Seagulls in Bridgeport

THIS IS NOT S REVIEW OF THE FOOD, BUT ONLY A REMARK.Very disappointed on a Thursday evening the restaurant was empty and didn’t accept us, because we have a very small dog “in her carrier bag”.The waitress with long hair, was brushing her hair while talking to us.The food may be nice, but we will not be able to put in our review book.

When ever we go to West bay we always go to seagullsWe had Sunday lunch and once again we wasnt let downThe roast beef melted in my mouthAnd would highly recommend people to give it a go

Best food weve had in a long time.Mushroom soup starter & pork belly main was delicious.Fairly priced for the quality of food.Restaurant could do with updating.Overall it was great and would definitely return.

Small friendly restaurant, with excellent, quality food and friendly staff.I would certainly recommend this place if you are in the area. Booking is recommended as the place can be very busy, due to the excellent menu.

The food and service was excellent, we came here for the Sunday roast and couldn’t choose a better place in West bay! The chicken with cream and mushrooms was also delicious! Highly recommended!

We have been coming to the restaurant at least once a year, more recently once a month, the staff are outstanding, and the food is excellent. I can thoroughly recommend Seagulls if you are ever in west bay to have a meal here.EDIT: It is now 2022, and we still continue to eat here every Month, you must try this Restaurant when ypu are in West Bay

The food is a lot better than the building looks inside or outside! Very friendly service and pleasant dinner at Seagulls.

Yesterday my husband and I had the roast rib of beef and grandson had sausages, chips and beans. All our meals were excellent. The service was excellent and the staff very friendly and attentive. The best meal we have had in a restaurant for a very long time.

Very pleasantly surprised. Service friendly and efficient, food not bad at all and reasonable portion size. Good range of choices. Prices about average and overall a nice experience.Went to Oyster and Fish House in Lyme Regis the evening after, both my wife and I felt we should have come back to Seagulls for a second helping instead. Half the price and just as good if not better.

No frills, good honest food.Cheerful staff, prompt service.Would go again if I lived here.

WOW!!!Been to West Bay 6 times in the last few years, but tonight we found the best restaurant in the area.Service superb.Food delicious.One of the best meals we have ever had, and the prices are very reasonable.Many thanks for a perfect meal...we will return on our next trip.

This was one of our favourite meals out while on holiday. Attentive, friendly service. Food was excellent. My partner and I both had the cheddar crusted fish it was amazing. Highly recommend. Need to book. We will definitely eat here again.

We go to the seagulls every time we come to west bay. We so glad to see that there were open and made though locked down, and as always the food and the service were outstanding. The chief is absolutely amazing you can taste how fresh the local produce is , know one flavour over powers the rest everything is well balanced food from starter to pubbing. Just as good as any high end restaurant and definitely just as good as Rick stein restaurant. The staff are just as good friendly they know the menu your not rushed in anyway. And to top it off you can have a 3 coarse meal with 2 bottles of good wine for less that £100. We will continue to go back time after time. Its a must go to restaurant when in west bay. But make sure you book early as possible. You wont regret it.

Had a family meal here, restaurant is fairly small and can get busy at times, however the staff cope fantastically and are very attentive, the food is TRULY excellent, probably the best in West Bay, all very reasonably priced, will book again next time I’m in the area for sure.

Lovely little place. Food tasted great. Despite being understaffed,the waiters were quick to respond,friendly and professional. If ever in the area,we will definitely come back.

Sunday lunch today, beautifully cooked, piping hot, fresh vegetables and good gravy. Homemade bread and butter pudding the best Ive ever had, served with fresh cream in a lovely little glass jug. Fab!

Fantastic! I had crab soup for starter... amazing... then the Hake special... divine!. The waitress was incredible... excellent at her job... very friendly. Definitely going back!

Best meal Ive had yet in my 2 weeks here, starter, main & desert all stunning, tried my partners too & they were equally as good, so much so we booked the following night, whoever is in that kitchen is a magician... cant do you justice with whatever i put... Bravo..! The girls out front serving are both lovely too... great service, so friendly and incredibly professional, if you havent eaten here... you need to...!

Excellent little restaurant right by the beach and very cheap carpark next to it. The lady serving was very efficient and very welcoming. The food as great freshly cooked serving fresh fish daily with good coffee.

The crab soup starter blew my mind. Simply delicious. The beef sirloin was amazing too. Very reasonable prices for outstanding food (starters and desserts around 6 pounds each, mains between 12 and 18 pounds). The staff was lovely and following covid safety measures. I highly recommend!

Menu was light on seafood for a seaside restaurant. Waitresses were busy and it took an age for our food to arrive as a result even at lunch. When it arrived it was the wrong order, but was corrected by the staff. Food was very good it just took too long.

Good food and service but seems very expensive. We stopped here for Sunday lunch, but all the roast beef was reserved (fair enoughWe had two adult chicken dinners, two childrens chicken dinners, 2 adult desserts and a childs single scoop icecream, 3 cokes and a pint of shandy and it came to over £71 which to me seemed quite steep for a seaside cafe. Having said that, the food was pretty good and the service excellent.

Great hosts, deserves its reputation. The filo prawns were the best ever.Vegtables!!! (Excuse the madness but they became a bit unusual in the sea of fish and chips everywhereThe bread and butter pudding... so simple, so impressive.

Good was lovely. Tender steak, fresh hot veg and everything presented nicely. We were waited on courteously by 2 lovely ladies who made us feel valued. Value for money was excellent. Well recommended.

Superb lunchtime meal, 5 of us dining 1 in a wheelchair. We had 1x Prawn in filo pastry and 4 fish , chips and peas, how did they make the peas so tasty I could have eaten a bowl full on their own. Service was excellent by a delightful young lady that attended to our needs. They offer a good selection of meals meat, fish and vegetarian all at reasonable prices and in a very cosy restaurant. Rather posh really. We have been many times over the years and never fails to please.

Smaller restaurant with a fairly diverse menu, but every single item on each of our plates was perfect. The steak was gorgeous, the chicken was very tasty, the stew was delicious, but the thing that really set Seagulls apart from other good restaurants was that the focus want solely on the main dish - the potatoes were excellent and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. Everything on the plate was obviously prepared with care and attention to detail, which is very rare, especially at the very reasonable prices. Service was faultless and the venue is great, but for me a restaurant is all about whats on the plate and nobody at our table could suggest any improvements (no matter how small). Highly recommended.

We had lunch here. My husband had the homemade soup which was delicious. I had the fresh crab baguette one of the nicest Ive ever tasted. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

Really lovely food, friendly people, good atmosphere. Weve been several times and it is always good.

We chose Seagulls for a meal out on our final night in Dorset at the end of May & we werent disappointed. Two of us had fish, two had lamb shank & one had the beef casserole with dumplings - all excellent & very tasty. We had to wait a while but didnt mind because the meals were worth waiting for. We would all recommend this restaurant & hope to return next time we are back in the area.

Well words cant express how wonderful the food was .Starters King Prawns cooked with chorizo and onions ... Wow the smell and taste was amazingThen Mains Lamb shank .Well the meat fell from the bone, exquisite taste .served with well cooked veg and beautifully soft new potatoes .. 10/10Best ever ... please everyone visit you will not be disappointed..Staff efficient and friendly too .. great atmosphere..Totally made our getaway break perfect

West Bay the Seagull Restaurant is marvelous we booked for a Sunday dinner Rib of Beef Yorkshire etc wonderful went back on Wednesday for an evening meal of casserole perfect already booked for a 3rd meal would truly recommend this small intimate friendly Restaurant staff friendly service very good. U must try it.
