. Everything was perfect !!
Great location, right opposite to the Lake Luzern. Just 10 mins walk from Transport Museum. Bus stop itself in name of hotel. They have also decorated the room with flower petals which made honeymoon more special. Really appreciate the gesture. A true SWISS QUALITY hotel.
Great view! Great value! I would definitely came back again for a longer period.Convinient ! Bus stop is right next to the hotel. Rooms are decent size and clean. Preggy wife was really happy we got a room with lakeview
Hotel is located at a decent location with everything accessible via a bus which has stops just outside the hotel. The room view was wonderful with balcony provided. There should be facilities for temperature control when it gets hot such as fan or cooling facilities. The staff was very helpful (in particular Sebastiento help us with our heat and warm weather problems and made sure our stay was comfortable. Breakfast was nice but would have loved more options for eggs in particular.
Booked a room with the lake view. Always had a great start of the day with really amazing view. Breakfast menu was also good for both vegetarian and non vegetarian. Bus stop right outside the hotel gives very good connectivity to Lucerne train station. Bus number 24 to train station runs every 15 minutes.
The absolute best customer service I’ve had in a while. They were very accommodating and friendly; took time to help with a special request and were thorough in their explanation or the city sites/bus transportation/food options/etc. I stayed in multiple hotels the days prior in different countries and this was the best experience by far.Rooms were beautiful! The staff was kind and upgraded us to a better view since there were minimal people staying in the hotel.Breakfast was free and had lots of options. Parking was not covered, but was easy to access and allowed plenty of room for all vehicles.Bus picks up right in front of the hotel every 15 minutes, so although not walking distance to the downtown area, you are only about 3 stops away (takes less than 7 minutes). The hotel also gives you a free bus pass for the duration of the stay. The view from the hotel is worth staying away from the city. The hotel had a restaurant right next door that served fondue (and other itemsand had a great local touch of decor and taste. There is also a restaurant/bar in the hotel lobby.Overall, a GREAT experience. We originally were only going to stay one night, but extended for an additional night because we were so impressed. Will stay there again if we ever return to the area.
We had a lake facing view with Alps in the background. The room was cosy with everything available. The staff was very cordial and helpful. The only issue was with the breakfast. The food items were same everyday. I got bored after eating same food for 4 days. Except that everything was amazing.
This boutique hotel is where my husband had a work event and my daughter and I stayed, daughter in her own room. The rooms are unique themed and very nice as well as clean. The restaurant has typical Swiss food and we did enjoy it. We will visit again when in Lucern.
I was celebrating my honeymoon with my wife. The staff was really really nice, they even put rose pedals and chocolate on our beds with a handwritten note waiting for us when we got to the room! The staff was also extremely helpful in figuring out the best day trips for us to do and they even packed us food for us to take along. The hotel itself is really beautiful with a stunning view of the lake. Only thing lacking was that the rooms do not have AC.
I stayed here for a business trip. Lovely hotel overlooking the Lake. Woke up to a glorious view. Clean and spacious rooms. Danielle and Sandro were exceptionally friendly and helpful at the front desk. Thanks!
Hi,we stayed in your hotel 20 - 22 August 2018, room no. 404.Overall you have a good hotel with an excellent lake view, but you seriously need to rennovate the place. The bathroom is so outdated that the shower floor is chipped at places. the toilet room desperately needs to be modernised, it quite uncomfortable to have the bidet at the opposite end of the commode. The balcony curtain in our room was torn.the overall look of the hotel seems OLD. Even your reception area is so bland.. looks like a hole in the wall.no complains on the service though..your reception and service staff was excellent.
Arrival was great, love Morris, very informative and pleasant. First night in a triple, 5th floor room above the entrance. The room faces the sunset, which warms the room even more, without adequate drapes, too hot in summer and too noisy with a wedding. Had to have windows open for air and the wedding guests were so loud into the early morning. Requested a lower room in am, so we packed everything, brought to front desk to be changed to a lower floor. Arriving back late in the day, found exact room with only 1 floor lower. Not very helpful, but requested another fan, which was delivered promptly. Breakfast adequate, staff friendly, would visit again, but not in July.
It was ok. There was no AC - just a small fan which was not adequate at night. Our room was right over the trash dumpster so we couldnt open the window. The front desk would not loan us an adapter as other hotels had done but wanted to charge us. We did not find out until day 2 that the hotel offers a free bus pass so we had already purchased passes on day 1. It was much further from Luzern than I thought and there was nothing to do near the hotel. I thought there was an airport shuttle which is why I selected the hotel, but there was not.
Spectacularly sprawled out on the shores of Lake Lucerne, this hotel breaths ancient luxury and splendour. The staff, the food, the views and the atmosphere make for a wonderful stay. Rooms are sublime and extravagant! A special mention has to go out the event manager Uwe Peter: super talented and wonderful!
I stayed with my wife for three nights very recently, and we really enjoyed.Hotels location is just amazing (near to centre and just on lake), with mesmerising view from the room.Room (at least in which i stayed in :), is very good and comfortable. But with just one small miss, we felt bit of dissatisfaction which i have communicated to Hotels team. I hope that shall be taken care for any guest henceforth.
Lovely hotel, very pleasant staff, great location by the lake and the room with a balcony was perfect to watch the sun go down over the lake. Free parking next door to the hotel. The food was superb a little bit pricey but its probably what you would expect to pay in Switzerland. Highly recommended, we would certainly stay there again.
Nice location and great views of the lake and surrounding area. The staff is friendly, polite and caring. Free bus tickets to town, help with food reservations and general information. Our room with the lake view was nice.
Cute hotel right on the water. A five minute ride into town on the local bus Which stops every 15 minutes in front of the hotel. The rooms were quite Pleasant. The bathrooms could use a bit of updating and some cleaning. Otherwise everything was very nice. The breakfast was exceptional and very reasonably priced.
The hotel self is very nice/clean with beautiful lake view! the receptionists are all nice and patient with explaining bus schedule etc. I would have given 5 star review if I did not purchase the breakfast. The breakfast buffet costs 15CHF which is fair to me for the first day. The second day I went back and noticed that the food was much less than the day before (a lot empty trays, only bread, rice and cereal served). So I asked the staff the reason (I thought they simply hadnt cooked yet)and his answer shocked me. He said because there was group of international travelers having breakfast now and they only paid discount price for breakfast through travel agency, so the hotel are taking away the expensive food for now!!! I said how about the customers like me who paid full amount and had to eat "discount food" because the hotel hided good food. he said there is nothing he can do, just wait until the group leave and then he said he would not know how long the group would stay.....
Excellent hotel with extremely courteous staff! Lake view rooms are just incredible! Rooms have done quaint antiquated touches, but thats not out dated, its part of the charm. Sitting on the balcony having a quiet evening with a view of the lake is just sublime... And every once in a while you hear the mesmerizing roar of a supercharged Ferrari or Porsche!
