Second Street Comfort Food & Bar - Western restaurant in Hong Kong, Hong Kong
Ordered the huge steak on their specials menu. Overcooked, cheap quality meat, and lots of fat. Service was great.
Friendly service good enough food but pricing is a bit high
I’ve come quite a number of times but man the service we got tonight was amazing! (Food was great as usual... always up to standard. )Would really like to commend the servers tonight. The waiter guy of our table (pity he didn’t introduce himself... i guess he’s relatively new? not seen him around before...proactively went out of his way to make my mini birthday surprise for my friend so much better.I asked for a cake and a candle, he offered to have “happy birthday” written on a plate, and asked for my friend’s name. He made sure it was right by asking me to write it down for him. Then, him and another lady turned down the music, turned off the fan, brought out the cake singing happy birthday for her. He also asked if we would want him to take photos for us.It was meant to be just a cake and a candle. It turned out perfect. Those were just simple gestures, but it means a lot that he was so proactive and offered to do things I never asked for, just so my friend and I would have a better experience! If management of the restaurant sees this, I’d like you to know you have an amazing waiter.
Nice Vibe, good location right on the second street.
I knew this cafe through eatigo and then I keep going back once in a while. Very friendly staffs and the foods are also good (especially the beef spaghetti thing), the baked fish is also recommended. Slightly overpriced if you don’t use the eatigo discount but I’m sure most people do!
Booked via Eatigo app, received 40% off. Happy hour til 9pm which was nice. Not packed and the staff was friendly, the service was good too. The food was so average tho, AVERAGE.
Good taste but a bit slow. Need to wait for 20-30mins.
delicious grill fresh sea bass with surprising low price!
Their portion is really big. If come by yourself, may hard to finish more than a portion.I ordered Lamb shank. And I love it.Seems their weekday lunch deal also nice, if only my office around this area...Will come again to try other menu.
We came for happy hour hoping to make an evening if it but had to leave pretty early. We ordered a very underwhelming and overpriced burata, which I couldnt finish because I think it was actually old. The happy hour price was okay, but not for half a glass of pretty terrible wine. The waitstaff was nice, but it was hard getting basics (like 2 forks and 2 plates for 2 people sharing one dish).
Chill place. Good food. Cosy decor. Nice waitresses. Good location.
Quality is acceptable but it is a bit pricey.
Great food, 40% off thru Eatigo, and happy hour drinks discount till 9pm.
Great food, welcoming staffs and lovely atmosphere. Really enjoyed the time here.
I have come here for dinner a couple of times and it is a decent place in Sai Ying Pun to sit down for some food and drinks. The food is variable, some dishes are better than others. The oxtail dish, ribs, goat cheese salad are my favourites but the pasta dishes arent so great. Sometimes the meat dishes are cooked too dry. Overall, it doesnt feel like good value for moneyHowever, the atmosphere of the restaurant is really pleasant, with cozy lighting and glass panels that make it feel open and spacious. The staff here are nice too.
Great food and staff. Been there only once and had a beef burger there and I loved it! The location is great for family of taking MTR or driving to there and park outside. The space is great for big group of friends, families, couples. There is a park right outside the restaurant where kids can play together. The restaurants WIFI is very good. I was watching videos and downloaded some apps and it went pretty good.Tips: Please use Eatigo apps to make a booking and you will have almost everything 50% off from the menu. (drinks are not includedbecause the price of the food can be quite expensive for some people.
Came here with a 50% discount, which was lucky as the food was not worth the original menu pricing. My chicken parmagiani was quite dry and tough and only made edible by the pumpkin mash to moisten it. Partners salad was good. Food was quite slow to come and I overheard a diner on an adjacent table complain that their Eggs Benedict was "stone cold". Try it if you get a discount through eatigo but dont pay full price.
There is a 50% off deal on Eatigo, very good value for money after discount. I’ve tried different dishes over time. I’d say i have very mixed comments about this restaurant. Some dishes are consistently good. The grilled sea bass, lamb shank are among the few I’ve tried and liked. The chicken parmigiana though, was very very dry, the breading were soggy also. The parma Ham bruschetta, the ham was also dry, and not as fresh. The restaurant should improve its quality consistency.
Great food. Great atmosphere. Dishes can tend to be a tad bit expensive. Would recommend going with an Eatigo booking if youre looking to save some money. This place is quite close to the MTR exit as well. All in all amazing.
One word: solid. Service is nice, cocktails are cheap and food is great. We took advantage of an OpenRice deal so we paid only 50% of the total price, so for that price it was worth it. For the full price though? Maybe a bit too much.
The dishes are reasonably delicious
A comfortable place to relax and enjoy the meal in the sunny afternoon. The staff are great, very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended!
Our first time at this restaurant. The whole seabass was nice, but both the lamb shank and chicken wrapped in bacon were overdone. Mushroom risotto was nice. However, the service was poor. We ordered starters and main courses. All the main courses arrived before starters. We ordered a bottle of red wine which arrived really warm. This was subsequently changed after we brought it to the attention of the staff. All in all not an impressive experience.
Reasonable priced lunch set
Great western cuisine! Romantic and wonderful environment with good service, lots of customers to have dinner or happy hour for chatting. We ordered lots of dishes and highly recommended the lamb with rosemary sauce, prawn with spicy sauce and brownies with ice-cream. We all enjoyed a lot in this dining
Food is delucious, which I recommend quinoa and beetroot salad and grilled seabass as a main course, because they serve whole fish. Serving whole fish is not usual but it is more decent.Service is good, all servers are friendly and patient.However......the dining environment which is not ideal or even spoiled the dining satisfaction. Because they placed tooooo many table in the restautant. I think it is more crowded than dining in McDonald. And too many customers caused the restaurant very noisy and stuffy. If you just wanna have a quick dinner, it might be a good choice for you.
Our party of 5 had an average/poor experience at Comfort Food. Our first impression was: empty restaurant / nobody to say hello upon arrival / we were blocked from seating ourselves due to vendors delivering and leaving things in the middle of the path way / took far too long for someone to seat us / no menus given and table unmade once we were shown our table. We ended up getting frustrated with the wait so went to get our own menus. On top of this, other people were getting served and given water who arrived after us, even after we had been nodded at by the waitress that she knew we wanted to order. By now, we were unimpressed with the service and getting quite frustrated.Anyway, the food. I chose a salad priced $168 and was pretty horrified when it came and I received a portion that would have fit on a side plate. My lunchmates all immediately asked if I had enough food as it looked like a starter portion. The Burrata was good - very delicious and creamy, but sadly I didnt think this and some meagre salad leaves were enough to justify the cost. The rest of our food was unremarkable and pretty average. Nothing poor but nothing that stood out our that was executed with anything memorable. After 1pm, more waitresses came who seemed far more capable and friendly.Overall, an unspectacular eatery.
We had the Lamb Shank, Bacon wrapped chicken, Grilled fish, Pasta a la vodka, eggplant salad, Tiramisu was all very good. Tasty. Will go back again to try other dishes.Have been back a few times. Bartender makes a great Margarita on ice.Penne Vodka is really good. We order it every time were there.
Food quality is acceptable. But it took ages to arrive, the beer became warm after the wait and the desserts arrived before the mains.Staff are friendly and polite though.
Great place to hang out on the weekends. Grab a drink and let your kids (and/or dogrun around in front of the restaurant. Although there is a street fairly close theres enough space for the kids to roam around - of course, as long as you keep an eye (or twoon them :-). Very kind staff and swift service. A favorite place for the families living at Island Crest.
food is great! atmosphere is good too! price is very competitive after the eatigo 50% off offer!
Lovely food and good service. Very crowded even on weekdays. All full house already at 8p full of locals and westerners. Happy hours until 9p so beers and wines are still cheap for dinner time. Quite noisy when full house but also very nice dining atmosphere. A restaurant worth trying, especially with eatigo discount. They do great discount nearly all day.
First visit here, can here with the eatigo discount.Love this place. The restaurant is in a great location, good ambience, a wide selection of food and beverages, and the staffs were very attentive and nice.Would come back again.
The burger is quite nice but the porkchop itself is abit low quality. The dessert is chocolate brownie with movenpick ice cream on top, cost 10$addition to set lunch. The price is acceptable.
Nice and easy place to just chill and enjoy good food on a lazy weekend! The sea bass is a must try from the restaurant and their mozzarella cheese salad is also very good!I would come back here for another weekend brunch!
Went there for dinnerLamb shank is niceTiramisu is excellent and really satisfactoryThe place is a bit tight and crowded tho
Excellent service and good food
Great place and ambience. However the interior design makes the sounds trapped in the room. Better to have some windows place
One of those places that have everything to be great... But it falls short of expectations. Mainly due to a very sterile and distracted service. The location as well as the environment and the menu. Price is in the average for the standing. If just you didnt get that feeling that you are bothering when you ask to order.....
Have frequented the place on multiple occasions and it never fails to please me. Definitely one of my favorite spots in Sai Ying Pun for good food and drinks and good vibes. The staffs are always super super nice, have been served by different people across the year and the service is consistently on standards.Would definitely reccomend the pork ribs, gnocchi (not pictured). Happy hour drinks start at HKD48 only and is amazing!
Nice place for a lunch and dishes well prepared and tasted great. Concurred with others that this place is a better bet than those on high street. Staff were very friendly too!
Clams in claims linguini had a fetid smell and had clearly turned bad. Requested a new dish. Lamb shank: Could tell the sauce in the lamb shank has a lot of MSG since both my friend and I are allergic to MSG and we had a reaction shortly after finishing the lamb. The prawns: not fresh at all, could well be frozen prawns. Regrettable dining experience overall and highly overpriced. The only remedy if I must say is that our server was polite and attentive.
Nice atmosphere for Saturday lunch/brunch. Recommend booking ahead because it was still busy at 2pm/ 2:30pm.
A wonderful restaurant with relax environment, GREAT food and most important .... the very friendly and professional service from the staff.Simple decoration, but stylish & modern. If you want to just have a drink, high chairs are available just at the entrance.Meatballs and the ribs are so juicy, and you must enjoy the pizza once served, hot & crispy! LOVE it.... must try more food next time!
Good lunch and brunch. Very helpful and friendly staffs. The environment is very nice and relaxing which is great for hanging out with friends or eating alone. Also the price is very reasonable compared to the places in high street which is 2 streets above. I come to this place for some food or a drink whenever I have a day off :)
Great ambience, delicious food. It was fully occupied when I went, and service was slow, probably because of the same. Recommend the Spicy Minced Beef and Onion Flatbread for people who like spicy food. Lamb Shank was also nice.
Great place to chill and enjoy drinks or a meal. Nicely tucked away on Second St away from most of the hustle and bussle. A good place for a casual date or just grabbing drinks with friends. Food seemed reasonably priced and the menu selection was decent. Only downside was the heat lamp they were using indoors which made it a bit sweltering even in the winter.
Comfortable place most of the time. Food taste is very mediocre, besides, the so called freshly squzzed juice turned out fresh from the can. The menu should state what it is. Service is attentive but not overly intrusive.
Great dishes can enjoy with drinks.
Attentive table service with high quality food, dont miss the sea bass and linguini with clams, they are awesome!
