Terrible experience!
Harry , our guide was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and made the trip fun . I would highly recommend the trip . Thanks
Guided tour worths to immerse into the local history.
Three very unprofessional two young guys serving today at 1420. Very rude and closed all the windows to take a “break” - to have a cigarette and play on their phones. Had to wait 20 minutes past the booked time for them to finish. Absolutely disgusted.
Great experience! The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We hired the canoes for 1.5 hours which is enough time. Safety equipment is provided.
Nice place to rent SUP boards, kayaks and punting boats
Enjoyed Punting alot... Got a good punter where he explained about every building history. It was totally 45min trip. Tickets are available near Mathematical bridge and it costs 20£ per adult, 10£ per kid and 18£ per students.
Had a great time kayaking up towards grantchester from central Cambridge with this boating company. They also offer canoes and punts. It was £27 for 90 minutes which was a good length of time. The view from the river is beautiful. I booked on the day and it was quite a busy weekend. It is cheaper first thing in the morning. Probably a little more expensive than you would like considering you can buy a kayak for about £100 but the boats are alright and the staff seem nice. I would book before going to save hassle.
This was our 2nd time punting through Cambridge. Fernando was a wonderful storyteller/guide. This is a must if you are looking for things to do with family/friends visiting. Thank you for a lovely tour!
Great, the female guide Theo made the trip.
A must if youre visiting Cambridge. Get the guided tour – the guides are very informative and funny (and peaceful because theres no engine).I was amazed by what we learned about the colleges, stories and history. Such a great all round experience!
Prices are very high, equipment needs updating.
Great team at Scudamores. Really happy to help and advise.
Lovely punt along the CAM. Great Punter, discrete and efficient
Beautiful River trail with a variety of different boats to use. Booked in advance online and was easy to do so. Friendly staff and a great experience.
It was a nice experience. Dont expect much help if you dont know how to puddle so better to be prepared .
Great service, we hired a punt and headed out to the meadows!Helpful instructions on how to use the punt and river etiquette.Lovely way to spend an afternoon.
Was a great punt ride. The guide was very informative, interesting and comical at the same time. It was relaxing albeit it rained a bit. This was overcome with the umbrellas provided. Would definitely do it again. Hopefully when the weather is a little better.
Great Trip. We had the pleasure of taking a tour with "The Rudder". Good Times.
Great servive and good knowledgeable staff.Very good day.
Very insightful tour w/ good safety standards.
Great fun. Hard work. Tricky but fun. Beautiful (went towards Grantchester). Staff were fabulous.
Super informative and a greatly relaxing experience punting down the river cam. Our guide answered all of our questions and we loved the little stories he told us as we passed certain landmarks. Definitely recommend!
Great attention. We only punted for 20 minutes and the attendant wouldn’t even let us pay.
Just finished punting with Scudamores. The boat was fun, but it was not full, which was really nice to have space. I was really disappointed in the actual guide though. His knowledge was terribly lacking. We could overhear other punter guides who had alot more to say. Our guide told us that Henry VIII "didnt like the Catholic Church so he got rid of it". Hum. Has he heard if Anne Boleyn? He also said bad Mary was a "woman who did bad things"... neglected to mention she was the Queen of England and daughter of Henry the VIII!!Aug 23,2019 1:20pm tour if it helps you identify guide.
Great experience! You should try the double kayak!
Very enjoyable hour on a punt with very informative guide
Yes its overpriced, but it is still pretty cool. Would recommend bringing some bubbles or Pimms, some people were really enjoying themselves!
Glaring monopoly taking over river controlling central riverways with their floating docks and shops giant size punts blocking of all public access & exits points with their elitist cambridge university student brokers dealers
Great experience....just wished it lasted abit longer
One of the best things to do in Cambridge or dare I say if you are visiting London. The tour is scenic and peaceful. Our tour guide was just amazing. Told us a lot about the place and the colleges and different people who have studied there. A must do activity.
One hour boat along canal experience. Boatman explained the buildings and bridges. Interesting tour. Fair price. Best boat company around here.
Amazing tour, great tour guide taking us through the river showing us different historical buildings and bridges sharing some amazing stories with us. I definitely recommend it. We got the tickets for 17 pounds per person for a 45 mins shared tour. We shared the punt with 12 people and the guide. It was a nice experience.
Superb day out! Highly recommend a days punting. Take a picnic! 😊
Wonderful! Best to get a four or five in your group to get a good price for a self-serve as you pay per punt, per hour. Very relaxing and if you do it yourself, you can learn a new skill.
Disappointed. Booked for 2 of us and took a later punt so we could be sat together. Turns out we still couldnt be and ended up taking the tour back to back. Slightly spoilt the experience. The river was very busy although that is to be expected on such a beautiful Sunday. The tour guide Michael was also very good..I will however add to this post that the staff have been really good upon speaking to them about this and were very apologetic so have upped my stars.
A great trip down the river. Helpful staff at the mooring, an expert and knowledgeable guided tour.
Once you come to cambridge, one of the famous activities is to go for punting by University student. They serve both shared and whole punting. The big boat can seat up to 12 ppl. It takes 45 mins along cam river passing thru 8 universities and 9 bridges. We were informed the detail of places along the river. P.S. We were waiting for half an hour or over during summer as the weather is very good.
Chaotic pricey but fun watch out for the professionals some are helpful but others barge you out of the way.
A massive shout out to Guy our guide for the afternoon. We enjoyed every moment of our 45 minute ride and at no point did it feel rushed at all. It was very educational about fun facts of Cambridge, University knowledge and Guy even made it great by asking questions along the wayTips for an even better ride: grab a pint at the pub across the street and bring it on board. Nothing better than the sun and a great drink!
Good service but there are too many tourists.
Well built boats and good services. They provided me hot water bottle when the weather was nearly freezing.
Good service, ask for student discounts . they have some nice guides.
Leon our punter was v good, v good at avoiding collisions and acted as an excellent guide. Nice relaxed 45 mins on the river. Well worth a go tho speak to the guys with boards as you get a good discount. We got £6 pp off!!! 😂😂😂
Our guide was the young lady with the ring through her nose. She was excellent with a heap of interesting stories and a laid back approach. Ideal on such a lovely summers day.
We took a shared punt tour on 04/07/16 at 4.20. Our chauffeur was Jake and he was brilliant. His commentary was really informative, he was polite and friendly and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Thank you Jake - you are a credit to the company
We had an absolutely fantastic time punting at Scudamores for my hen party last week. They and their staff completely went above and beyond for us. When we arrived early the owner helpfully recommended a nearby historical site that we could peruse while we waited for our punt to be made ready. Nic W was our punter and he was incredible. When one of the hen party members left her phone behind in the boat he actually found us later on in Cambridge to return it. We could not have asked for better service. 5 stars. We will certainly return again.
One of the punt guides was rude and thuggish. Its also way overpriced, be sure to bargain and not pay more than 15 pounds per person (10 pounds per person if in a large-ish group).
Went on a quided tour a few days ago, and despite the lack of sun I had a lovely time ! The guide was great, had lots of interesting anecdotes and history to share about the river and made sure we were happy, warm and dry all throughout our tour! The stretch of river he took us on is extremely beautiful, and it was very relaxing to just sit back and let him do all the hard work !!A great experience, will definitely go again!
Not cheap, but very knowledgeable guides and a great way to see and learn about the Colleges along the Cam.
