Counter-serve diner offering macaroni & cheese, melted cheese sandwiches & other comfort foods.
Excellent choice! Let me start positive: The owner and young man that work behind the grill were so kind. They had great customer service. The food was amazing! The reason for my subpar rating is due to the Hispanic woman with the gold teeth that worked there. She was very rude and in my opinion racist. She actually would not give me hot water and had an attitude when I asked for it so I could warm my 8month old’s bottle. I had just ordered about $50 of food from the owner and she treated me like a random hobo off the street. What makes it worse is the couple I was with, she was clearly nice to but even in giving me my food- she didn’t have nice service and even did not bring my food out, the owner had to even though the party I was with received theirs. I had to inquire about my food. This place would be wonderful and absolutely 5 stars if the workers were better towards customers.
Gets soup! The tomatoes bisque is awesome. Great sandwiches! Their avocado salad was one the of the best I’ve had.
Quality is not great. Also quite expensive compared to what you can find around. People are very kind.
Ordered:Truffle Egg Sandwich (my favorite)Beef EmpanadaSloppy Taco
The Viggie sandwich is great!
Actually close at 6 than what they advertise online so i never got food and they told me then and there that they close @ 6 when they were still open @6:30 🤬
Everything from the inside of the store to the employees was AMAZING. I made a huge order last minute for my team and they fulfilled it in a timely matter and they were so kind and helpful when we accidentally ordered double things and missed things from the order. Thank you so much for your kindness!! We appreciate it so much.
DELICIOUS empanadas and very friendly bilingual staff. Def worth a visit
Pretty fast but they dont ever greet me. Or say thank you or anything like that at the end. Makes your business feel unappreciated
$9.76 egg and bacon on rye, Nicely over priced. You will noticed their prices are not even on the menu, and btw waited 25 mins for it.
Food was mediocre at best, really not worth it. Ordered the wings and cheese fries, wings were tiny and fries tasted frozen. Would not go again
Amazing sandwiches at great prices!I was sitting at a really expensive lunch spot on campus drinking a beer looking for a cheap foodie find and stumbled across this place. I read some reviews and went for a suggestion the owner suggested to another reviewer, the Truffle cheese steak with mac. Let me tell you - this was a GAME CHANGING sandwich. If youre a fan of truffles and mushrooms, I recommend getting it! There are also so many other custom options you can pick for a sandwich. I definitely will be back! 👍
Wish they had a little more variety. They really focus on grilled cheese sandwiches but could stand to up their mac and cheese game. A few menu suggestions: buffalo chicken mac and cheese w/blue cheese crumbles; Philly cheese steak max and cheese; max and cheese with crab meat; deep fried mac and cheese balls; deep fried cheese curds; poutine; chili cheese dogs; spaghetti with chili piled high with shredded cheddar (i.e. the "3-way" ala Skyline). Besides the limited menu, the food is pretty good and the value is excellent.
I got a regular grilled cheese, and it was delicious, the rest of my family was also extremely pleased with the food and I HIGHLY recommend!
Really tasty and unique food for reasonable prices. Boss man up front was super helpful, service was great
They charged me $15.00 for a cheese steak and cheese fries and knew I was s black person and served me the hardest burnt black fries in the world..I will never eat there again
Second time trying this place and found what we ordered to be delicious again! Today we had their Rueben sandwich, which was really good! The bread was toasted just right - wonderfully crispy and not greasy! We also tried a beef empanada, which was very good! We will be coming back! Delicious!
This place is a gem. We found it by accident. Absolutely delicious. We had the Mac and Chez sandwich, the chicken tenders, and the Build-Your-Own Sandwich...Cuban bread with grilled chicken breast, pepper jack, and apple slices 🤗. The staff are professional and kind. The prices are very reasonable. I cant wait to go back again to try everything on the menu. Recommendations will be made! Love this place!!!!
I was so excited to try this place, and was not impressed. My chicken noodle soup was noodle-less and my disco fries were dry with no gravy. Don’t think I’d go here again
SECRET GEM IN DOWNTOWN PRINCETON:Went here with my friends and had a good experience. Large menu and good sandwiches and sides. However, everything wasn’t all good. The employees went on their phones frequently, the store wasn’t too clean, it took over 45 minutes for them to do our order, and after all that time waiting, we had to go back to get half our order that they forgot. Maybe it was just a bad day for them or Covid-19 is holding them up and making it harder. I’ll be sure to come there again though when this is all over, and maybe my experience will be better. It’s good for a small restaurant, but somewhere like Hoagie Haven or Princeton Sandwich and Soup is much better in my opinion.
Cute little inviting casual eatery. Scrumptious and hearty grilled sandwiches made with quality, fresh ingredients. The mac & cheese was oozing with comforting yellow cheese and very yummy. Highly recommended.
Delicious food! One of my favorite spots in all of Princeton. The owner is such a nice and friendly guy. All of the sandwiches are delicious and the soups are perfectly seasoned and can be paired with any of the sandwiches or eaten all by itself.
The food is great, but the wait time during lunch could be 20-30 min. Be ready to wait for the goodness!
Well it was interesting and expensive, my sons sandwich had thin sliced deli turkey mixed with what looked like the thick end slices thrown in for good measure. He pulled them out. I ordered the fried chicken sandwiches which only had chicken on half of the sub roll, other half just tomato, onion and lettuce, but no chicken. This “feast” was $22 and not worth it at all.
Not the same as it was 2-3 years ago. The disco fries were my favorite. I haven’t had them in so long so i was looking forward to it. The brisket was dry and the gravy didnt have that same signature flavor that i fell in love with.
Pretty sad "grilled cheese" if you ask me. Not worth the $5. Didnt even include all the ingredients I requested!
The food was absolutely delicious! I have no complaints. My friend(who has dietary restrictionsasked for the Princeton without bacon and they were extremely accommodating! However, it was a somewhat expensive. Aside from that, the "homey" feel of the cafe was welcoming. Overall, I genuinely enjoyed my experience and would recommend it to all. Best sandwiches in Princeton, especially the Princeton and the Mac n Cheese Sandwich!
Ordered the Tuna Melt. It tasted sour and VERY fishy. There were carrots cut up in it. Hardly any cheese. Not worth almost $9. WAY OVERPRICED
The nicest staff and most creative, fun and delicious food for all ages. Ranging from super healthy to downright sinful. I love this place!!!!
I feel the cafe had a good vibe. And I have been there once but I have to say their sandwich skills are really great. I don’t usually like bacon sandwiches but the ‘U’ classic changed my mind. 4 star coz Empanada was ok I guess.
Food was way to oily. Unless youre hungover, dont really recommend. Way over priced, paid $5 for 5 fries. For the prices of everything, I expected better quality food. Sauteed veggies tasted like pure oil.
Wonderful service, quick and accurate order filled for six people, and amazing selection of sandwiches. I will definitely be back!
I usually get the same sandwich everytime I go here a "Princeton". Usually the chicken is fresh and shredded, this time the chicken was cubed, the bacon was mostly fat and rubbery, and the sandwich itself was soggy and falling appart. I was completely disappointed and could not eat the sandwich. Not sure if it is new ownership, but something has changed.
Out of all the good places to eat in town, why would anyone want to get a grilled cheezer 😅 maybe Ill open up a fried salami house or pbj kingdom, foreigners will eat anything they feel is American.
Only had Mexican omlet sandwich and it was good so I would come back for more as menu is pretty big . It was made fresh so allowed time for your order..
Food was good but they forgot one of the sandwiches so we had to go all the way back. They didnt offer anything for our trouble
Great little place hidden away on Nassau street. Went in for the first time today for a breakfast sandwich, and even though I only got egg and cheese on a grilled sandwich, it did not disappoint. The menu is very broad and there are many options for customization. Will be going again, and next time I will try a lunch meal. If you love cheese dont pass up this place!
Went to Say Cheez last year and was so pleased with the food, I came again when visiting Princeton this year. Not only was the Dagwood delicious, the service was amazing. The man at the cashier (who I assume was the ownerwas one of the nicest people Ive ever met. We chatted about the trip I was on and I appreciated his honesty when it came to what he would pick on the menu. They renovated over the last year - not only just the inside but with the menu. He explained how he didnt want to serve his customers frozen food so aims to make fresh products or just simply scrap them from the menu in the name of quality. I have never written a review but this place is just so great I had to! Thank you!!!!
Nice little cafe style sandwich shop.I wouldnt come here expecting to get a cheap grilled cheez, but what you get is quite delicious.I got the farmer (goat cheese, spinach, and roasted beetswith a dipper of tomato basil soup. I even had enough of the soup leftover to eat by itself. You can build you own but they have more than enough to satisfy a unique flavor itch. Likely that I wont be a regular (due to the expensebut will absolutely come back.
I had a below average experience. The Mac and cheese in sandwich was cold and when I complained I was offered another one. It was extremely oily and was not good at all. The second grilled cheese arrived cold as well. Taste was average or below average as well.
Well I love cheese so I figured I would try this place. I was not disappointed. Interesting selections of sandwiches and the food I ordered tasted wonderful. They will also tailor your food to how you like it.
Just one of those places that you have to have on your list. Its hard to differentiate yourself when all you do is grilled cheese but this place has what it takes. Not a dine-in destination but if the weather is nice you can sit outside and enjoy the outdoors. Just be sure to get far enough away from the dumpsters.
Great food with great prices!! You can also “build” your grilled cheese to your liking. They have added some new options to their menu that I look forward to trying very soon!!
Got the lobster mac n cheese at the taste of colorado and it was disgusting! There is nothing gourmet about velvetta cheese shells and cold lobster on top. As soon as they handed us the dish we were surprised at what they were handing us....after we noticed the cans of cheese (and I use the word cheese looselyin the back of the tent. Definitely will not be ever eating here
Awesome sandwiches. Its hot and crunchy. Waiting is not too long. It is meant for takeaway but we sit the table outside. Nice service and place.
My wife and I stopped into Say Cheez figuring wed give it a shot. Well, were glad we did. She had the veggie and I had the mac and cheese and they were both hot, crunchy and flavorful. On the way out the cashier said "Come back, again." We definitely will be!
The sandwiches are great. Cheese is really stringy and bread is crispy. I had the Princeton. The wait was a little long though despite having no line, its a cozy (smallplace, and pricey for just a grilled cheese although it is very good.
Best Fettucine Cabonara had in a long time! & awesome garlic bread. Only downfall was the wait for delivery. However, they did arrive 10min ealrier than expected! Very pleasant staff.
There used to be Zorbas Grill here before this place. They have retained those items at new place. I go here for those - falafel and hummus. I like it. There is enough place to sit outside which is shared with ice cream place next door.
Spent $9.65 and 20 minutes on the worst chicken fingers and onion rings I have ever had. Both items got forgotten in the fryer and were saturated in grease and burnt after the 3 man team, the cash register man was on the fryer, forgot about my order. Its the 12:30pm, lunch rush, where in the world were the rest of the employees to take on the rush? Will never visit again. I dumped my bag of grease and walked over to Princetons Cafe and got better chicken fingers.
