Sayyid Antique & Cafe - Cafe in Kampung Bukit Baharu, Malaysia
Had an amazing local breakfast there (although their sambal is not my favorite π)The place is quite popular so expect to wait until line!
Down memory lane
Very nice laksa and lady, the old man is not so nice.
Simple and tasty locals food. You are having your food with environment of oldies stuff like radio and maybe you are not born yet
Interesting and cute antiques
Came around 9 on Sunday morning and had to wait for about 10 minutes to get a table for 7. The owners were taking orders and cleaning tables.. Am guessing they were cooking as well (?). Uncle owner kept apologising to us and told us staff didnt turn up hence why they were a bit chaotic that morning. Many groups waited for a table after us, some got in, some left so be prepared to either wait for a table especially during school hols. Ordered roti bakar and mi hun goreng, lontong and nescafe. Food is just average, nothing outstanding but it certainly is an interesting cafe to dine in, surrounded by antique paraphernalia.
Came here again after almost 4 years. Awesome food, very cozy cafe.
Good and cheap food. Also nice atmosphere to have breakfast.
Come here before 9am. The vibe and coffee are worth it. Soto tastes great too.
A gem hidden away from the main Jonker walking street! We had the nyonya laksa and kaya toast. The deco gives us some nostalgic moment!
The nyonya laksa is a must try! It is the best laksa I ever had.
They served a lovely authentic breakfast that i highly recommended!
Nice place to have breakfast. The choices are quite limited, but the taste was excellent. The food price is quite cheap. The waiting time was adequate. Definitely will come back again since iβm a regular jogger/walker along the Malacca river.
Nice to see the many vintage and antique collections. My Nyonya Laksa apparently tasted like lontong (I swear it doesand as you can see from the picture, it does not look like Nyonya Laksa at all from the colour of the "kuah" too. When I commented to the owner, the man asked instead if I have tasted laksa before. I told him that I am orang Melaka (obviously I have eaten laksa from many restaurants). He didnt even come to examine my bowl of so called Nyonya Laksa. The impression I get when one cant take customers comment constructively...sigh.. Will never recommend the Nyonya Laksa here.
Parked so further and walked to this shop but ended up with full table at 9.30am and inattentive staff. We queued but no one cared to engage us or mention the table was full. One of the customers at the table went out and asked how to order. Thatβs how bad was the service.
Enjoy your kopitiam with antiques ambiance that bring back memories of the good old days especially for baby boomers
We ate mihun soto and lontong, both were tasty. The decoration was unique and filled with antique stuffs. Recommended for anyone looking for light mealsππ½
We love the laksa nyonya..but due limited seat..i suggest come early..the parking also hard to find..
I tried the laksa. Itβs a must try here. Pro tip ask them to mix both small and big noodles. I kind of like it that way.Ofcourse the interior is so well done. Gives a vintage look to the place.
Recommended for breakfast. Laksa nyonya the best!
Not so worth the price sorry to says. Especially the fired chicken is so small and not as display in the menu as one plate. This can consider as miss leading consumer. The owner must do better to correct such error included when comes to wording. Plus the Nasi lemak portion is very small.
Nice menu of local foods. Great ambience accompany with the display of antique and historical items. Only a distance from Jonker Walk. You will feel home right after you enter the place and welcome by the friendly staff.
One of the most interesting breakfast places off of Jonker Walk. If you like antiques and that kopitiam vibe, this is the place to be. The owners are super nice and they make a mean nyonya laksa. I judge the quality of an eatery by the iced coffee it serves and the ice coffee( not Nescafeis kaw law sedap. Price is cheap and good is good.A bit cramped and might not be the best place for kids as there are many precious and fragile antiques around. The place is not the most instagrammy but if u enjoy marvelling at a piece of Coca Cola memorabilia or love a good blast from the past, this is the joint to hit up
If only i could give ZERO star. Arrived at 1030am but then the owner said the foods finished. I feel soo disappointed. I dont mind at all waiting in long queue. Its on public holiday summore and the location just behind the riverside which is a tourist spot. Do your business properly you cannot be comfortable with just this
Was here on 30 Aug 2020 for breakfast.Crowded and full. However the owner invited us to a table at the back of the kitchen. The nyonya laksa and lontong were really delicious.Voted the best malay cafe near Jonker st.
Hidden gem.Cute little cafe in an antique shop.
Reasonably cheap priced foodFood is just nice to remind our kampung heritage.Unique atmosphereRecommended to those who want to relive on such simpler times
We had the soto & melaka nyonya laksa and theyβre both absolutely delicious! Though the Sotoβs rice cube could be softer, we still enjoyed it. Nice old skool cool ambience. Would recommend, and would come again!
Went there for breakfast and it was really good food and super cheap (2 laksa + an other dish for 16.5 RM).Owner is really nice and the restaurant is also a super nice antique shop.
Old Town antiques shop which doubles as a cafΓ©. Their Nonya laksa (5.50RMis worth a try, esp with their delicious sambal on top
Great local food with very friendly owners.
Cool, quirky antique/ food shop! We had the laksa which was yummy!
Great little cafe with lots of interesting antiques lining the walls and ceiling. I had the nasi lemak with fried chicken. The rice and sambal were nice and fragrant and the chicken was delicious! Would recommend for a nice quick breakfast or lunch
Went here on 31/3/19, and it was splendid.. The breakfast is really delicious, the owner is really sweet and friendly, and surrounded with antiques really can give u the 90s feelings.. Will come again.. Thanks makcik !
My breakfast for 2days at MelakaThereβs a few too many antiques, I canβt stop looking around. The warm welcome from the owner, a parent-like figures they are. I wonβt forget them or betray them for other breakfast.And... i got a bowl of Soto for 5.5rmI bring my own water bottle to save the environment and they allow me to do so.So, Why not ? Another reason to comeback.β‘
Cheap and delicious local food. The cafe is full of interesting antiques to look at and the owners are very friendly. We had the Soto soup for breakfast (RM 5.50 per bowland loved it.
Incredible nonya laksa for 5 MRY with beautiful hospitality and great deco. Highly recommended when in Malacca. Thereβs a laundromat a few doors up on the other side of the road, perfect to put a load of washing on, have lunch and the laundry cycle will be done when your lunch is.
Love the concepts of this cafe. Many antique stuffs here. The food have good taste also very cheap. This place is close to Mural Kiehls. Must visit if in Malacca ππ
I love the antique at the shops but the food was just ok. Nasi Lemak lack the coconuts flavor and lontong diluted. I wish it has more taste. Service is quick and good.
When we were there, the place is not very crowded so we get to talk more with their owner.. Definately live up to the antique theme.. The food was great..
The food i tasty and the price is really reasonable. The ambience is great as well as you are surrounded by all the antique things that you can imagine of.
its not very welcoming from outside. the nasi lemak ayam n soto were great. If u in hurry this, u may reconsider not to visit this place. As they tends to serve the food VERY SLOW....
Lovely and warm place! Both the owners were so nice and treated us like family, reminded us back our hometown. Do visit the place if youd like a delicious and honest soto and laksa (we ordered those and loved itππππππ
Love all food on the menu... Nasi lemak, lontong, laksa nyonya and Soto... Most of the time the food is good but sometimes they not serve it the best! White coffee is a must!
The tiny restaurant surrounded by antique goods. At first , it was hard to understand that antique store or not. It was an unexpected finding because i was so hungry. Noodle menu called Laksa is popular one. That tastes of turmeric and fish flavor. i could get a satisfied meals.
We tried asam pedas and soto here, it was delicious. Well definitely come back again. They got very warm and vibrant environment and to those antique lover, make sure to check this place out.
Yummy local Malay food consisting only of nasi lemak, mee soto, malacca nyonya laksa and lontong. Theres only 6 tables so come early!
Very small menu, but the laksa was very good. They sell out of popular items early in the day, like Nasi Lemak! Lots of interesting old antiques and items from the past to look at.
Dont be fooled by the limited menu selection. What they serve is the finest local malay food this side of Jonker.Cafe is operated by a lovely couple, so be patient with their service.Coffee is strong and the food is scrumptious.
Good food, we had our breakfast 2 days in a row here. Lots of antique stuff.
