Sebastians Market - Takeaway in London, Canada
Very dirty, unclean place overall. I feel like this place gets a pass just because it’s the covent garden market. It’s shameful at the best. Walk around and you’ll see dust and dirt everywhere.
So many great shops and delicious food!
Everything is good quality but very pricey. Parking validation is great if you just want to stop in, free for 30 mins
Beautiful inside and outside. The smells are heavenly. Plenty of places to grab a bite and sit.
I love havaris produce and kleibers deli the best produce and if you want the best kielbasa trust kleibers none better pleasant and knowledgeable staff
Very warm and friendly vendors! From eateries to florists, from artists to produce sellers, its a wonderful tapestry of people coming together to make you feel good (even good about spending your money). Relax and walk through the market like you would do in an exhibition show. Whether you visit or frequent the market make a stop for some spicy cuisine at New Delhi Deli or drop by for some hot soup around the corner! Oh, dont forget the upstairs! You can find good sittings there too. Enjoy! :)
Stopped by on a visit, on a Saturday and the market was alive. Great selection of vendors, hot food and drinks at the market. A lot of variety in the offerings inside as well. A great spot for fresh market finds.
Had a very enjoyable afternoon exploring all the food and varied kiosks. There was something awesome around every corner. Recommend as a place to go if visiting London. No photos, sorry!!
I come from a small town that has a farmers market. Now my home town is roughly 85%, farm land and the market showcases a lot of them and talk about fresh ill tell ya what!So someone told me London had a market! Being in the middle of a city I thought yup this atta be funny....then I saw the size of it! Now looks can be deceiving as I thought it looked big from the outside, once inside i was awe struck with the amount of venders , plus out back there even more venders with fresh produce. I now do slot of shopping there it gives me a bit of that back home feeling!Take it from a small town country boy, this market is small town friendly with a twist of city added, perfect f it r the forest city....
This place is great, really easy to go to. 1 hour validated underground parking for weekdays, 2 hours on weekends. About 10 restaurants inside with same number of shops, give or take. Tried three restaurants and each was amazing
An amazing experience. The farmers market was great. Lovely vendors and great conversations. We got some fresh fruits and tried bibimbop for the first time.
One of the most charming and well-varied markets Ive ever been to!Theres food from just about every culture (all of it made fresh, either on site or brought in--the samosa seller, who was sold out when I was there, happily showed me how she folded them); gifts and trinkets from many corners of the world (brought back from India, Africa, Japan, etc); handmade masterpieces made by the shopkeepers and their artist friends (and every single owner and artist could tell me the stories and inspirations behind the pieces, which I loved); as well as the most well stocked farmers market Ive ever seen (fruits and veggies, meats, dairies, cakes and breads, ready made meals, teas and jams, honey, and more).Every single shopkeeper was so knowledgeable and so passionate about their merchandise. Every single one. And theyre not in your face about it; they only told me about things Id been looking at for a while and was obviously interested in. They were happy to answer all questions and there were smiles on every face I saw. I remember the young gentleman who was selling candles and crystals and such; our eyes met and he just lit up, not at all in a "maybe Ill make a sale" kind of way, but in a "maybe someone is interested in what I do" kind of way. I never intended originally to go into that store, but I just had to go and say hi. I didnt get anything, but I believe he and I both had a great time chatting.Yes, things are expensive, but not ridiculously so. $5 for a card, $30-40 for a scarf, $10-20 for a box of chocolates, that kind of thing. And thats because this is the livelihood of the wonderful people I just described. Its up to you whether its worth it to you, but it was worth it to me.The afternoon I spent here was my favourite part of London, and one of the best times Ive had in recent years!
The weekly market in the courtyard is a wonderful event with great vendors whom are all local. Farm fresh eggs, gluten free bakery along with fresh vegetables. The vendors inside are on another level entirely.
It has very good stores with everything very natural
Absolutely amazingg market. From fresh produce to frozen meat from local farm for specialties like bison, free run chicken, quick international takeout restaurants, plants, sunglasses, anything you can think of you will get in this brightly and very centrally located market. If you ever visit London, i would ask you to put it in your to-go list.
Such a wonderful Market to get all the fresh produce from the farms, meat eggs and organic goodies. The live music 🎶 gives chilling vibes in the middle of the city.
What a landmark and treasure. Amy and all the merchants are positively lovely! If youre in the London area, it absolutely should be one of your stops!
We could see a variety of products under one umbrella. Especially, food products from different countries are available in this market.
Great centre point of London. The market has fresh veggies, fruit and butchers selling meat as well. On Saturday nights they have started a little dance party with local DJs spinning their Beats for an hour and then another DJ comes at the Market Square. Great idea to get the community together into downtown. Food trucks and restaurants are happy to see people back. City of London full props for a job well-done! #cityoflondon#coventgardenmarket#marketsquare
Went there for the first brunch fest that London has ever hosted. Not sure they were prepared for the turn out. Tomato of people! I had Kyles chicken and waffles. So good! Also had a smoothie from the market. Really good too!
Always a pleasure. Local fresh market. Lovely outdoor vendors. New French bakery on the King Street entrance amazing. Friendly people like Glenda at Smith Cheese.
Lovely marketplace to visit. There are organic vegetables, plants, flowers, fancy cuts of meat, sausage, candy, geodes, pottery, Chinese food, cheese from Canada, sushi, European food, breads, it really doesnt end. Plus the first hour of parking is free. Just get your parking ticket stamped by the bright green kiosk in the middle of the marketplace.
We went to various places (names of places in picsfor breakfast, lunch, coffee and deserts. While in London Ontario. Great place. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and helpful. #localmarkets #londonontario #breakfastfood #lunch #dessert #coffee #foodlovers
I was there for the electric market which was a huge success with the lineup of very funky dish jockeys playing some electronic music for us all to dance and enjoy.
Amazing place to visit and try so many different types of foods. Always loved this market and its diversity. Its a nice place to visit if youre coming from out of town as well. Highly recommend
Love this place! We went here as kids, we still go here - now with our kids. My personal favourites are the Tea Haus and the cheese monger on the first floor in the middle ( sorry, I dont know the business name ). Always lots to see here. In the summertime they sometimes have live music as well.
It was a great place to eating there and the clothes are unique. I am happy that I went there to stay for awhile. People are calm shopping with sincere joyful feelings. The market is awesome 👍
This place was an awesome last minute place to check out. Wish I had a market like this near me. They seem to have a little bit of everything from everywhere. Definitely worth checking out.
Very nice market with good produce, great food and coffee. Many areas to sit and enjoy meals, drinks and have a good time with your friends/family. Clear bathrooms upstairs. Open on weekends as well, free short term parking in their garage.
Overrated - most vendors were closed and the selection wasn’t great. To top it off we had to pay for parking. There are so many other farmers markets in the London area that offer more selection.
What a treasure this place is for London!Amazing fresh produce outside along with flowers cheeses and herbs, but the one treasure I discovered last weekend was an indescribable Bacon Onion Egg tea biscuit sandwich. If you ever read a Scottish crime novel, you would have heard about a bacon butty. This was everything I have ever imagined - god it was good 😊. It was called London Sandwich Co and he is situated outside and has a grill and gorgeous tea biscuits. Sooo good.
I love this place!!!! The market itself has a wide range of vendors from meats, cheeses, coffee, chocolate, produce, tea, everything!Everyone is super friendly, and it’s really fun to sit outside on one of the patio chairs and watch downtown, or if it’s not favourable weather, it’s nice to sit upstairs in the dining area and look out the big windows! The weekend markets are great, the give us the excuse to go visit the indoor vendors, and we get to see our favourite farmers for extra-awesome greens, it’s a family event, and we always looks forward to the weekend!
Love wandering through the market. So many interesting sights, sounds and smells. A great place to find unique items, delicious fresh produce, meat, cheese, baked goods, international food choices and out door events. No need to go outside, theres parking underground.
In my opinion, one of the jewels of London. Ive been coming here since before the major remodel, and the shop spaces are always clean, well stocked, and staffed by pleasant if not friendly people. Ive had my leather jacket repaired, picked up fresh and healthy lunch or dinners, and I survive winter by stocking up at the tea shop
One of my favourite places to wander around in London. They have a nice variety of shops and lots of places to sit down and eat. My favourite places are The Tea Haus, The Piping Kettle, and Seoul Seafood Shoppe. There’s something for everybody here!
The Convent Garden Market is such a colorful place in downtown London. There you can find fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, pastries, and even souvenirs. You can also grab a coffee, a snack or a meal, depending on your appetite. During the winter they have a skating ring, and when the weather starts to warm up, they start the farmers market on Saturdays and other festivals in their mezzanine or outside.May be the produce is a little more expensive than in some groceries stores, but you can buy in smaller amounts. The restaurants have good prices and variety.Follow them on their social media as they post daily updates and upcoming events.
Once upon a time, this place was a great place to go and buy food and grocery items from small / local vendors for a great price. These days the selection is still good, but the prices sure arent. It feels like its becoming more of a tourist trap then a place to actually regularly shop. But if $8 loaves of bread and $4 per pound apples are your thing, then this might be the place for you.
Beautiful local market with different vendors providing fresh produce and variety of products.
Lovely and very cute city market. Here you can find local and international products, all of them very fresh and tasty. There are alleys of international cuisines as well as restaurant locals where you can dine in.Besides the product, the most important thing about this place its that everything is colorful, well organized and aesthetic. Its like a fairytale market haha.I bought here maple syrup and cookies. I highly recommend to come by.
A very nice place which Im sure more fun to be at when it is fully open with dine-in option and live performances. There were a variety of food items from local vendors, while a bit pricey they seem fresh & tasty. Nice change of pace if youre tired of going to big chain supermarkets for grocery items
Checked this cute little market while in London. You don’t want to miss out on the burek (spinach & cheese/meatwhile you’re there. Very tasty!! Ended up going back after we tried to grab my parents some as well. You can buy frozen ones too, either cooked or uncooked. Just preheat oven to 350 and bake for 40 mins until it gets golden.
Beautiful city market. Great local options. Products fresh. Plants are beautiful but seemed a bit pricey. We visites in the winter, so we were able to see the skating rink in front of the market.
Visited the market a couple of days back. It is spacious and has many international food stalls including Korean, Chinese, Indian, Japanese, etc. There was also an ice skating area right infront of its main entrance. Wasnt so crowded by the time we walked in around 2pm on a weekday.
Very nice market. They have some good restaurant options and food vendors. It’s small but there’s a good variety. The washrooms could be a bit nicer. Overall it’s pretty good little marketplace.
Mixed of local business and ethnic food. Had a variety of local food; fresh and inexpensive. Furthermore, they do have an organic food section.Totally worth it
A lovely indoor market with a very wide range of local goods! While I visited I saw fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, cheeses, breads, pastries, French desserts, smoothies, ice creams, jams/preserves, fresh florals, gifts, handmade items, accessories, home decor, Canadiana, quick service restaurants and a coffee shop. There is parking underground which at the time was free for the first hour or 2 upon validation, and a couple dollars per hour after that. Outside there is a large square with benches and picnic tables. Inside there were a few tables as well. Overall a very nice visit and especially great if you are looking for some local goods to eat or gift to others.
One of my favourite places in London. Heaps of fresh produce, delicious coffee, great food everywhere, Indian at New Delhi & Waldos restaurant are my favourites.I love the selection of organic meats for my son and all vendors are incredibly friendly.Beautiful building with high ceilings.
The market is a great place to come for fresh produce, coffee, and specialty items. Bright and vibrant in the downtown. I really enjoy the atmosphere and feel of history this market offers like no other.
If youre looking for unique and local this is the place ! The smell of wonderful food will make your mouth water .From flowers too chocolate this place has it all. Dont forget to visit the top floor and enjoy the view.
Free wifi, and there arent a lot of outlets in the mezzanine, but some, so if you can get one, its a great place to do some work and enjoy a great view of the square below. Theres lots of great events there, plus an outdoor market in the summer, and skating in the winter.
