Marine life shows, thrill rides, aquariums & up-close encounters with dolphins, penguins & more.
It was okay. We’ve been to the one in Orlando which seems laid out better. The map feature was helpful because the layout of the park is confusing. Also no one hour warning before they shut down.We did all day dining but when park is only open 6.5 hours and it takes 1 hr in some places to get food, it may not be worth it if you can just squeeze in one meal. Would recommend eating a brunch as soon as you get in and again at lunch or late afternoon.Bathrooms are wet everywhere. Like everywhere. Like the toilet vomits water in the stalls. They don’t do paper towels here. I wish they had a shoe wash station upon exiting the park.DO get at least 1 souvenir cup without the topper. Unlimited free refills for your first day. Use it to fill up other bottles/cups. Great deal at $18.99 when a single fountain drink is $4.99It was still a decent experience. Not as crowded as expected. Great views.
It rained all day but the sea life doesnt care. We had a great time and enjoyed our day. Lots to see and do. Definitely a must, check out their conservation efforts.
I’ve been to the one in Orlando too, and it was a lot better than San Diego’s. So many attractions were shutdown, park seemed out of passions. No water rides/slides.Shows are good, there were three different shows when we went.I didn’t feel I was in Sea World, felt like a normal local theme park.Teams performing the shows are good at what they do, cleanness is noticeable, and the amount of shops/service facilities is great.I would pump it up a bit with more rides, street attractions, and more.
Great place to take the family or just walk around if you live in the area. There’s a limited amount of hands on areas right at the entrance. The enclosed animal exhibits are awesome with areas to walk above and below water to see the animals in different ways. Would’ve been nice if all of the enclosed areas had AC.
My kids love it! Especially my 5th grader that’s really in to marine biologist. Lots of interesting sites for her and she’s learning every time we visit and ask ambassadors lots of questions👍🏽 This is really educational and fun as well. Great for making memories 😘 Thank you for taking care of our sea creatures and caring for our nature❤️🙌🏽
3.5 stars. Beautiful day. All day dining pass. The food was lack luster. The food staff didnt seem to be organized - very long wait times. The rides were only running 50%. You would expect the staff to be happy - they werent. Surprisingly not a lot of sanitizing areas. Debris on the ground. Very disappointed with the experience especially for the cost of admission. The Orca show was the best at the entire park.
Very fun place with many activities for people of all ages. If you like animals, youll have a great time here (no need to make reservations for the shows, they have plenty of room). If you like rollercoasters, they also have good options, but I recommend trying those on weekdays rather than weekends, unless you dont mind waiting a long time. I just dont quite like their food options; they are expensive and not very good. Other than that, I enjoy this places lot.
Sea World was a great experience that has spectacular shows and engaging exhibits. I didn’t ride any of the rollercoasters, so I’m unsure how those are. I go for everything else that is available to explore, which is plentiful. The only issue I have is the food. It’s simply not appetizing, but I understand there style of cafeteria food service. Its most likely to sell the all day eating pass. I get it easy money. In the end, the shows save the day!
I would give it a 5 star. Being myFirst time there for my family and myMyself. But this place. Needs more staffing. There’s no ice. in hardlyAny of the restaurant / food stands. And also. The lines are ridiculous just to get a water bottle. However, we did have an incredible time.
Great place to go. Lots to do - lots to improve.Must try: close up encounters! We did walrus and it was amazing. Kids loved it. Best 20 minutes at the park.We got there when it opened, 10am on a Thursday. Most rides were not open until 11am or after. That was a bummer.Riders were great. If you have a young one, there are really only two rides they can go on - 48” height. Sesame Street was great for the little one (5yrs old). 9 yr old could ride almost every ride and enjoyed Sesame Street play area.Food was ok. There were adult drinks everywhere - beer, margaritas, etc.Park was clean and easy to get around.
this is an incredibly cool place to visit with or without children. a huge territory (clean and beautiful, there is where to eat), the underwater world, animals, shows on schedule. paid entrance. You can buy tickets online, you can immediately at the entrance. we visited this place on Friday and were satisfied. It wasnt crowded.
Had a Blast Here. What a Great Escape from the norm. The Dolphin show was amazing!!..🙌🏾🤗🤗 My daughter seem to really appreciate the concept of interacting with animals but also enjoying the amusement park side of it all also. Great Family memories accomplished today with our visit here..🙂🙃🙂❤
Loved every minute. The rides and scenery were wonderful. Get the $21.00 ticket that allows you eat or drink once each hour you are there for no additional charge at the restaurants. What a great deal.
Great place to visit if u visit San Diego … lot fun !! Huge zoo!! The weather in San Diego is always nice with make the experience even in a hot day make it better…. Lot fun for kids and adults .. 2 big rides if you’re not afraid of highs like me 😂
Went here a couple years ago without kids and enjoyed their shows, animals, rides and amenities. Fast forward a couple years and now I have two little girls. We went during the Sesame Street event and it was such perfect timing. They had a good amount of rides for the little ones that my husband and I were able to get on also. My girls had such a blast!Their shows are still pretty amazing. But a couple years ago I remember them being a bit more impressive because during the dolphin show, performers were diving way up high and it was just more entertaining. All the animals seem very happy to me. You can tell by the way they interact with their trainers. They seem healthy, active, and stimulated. Although, they can take the time to clean the glass of their tanks. There’s some algae growing on them. There are a lot of rides for children and adults. A lot of food stops and carts. Lots of gift shops. They have more events now than back then. All in all, this place is worth checking out when you’re in the San Diego area!
What a great time we had, the app makes it very easy to see what’s going on and times and everything. Though didn’t like that many places you pay for rides but everything was beautiful. Adrenaline show at the end of the night was very nice and the finale fireworks.
Great spot to come with kids. Wide variety of marine lives to see and interact. Have to walk a lot - be prepared. They have fun park for kids in between too. The staff is really caring towards the aquatic lives and try not to force any interaction that may hamper their feelings.
Beautiful fun park, especially for kids. You can spend the whole day here watching different marine animals. Make sure you arrive early in the morning if you want to cover everything in the park. Parking seems expensive to me at 30$ (general parking). Some rides charge extra money however the three main shows are free: Dolphin show, Orca show and the sea lion show.
We arrived at 11:30 and left 9 just for reference.First the good:The amount of stuff to do and see is great we where there about an hr after opening. Also got the all day dining pass.My whole family had an amazing time we all where excited for different events and activities. The shark exhibit is for sure one of my favorite. And the feed the seal area was also supper fun. All the viewing areas where great. The Sesame Street kids play area was surprisingly pretty good we where there during story time and that was cool .The bad:Ok not sure if it was just me but all the shows we went to where on average 15min. As a kid I remember going to shows for like 30min ( I do understand if this change was made due to the animals safety just was not expecting them to be that short. Thats said the longest show was the drumming show at one of the theaters for like 45 min. It had nothing to do with sea creatures but was supper fun Customer service was awful almost non existent. The food was not great and the service was worse.(we still saved money because of the all day dining passnot only that they started closing dinning about two hr before the park closed so we literally had to run to the last restaurant that closed, it sucked .
Great place to take small children. Perfect combination of educational mixed with fun activities. Rides are great but lines are super long. Food is great but get the dining plan, very worth it.
Most all employees carry on with dreadful faces, unwelcoming, unapproachable. The place is filthy. A lot of trash outside the penguin exhibit. Food lines extremely long, i saw many people just walk out with food, no one stopped them. Management still has a real problem. Gave it another try, but never coming back. Rides were very good. Shows were good. It feels like its glory days will never come back.
Lots of fun and plenty to do for everyone in the family. We went on a weekday in July 2022 and we got the All Day Dining Pass. It is a great deal, but it felt like the restaurants that accepted the pass were purposely going slower. We were in line for a restaurant when it closed and once they closed the line it was moving nearly 3 times faster. Not sure if it was an abnormal day or not as far as our All Day Dining Pass experience was. It would have also been nice to have the option to use it for a snack or even bottles of water throughout the day, but there was no easy way to do that. Overall it was a great park and experience, but I would anticipate long and slow lines for the All Day Dining Pass restaurants.
One of the most thrilling and wonderful amusement park throughout the States. The park has countless seal creatures, guests also get chance to interact with some of them(at costhighly recommend to seat in Wet Zone at Orca, Dolphin, Sea Lion show if you don’t mind to get wet for free. Most foods there is not so enjoyable but eatable. I would recommend to get a pizza only.
Really enjoyed most of our day. My son did the swimming with dolphins experience for his birthday and I think it was the best present ever! My only "issue" is the dining. The lines are very long and we spent way too much time trying to get food. Then it was difficult to find a place to sit. Food price wasnt too bad for an amusement park. Consider the food pass.
I went on a Tuesday and it was packed. It is, of course, expensive. But my daughter and I had a blast. I loved watching the animals and all the exhibits. The penguins...they were cool. The sharks...even better. They have some new rides since Ive been there last. Love this place. And san Diego. Just make sure you have the cash.
I have always been a big fan of sea animals and this place does an excellent job of putting them on display. The trainers are awesome with their animals and the shows are VERY entertaining to watch. Fun for both adults and young kids :There were plenty of food and drink places around as well as restrooms so that was never an issue. Theres only one reason Im not giving Sea World 5 stars. I felt it was a little difficult to find my way around the park. It seemed like there were hardly any maps around the park and there were signs that pointed to the direction of the places. However, the places we were going were not always on the signs causing my group to get lost often. This wouldnt be too much of a worry except the shows are all on timed schedules and we felt like we had to rush and run to try and make it to the next show to ensure we can get in and get decent seats. Besides that I thoroughly enjoyed my time at Sea World - San Diego.
Went on a Monday morning July 4th, weather was great slight breeze 74 degrees as you enter BUY THE VIP PARKING trust me its worth it...the lines that guide you to the parking is a nightmare...theres cones and no one to tell you which cone lane youre supposed to be in...get there before it opens. The shows are all scheduled throughout the day so dont worry about missing out, take snacks and sandwiches the lines to buy food are ridiculously long...it was overall a good trip but lack of employees kept our trip from being a Great experience. Lots of restrooms well stocked and clean.
Haven’t been to Sea World in a while and this year we went. The rides are the best and the new Emperor roller coaster was so cool! Kids always have a blast, but they need to hire more workers. Place was clean and weather was great. Can’t wait to go again.
Excellent family experience. Lines for rides were reasonable. Rides were fun for all ages. Shows are still great. Upgraded to meal pass and the food was surprisingly good for a theme park. I have nothing negative to say except I wish we had gone sooner.
It was an awesome day for me to visit sea world . Rides and roller coasters gave me to get ride of fear with fun experience. I will suggest if someone going., then go early get reserved ticket and enjoy all activity. Dont miss to see fish dance show there. Have a nice day and lots of fun best of luck
My family and I visited for the first time. I was actually impressed. SeaWorld not only has sea creatures, but it also has coaster rides that will challenge other parks. It is along the sea so you get a nice sea breeze. We were delighted with the whale shows, the dolphins, seals, etc... You will see trees and plants that are beautiful. Explore the area and I guarantee you will find something special to you or your loved ones. For the price, my family and I had a wonderful time and would recommend to anyone trying to have a relaxing and enjoyable time. The only negative thing I can say is that parking was $30. For a regular car, but I felt a little better when I heard that proceedings go to protecting the sea mammals and rescues. Bless you all and wish you a happy time with your family.❤️❤️❤️
First time going to Sea World and I am so glad I didn’t listen to the bad reviews. We loved our experience at the park. It was the perfect combination of thrill, marine life, and education. I have 14 and 12 year old boys and a 8 year old girl and all were happy with the memories we created. We arrived at open and were able to get decent parking without paying the extra for preferred/reserved parking fee. We went straight to the Emperor where there was only a 10 minute wait line. Many reviews mentioned that the park was “run down” and outdated. I can see where that comes from, but it didn’t distract from the overall experience. Staff was friendly and kind and the coasters and entertainment were just what we were looking for. I also read and heard that the shows “just aren’t what they used to be”. I would expect changes to protect trainers and animals and thoroughly enjoyed the shows that we did get to see. Tips for the Orcas and Dolphins- the side of the amphitheater is where you will get the wettest. We fell in love with the beluga well and enjoyed the cleaner fish on our way out of the park. We visited the park midweek and did NOT pay for the reserved seating or skip-the-line options which would have been a total waste of money as the park was busy but not unbearable while we were there. We didn’t have to wait in line for longer than 10-15 minutes on most rides and were able to ride The Manta (my personal favoriteline-free by the end of the day. The two water rides were the longest wait mid-day but not enough to justify skip-the-line passes. We showed up for the shows 30-45 minutes early and had our pick of the theater which were better seats than the reserved seating. It was really fun to be up close to the animals. This park is doable in one day. I would definitely visit Sea World again on another trip down to San Diego.
One of the best places in San Diego! The place has many interesting shows to see like the keller whales, dolphins, sealions and otters and Adrenaline. The place has many fun rides for kids and adults. Also, there is a splash area for kids. There is a fireworks show held at the end of the day.*Always check the days schedule for the shows times. But a piece of advice from me, try not to go on the weekend to avoid the crowds and long waiting lines for the rides.Get yourself some snacks, sunshades and a hat for the hot days!
I love Sea World! The wildlife shows are spectacular. My favorite was the orcas. The rescue and rehab part of Sea World is behind the scenes but made possible by the dollars the park brings in. The rides were over the top, literally. The two big roller coasters had super short lines but were on the edge of my limit. I did scream. Highly recommend a visit to this park and the orca show.
It was great visiting Sea World for the first time on 5/28/22. General parking is $30 a bit extreme, however, they do have plenty of handicap designated parking. Although their website says no outside food is allowed, that’s not the case, you can bring snacks. Your kids will definitely have the time of their lives if they love animals.
Really liked the exhibits, especially the shark ones and the dolphin show. Lot of great rides. However the food was pricy and not very good. Still they do a lot of great work in terms of rescuing and caring for a variety of sea life and in doing environmental education.
Great place to visit with young children, the Sesame street place area is awesome ❤️ so glad that they have now also opened a second location dedicated to Sesame street only. Turtle Reef and the Shark exhibit was our favorite. All around good fun..they ran out of hot dogs but, there is a new Mexican restaurant being built in hopes that we will be able to dine on our next visit. 🐳
We got the meal deal, which was worth it for my boys. That kept them full and was fun for them to try different restaurants and food. You can get an entree, dessert and a drink every hour. It was $30 extra.I love the exhibits where you are allowed to touch the animals. The shows are the best! The trainers show a little bit of the relationship they have with the animals and have the animals show some things they can do. They also have them splash the people. There are a few rides also.
We’re going to go with a mid level rating and I will tell you why. First, if visiting especially if you are early birds like us and you have the chance come right as they open on a weekday. My wife and I rode every ride twice, saw every animal, and even stopped for food and sat and ate for 20 minutes all before 12:30, (we arrived at 10:30we then proceeded to go around the entire park twice to make sure we saw everything and even rode the manta 7 times. For anyone scared of roller coasters like yours truly I highly recommend the manta ride abs you will quickly realize why it is the park favorite. While we loved everything and recommend getting the food pass we ate 3 times for the 50 dollar food pass saving 35 dollars. We however did not like the state of the animals. For any of you gosh born viewers like us, you know fish rot is a sign of animal abuse and just plain wrong, well come to sea world and find a fish without fish rot. As well, while there was space for the dolphins, I noticed the orcas cage “habitat” was about as big about as many square feet as my apartment, which is very slim might I add. On top of all, unless your military (military gets in 1 day a year free all dayI do not recommend spending money on a place like this when you can intern pay the same amount and go to six flags or the zoo.
After reading reviews about this place, I wasnt expecting too much since the new changes. If it wasnt free to get in, I wouldnt pay full price to go here. They let you bring in water bottles but no outside food is allowed. It was not busy at all on a Thursday. I am glad we ate a big breakfast before arriving because I heard the food sucks here. The water rides I wanted to go on were closed! I spent about 5 hours here watching shows and looking at the animal exhibits. Didnt have time for the rides. Time went by fast. The San Diego zoo is way better than this place for animal lovers.
I was really happy to go Seaworld in my life. Every staffs of trainer looks so happy and the animals love them either. ❤️ It make my heart feel warm!! I also enjoyed roller-coaster. It was awesome. And the restaurants are really good!! Especially, I recommend the BBQ restaurant. I bought all day dining ticket but some restaurants use this. Funnel cake is not accepted so I paid because I was waited for a long time. I think the seaworld application need more information about all-day-dining to check what menu is accepted or not. That is only thing I ask for! It was beautiful experience for me. Thanks!!
l feel like the theme park is going to bankruptcy. I buy their idea to protect wide animal when we go there to visit their parks, buy their stuff. But I really dont see the point to go there again in the future. Many of the facilities are really aged. I feel like I am back to 90s or 00s.... the only thing I like is you can stay very close to some rare animals. Shows are good too.Overall, 3 stars is mixed feelings, only good for the first timer.I do know the cost for maintaining aqua life is way more than terrestrial life, and not very easy to remodel when built. Changing is not easy, but keep doing the same would lead the park into the end. Look at your neighbor, San Diego Zoo. Tons of visitors go there everyday, you can see their tour buses are double deck then you know how many tourists they need to take care. Look at the Monterey bay aquarium, see how they well keep over there, and personally I dont mind to visit there many times, it is just beautiful. You guys are public company, just think out of the box. Good luck.
Outrageously expensive! First, their discounted tickets did not land on our day, go figure. Second, $30 for parking in their parking lot after spending $75 per ticket via Groupon. Then, many rides dont allow you to keep your purse or backpack so you must pay a minimum of $2-3 for a locker. Most rides do not have all stations open and offer you a line skip for a fee...one was $53 to skip the line which we obviously did not pay for. The place is a money pit, rip off. The animal shows were wonderful and they do rescue and care for many animals. The rides were fun.
Really cool experience with young kids! Ive grown up going to seaworld and now we got to take our kids ages 3 and 1. Young kids especially find all the animals super fascinating! They spend lots of time in the underground aquariums just watching the animals swim by... before leaving we cooled off at the splash area (which def needs more splash zones! 3 water spouts is not enough!)
This was a really fun and enjoyable day. The weather was perfect and I got to pet dolphins and got splashed by an orca. You cant do that everyday and they seem to be really focused on the health and safety of the animals which is nice.
SeaWorld San Diego is a top place to visit when you’re in Southern California. I’ve been several times when I was younger, and we have been going once a month since we got passes back in September. The passes were a great deal price wise, and they don’t require reservations to enter. The biggest draw is the opportunity to create great family memories while learning about sea life, and potentially sparking an interest in our kids. I recommend getting there at least a half an hour early, so you can be a head of the crowds, especially if you want to hit one of the most popular rides. Though choosing to go off season, not the summertime, the park doesn’t see to be overly crowded, and even better on a weekday. We found navigating the park to be a little confusing, so download a map ahead of time, and check out where some of the most popular attractions are (Electric Eel, Journey to Atlantis, Manta). The list the attractions that are closed at the entrances to the parking lot, so check that out as you enter. The shows play a few times each day, so check the website for that, or you can ask an employee. I’m not a fan of the food. It seems like overpriced cafeteria food. We’ve started to leave the park to eat, but that might not be an option for a day visit, where you can easily loose an hour or more. I do appreciate the opportunity to see unique animals, and respect their conservation efforts.
Beautiful place, lot of attractions for kids and no queues, dolphin show was great. They are beautiful animals and have been taken care very well inside. ORCA - whale show was amazing. Beautiful creature and showed all skills. They performed very well to a new skills about shapes and they did amazing job. It was great. Less crowded.
Overall, it was a nice day for a visit. I recommend purchasing tickets in advance. Discounts are available via AAA and other websites. Buy a pass that includes parking and discounts inside the park. Food is overpriced; however, some of the proceeds go to the conservative and rescue efforts of the animals and the ocean. Masks are only required when indoors. Social distancing is a personal challenge and not enforced by the park.
SeaWorld was amazing! I loved all the shows. The choreography is top notch and nothing I have ever seen has even come close. Unfortunately, I only knocked off a star because I could not enjoy the rides because of the rain. I know "acts of God" is not their fault. I just wished they had amenities in the event of things like rain. Maybe small canopy areas for rain and extreme sun.
The kiddos and I absolutely loved the place! We went in December and it was not crowded at all. My son was selected to be apart of the dolphin show. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is because of so many rides not running. We were only able to ride one coaster. Little side note, go visit the nibbler fish tanks....your kiddos will giggle with fun!
