Rosewood London, 252 High Holborn, Holborn, London WC1V 7EN, Nikel'
Refined bar at the Rosewood Hotel offering whiskies, cocktails & food in clubby digs.
So funny. Thank you for this memorable night. Drinks were good and so was the staff.
Perfect place for a social...buzzy and lively atmosphere in stylish surroundings.
This was such a nice bar. Lovely ambiance great live music and some very interesting fixtures. They also have a nice outdoor section.
Every cocktail.... was great!!! The people at the bar were friendly and helpful providing recommendations based on my more common favourite cocktail choices. In addition to the amazing drinks was the ambiance and live jazz. I will certainly be back again. Five stars!
Shameful Racist ExperienceI went on a Friday evening with my partner when the bouncer/ door man told me the place is full. He advised that we can only enter when someone leaves the bar and asked us to wait.We were the only ones waiting. Shortly a group of seven people came out followed by another couple in few mins. I asked to be let inside as he had told us we can only go in when someone comes out - and there I have 9 people coming out.He called the bar manager to ask us to be let in. The bar manager came outside, had a look at us then went inside. Once inside he immediately called the bouncers and told them not to let us in.The bouncer conveyed this to us and said he is helpless as he would have let us in if the manager had not prohibited him from doing so.The managers decision to not let us in was purely due to our skin colour and ethnicity. This was subtle and implicit racism at its finest. Me and my partner felt very distressed and dehumanized. It is deplorable that such racist behaviour is openly practiced and nurtured at Scarfes Bar. I would warn anyone who believes in equality to strongly condemn this behaviour and I demand a public apology.
A fantastic place, unfortunately spoiled by a couple of things.Firstly, the live music from the New Classics (I think theyre called), was absolutely sensational. The drinks were excellent too. However, in between the live sets the music was completely inappropriate for the venue and was just so loud. We asked the waiter if they could turn it down a little, because we had to shout to speak to the person next to us. He said he would and nothing changed. It was really maddening and completely ruined the atmosphere. Also, the waiter, although obviously busy, would take our glasses away without asking, which was also really annoying because often there was still drink in them! The staff were generally polite and courteous though and I loved the fireplace. If they could make these relatively small tweaks, I wouldnt hesitate to give 4 or 5 stars.
Gorgeous cocktail lounge in Rosewood Hotel. Bartenders make incredible drinks and do so with great flare. The atmosphere is classic England with all the trimmings including live piano. Drinks come with nibbles and the service is as good as it gets. This is a classic cocktail lounge with style and class but not stuffy or twee. Marco was my bartender and hes a true artist. Its a must stop if youre visiting London.
Extremely high quality cocktails, on the priced side but it’s def a gastronomic alcoholic treat
One of the best bars in London for atmosphere woth live music every night. The special cocktail menu has great drinks and the bar can do classics too. The service is excellent with attentive staff and fast service.
Outstanding bar and entertainment experience. Live music, fantastic cocktails and an opulently beautiful venue...whats not to like?
Fabulous bar at the heart of Holborn with an innovative cocktail menu (regularly changingand very well balanced old fashioned. Excellent service, all drinks come with a generous amount of snacks. Sit at the bar to witness the action or in one of the comfy chairs and sofa in a library setting. On weekends, expect live piano and singing (you can even request songs). A hidden gem and yes its air conditioned so heat wave proofed.
Recommended by cocktail god David Wondrich, this place is a haven. Had perhaps the best whiskey cocktail of my life here with bee pollen. Despite the posh digs they let us in while I was dressed in my walking around London tourist clothes (the crew in black tuxes by the piano were far more appropriately dressed). Talented, fast bartenders. Definitely stop by.
The bar is dark and rather pretentious, but we needed somewhere with lounge chairs and it met that need. They do bring you plenty of olives and nuts, which were delicious albeit that you pay for them in the price of the drinks. The range of non-alcoholic cocktails was disappointingly small and the one I chose was so unpleasant that I couldnt drink it.
Superb ambience, service and drinks! My fav cocktail bar in London hands down. So classy :)
Perfectly mixed drinks - what more do you really need - but Scarfes up the ante with friendly service and a comfortable atmosphere. Special thanks to Francesco who took great care of us.
Great band playing staff lovely and you have the experience of going through into the hotel for a peek at how the other half live. Great art and experience not to be missed. The drinks expensive but still worth a visit
Really enjoyed the drinks and live music here. What a great place!
The service is fantastic with unique cocktails and entertainment to match. They have a beehive on the roof so had to try a honey cocktail.Great experience, highly recommended.
Extremely elegant and with an interesting history. Delicious cocktails and great service! Good live piano live music on Saturdays
A big thank you to Leonardo to guided me to a brilliant cocktail journey experience which blow my mind out. And by the way the location looks gorgeous.
Incredible cocktails and great snack menu, the live music was also amazing, fab bar!!
The atmosphere is nice but there is a big lack of passion from the bar staff. It felt for me that they just had to do their job but that’s it. When I arrived at the bar I got asked if I would like to have a water... usually at high level cocktail bars like the scarfes bar, the water is standard and doesn’t end up on your bill... (I didn’t asked for a bottled water)! The staff was quick and the bar snacks (nuts and olivesvery nice. The cocktail was ok, nothing outstanding.
Excellent pre theatre drinks in such a cool bar. Opens at 4pm so a good choice for late afternoon drinks away from Covent Garden madness if you are going to the theatre. Great interior decoration featuring Scarfe’s work, including fun statues on the tables. Can’t wait to return again!
One of London’s most beautiful hotel bars, with an exciting cocktail menu full of delicious sips. Dog friendly and fabulous live music nights.
Fantastic atmosphere and fabulous drinks. Truly world class.
Very charming and elegant! Visited on a Monday night and were welcomed with the soft melody of live blues music. The bar itself was very intricately designed with a libarian/1920s theme. The precision of the cocktails was immaculate! Smooth and perfect cocktails...Best in London!
Simply amazing! Great cocktails, super friendly team and amazing live band Mr Flood!! Thank you Ludevico and the bar man for making our evening just perfect.
Delicious, moreish drinks in a cool and comfortable setting, with good tunes and friendly attentive staff. Whats not to like? I suppose ideally Id move the bar closer to home and drop the prices a touch so I would drink there all the time.
Elequently delightful. Pleasing small band consisting of a pianist /singer and 1 or 2 chums. Feels like a club from the 30s or similar. Waiters really know their drinks, apparently 400 whiskies! Our drinks were £20 each. 4 drinks and suddenly a bill for £86. On the menu I saw a Glenmorangie for £40, and another Glenmorangie for £425, a shot. We will go back but probably only have the one next time! In my photo is an Old Fashioned (using Jamesons)
Really lovely atmosphere and attentive staff. Cocktails are superb.Definitely feels like you’ve been taken back in time as you enter this bar.Highly recommend for a special occasion!
Still as wonderful as I remember. The cocktails are always great, the atmosphere busy but relaxed, the decor to die for. Very attentive staff and great live music. One of London’s gems!
Amazing bar, fantastic atmosphere, beautiful surroundings and great staff. The music was wonderful too when we visited (thank you Kitty and Nick!)
Had the most incredible experience here last night. The staff and service was absolutely fantastic and the cocktail list was interesting and well thought out. When you scan the QR code on the menu, you answer a few questions and it pairs you to a cocktail that matches your personality. Ours were absolutely wonderful and had such nice combinations of flavours. The atmosphere was warm and inviting and every bartender was kind, friendly and made us feel very at home. Probably our best experience at a bar in London so far and we would definitely recommend a visit here! We will definitely return too. :)
Killer live jazz band, and amazing drinks to matched the decadent atmosphere/bar. What more could you want, especially for a mid-week tipple! Also: try their unique Cocktail bar, where you get to choose your drink by “feel” or “ways of thinking”. Sure to get conversations going ;).
Top place, good atmosphere, excellent selection of drinks, good serving and live music
Finally was able to visit Scarfes for my birthday, an absolute bucket list must for any cocktail fan.An absolutely beautiful bar, amazing menu and equally brilliant ambiance. The music throughout the night was amazing and always on perfect. Will definitely return again on a Friday or Saturday for the live music.Drinks were absolutely perfect and very imaginative. Definitely recommend being adventurous and getting something you wouldnt normally.Just overall amazing, an absolute must visit. If you liked my review feel free to give it a 👍 and follow me on Google Maps for more reviews!
Amazing atmosphere, especially in the evening with the live music. Cocktails were delicious, albeit very expensive! Definitely worth one drink and we didn’t feel rushed even though it was a Friday evening. There was no skimping on the nibbles, olives and nuts replenished frequently. Loved the caricature theme. Will be back for a near future special occasion.
Scarfes Bar had such a lovely warm atmosphere, with its low lighting, its soft tones of laughter, quiet conversation, jazz music playing beautifully in the background, and to leave out how well dressed, polite and handsome the waiting staff would be tragic 😉Fit for business and pleasure I was there on both as I discussed my brand and my book Operation Six: Matters of the Head and Heart with a friend whom I work closely with. Highly recommend 🙂
My favourite go to lounge bar in London. Central location. Fantastic ambience snd decor. Very stylish rustic furniture. Relaxed atmosphere with open fireplace.Extensive drinks menu with tea available. Very friendly waiting staff. New uniform of tartan trousers- very stylish.Easy to book in advance. Opens from 4pm. No time limit to the duration that you can stay. Easily some of the best bathrooms/washrooms in London.
Amazing experience as always at the Rosewood. Great for cosy dates where you want to impress and for catching up with loved ones. Service is consistently smooth and attentive. Well worth visiting simply for the atmosphere and setting alone. Try to go when there is live jazz music!Drinks are on the pricier end but that comes with any upscale bar offering what Scarfes does, so well worth it for special occasions. Would say it’s great value for money. Our waitress was incredibly informed on all the drink options, what they contained and how they were served which we really appreciated. Loved the concept of choosing a cocktail via the menu in the form of an enneagram personality test! Scarfes Bar stands out from most bars in London for it’s unique experience. We had the money honey (whisky based), suspicious lady (fruity sharp flavours but sweet enough to make it easy to drinkand the happy place!
Great ambiance, great whiskey selection, geat service and great cocktails. They get you to choose cocktails depending on your personality and mood.We had two cocktails and two bar snacks. One one the cocktails is called Money Honey and has banana and tonka in it. Forgot the name of the other one but really nice too.For snacks we had the croquettes and spicy chicken and both delicious!
Oh, I just fell in love with this place! Live jazz on a Saturday night. Amazing sofas and chairs and cozy nooks to chat and mingle with friends. Dark with warm lighting. The cocktails are outstanding. The whisky selection is unbelievable. And the bar team are so kind and lovely. Such an elegant spot. Truly an unforgettable experience. I cannot wait to return!
One of the best bar experiences you can ever have in London. The staff is very professional as you expect at the Rosewood hotel. The cocktails and its menu is very creative. Currently cocktail styles match with music genres.
A fantastic place to enjoy a huge selection of spirits and cocktails. This isnt a cheap venue but the atmosphere is pleasent and the staff friendly. Well worth a visit if you fancy treating yourself.
A very pretty, well designed space. Ambience is excellent and the music on the one night that I’ve been so far, Atila (silky, Sinatra-esque), was alone worth the visit.Cocktails are brilliant. Service is as it should be.Cocktails are about the cost they should be, in my opinion, considering the overall experience. It’s a must go
Very posh bar inside of the hotel. Very busy on Sat night and not easy to get in if u dont have a table booked. Atmosphere was great and live music very enjoyable. Cocktails are strong and creative but £20 on average so be ready to splash out. We also tried a few snacks. Scotch egg and haggis sliders were delicious but flat bread that looked like some sort of pizza was bland and tasteless, very disappointing. Overall nice experience.
One of my favourite cocktail bars in London. Think: Swanky Speakeasy. Cocktails do cost a pretty penny (you can be paying £15 - £23 for a single cocktail), but for the setting and unique flavour combinations its worth it. Boasting warm, cosy and classy vibes with a fireplace - in central London nonetheless, its the perfect place for an intimate date night! All the little details are so special - including the menu with its tongue-in-cheek artwork.
Perfect cocktails, elegant environment and really decent jazz performances every night.I know the price here may be a bit relatively higher, compared with others in London. But if you are seeking for top level of cocktail experience, you are at the right place.
An excellent bar with a refined ambience, nice music that is not too loud and an extensive selection of drinks. Their cocktails have quirky names as well as quirky ingredients and are in the £17-£20 range. Glasses of wine run at similar prices. The list of gins and whiskeys was very long. During our stay there was live music (piano and voice). Service was good but one of the items we ordered never materialised. We didnt chase it up and it was not included in the final bill. All in all an excellent place for a date, a business drink or just a place to catch up with a friend. Id come again.
Super classy bar with great live music and fancy cocktails. Best if youre on an expense account, as 22 pounds for a Cocktail is not unusual there.
