Seasons Caribbean Cuisine in Reading

CON: Disappointing. Ordered to give Seasons yet another chance. Jerk chicken was DRENCHED in this toxic sickly sweet chilli ketchup sauce, i don’t know what type of jerk that is, never seen anything like it. The actual chicken was unseasoned and had no jerk flavour. Despite there being some type of seasoning on it, it was spicy but it had no flavour, which is the whole point of jerk! To have flavour!The rice and peas is usually nice but again mine was drenched in the horrible sticky sauce. A shame that a West Indian restaurant has to rely on sweet chilli sauce for flavour 🤦🏽‍♀️ Seasons do better.PRO: only reliable meal to order from seasons that has been consistently nice/enjoyable is the curry mutton and rice. So shoutout and thanks to whoever makes that.

This restaurant without a doubt is amazing. Some people talk about long waits or slow service, but this food is quality food prepared with expertise, it is not fast food. I have never had any issues ordering in store or on Deliveroo. Definitely one of my comfort food places.

Do not order from this place! The chicken was not cooked. Everything was dry apart from the macaroni cheese, which was soggy and wet instead. The sickness I feel after eating the food. Such foul and disgusting, don’t waste your money unless you want a very bad stomach after

More like unseasoned food was tasteless and the mutton was dry!!!!Dont get me started with the plantain it was dry and tasteless and the portion was ridiculously small.Never again !

Ordered large Jerk chicken and was mostly bones and rice barely any sauce so rice was quite bland and tasteless too much rice to chicken perrys is much tastier

My colleague and I were working in the area, he invited me to go to seasons to try some Caribbean food. I was sceptical and unsure at first but my word , it was some of the best tasting food I have ever had. The service was good and welcoming and the food was extremely tasty. I highly recommend the Roti and seasons take away.

Worth every penny.

Dont buy anything from Seasons!!!! I recently broght jollof rice and the guy was so lazy he couldnt cook the chicken and it was raw. i thought African cusine was better than this

Have ordered several times from Seasons. Friendly staff. As a Trini, I rate their goat roti. Their veg roti includes other veg which I know is not authentic but I love as it means less potato but still plenty channa...Always on the menu when we come to Reading...

Called at 3pm an was told a curry chicken would tek an hour an half to deliver Alf mile on oxford road. Cancelled right away! Dey love to keep you hungry. Bun this place! Probably run by wannabe rastas

If you want good Caribbean food in Reading, this is the only place you need to go to...!!

First time eating your food an it was really good I will recommend it to any who wants Caribbean food and I will be back

Rude business - called twice to speak to the manager and they put the phone down on me twice and I also heard the manager in the background say "just cut them off" - wouldnt waste my money here.

We tried Seasons for a takeaway delivery on Saturday night. It came so quick, 30mins and my house is hard to find on the other side of town.Staff were really sweet, enjoyed ordering here. The food was not spicy but was very tasty. Nom nom.

This is my favourite place to eat in Reading bar none. Friendly staff, great value for money and the food is consistently tasty and full of meat. No hunting in the sauce here! Stewed chicken, oxtail and mutton curries are my favourites, get the roti while it lasts!

Gorgeous food. Cant sit down in the shop. Just take away bug well worth a visit.ladies in the shop were lovely too.Parking was abit difficult though.Lots of choose. Cakes were delicious too.

Ordered takeaway for a family birthday meal. What a waste of money.Every single meal had to be warmed up. Mutton Curry dry as a bone and tasteless. Fried fish meal - fish totally bland, no flavour. Vegetarian curry meal - curry once again tasteless and bland. Ended up seasoning it when I heated it up. Chicken curry meal - plain, tasteless, bland. Jerk Chicken meal - utterly bland. My baby son polished it off. That tells you how flavourless it was. Macaroni pie - not even salted, but it did taste good once Id warmed it up and added salt. Sides overpriced - Plantain £1.50 for 5 slices so not even a quarter of a plantain! Coleslaw - £1.50 for 5 level tablespoon!Would never order from Seasons again. Feel robbed as food was awful.

Lovely staff but, food tends to be a bit dry and takes a millenia for food to be cooked.

Long delivery waiting time then 40 mins late to find out that the order wasnt complete as the lady burnt the pattys hideous customer service!

Seasons food is always great all year round in ever season there is great food for ever taste buds.

Curry mutton disgusting £10 wasted

Packaged well. The order arrived on time and delivery man was polite.- Large Jerk Chicken with Rice and Peas (£11.50)The chicken was slightly dry, but tasty. There was a lot of rice, and I think about half a chicken. There was some mildy hot sauce on top.- Plantain (£1.50)There were 3.5 small slices of plantain which is a rip off.- Banana Cake with Custard (£3.50).A little on the dry side, seems like it was bought and not homemade. Not enough custard either. £2.50 is the maximum that should be charged for a slice of cake and dollop of custard.I will order again but only a mains since it looks like anything else is over-priced.

Ordered curry mutton and it was absolutely apauling. Defiantly not carribean food actually threw it away because it was that bad.Ordered the food over the phone the lady seemed to have the biggest attitude for no reason

A real taste of the carabian food

Order my food at 1953 was told 45 mins to 50 mins for delivery after hour and 10 mins later called them and wad then told another 30 mins wait.Absolutely shocking will not be using again

Very disappointed with the service and the quality of the food. One it was very expensive, two it was late, three the food was so dry that we had to throw all of it in the bin. I have eaten the same caribbean food in Birmingham and it was so delicious.

So orderd thinking was pickin up from London rd , got there wasn’t opened so had to pick up Order from Oxford road was not happy bunny , food was average, communication was mute , would NOT RECOMMEND

I dont ever write a review but I was so disappointed with the food, service and most importantly the price, let me explain. Yesterday I bought a takeaway from Seasons Caribbean Cuisine. I ordered a large rice & peas, large curry chicken curry and jerk chicken. i didnt realise until I got home that I have paid £15 for a small rice & peas with veg instead of salad, small curry chicken and a small portion of jerk chicken. the curry was not season it got no taste, half a rice & peas and half veg crammed in together, the jerk chicken was not seasoned thank god for the BBQ jerk sauce. the service was so slow one customer got fed up and walked out the shop. The quality of food and service have dropped dramatically. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

I can not explain now amazing the jerk chicken and dumplings are. Staff are lovely too. Highly recommended

Tasty food and fantastic staff, if I could I would eat their food weekly. I absolutely love the oxtail and dumplings.
