Average food/bathroom from 70s smells bad/broken air-condition
Nice and clean basic hotel with great surroundings. Best suitable for people travelling by car - free parking. Good breakfast. I would definitely book Waskia again when in need for hotel in Vaasa.
Staff has always been friendly. Rooms are clean and beds cozy. Breakfast has been great.
Old building and it shows in the rooms and resturant, too long wait for food and problems with the water in the bath.
I get there 1 A.M. from the airport on a shared taxi, and the receptionist says my booking was with another property they have! It was cold, dark, and no cars to be found for a while. But it was all ok when finally got there for a few hours to rest.Kind of sad that I felt the spirit of Finland was not the same- warm and pleasant- that it once was...
Hotel starts to be in need of a renovation (our room was renovated, but not bathroom, nor public spaces), however we quite liked the atmosphere and overall feeling of the hotel. Cosy would be my word for it.Staff did a good job, gym was better than many hotel gyms in Finland etc. We stayed here during COVID, really surprised how few adults used masks etc, and no encouragement from staff, this was a major disappointment. Spa was closed, unfortunately.Prices for hotels in Finland are horrible, 150 euros per night for a standard family room truly is IMHO not even close to what the correct price would/should be….. 1 star deduction for cost/ROI, second star deduction for general need of renovation.
Ok
Nice hotel, very accommodating to our surprise birthday party. Breakfast was good and plenty of it! Rooms were a bit dated but comfortable!
But worn but otherwise nice place and seasurroundings
Ok place but pretty outdated. Four stars as it says when booking the hotel must be a joke. 3 stars is maximum. Good breakfast, easy parking and a 15 minute walk to city. Would need a maintenence break to feel not like 1992.
Nice and beautiful location, nice kids playroom
I loved it, great view, places for kid to play inside and outside. Beach.
Bed is too soft. The room has no air-conditioning, it was too hot during summer (standard family room). Others Scandic Hotel with standard room has air-conditioning.
A family vacation Hotel
A very positive surprise and would definitely recommend forward. Great location with a view, and next door a spa/swimming option.
Clean, cozy a bit worn out.
Great location. The hotel itself needs some updating.
Nice and clean rooms, overall age left some marks. Beautiful landscape next to the sea.
Room was not clean, furniture is old, bar cocktails are not tasty.... Its worth to avoid this hotel.
Have not stayed in any rooms so i cant say much about them. Breakfast is quite good and varied but the lunch buffet have quite much room for improvement (dry rice, tasteless meat etc..)
Nice hotel in calm environment
Needs slight renovation but otherwise ok
Old feeling. Breakfast is not too good and beach is dirty.
Usually reasonable priced hotel. Great location especially for people arriving with a car
Good price but rooms are so so. Ok breakfast buffet.
Is by the sea. So beautiful with gym and play ground for children. Good breakfast
The rooms are a bit dated, 80s decor and broken furniture. Restaurant took about 1.5 hours to deliver, still didnt deliver what we ordered. The beer had also gone flat due to sitting on the bar counter for 30 minutes before being delivered. Kids options are super small, 3 meatballs and a spoon full of mashed potatoes.
Not very fancy but clean hotel. Quite quiet at this time of year.
Nice, clean hotel with very big rooms. Restaurant a la carte was good, but not all dishes were available. Service was friendly and good. There were some shows in the hotel restaurant during weekend, so the dinner on Friday was not the most pleasant due to the music. The drunken hotel guests made some noise during Saturday night.
Beautiful surroundings and nice clean rooms. Quite old-fashioned building. Noise from the groups leaving the restaurant late at night did really disturb otherwise comfortable stay.
Okay hotel, not in the city center, but close enough to it (maybe 15 min walk). The breakfast was meh, the rooms where OK, the staff was friendly. I believe a lot of the visitors are coming by the ferry from Umeå, so Im a little disappointed that the hotel didnt serve any breakfast in time for people checking out on their way back.
Good view from breakfast restaurant.. nice sandy beaches with beach volley etc
I was only here for 2 nights and 1 day + a short morning. When I first came here it was great. The dinner we ate was awesome. Not many alternatives but high quality food. We went to visit Power Park, an amusement park in Finland. Great place. I may come here soon.
good resort and hotel accommodation in vaasa
Yt t
Very price quality wise
Place is from 80s but the service was nice and the breakfast was great.
Very nice. Clean and spacious rooms. Heated floor in bathroom. Good selection of breakfast food.
The hotel is clearly outdated. Rooms were old and had a lot of dust, probably due to the carpet floor. No tv in our room, bathrooms are tiny. The breakfast is outstanding however. A lot of options to choose from, better than average for a hotel breakfast.
Nice room, very good breakfast, peaceful hotel. Good package with spa and champagne/fruits included.
There are so many things wrong with the hotel and the Tropiclandia complex that it is difficult to know where to start. The hotel is still in the eighties and has a lot of problems with decor and cleanliness. The room we were in (454was 26c and too hot to sleep even though it was only 17c outside! We did have a fan but this was not adequate to help. When discussing this problem with staff i was amazed to learn that this problem was known and that it was "normal" for customers to have rooms that were too hot to sleep in. The lights did not work and the bathroom too small, towels too thin (you could see through them). We tried to get the most expensive room we could (twin superior with seaside view at €135 per nightbut the hotel needs a complete renovation and is not capable of providing accommodation with any comfort. Luckily we were able to cancel our remaining nights and leave as soon as possible. As for the Tropiclandia complex and water park i can only say that this is even worse. The lockers did not work and were rusting. There is green algae and rust inside Tropiclandia, broken showers and broken hand rails. The glass roof of the spa looks like 10,000 birds have defacated and the interior tapestry looks like a babys nappy, it is unbelievable. Outside in the water park there are weeds everywhere, loose stones so that they cling to your bare feet. The main attraction "boat slide" does not even work and you have to get out and push the "boat" so that it continues on its sorry journey. The slides are old and everywhere looks like it needs paint and refresh. Next door to the water park are derelict buildings and dirty looking asphalt areas. Our 2 children did not want to stay longer than 1 hour as the slides were not comfortable to go down. When returning to the locker room you have to pass a common area with both men and women so you have to dress before you go back to locker room!!!On the plus side the restaurant was very good and so were the staff, so at least you are able to get a good meal.It is difficult to believe that this place advertises for families and charges capital city prices . Hopefully Vaasa realises that this eyesore, like the rotting Wasalandia complex next door, needs a complete renovation and capital investment. We have travelled a lot in Europe and i can safely say that this is one of the worst places we have been to. Please save your money and do not come here.
Place starting to require renovation. Rooms equipped with poor beds and pillows. The breakfast filled with cheap, low quality items. The spa and small water park attract families with children, for whom this place is targeted for.
Building is from 80s old impression, but man what a food, my salute to chef and waiters how beautifully they managed a breakfast, everything house made, what a tasty food. Thanks guys. Would recommend for families with young kids this place has plenty to offer, the beach had a smooth waves and clean Waters. Thanks to breakfast chef and waiters in morning. You guys have us a healthy start. Thx
Nothing to brag about. Its nice for families with young children but for others its lackluster. Was there during pre-season.
The toilets are small but room is large enough
Average quality, a little tired...
Nice location
Resort and spa with all facilities and stunning view on salt Lake
Medium quality spa/swimming hall. Tries to be exotic jungle like spa, but years of use are seen everywhere. Hotel attached to it is ok, with fairly nice breakfast. Location appr. 15min walk from city on an island.
Back to the 80s, but the kids liked it!
