Sea Aquarium Bergen, Van der Wijckplein 16, 1865 AP Bergen aan Zee, Netherlands, Katwijk aan Zee
Aquarium featuring seals, sharks, piranhas, rays & more, plus a sperm whale skeleton.
That was funny😄
Small in size but well kept. The main attraction must be the pool where you can pet stingrays and sharks
All in all is the price of almost 16 euro per person to high for the amount of time to spend and the size of the place. In and out in about an hour.Half of the aquariums are on viewing hight for adults. So the kids have to be carried. Not that handy. That whole place is a bit like a tunnel, except not make as a tank tunnel, pity. The pool to pet some fish is nicely done. Seems the fish even like it, as the keep coming.Seals seem to have a bit small size, specially after reading the distance they would normally travel each day. They can also see they whole tank at ones. So nothing to discover again. The rather large movie theater, with a Attenborough movie, would better be a nice tank...
Sea aquarium with a unappealing aesthetic. A bit outdated. The "cinema" really takes away the vibe of a nice aquarium. Nobody cares about seeing some outdated movie in a cheap chair while they can enjoy documentaries on demand at home. The water however was clean and the animals well kept.some animals unique and not to be found in other aquariums. (Get ready to be amazed!)Really surprised with the sight of two "big sea animals" outside as well (not going to give any details just go and see)Cute little gift shop.Nice place to go for max a hour before or after visiting the sea or restaurant.I hope they refurbish the place so it can withstand the tooth of time.
Our visit lasted about one hour and we are really slow when visiting zoos, museums or aquariums. For this one hour the price was quite high. The seals outside have very little space and most of the descriptions of the fishes were extremely short and not informative at all.
Cool. Worth the trip up from Haarlem but only because my son is obsessed with fish. Nice beach right outside. The seals seem unhappy though.
Zee aquarium Bergen aan zee is an awesome place to go with your kids. The nicest thing is the open tank they have where you can pet the stingrays! I never thought one could pet a fish, and they actually seems to like the attention :)The price is bit expensive for the size of the place, I think €10 per adult would be a fair amount.
Very cute aquarium! A bit one the smaller side but thats alright. The seals were amazing!
Park inside of barrier take your ticket in for discount, then put the ticket in machine to pay to exit. Lockers available inside once paid entry €0.50. Toilets and baby change.Alot of amazing fish 🐟 really well done, alot of different species in a compact size aquarium, go round again and see something you missed the first time, sharks sting rays piranhas and the seahorse were very cool. Toilets clean. Definitely worth a visit. We were here for 1hr with 3 kids.
One would be forgiven for mistaking this ichthyological odyssey for a sequel to The Shape of Water. With each flick of her ball gown train, these fish mesmerize. Swirls of sequin and silk hypnotize the casual observer. Sartorial delights aside, the composition of cinematic sweeps across a veritable estuary leaves one yearning for a life before land. The salt in our blood dances with these aquatic vertebrates.
Very small. There are also no rules regarding covid. The few Fishes that were there were quite nice. I would definitely not recommend it. We paid over 30€ for 2 Adults and 1 Child. For that it was a way to small Aquarium.
Its a nice place but for €14.00 id expect a bigger place or at least a lot more information /educational plaques. Probably more suited to children than adults in my opinion.
It is small and the collection is a bit average. But good for the little town. My kid enjoyed it and also sat down for the cinema show. The employees are generally smiling and active.
Nice aquarium, much larger on the inside than you would expect. However, most of the cages feel to small for the animals kept inside
The stuff was friendly and the shell exhibition is great! Never seen such a detailed a beautiful collection before. The entrance price would be okay, if the exhibition would concentate more on environment protection and education. I think that the sting ray petting is more an entertainment event than a sign of respect to the nature and wild animals. No one can control if people and small children treat them good. Also a fewof the aquariums and especially the sealaquarium seem to be from another time in the past.Selling dead starfish in the the souvenir shop is also not necessary. So if some things here would improved I would recommend it!
The fish were nice and the aquarium was not busy, but we were a bit disappointed as the aquarium was a lot smaller than we thought.
Fun, lots to see and you can even pet a ray or small shark! Prices are steep but theres nothing in the area quite like it.
Good access and interesting collection of sea animals, dog friendly place
Adding text after Sea Aquarium Review: It is a really nice place to enjoy sea life. We found it a nice break and even though our kid is less than year old. IT was fun to walk around aquariums and look into beautiful creatures sea has.
Nice place to visit while going to the beach in Bergen Sand Zee. My kids loved it.
It is indeed a nice place, but... I find it way overpriced for what is offered or the amount of time you spend there. I understand costs are high, but paying 35 euros (1 grown up and two kidsfor about an hours worth of visit is too much.
Nice place to go if the weather doesnt allow cycling, going to the beach or you have half a day to educate yourself.Probably a 60 to 90 minutes dive into the Sea and educate both the littles and the grown ups.Cant compare to Lisbon or Atlanta aquariums. Way smaller but still a very good place to go and discover underwater life and species including a handful of interesting life forms that are bound to land.
Nice, but we were expecting something a little bigger... Thats really a small place.
Nice place to go with kids. We took our niece (5and nephew (3and the loved it. Some of the aquariums are a bit too high for small kids, but there is a little ledge they can stand on. There are a couple of seals, lots of fish, some shellfish and shells.
Its a small aquarium. That said I dont have all that much experience with aquariums. Small chairs are present for kids to grab and sit in front of the larger tanks or climb on to look at the rays in the open pool which is a nice touch. The kids (2 years oldenjoyed it but what you see with relation to what you pay leaves somewhat to be desired. A nice experience nonetheless.Edit: thanks for replying. Of course we understand! Have a lovely weekend!
So fun. Take your time and enjoy, you will be surprised how much knowledge you can gain here.
Its a small aquarium, but has everything youd want. Make sure you touch the sting rays and definitely hangout with the very active octopus.
It is not the biggest Sea Aquarium you ever saw but it is nicely arranged, informative and a nice stopover with small children. Only most of the small basins in the back were to high for children, so papa had to raise the little one all the time.
Be ready thats small and local aquarium, but still nice to visit if you nearby
Very awesome aquarium . Loved it.
At aquarium today nearby. Interesting area.
Very expensive for the small aquarium with less aquariums than expected. Most of them are quite smal and the fises cant really move around. The parking for the aquarium is more expensive than the public parking beside. You will also only see a few variety of other animals such as spiders, snakes, frogs, chameleons and more. And do not miss the seals outside. One of them was really playing with the public. Also do not hesitate to pet the few rays in the open bqssin, it is worth it!Sad note: Some of the glasses were not clean making it hard to see the animals behind which was disappointing.
Very good place. It is a rather small aquarium but very good species. The tanks are at adult height with a step for children. The fish spa is also very enjoyable. Highly recommend!
Fantastic place! We had a great visit, thank you!
Its a bit too Small for €14 per adult. Also, I worry about the sea lion, does he have a friend?
(SEA)worthy experience! Always happy to see my fav Amazon family: the piranha. A MUST GO!
Nice place for children, a bit small but nice design so children can see and touch the fish even...
Nice place..attraction for Kids
Child friendly and interesting, if a bit on the small side for its admission fee.
Small and amazing, , i had few amazing hours with my daughter , when i say small i mean cozzy ,i did enjoy a lot
Nice relax place to go. It is for one hour or little bit longer to stay. After visiting aquarium is beach near by. Just join what you see 😉
Very nice place, lots of fish varieties to see, also you can touch and pet sting fishes. Kids enjoyed it a lot. Will definitely come back!
Very nice sea aquarium with lots of things to see and nice staff. The gift shop has good items for a reasonable price. Recommended!
Great place but to small for us.
No value for money. Few rows of fish tanks. Concept from 40 years ago. We were outside in half an hour. There is very very little info about the fish on the displays. Not worth the drive. Best thing is, the beach is around the corner. Looks more like someones hobby. There are better things in the area for less money.
Not the place to spent hours of fish watching.
Very nice Attractions. But quite small. And a little bit expensive.
Small but cute Aquarium. For visitors on a budget, the entrance alone is worth a visit with huge hanging whale skeleton.Pet (touchstingrays and other fish! Great place to spend some hours at with the kids.
This is really a nice aquarium to see. Very nice murene! A lot to see to spend the afternoon!
Not worth going there. We paid 39€ for the two of us plus 4 year old Kid. The Aquariums are far too small and if you great each fish and ask for his name you will not need more time then one hour to see everything.
