Riverfront, 620-acre park providing forested trails, scenic bluffs, a playground & picnic shelters
Hosted an event in which people came from all over the state for an informal networking and training session. The Park Rangers were extremely helpful, the facility is beautiful and immaculate, and perfect to host any event.
Great place to walk and enjoy a little bit of nature.
Its beautiful and peaceful to walk around
I was there today at the drone landing and went on a walk. Came back and a guy broke in to my car and stole my wallet. My car was locked. So heads up a guy is breaking in to cars there.
Great park, plenty of shelters and picnic tables. Appeared to have designated camping areas by the river as well as an archery range
I really enjoyed it here. Great park with a good amount of trails. Mostly shaded, but some sunny patches too. Also some open green spaces to play frisbee or soccer.Dog friendly and my Labrador mix had a good time sniffing around on his walk here.
2 days ago I pulled into this park because I had hit a pot hole and got a flat tire. It was just me and my 7 yr old daughter in the rain. The dark haired female park ranger working Saturday around 12:30 stopped and offered to try and help us in any way she could. I told her I had it under control but she stopped back 2 more times to make sure we got back on the road. Thank you so much!
Beautiful serene park hugging the Scioto River. Great river hike and trails in general.
Beautiful park to bring the dog and children! Lots to see and explore as well as fun activities offered!
This was our first time visiting Scioto Grove . Its a great park love the walking trails!
This park is a good sized place for any family. Its a hidden gem if you live near it. Easy stream access, camping zone, even archery and fishing. Theres a lot to do and plenty to see.
The park officers were great. They were so awesome and nice. The river was trashed. The deer looked like zombies. Wild as hell.
Did the 2 mile REI River Trail. The trail is great. You can find it on All Trails to follow the trail loops. Lucky for us it had not rained in a while so the trails were dry and well marked. But I can see how they would be muddy and covered with rains and if the river would flow over. So keep that in mind. There is a lot of parking, bathrooms, play area for kids and ample picnic areas. There were a few fire pit areas that would be nice to use. Stopped to enjoy each overlook we came to. Those were a nice touch. Planning on returning in the season to do the longer 5 mile trail (4.9 miles). I recommend you check this out. We went on a Sunday around 11am and there weren’t many people there so it was really relaxing and nice. Our only sad part was all of the trash. The river overflows and deposits all of the trash (mostly plasticall over the landscape. It was so sad and makes me want to being a trash bag with us the next time to pick up what we can reach.
If you want to go out and relax with family or friends this is the place. Theres alot to do at this park, theres a play area for the kids. The trail goes by the river thats what makes this place so nice
One of my favorite parks in Central Ohio. Absolutely beautiful park. The trials that wind around the banks of the river are so peaceful. They have camp sites strewn all over the park that I have really wanted to try as well, just have to get the time.
A great space for so many activities! Hiking, running, playground, open spaces for games, etc. The paths and trails are well maintained. Clean restrooms as well. Would definitely visit again if in the area.
On the south end of the park, where the archery range is, there is a path in the tree line for the frisbee golf course.Out of curiosity I took this path over a hill and stumbled on a section of the park that I thought was just a frisbee golf course but found another if not more scenic area of the park.
What a wonderful newer metro park. It has such a serene setting next to the river. The park was completed in phases ao there may be more to come. There are paved paths fir walking and bike riding and more rugged next to the river experiences also. They have lots to offer such as access to a Grove City bike trail, an archery range, a rope bridge over a creek that leads to the river, a playground, shelter houses, a kids fishing pond, and kayak access points at the top and bottom of the park.
Great metro park, just south of Columbus. There are a lot of paths to take, fishing at the pond, a playground, archery, and even some camp sites. Just note for camping: they only allow camping on weekends and only during warm months...for some reason.
Beautiful park with awesome trails, nice over-hang lookout areas and millions of spots to stop and soak in the nature. Could spend the whole day.
Always a good time here. The hikes are good and the playground is good for kids. The shelters are modern and would be great for hosting a party. I haven’t camped overnight but the sites are great and spread out.
Nice park to walk it sound like a park
Beautiful park and dog friendly!! Very well maintained!
This park started out small and has grown to be a very nice park, nice walking trails and pretty scenery. The Tokes memorial here is beautiful ( may she rest in peace ). They have a fishing pond, nice camping sites, playground is nice, Frisby golf course, archery range, picnic tables with grills some sheltered, very clean also. Just be sure to take a trash bag to clean up after yourself and dogs so we can continue to enjoy the clean park
Pretty fun course, but it can be unforgiving. A few holes close to very deep water, and some very thick rough can eat discs. Some of the terrain could prove difficult to some. I wouldnt bring beginners here unless you decide to skip a few of the more treacherous holes. As a more intermediate player, I enjoy this course very much.
LOVE this park! It’s my go to. The trails are great and it has nice open fields, a playground, and a fire pit for get togethers. It has so much more, something for everyone!
Beautiful park and trails. Not usually very crowded
This is a nice park for families to enjoy. The playground is designed for older children 5 and up. There are several picnic spots with tables available. The trails were not paved where we started and not accessible for people in wheelchairs. This park is pretty big, so there could be other parts that are paved. There are fire pits available to use as well. The path to the bridge consists of mulch and is pretty easy-except for the steep hill at the start of the trail. Springtime is great for seeing all of the wildflowers!
One of the most well kept city parks I have seen. Big bonus points for having a dedicated drone area, far away enough from people to safely take off and land. Got great sunset shots!!!
Great trail! Super pretty and easy to traverse! My son LOVES this place and he hates going outside lol
Hike to the swinging bridge! Loved the hills and hiking right next to the water, and they cleared an area (of invasive honeysuckleso you can actually see and get near the river. The whole park is Dog friendly. The swinging bridge is a good destination for a reasonable walk, but you can continue for a longer walk. There is camping here! The river is beautiful, but then I like being around water! Walking sticks are nice if you have them, and I was the only one wearing ice cleats, but they sure were handy for going up and down the few hills with snow and ice on the ground. Or you could walk the other way for less of an incline. Its well worth a 20-30 minute drive if you want to hike here for a change.
The trails are lovely and not crowded. Not super challenging but a very nice experience and the backpacking, archery and canoeing are a nice added bonus. We will be back to do a quick overnight backpacking adventure.
Great park that has camping spots, kayaking launch location, hiking trails, play area, picnic areas, fishing ponds, river access, wooden rope bridge.
The most amazing and best kept secret ! There were a lot of ppl ; however its so vast in space it doesnt seem crowded ever
The parks that are part of the Columbus Metro Park system continue to be amazing places to take your kids for outdoor activities. Scioto Grove along the river is awesome. Easy hiking trails throughout the park but the signage could improve a little bit. Thought I was on the REI river trail but in reality I was just making my own trail. I ended up climbing up the side of the hill to find the true trail. Noticed three other families get confused and took the wrong path while trying to get to the Rope Bridge. The rope triangle playground is fun for all our ages. My daughter climbed up six or seven times and would have climbed it more if we didn’t have to leave. The playground is even strong enough for a grown adult to climb up.Despite the minor issues with the trail signage this park doesn’t disappoint and lives up to the high level of quality that Columbus Metro Parks produces.
Very acceptable walking biking picnic areas i will be coming here often so beautiful
Very nice place to visit. Would be a good place to take an elderly person fishing.
Had a great time walking around this park. lots of parking, clean and clear trails, fields to play sports in, long walks available. We walked about 5 mi round trip and there was plenty more walking that we didnt get to. lots of river views and places to get close to the water. dog friendly! bathrooms on site. Both paved and unpaved trails (only unpaved trough the woods). The unpaved trails were mostly smooth and flat with few roots growing in them so it was an easy walk. Off the trails we walked through the woods a bit and found a few child sized forts I the woods! BE CAREFUL if it has just rained as the mud gets extremely slippery by the riverbanks, I fell in 😂
I was really surprised to find out they have backpacking sites here. They are very well maintained.
Nice trails to walk on. View the wetlands, found a few frogs.Plenty of butterflys to greet you while walking on the trails. Much more to see so, I will keep returning.
Very nice park for metro area. The disc golf course is it good beginner course. The park also offers archery range, a playground for the kids, hiking and biking trails , and catch and release fishing ponds. All in all not a bad place to spend the day with the family
Visited from out of town and came to walk the trails for exercise. Fantastic walking trails and nice access to the water. Saw a baby deer on my walk. Beautiful wildflower fields, and very nice picnic and playground areas. There was a couple guys using the archery range too which looked really cool. The whole park is very well maintained.
Scioto Grove has more wooded area than many of the Metroparks Ive been to so far. Right now I only rate this below highbanks out of the approximate 10 Metroparks that Ive been to
This is a great place to visit with your kids and even with friends for long walks and for relaxation. Such peace and silence makes a person feel good . Also there are various adventure activities for children like biking and trailing and a few of rides and swings are also available.
Such a beautiful park!! There are so many options for different activities. We hiked some amazing trails, and the park was great for kids. The bathrooms near the huge playground were so nice, as well!
Beautifully kept. Amazing archery range with 3d course in the woods and target bags. There is a nice pond to fish near the range. Only negative thing to say is that they put disc golf course right next to archery. Both archers and disc golfers feel its not a she combination
One of the few metro parks that has unimproved trails, and one that allows more access with pets. A nice mix of meadows and wooded areas.
Nice trails and archery range is cool. Will be bringing my bow back!
Good trails, good view of the water and local wildlife, and they finally added Pokéstops. Because apperently thats a feature that people look for in a park now.
Im so disappointed about this park. I was very excited by the idea of having a park so close but its not what we were expecting. Definitely not a fan of the playground at all and neither were other parents that was there with their kids. The nature part of the park is great, the trails, overlooks, pond, but the rest not so much. The playground definitely isnt for small children, its made completely out of rope with two slides. Not very many kids can play at the same time and its dangerous for young kids. We definitely thought there would be some great play areaS, not just one not so great area. The picnic areas arent anything to brag about either. We thought now well have a park close to do birthday parties there now, we were wrong. Unlike other parks, this park has a couple very small shelter houses with very little seating. The other picnic areas near the playground is one table per grill. You better be able to fit all of your food and family at that one small table. Hopefully they arent done and will be adding a better play area and better seating, well see.
