Great crew! We really appreciated that our DM worked with us to go diving on short notice and they went above and beyond by taking videos of the dive and sharing them since we forgot a camera. They know the best dive spots and a safe and professional dive shop. I’m a Dive master as well so I would notice if things were not being done right or equipment was less than good. Everything is solid with Seahorse. Good vibes and good dives! I also like that this shop is run by locals !

I had a great experience doing my Open Water Diver certification with Seahorse Dive Shop. My instructor, Andres, kept it fun and made it easy to learn and practice all the skills. We saw a variety of locations on the two days of dives (went to Laughing Bird and Silk Cayeswith lots of wildlife. The included lunch and drinks were also very good. Would highly recommend Seahorse for anyone else diving or thinking about getting certified here!

Brian did an amazing job of booking my husband and I for six straight days (~12 divesof amazing reef, atoll, and pelagic diving. The Dive Masters and boat crew were wonderful and shared local knowledge about the reefs we visited. Ill definitely be back to dive with them again. Thanks for a wonderful dive vacation!

Kiran lead us on 3 snorkels off silk Caye. He was great: finding us cool creatures we would have missed and identifying stuff for us. Food was good, although the quantity could have been more. The boat ride was great and it was a wonderful day. Saw sharks, rays, sea turtle, and squid. Amazing coral.

Great dive shop! Probably the best dive shop in Placencia. They have the biggest boat, and have a full crew manning it. Very friendly and knowledgeable and reasonably priced.

We got in three quality days of two tank dives and two snorkel spots with a quick refresher. Good for all levels of diving. Home made beach lunch each day included. Friendly and knowledgeable staff with experienced and patient dive masters. Still need to pull all the good photos off the GoPro.

Good shop overall. We dove at silk caye, and really enjoyed the shelf dive where we saw nurse sharks, moray eels, and much more.

There were 5 of us in our group. 2 got their open water certs. The rest of us got refresher lessons. We did 4 dives and one snorkel in 2 days.The dives were excellent. We saw manta rays, moree eels, rock lobster, puffer fish, lion fish (killing several), nurse sharks and on our last dive, dolphins!To top it off, the staff and master divers were great. We felt safe and well instructed the entire time. I highly recommend the diving here and the Seahorse Dive Shop.

Every person was helpful, thoughtful, informative, and fun! If we find ourselves in the area again, we will definitely dive with Seahorse. When youre there, be sure to ask about where to see the seahorses.

Had two Midwest girls with our group that wanted to go deep sea fishing, but not ALONE !!. So I went but they did not need me, The Captain was so Professional and personable. his crew was small but determined for all of us to cath a fish on every line in the water. I rented a boat in Missouri for a day last year it was over $500.00 US so a boat, Captain, all the gear, food and BEER!! so cheap !!

We had a very diverse group and they could accommodate all of us.. I had 2 of my best dives of my life with Marvin.

Dove with seahorse last week for two days, Marvin, Max, Harry and Darryl were very friendly and professional and we had a blast diving close by silk caya and laughing bird caye. Overall great experience!

Pros:They give you a discount if you dive with them 3 days or more. They didnt ask for a deposit. I felt like at home. They are very professional.They answer the phone immediately and I like their availability.Cons:The only problem was that in some dives we finished after 30 min because of the other people in the group finished their air ( some of them was breathing from the octopus of the dive master)I think its not cool to ask everyone to stop the dive, its known that a dive should be at least 45 minutes.We spoke to them and they brought another dive master the next time. So I cant blame or something.Just so you know before you arrive to asked them whats the level of diving of the people you dive with and just ask for another dive master or another solution.Im saying that because the people who came to the dive shop when we were there were (most of them like 95%beginners. And when I say that ... they only dived one or two or three times before the arrived.Anyway my point is that they need to consider different levels of divers.

We had such a good experience with Sea Horse Dive Shop. Junior was our tour guide and he was awesome! Very friendly, funny and extremely knowledgeable about the plants, birds, and other animals. He helped us spot howler monkeys, manatees, crocodiles and more. Lunch in Monkey River Village was also lovely. Very highly recommend!

Loved this shop! However, DONT ATTEMPT THE WHALE SHARK DIVE. We were told there were no promises but after over and hour boat ride each way and 2 attempts to see the whale sharks they admitted they havent been seen much because the snapper are spawning in other places. We were told another group did a 3tank dive taking the boat with the fish-finder that was typically used to find the spawning fish that attract the whale sharks. We were told by other dive shops (after the factthat they were not offering this option due to lack of sighting over the last 2 years. A little disappointed that this option is still being offered to people here. The whale sharks have moved on and it seems like they knew it beforehand. We were still charged full price for the dive. Otherwise, it was pleasant and peaceful. The captain and divemaster were awesome. Lunch was thoughtful and homemade and delicious. I would definitely dive with them again for do a reef dive or certification. I know its not guaranteed to see them but it was still upsetting to hear there havent been any sightings lately.

Best dive shop in Belize. Booked our accommodations and diving with Brian. Captain Shawn got us to and from all dive sites safely. And Harry, Max, Andres, Damien and Kirk took care of all our diving. Great experience all around!

Great family-owned business for 30+ years. So friendly and knowledgeable of the local waters- caught and ate fish during snorkeling trip. Enjoyed it so much we went twice in three days. Sean, Byron, Andreas and Harry are the best! Highly recommended. A+

Went on a dive with Seahorse to laughing bird Cay and had an absolute blast. Their staff was so knowledgable and knew literally every fish that came across us. It was quite the adventure. A must for your time in Plascencia!

We went on two snorkel trips with Seahorse and both were great! We preferred Silk Caye because of the turtles, but we found the reef was better here too. Andreas and Amir are fantastic! This dive shop is very ethical and respects the sea creatures we encountered by stressing that we could not touch anything. I plan to return here next time Im in Belize

Great service! Staff are very knowledgeable, capable, and helpful on dive trips, dive masters set a good pace in the water and are very watchful. They cleaned and kept our gear overnight for the 4 days we dove with them.

Captain Sean, Dive master Harry and Curt were all fantastic. This shop is truly a jewel. All of the staff were helpful very knowledgeable and 100% professionals. I am a PADI rescue diver and I would have not had a single issue joining their operation. Harry was able to get my weights right by looking at me. Once I was in the water, I barely needed to adjust the air in my vest. This team also made sure that all the divers had very little to no "dangly bits" hanging down. Divers know how important this is to protect the diver as well as the environment where you dive.One thing I have noticed about several dive shops that I have used, the equipment is well "Worn". Meaning the Regulators, and SPGs look very beat up, Seahorse Dives equipment was in VERY GOOD CONDITION. SPGs exterior were in very good condition the glass was crystal clear and very easy to read. The Regulators were in very good conditions with almost no abrasions (Means they take great care of their equipment). The Hoses were all in great shape (no cracking at all).There is nothing more important than trust and confidence when doing something that requires specialized equipment to be performed in a safe manner. The combination of quality staff with quality equipment inspired confidence and I Trust the Seahorse Dive team.NOTE: I unfortunately did not have my camera with me, if I can contact some of the divers I had the pleasure to dive with, I will hopefully add them here in the near future.

One of the best dive shops in town. They run a large boat that makes the day a pleasure rather than a chore. Dives are on the pricey side, but worth the price. The crew is friendly and professional.

Hands down the best experience ever! My husband and I were first time snorkelers and the staff was super friendly and personable! When we return, we will definitely be using them again maybe for a scuba dive!

Loved the trip to the silk cayes with this company. The whole experience was excellent. We took our 8 and 10 year old and they can’t wait to go back. The guides were just excellent. Food was great. Highly recommend!

We had a great time snorkeling at the Silk Caye and Laughing Bird Caye with these guys. They all were interactive, information, engaging and fun. Every staff member i met were very good. My favorite co-captain was Colin (6 yr old kid who was such a delight). Thank you for making our trips great.

Tom and I went out with Amar, Oscar and the captain (forgot his nameand had the snorkeling experience of a lifetime. We cant recommend the guys running Seahorse Dive Shop enough. Amar knew the species and names of every fish and coral in the sea and made sure we saw IT ALL. We saw a school of dolphins, 100-year old sea turtles, sting rays, several types of jelly fish, nurse sharks, a barracuda and so much more. The on shore lunch was terrific too. I especially liked the carrot bread and other bakery goods. We laughed, learned and were continually amazed at what we saw and the courtesy and comradery of the staff. Thanks fellas!

Had the pleasure of getting certified by this shop, it ended up being a 1 on 1 course. The instructor was friendly but firm, when both our lives are on the line I appreciate his push to get it right. They dive at amazing locations. The belize reef is so beautiful!

I would never book at this dive shop again. We booked it and paid for our dives. Sent them the forms they requested and received an email before we left for our cruise, that we were all set up and they were looking forward to diving with us. Our cruise ship arrived at the port and we carried our gear to their dive shop. The rudely informed us that they sent us an email the night before cancelling our dive. We were on a cruise and they knew it. We had no email access. The kid at the counter told us that he thought it was due to only 2 people signing diving and they did not want to take only 2 people out. No other help was offered or even the names of the area dive shops. I emailed them when we got home to let them know how disappointed I was that we did not get to dive and they did not even respond to my email. Never again will I deal with the likes of this shop.

These guys are just the best. I went scuba diving with a mix of certified and new divers. The guides managed the diverse skill levels of the group flawlessly. Both new and experienced divers had a great time. They are very knowledgeable about the reefs life and focused on making sure its well preserved.

Went snorkeling with the dive shop. Staff were nice but didnt do much to make the trip great, which is what Ive experienced elsewhere. Not a ton of communication, staff kept to themselves at lunch, and same during the boat ride back. The snorkeling was great, but a bunch of companies were doing the exact same activities as us and interacted much more with the guests. Those tour companies also brought nicer lunches (some grilled them right on the islandand beer for the guests. Would definitely use a different tour company if you want a more interactive experience with the crew, more bang for your buck re lunch, and overall a more welcoming experience.

I did their blue hole trip at the end of December and the crew was great! They pointed out great fish for me to take pictures of and kept us entertained on our 3hr boat out to the dove site. They keep their gear clean and I had a a problem with my regulator before the dive and they knew how to fix it quickly. The divemasters did a great job keeping the group together! I recommend them to anyone who wants to do a dive in Belize go with these guys!!

Kirk the dive master was working with me on the referral certification and that went beyond my expectation. Brian was easy to get ahold of and worked with us so well during the slow season when no one was looking to dive. Shawn captained our boat masterfully and he and Kirk made the journey to the dive sites fun. Briefing was on spot and the experience was one I will remember forever. Their shop was blown away with the hurricane but the business wasnt effected they are an excellent company and I will use them every time Im in Placencia.

Great experience with this dive shop. Went on a day trip to lighthouse reef. This guys had everything in order. DM attention during the 3 dives was perfect. Joking and having a good time during the travel.

We spent a week in Placencia and we had planned to dive every day until we realized how expensive gas was. The diving was a lot more expensive than we had anticipated but Brian Jr worked out a deal with us since it was a group of us. We were staying on Placencia Caye making this dive shop our choice since it was only 200 yards from our caye and $30(UScheaper per dive. They even picked us up from the house dock making it even easier! We later found out, this was the better choice regardless of location and price. The other dive shop nearby uses an enclosed boat which was not good for the ones who get seasick and we didnt hear other divers raving about their crew. Our dive master Max was one of the best that weve ever had(and we like to dive whenever we travel). He was fun, showed us lots of life and even saved my friends life. My friend had a bad regulator and at 90ft, he took care of her, kept her calm, and ended up being able to complete the whole dive successfully in Shark Pit by buddy breathing. I cant emphasize enough how fun it was diving with Max. He was playful during safety stops and when my dive computer wanted me to do a half hour deco stop at 10ft, he was there making the time fly by! Ask him to blast some bubble rings your way. Captain Shaun also made our trips fun. They worked as a great team and kept smiles on our faces. He made our boat rides smooth and even went out of the way to drop a couple of our friends off on a caye to relax and snorkel while the rest of us went diving. We ended up hanging out with Shaun afterwards, and met his parents on the soccer field too. After finding out that Shaun and Brian were both raised at that dive shop by their parents who opened it 27 years ago, made me really happy that we were supporting a local shop as well. They are great people and its a huge mistake if you dont dive with them!

Snorkeled with Seahorse at Laughing Both Caye. Our guide was incredible! He found so many different creatures to point out to us! Our group was quite experienced so he also let us roam around while maintaining a watchful eye. The lunch was delicious. Seahorse is the oldest snorkel/dive agency in Placencia and is locally owned and operated fit what Ive heard. Great day!

The dive masters at Seahorse were VERY knowledgeable not only about diving / snorkeling, but also about the area around Placencia and the best places to go on the reef to see marine life. They are very patient and not condescending teachers for "newbies" but have hundreds of dives between them to demonstrate their experience. After our group inadvertently left somethings at the dive shop after our last day (in December 2013), one of their divers went ABOVE and beyond to return it to us. They are good folks at Seahorse Dive Shop. I highly recommend them! May not be the biggest or fanciest, but certainly the best!
