Seafood 71 restaurant & Karaoke - Restaurant in Vientiane, Laos
Great little spot with fun decor and a great spot for watching sports or hanging out with a big group. They have outdoor seating but it was hot when I came here and I didnt want to sit outside.Theyve got a good selection of oysters and the shuckers did a great job. I had the sha-bang shrimp and it definitely couldve used more sauce. The bread was super good. My friend had tacos and he really enjoyed them.Service was prompt and friendly.
Food and drinks were great. The server took a little too long between visits. Other then that, I would definitely be back. This was on the dinner side. It looked like the outside had a different menu.
As daytime bartenders go (and thats good), top notch here. Fair deal and food is excellent, way shorter drive than actual shores.
First visit and definitely not the last. Shrimp bang bang, oysters and blueclaw fingers awesome. The bread to soak up the juice is "off the charts".
Had coffee and breakfast tacos, it was good. Checked out dinner menu. So overpriced not ever going to be able to go.
Original Works of SeafoodThe Shore Raw Bar & Grill is on our regular restaurant rotation but unlike other places this menu seems to change making dining in special every time. I generally try a new item on every visit and on this day it was the Crispy Skinned Striped Bass with a drink called Paper Plane. The bass was positioned on top of blue crab rice and grilled yellow squash with panko-fried asparagus with blackberry-habanero sauce, pickled red onion and basil on top. It sounds like a large assortment of ingredients but together this plate of food was very good. The fish was perfectly cooked with lots of flavor and was powerful to my taste buds. The only thing left was the stalks of the asparagus which usually my least favorite vegetable, but it was prepared delightful.I sat at the bar and the bartender did an excellent job creating my Paper Plane. The place has also grew some legs with a side shop called Sunrise at Shore (coffee shop with breakfast tacosand a VIP private room for the high rollers of seafood cuisine. Overall It’s my favorite seafood restaurant and enjoy dining here.
First time here on 9/24/2022. Liz G took special care of us. We enjoyed the house salad. Lots of greens, roasted bell pepper, olives, onion, tomato and feta cheese. We shared peel-and-eat shrimp. Hard to call them shrimp. SO BIG! Enjoyed the sautéed lobster roll. Incredible freshness and flavor. Definitely a wonderful date night with my Sweetheart.
Their raw bar is great and the drinks are great. Definitely way overpriced. The “Cajun” food is pretty horrendous. All in all a good place to visit for happy hour and music if you are only enjoying cocktails and their raw bar selections.
The gumbo isn’t even a gumbo. It was an odd stew, devoid of any flavor, spice, or texture. Expensive and small portioned as well. I’ve been looking for a good gumbo in austin for a while and they’re few and far between but this was the laziest attempt I’ve seen
My husband and I shared a meal and he had an iced tea. We paid 100 bucks plus 20 tip. If it would have been half, that would have been still plenty. The meal was good - but not 100 bucks good. I left hungry.
Had a decent experience my first time here, but tonight was a complete joke. Our waitress would come by then vanish for 20/30 mins at a time. Place was about 60% full and we were there for 2 hrs (ordered within the first table touch). What really annoyed me is seeing her to the side of the bar hanging with the other workers and cutting up. Management definitely needs to get ahold of the culture here.
Two stars is generous. Unfortunately. $37 piece of redfish was 90% brown and game-y tasting muscle meat:( It was supposed to be blackened but had zero flavor save the unpleasant gamey and strong tasting brown tissue. I asked the server to confirm that it was in that blackened and he looked from across the room and said “yes” but there was not an ounce of seasoning on this fish just the gamy muscle meat. Then, too, is the detail that I am gluten-free. He told me to just tell him what I wanted and he’d tell me if it was gluten-free🙄 Despite all of that, my Caesar salad still came with croutons. Couldn’t get his attention until I was about halfway done eating around the bread and breadcrumbs on my salad. So he just agreed to bring me some Romain lettuce without the croutons. Absurd. Biggest waste of 170 bucks. Won’t be back and you would be wise to reconsider going.
The seafood sausage gumbo was some of the best gumbo I’ve ever had! The redfish tacos were also quite good. The restaurant has a cool vibe and the jazz band playing that night was great. Not too loud, just the right volume so that we could still easily hear each other. We will definitely be back!
Celebrated a friends birthday. 2 had blackened shrimp tacos, 1 fried fish tacos, and wedge salad. We also had cocktails and dessert. Food tasted delicious as always. Service could be better if server would check in on us more.
The seafood is fresh and very delicious. I had one of the best lobster rolls Ive ever had. Some say the price is high but when it comes to seafood being this fresh I think the price is more than justified. This one of my favorite restaurants in the area!
I had brunch with my family there. I dont think you could have gathered 1 bite of food from all of our plates together when we were done. Drinks were equally delicious. Will definitely be returning soon.
The Shore is a hidden gem. The oysters, ambiance, cocktails, food, and staff are all superb. If you want a laid back yet upscale dining experience away from the mess of downtown, I highly recommend The Shore! It’s the only place my husband and I want to go on the nights we have a babysitter.
Good food. It can get crowded on evening weekends, I would recommend a reservation if you would like a table. There is bar seating, if you do not have reservations. When I walked in at 7pm I tried to out my name down for a table for 2 and was told but the host that it would not be until at least 9pm for an indoor or outdoor table to become available. However the party of two behind me who were also a walk-in were seated about 30 minutes later.
This is extremely unfortunate and I have waited a few visits to post a re-review . This review is a downgrade. Ill start by saying we love this place, the chef quality, the oyster selection, the sauces for oysters (horseradish is to die for). But the last few times over the past ?6? months, the service has been lackluster. We have gotten where we chain order (do not let waiter leave until you order the next thing That is great if time is no issue or you are not super hungry to start, but it is very annoying. My wife is questioning now this as a selection when it was an automatic yes, of course. The prices are very high dollar so you would expect them to be able to pay enough to the staff to keep up, retain service. I am posting our receipt (for four people of which we only shared two entreesbut know this, our waiter Ryan was awesome, just overstretched (I think I counted almost 8 tables he was waiting for at once?. For reference this is the review we wrote 2 years ago when this place first opened:So, this review is very easy for us. Pretty much we cannot say what was better, the amazing service or the amazing food. Our server, Danny, met our every need. The food was outstanding. The scallops were subtle and the red snapper with quinoa matched perfectly. Kudos to the running of this restaurant. If you have money to spend, this place will not disappoint.
Everything about this place is great! The food, drinks, atmosphere, service and music. The crab claws are always a hit! Ceviche is my new fav and hubby loved the fried oysters. Watermelon punch is yummy!!!
Ill share my experience with this place different than I usually do.1. The hostess gets only 1 🌟 she asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside we said inside then she said she only had 1 table available and she needed it back by 645. It was 3pm and I counted 9 empty tables that remained empty until we left. She looked at us crazy most of the time we were there. Its was weird and I should have reported her.2. Our waiter was AMAZING his name was Daniel 5 🌟 he could give pink jacket black jeans and tennis shoes hotess some lessons. He was friendly, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, energetic and just a top tier waiter. He is absolutely a highlight of the dining experience.3. The food came hot, fresh and presentation was great. I paid feel like it needed a little more seasoning but thats my opinion.
I have eaten here about six times because friends from the lake find it convenient. Its ok, but nothing special. I tried the oysters once and they were pitiful. Cerviche was a joke. One visit I had the steak tacos and they were tough and tasteless. The place is expensive for the quality of the food, but the service is good. I continue to eat there because of my friends, there are much better seafood offerings in Austin.
So delicious! The decor is awesome. Wherever does the paintings - love it! Bathrooms are cute too. Their boudin is a go to. I’m picky about my mac and cheese, and it’s one the best I’ve had in Austin so far. Seafood gumbo is a little salty, but still delicious. Drinks are good. My sister has a lobster roll that she loved. My dad had the seafood boil - amazing. Live music is great. Nice space for seating outdoors as well.
Not an Acceptable Experience. This was a second chance visit to Shore Raw Bar and Grill. Our first visit was maybe 4 months ago and we chalked up that visits mediocre food quality and weak service to the expected glitches of ramping back up after COVID shutdowns. It was a common theme then, but now most establishments seem to have gotten their grove back. And so for this visit to our nearly local Shore Raw Bar and Grill, we had much higher expectations for tasty seafood feast. We selected their featured Shore Tower Raw Bar Assortment, some other supporting menu items, cocktails and baked-in-house desserts.Total pre-tip tab about...about $135 per person...with no wine, but two cocktails each. Not inexpensive but hey, we were celebrating.Bottom line was decent service; a quite nicely done Snapper Crudo; a nearly...but not quite...average Ceviche of white fish; large and properly cooked, up but way over seasoned Shrimp; a really, really poor showing of Chef Selected Premium Eastern Coastal Oysters; Dressed Gulf Coast Oysters which were...well they were a complete and utter mess! The drinks were well crafted, the music was quite nice but maybe just a bit loud for dinner,On the other hand, the desserts were certainly better than average including a rather memorable keylime pie.But desserts aside, at $135 a person, the Shore Raw Bar and Grill dining experience was, at very best, weak. Worse, it was way, way low on value.Maybe well try this again after several months, but after two fails I rather doubt well be back
Awesome seafood. We had some wood grilled oysters, fish tacos, shrimp tacos. Service was also very good. Our waiter was very helpful and attentive. There’s a happy hour 3-6pm and music on weekends.
Fresh, delicious, always impressed with everything we order. Raw bar is great, variety of oysters never disappoint. We got the tower recently and it was PERFECT for date night.
It was great to hang out with friends in the outdoor patio area. Good food, good service, will visit again
This is a cool place, live music, chill vibe and great patio with heaters. Food is awesome and service is good too.
This place is fantastic. After going to have dinner for the 3rd time I decided that it was time to leave a review. This place does not disappoint if your looking for a different type of vibe, location, taste and feel while living in Austin. My wife and I went to a new year jazz night after not wanting to go out to bars or large social spaces. The food and music here is fantastic . I personally love the sea food oysters. The staff, owners and management are supper nice. Had a chance to meet the owner and I believe this place is set a part from the rest. If you like a good rendition of seafood and Cajun food, highly recommend trying this place out. They do a great job incorporating a mix of options that’s not extremely overwhelming. Try this place out if you’re in Austin. Great wines, amazing oysters in addition to cocktails. It’s a very creative and innovative venue that appreciates music and good food as art.
I went to Shore last night with a group of 10 ladies for a birthday party. We sat on their beautiful patio and had the most wonderful time. Our wait person was amazing and attentive, the food was delicious, and the drinks were perfect! Shore has live music on the patio, the band was excellent and really added to the ambience! I can not wait to go back! This is my new favorite restaurant and I highly recommend!! ❤️
Stopped in on a Thursday evening and so happy we did. The oysters were fresh, entrees were yummy, server was friendly, and the jazz quartet rounded out a lovely evening. Sunset views were on point. Thanks, Shore, definitely returning!
Sat in the patio outside, they had the misters on to keep it cool. The live music was quite good. The food was delicious as ever though the prices are on a bit of a steep side. However, the service was quite slow and unattentive. The restaurant wasnt full by any means but it didnt seem like there were enough service staff. That said, well definitely return for the occasional splurge.
Pro tip: Sit in Mike’s section.Somehow the killer atmosphere ranks 3rd compared to the incredible cuisine and fantastic service. I took my sweetheart to Shore for birthday dinner the Sunday before Labor Day 2020 based on other online reviews and it didn’t just live up to my expectations, this joint knocked it out of the park! Our server Mike could tell it was our 1st visit and gave us a quick rundown of the menu noting his personal recommendations along the way. He was very knowledgeable about all the offerings. Mike was also accommodating when I requested the Dallas Stars playoff game to be put on the TV. Though our teams differ, his friendly banter helped keep the mood fun.The highlight were the super fresh Prince Edward Island oysters and Dripping Springs martinis. Killer pairing!! 🤌
We always have a good time here.Delicious seafood and tasty cocktails.I had the fish of the day this time and it didnt disappoint. The spicy drinks are seriously spicy! Be aware. ; )Majority of attendants are not wearing masks, so we assume all are, at least, fully vaccinated.
We went on Saturday. I dont know if that was the difference between our experience and the reviews. I get that this is a oyster bar and there maybe flies. But the flies were crazy! The restaurant itself was stifling. No air moving. No fans which would have helped a great deal. I dont understand why restaurants dont have round tables for large groups. We may as well been in a different restaurant as we could not even hear other friends at the table. I bought the most expensive fish on the menu and was disappointed. The crawfish were non exsistant. The snappy shrimp should be renamed to reflect what it really is bbq shrimp. We all would have ordered it as it was the best item on the menu. The porboy had great bread. The free brownie cake was dry and not very good but it was free but I wont ever order it. The service was terrible but its bad everywhere but higher priced places you expect more. The expensive drinks are tiny and very pricey. The bloody Mary was good but ridiculously priced. We wont go back. Expensive. Drinks over priced for what you get. No air circulation. Food expensive and does not meet expectations. Poor service.
Friendly place good service great live jazz but food was not tasty. The chips, were hard and huge the all 4 of us agreed the food was beautifully presented but lossless!,
Food was great, staff very attentive and very friendly environment. It was our wedding anniversary and overfed ourselves for sure. Lol!
Great! Had the surf and turf and a prickly pear margarita. Steak cooked perfectly. Liz our waitress was great too. Will be back!
Popular place, very nice outdoor seating area, but the service was slow. Maybe because we were there for brunch on a weekend, but the food took way too long!
I have traveled around the country eating seafood and I can say without a doubt this is the top 2 best tasting seafood Ive ever had if not #1. Rick the owner is extremely knowledgeable in every aspect of the unique art around the entire restaurant and the delectable, visually appealing, mouth watering food. The bartender Ethan, was the most personable hard working liquor chef Ive had with a heavy pour with a perfect balance. The vibe is relaxing and friendly yet classy and elegant. If you are in Austin you must come here.
Not sure why it took us so long to get here. However it was definitely worth the wait. We had a mix of almost all of the different oysters, the sautéed lobster roll and the fish special. All delicious and John Paul was a very attentive and informative server. Well be back.
We went today on a day trip to Austin to visit family. We stopped @shore_atx first for lunch. So glad we chose this place! Blood orange margarita, Lot 48, Standish shore oysters, beausoleil oysters, wood grilled oysters, clam chowder, crawfish etoufee soup, and Branzino whole fish. Everything was superb! Its a regional restaurant focusing on foods in Texas, Louisiana, and Mexico. Its the sole location and has been around for 2 years. We were so stuffed that we didnt have room for desserts. Theres always next time!I wish they had a location in San Antonio.Highly recommended ❤#blessed #SAfoodie #seafood#iloveseafood #rawoysters #bluepoint #standishshore #woodgrilled #clamchowder #crawfishetoufee #soup #hibiscus #honeysuckle #bloodorange #margarita #branzino
Service was excellent. We dined outside because covid and our server put two heat lamps next to our table. The food was really good too but I didnt think my lobster roll was anything special. The oysters were great!
I started with an Old Fashioned with Angels Envy which was perfect. For the eats, I started with the Crudo and Fried Calamari which are dishes I dont generally eat, Ive gone back again to eat them. I dont do oysters but my party did and of the six different varieties that were brought, they couldnt find anything to complain about. If they had a larger stomach, more would have been consumed.I mained the Grilled Halibut which is brined first. I had never experienced that in fish and I loved it. The rice with its saffron cream sauce is something I wanted to bathe in.The owner is a kind gentlemen who makes it a point to walk around and talk to the patrons, taking note of any complaints and comments. I definitely took notice when he would spot a party leaving after their meal and personally thank them and chat a bit more if they had time.15/10. Will do this many times again.
Amazing food and atmosphere. Oysters are top notch from some of the best waters and the crispy fish tacos were the best I’ve had at a restaurant. Blue Crab Fingers were a delish appetizer. We’ll be back!
The food was very delicious. I love this place. I got to meet the owner and the head chef they were very friendly. I will highly return to this place. The staff is very friendly. I tried the crawfish for the 1st time it was very delicious. This is a great location. This was my first time here .
Actually it is more like 4.5 stars. The food was great. Our issue was that it was so noisy, which cost them .5 stars. We would have liked to sit on the patio because it was a nice evening. Our appetizer was the 6+6 with the gulf oysters, which were pretty good for being out of season. We had to hunt down some lemons because our waiter was busy. The waiter, John Paul, was otherwise great as well. We took the tres leches to ho and had it at home. It was the best we have had in a long time. The fresh fruit was a nice addition. Great place and we will visit again.
Over 5 different types of East Coast oysters and the food and drinks during brunch were very good. Service was excellent. If you enjoy seafood ; this is perfect choice for Texas sourced selection.
Had a really great meal with, from what I could tell, really fresh seafood and not too expensive. I had the seasonal crawfish which was seasoned very well except it was a pain to open but that’s my bad. Would recommend(all my reviews can be found on my instagram page also @jason_todd235 if you don’t mind leaving a like)
Beautifully decorated, great service. But its very open noisey room. Not intimate setting, but priced like a romantic, intimate restaurant. Small portions cooked perfectly, but flavors were nothing extraordinary. Plus non stop country music videos on all the TVs detract from experience. I had Baked Halibut from "Big Plates" section (see picture 3and I was left hungry and scrounging my kids tater tots. 2 adults + 1 kid = $190 with a bottle of wine and tip.
