With views of the Scandinavian Mountains, this relaxed, modern hotel is a 13-minute walk from Kiruna Church and 2 km from Kiruna Central Station. The chic rooms feature free Wi-Fi and flat-screen TVs. Upgraded rooms add tea and coffeemaking facilities; suites add sitting areas with pull-out sofas. Room service is also available.Complimentary breakfast is served in a sleek restaurant, which also offers lunch. There's also a hip cafe with regular live music and a seasonal outdoor terrace. Additional amenities include a cozy bar, a sauna, and a fitness center with table tennis, as well as meeting rooms, and a lounge with a billiard table. Parking is available.
Fantastic customer service. We wanted to spend the day at the Sami Museum and ICEHOTEL.Josefin called the taxi company for us and waited on hold for a long time until she got through. She said she could book a taxi in one direction for us, but that there were no taxis that could take us to the airport in the evening. This might have meant we werent able to visit the museum and ICEHOTEL. However, Josefin then kindly suggested she could give us a lift from ICEHOTEL to the airport herself after she finished work!We gratefully accepted her offer and proceeded to have a wonderful day.
Good. Soon it will be a bra d new hotel because of city will be moved.
Absolutely horrendous hotel. Extremely overpriced, the interior of the hotel feels like as if it’s from the 70s and has never been renovated. The fittings in the room were cheap and old. It is at best a 0 star place. Do yourself a favor and sleep in your car and you will save yourself 250 euros and feel the same way as you would’ve after staying here. The breakfast was a horrible experience too. They ran out of milk and never bothered to refill. The coffee tasted like sewage. The only good thing was the 24 hr check-in desk.Donot recommend it at all unless. they come back to their senses revamp the whole hotel and charge a reasonable price for the rooms
Service minded personal. Good breakfast. Cozy rooms. 4 Chargers for electric car.
The room was ok for a 3* hotel, mut didnt quite match the fotos. Had only one waterglass and no minibar, which would had been nice. Booked the room because of the laundry service, but found out it is closed on weekends. Breakfast was good and open until 12.
Great hotel with nice staff and rooms with an amazing view of mountains. Just needs a renovation (but doesnt really matter because this hotel is closing and a new Scandic Ferrum is opening in late 2021)
We stopped here for coffee/brunch. Great coffee and sandwich. There was an extremely friendly lady at the reception who gave us a warm welcome to mitigate the cold outside. We were new to Kiruna and unfortunately we arrived on a Sunday so everything was closed. She helped us find our way around the city.
We stayed 2 nights and the desk clerks were pleasant and efficient. They were incredibly helpful with room needs for our party of 3 and quick with email responses.
Decent Scandic hotel.Don’t miss the opportunity to have a sauna on the top floor with views of the mine and the trains!
A nice 3ish star hotel in the middle of Kiruna. Its unfortunate that the bar closes at 22:00 on Fridays. The lounge feels nice and luxurious. The service leaves something to be desired. The drinks are ok at best.
Stayed for 2 nights. Breakfast great staff lovely and evening meal very good. Comfortable room
Central , well facilitated parking outside if you have snow tyres or 4 wheel drive steak was the best I have had in 40 years evening dinner. Breakfast continental swedish and some hot bacon /sausage.
Nice and well maintained hotel.. Friendly staff at the reception.. Very good view of Northern lights at night from the room
Their breakfast was the bomb!!! So good and plenty to choose from. However, the parking sucked and the sofa bed was completely deformed and uncomfortable. Staff was helpful. Great view of Kiruna from hotel viewpoint on 5th floor :)
Awesome breakfast, reception and bar staff were helpful, room was good...pullout couch bed a little rough on my back.
Awesome place to stay . So clean and well maintained rooms and hotel. As is situated near tour companies . Close to bus stop and restaurants. Breakfast and sauna was perfect. Had a pleasant and relaxing stay. Worth it!!!
Big hotel. Cosy reception. Kitchen was looking amazingly good. Cant complain at all with the staff and accommodation
Clean room, friendly staff. Lunch buffet was very average, dinner was worse, no flavour. Breakfast was fine/typical. If we come back to kiruna we will try somewhere else. Let us check in early which was great.
Central location, welcoming staff, and comfortable atmosphere. They offer a bar and restaurant as well as helpful local information on anything you could need or want. 5/5 for sure!
Amazing coffee and breakfast. Clean, elegant lobby. Calm and cozy beds. Nice window view. Highly recommended.
Rooms are meh the placement is good. My reason for 2 stars is that the network did not work I was not happy. Next time i would choose another hotel.
Nice hotel overall. View over the city is good from many rooms. We got the last room available and that being considered, I may excuse a couple imperfections about the rooms prior maintenance and preparation. The room could use an overhaul, but it worked totally fine.Everything at the breakfast was tasty, but the selection could be broader. Also, because of a lack of caution and a high temperature we fried our fingers a little when touching the drying rack in the bathroom ;D
Excellent hotel, though I once 35 years ago worked here after school. Amazing place. On a clear day you an see the top of kebnekaise from yoler part of hotel
Very nice hotel with 5* facilities. The food is wonderful aided with full range of drinks. The pastas are delicacy. Next to the info center, it is a part of Kiruna centrum, and near to all facilities like tours etc. The rooms are clean, with humble staff u feel @home.
Edit for 2019-04-05: Had BBQ buffet for lunch. The chorizo was actually great, the pork and chicken was so-so. The bearnaise sauce had an acidic touch to it and who in their right mind servers straight up boiled potatoes to BBQ?Expensive restaurant with bland food.Their Wi-Fi (CaptivePortalLoginwants access to my photos and what not?!?! Jesus.Poor beer selection
Excellent !!Prime location at Kiruna City Centre. Easy to reach it. Everything are within walking distance. However, sadly to hear that the hotel will be moved :(
Great service, fabulous views, very good breakfast (better than In Scandics usually). A very positive surprice.
I was waiting a couple hours for my train to arrive. All the shops were closed/closing. I walked into the Scandic and asked the staff if I could stay in the lobby to warm up while I wait for my train. They let me stay and even offered me coffee and help navigate to the train station.
This building is primarily a hotel, which has a small museum and information center on the ground floor about the history of Kiruna, the iron ore mine, and why and how the town is shifting. An interesting exhibition, if possible try to have a chat with the staff on site and they will tell you about some amazing things and initiatives going on in Kiruna, and how the city is transforming. A big shout out to Emma who guided me around. Great work guys... keep it up!
Me and my wife are happy to stay in Scandic Feerum, Kiruna. The room is clean, nice, fresh and we get room in the corner which is perfect. Breakfast is fine. Hotel staff are friendly.Hotel location is near to everything.... sadly knowing the hotel will be moved in to new location. For sure we will come and stay in the new location. Thank you!
Scandic Ferrum is located in the area of Kiruna that needs to be evacuated due to the mining operation. When visiting the hotell one gets a feeling that due to this they have skipped renovating and are just waiting for their new building. The areas beyond the reception area desperately need a bit of love to reach the levels usually associated with Scandic.
We didnt sleep in the hotel, but they stored our luggages and helped us out with going to the train station. Very very nice!
Very good standard and helpful staff. After some messy bookings from travel agency, the hotel staff quickly sorted out rooms for several people in my travel group. Good and wide selection for breakfast and nice entertainment facilities. Very comfortable rooms and beds despite extreme weather outside. Also very tasteful restaurant. Worth booking in advance.Overall decent price/benefit ratio.
Dinner took super long to be served. There was one tray of Rice at the buffet line, when that first plate was emptied we were informed it would take 40 more mins for the next tray. Rooms were dark, but at least clean.
Had a lovely meal in Mommas Steakhouse, nice bar and a great space to chill out. Really nice staff who are happy to chat and give advice. Waffles for breakfast...oh yes
A mid-range hotel which is located in the old city center. The structure is quite old and not very updated, but since the whole neighbourhood will be demolished in a couple of years its quite understandable that no large renovations are planned. The beds are comfortable though, and the view from the upper floors is almost breathtaking. The service level is also quite high, and the breakfast buffet is especially well-catered. Apart from the normal selection of dishes common in the average Swedish hotel breakfasts, this hotel also serves treats such as protein enriched yoghurt, locally produced jams, marmelades and bread as well as ginger vitamin shots. All and all, they provide the ingredients for a good nights sleep followed by a nice start of the day!
Comfortable rooms and remarkably pleasant staff. Unbelievable views of the Kiruna mine spoils and LKAB offices from the breakfast restaurant and lounge. Make sure you order a salad with your steak at Mommas steakhouse! Visit soon before it falls into the Kiruna cave!
Nice room, and the window opens to let some fresh air in. Well located, just a 5 minutes walk from the bus station. Good view of the iron ore mine!
A great meeting place with friends staff were friendly and the food was good. On the Saturday night we were there the hosted a great band that brought the whole town in. A fantastic night.
Poor facilities in the room no tea or coffee making, blown bulbs. The place just looks dirty and run down for the price of £180 per night.
The Scandic Ferrum was conveniently located, a few minutes walking from the bus stop to the train (even with heavy snow!). Right around the corner from the visitor center and tour pickups. Friendly staff, great vibe. The breakfast buffet was excellent.
Not the best hotel in the world, but currently the best in the city. The rooms are large, however the beds are not comfortable and the quality is low. All this given the price you pay for these rooms which match prices in major cities like Stockholm with way better facilities. If possible I would suggest Scandic in Gällivare instead which has better prices, rooms and facilities.
Weve stayed 4 nights at this hotel. You cant ignore that it is located in a very small city, very far from other cities. If you come to stay in kiruna, specially for business, I think this is the hotel for you.Big rooms, rich and tasty breakfast, great service, free fast Internet. The 1st room I got was with broken heating system (with -10 C in the night...)After I called the reception, it took exactly 4 mins. to get a different room. The only minus I saw, was very different rooms, several that were probably renovated, and others not.It is located right in the city center.Theres also a nice restaurant in the hotel : Mommas Steakhouse. Look for my review on that.Overall, very much recommended
Good place to stay, nice rooms, breakfast and May at the front desk is super friendly and service-minded. Thumbs up for the stay! Its no luxury hotel (and thats not needed with nature around the cornerbut with expectations set right youll be in good hands! Central location and good launching place for adventures!
Old building but clean hotel. Decent amenities but not luxury by any means. Good bar with decent craft beer selection. Nice view from the balcony on the top floor.
Fanstastic base from which to launch an Aurora trip , good bar and friendly staff , nice and central as well plus very easy to find - would be my pick in Kiruna.
Nice rooms, great breakfast. The dinner buffe was no more than okay in my opinion. A bit expensive for what you get. The location of the hotel is excellent and the staff I have met so far are very friendly!
Awesome Hotel! Rooms are clean well organized and offer an amazing view of the lapland or the city center (not to mention Northern Lights if the sky is clear on winters).
Price is quite high compared to other scandic hotels in sweden, but still nice rooms, open wifi and nice sauna. Close to city center.Im 2nd floor member, and I bought a salad with voucher. But price label under it was wrong (lower than real price). When check out, no negociation, I have to pay the extra. When Scandic makes mistake, you pay for it. Well done......
Christmas eve and this place was open. My husband had the burger, he loved it. I had the salmon with wine sauce. It didnt go well together but the fish was fine. Service was great. For the both of us with drinks and desert was 500kr. If u think that is expensive, u havent been in Sweden long enough :)
