Savannah Tours by Old Town Trolley - Sightseeing Tour Agency in Savannah, United States
A really great little tour of the city of Savannah! This was our second time in 3 years - We had a great tour guide and trolley driver. The greatest thing about the tour was how they would periodically have characters that would hop on the bus and tell you some history! Our tour trolley even had a gal who was dressed to the nines in a gorgeous antebellum dress. She was in character the whole time and made the history interesting and brought it to life! Such a great experience.
First time in Savanah, GA although we got a late start, we still were able to do 1.5 hour tour with the next day for free... the jazz festival was going on, and from our visit it was beautiful, peaceful, and quite the night life.. lots of history here..We also walked down the river and ate.. Would love to go back when more time permits..
Such a fantastic way to see Savannah! Hopped on various trolleys throughout the day and all of the drivers were great. They dont have a script so much as just having a conversation about the city. Great stops, fair price, and an overall "worth it" experience!
Great way to see Savannah in a day. The commentaries are live given by the drivers of the trolley buses. If you hop on and off enough youll get different drivers all giving their own spin on the tour. Not cheap but worth the money if, like us you use it all day.
The tour was great. It was the perfect way to learn some of Savannah’s history as well as get your bearings. Icy was our guide. She did a wonderful job. She was very knowledgeable and made the tour fun as well. She’s very funny.
We enjoyed tours with Josh and then Shay later in the day. They were both pleasant and knowledgeable about the history of Savannah. This tour is such a great way to see and hear all about the main historical landmarks in the area. We rode the circuit in its entirety once then hopped on and off to see all the sites on our list up close. Bring cash for tip as not all drivers offered an alternate method of tipping. Great experience. Highly recommend!
We were picked up at our campground yesterday (9/29/22by the Old Town Trolley Tours shuttle service. Our driver was Eric for the pick up and return. He was excellent! He gave us interesting facts etc about Savannah. We then used the trolley service for the tour of Savannah and got off and on 3 times to visit museums, points of interest and for lunch. All of the drivers were very knowledgeable and we learned a lot about the beautiful city of Savannah. It made for a very enjoyable experience!
We took a single day tour and it was so worth it! The buses are very comfortable and airy. There are 15 stations and you can hop off any station and enjoy the surroundings and then can board on the bus anytime to continue the journey. We had 5 different drivers throughout the journey and everyone had a different style of conveying the information and we loved every bit of it. Savannah is a gem and its best enjoyed on a trolley tour!
Fun experience, free parking and affordable. Enjoyed being able to hop on and off. Also went to the Prohibition museum . Only complaint was the last driver we had acted like it was an inconvenience to talk about the history.
We had a great time. With only 2 days in Savannah we wanted to see as much as possible. Saw on the website that town history would be told as you traveled around the city, but did not expect to have such a good time. Euell made it so fun. We hated that we had to get off at a stop, When he showed up at another stop as our trolley driver we said YES! IF we were to do this over again we would start early, like 9:00. Do the tour all the way through then get on and off as you like. Thanks for a great day.
My husband and I booked the trolley last minute to get some history of Savannah. We werent disappointed! All the guides we had were great, easy to understand and engaging. Being able to hop on and off all day is great and the trolleys are only about 15-20 min apart so theres never a long wait. Highly recommend for everyone visiting Savannah!
Wow what a great tour. Only $29. And you get to see all of downtown Savannah and learn all about it. So awesome. The tour guy does a great job and all of the staff were very helpful and kind. it wasn’t even warm on the trolley as we made our way through the city there was a nice breeze. Took lots of pictures and had a great time very informative & Elva was very nice and deserves a raise
Trolly guides knew quite a bit of the history. We circled multiple times a day with different drivers and got to hear different points of view. My family had a blast.
By far the BEST tour bus in Savannah! I learned so much and Joey was a charm to listen to and learn from! Would highly recommend the tour bus with Joey!!!
A good way to see the downtown area highlights and you can get on and off at different stops depending on what you want to see up close. Our tour guide narrator Icy was amazing. Hopefully you get her, but if not just sit back and enjoy the ride.
We really enjoyed our hop on/off Old Town Trolly tour around Savannah. The conductors are very knowledgeable and even share some of their own stories and recommendations. We would highly recommend you take this tour to learn all the highlights of the town. If you get Tony, you will not be disappointed!
Fun way to see Savannah (and other cities with an Old Town Trolley)! I hopped off at a few popular sites and never had trouble getting back on with a group of 6, but less popular stops were occasionally backed up with people waiting. The drivers were wonderful about communicating with the office to dispatch additional trolleys for stops with a crowd of people waiting.Savannah is a beautiful historic city with so much to see. Definitely do a hop on/hop off tour to get the most out of your visit!
Absolutely loved it! We only had one full day exploring historic Savannah, and this is the best way to do it! Hop on, hop off as you please. The tour guides were all amazing, knowledgeable, and kind. You park your car for free with your ticket purchase, which is a huge plus. Would definitely recommend to everyone and will come back to Savannah to do it again!!
They are really good at keeping trolleys coming to pick you up. I learned a lot from the tour as well. Savannah got set on fire...a lot. Lol I would recommend it. They even tell you about other things to do.
We had an excellent tour guide/driver, she was very knowledgeable and friendly to all the guests. We really enjoyed the tours
Very good drivers. They are good at locally history. We had several nice trips. Can be recommended.
Great experience. Advantage of using this trolley compared to other operators is the frequency, as this tours have better frequency compared to others. Drivers were so informative of Savannah history and they were very helpful. We had hope off and on at multiple points without any issues. Trolleys were very clean. The places we liked were Cathedral Church, River walk, City Market and Forsyth park. Try this tours and you will never be disappointed.
Great tour!1 ticket lasts all day.Jump on and jump off at 14 locations throughout Savannah.Starts at 9:00am and last boarding is at 5:00pm.Very educational and informative.Rode with several tour guides and they were all great! Some were serious and some were funny, but they were all wonderful!Definitely worth your time and money!!
Unfortunately the rain cut our day short, but the tour guides on the trolleys we were on were very informative and it made it easy to see the city! Definitely recommend. We plan to return and spend more time hopping on and off and really exploring the area!
It was a pretty good tour, but if you don’t sit on the right side of trolley you can’t see most of the points of interest. The tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging. The picture is an example of the view from the left side.
Top Notch tour! Recently I took this tour with my Girl Scouts when visiting Savannah. The cost at the visitor center was very reasonable and less than online because we were a group. We had a fantastic tour guide. The timing was perfect on the route and the Juliette Gordon Low House is conveniently a stop. Our scouts loved it.
We are really glad we decided to take this on and off trolley tour instead of trying to navigate and park our car ourselves all over historic Savannah. It was well worth the cost. We started when the trolleys began at 9 am and went until the end of the tour times at 5 pm.. The drivers were very informative. The stops were convenient to the most interesting sites, restaurants, and shops. The trolleys ran frequently enough that we never had to wait too long for the next one.
Really didnt expect much from this tour as Im not normally a big guided/bus tour person, but it was actually very informative, funny, and interesting. Loved the characters who popped on and off occasionally and gave short monologues, and our tour guide was so good that we didnt believe him when he said that this was his first day (and even first tripas a guide!Id recommend signing up and opting for the hop-on-hop-off package so you can visit some of the places the bus passes as you learn about their history. It could easily be a full day of sight seeing and adventures.
Highly recommend doing this hop on/off tour! We had one day in Savannah and they helped us pack so much in to so little time. We rode the trolley around on/off all day and then signed up for the night time ghost tour that included dinner at The Pirates House. Our night time guide, Chuck, was so knowledgeable and entertaining. He even dropped us off at our truck at the end of the night. Overall it was an amazing experience and we would absolutely do it again if/when we come back.
Loved our Segway Tour Rick was an exceptional guide, very friendly, patient, very knowledgeable of the history!😊
The tour was okay. We pulled up next to the other tour company and could listen to their tour guide while we were stopped in traffic. My husband and I agreed that we would have liked the other one better.
Anna from Savannah was a fantastic tour guide. The tour was wonderful and showed highlights of the city. Anna was very knowledgeable about the different places we visited.
This was a great way to tour downtown Savannah. Very affordable- well worth the price!
The trolley is a great way to see Savannah. I loved the flexibility of getting on and off whenever I liked. I could explore around for a bit and then hop right back on. I was on 3 different trolleys and Brian was by FAR the best trolley guide. He was so knowledgeable and personable. You’re in luck if you happen to jump on his car.
We were in savannah for a weekend and to roam around the city of savannah we booked the old town trolley tours of Savannah. It is a hop-in and hop-out bus and it has 15 stops around downtown of savannah. They also tell the significance about each stop and history related to it. Everyone should definitely do the hop-in hop out bus to know about the history of savannah. The one recommendation that i can provide is that you guys should develop a mobile application which provides information about different stops as well as inform the tourists about the bus route. So, it will help everyone especially tourists regarding the bus stops and tours.
Excellent tour by Sue in the morning and another at the end of day by Gina! Even got excellent local suggestions for some of the best places to eat.
Absolutely loved the on and off option of the tour. It was a great way to learn some history of the area while taking a break from walking around. All the trolley drivers we had were great!
Absolutely loved that we could get on and off anywhere through the town. We had the freedom to see what we wanted and skip what we didnt care for without having to navigate the streets or find parking. We enjoyed the history that was told by each driver. We highly recommend especially if you only have one day to explore like we did.
Old Town Trolley Tours is the only way to see historic Savannah! Everything from the knowledgeable drivers, the oh so convenient on/off tour, and the fantastic tour route. My wife and I decided to do the 2 day on/off trolley tour on our first time ever in Savannah. Without a doubt it was well worth it! It gave us the opportunity to spend two days exploring Savannah because one day would have not been enough for us. We parked at the Old Town Trolley Welcome Center at 214 West Boundary Street and began our tour there. We rode our first trolley completely through all 15 stops which I highly recommend! It allows you to get a feel of the surroundings and also listen to the unscripted driver/guide provide fascinating facts about the city and points of interest. Starting our second trip around, we hopped on a different trolley at the original stop and from there we spent the rest of our day shopping, eating, picture taking, and visiting museums at any of the 15 stops we wanted to hop off at. We sometimes would spend an hour or more walking and whenever we got tired or inquisitive, we would just hop back on another trolley at the nearest stop. A convenient map provided by the guides makes it very easy.We spent two full days seeing all that we could see and still felt like we could have seen more! Savannah is an absolutely beautiful city full of history, good eats, and photo opportunities.I highly recommend Old Town Trolley Tours! If you really want to be able to relax and not feel rushed seeing all there is to see, (and there is a lot!then I recommend the 2 day tour if you have the time.
Love to hop on these trolleys whenever theyre in a town Im visiting. Such a convenient way to figure out if an area or attraction is worth exploring more or skipping. The tour guides are friendly, fun and full of information. Plenty of stops in great areas to see the touristy spots of Savannah. We bought our tickets at the welcome center, though the two women at the desk werent very welcoming - not a great first impression. We hopped on and off and met 4 different guides. I appreciated how they didnt accost the passengers for tips. Kindly place your tip in the jar upfront - they definitely earn them!
I would highly recommend doing this if you’re visiting Savannah for the first time. You can hop on and off at any point, and the tour guides were all very knowledgeable and well-spoken. They operate from 9am-5pm, with the last trolley leaving at 5pm and taking you back to the main center. They provide running commentary about all the stops and you’ll be able to thoroughly cover your bases with a tour. They have $5 off coupons at random places in the city (we got ours from the Leopold’sand you can pay at the center. Credit cards are accepted there. It’s a kid-friendly activity. About half the people did wear the masks, while the other half didn’t. It’s open seating and there are transparent shades if it’s too sunny. The steps going into the bus are pretty steep and someone did fall coming down, so be careful! Overall, it was a fun experience for those looking to get a sense of Savannah.
This tour was amazing. We learned so much and had an excellent tour guide/driver. We went the full tour and it took about an hour and a half. Sharing a few pics of some sites. It would be a little pricey for a family but for a couple it was worth not all the walking!!
We did the holiday lights tour and it was magical! We went in the second week of December and there really werent that many lights up on residences but the tour was still full of merriment with holiday music, bells, and Savannahs holiday history from the driver. The tour also stopped at the Davenport house and the River front which was very cool. Took about 2 hours and was very much worth it and we would love to go again! Yule was our guide/driver and he was amazing!
What a beautiful city with such a rich history! The tour is a wonderful way to get an overview of historic Savannah. The architecture is unparalleled and full of beauty and charm. The tour guides are wonderful and have really cool information. There are 15 stops on the tour from the river, historic homes, parks (even the park where much of Forest Gump was filmed), restaurants, shopping and more!
Had a great time riding the hop-on/hop-off Old Town Savannah Trolley Tour. We enjoyed our first driver who had a down home southern charm and told stories of the various sites as we drove around. A little too much embellishing at times but still very entertaining and quite informative. Our second driver was more factual and less story telling but just as fascinating and enjoyable. We liked the experience and loved the atmosphere of the town - the trolley fits well into the Savannah scene and was well done. Our only issue was at the beginning when we drove up to park was the inattentiveness of the staff and the general lack of courtesy. They were not welcoming, rather short, and then a little discourteous when we did ask for clarity. People dont know what do do and would love more information and pleasantness. If you work in the hospitality industry please at least try to be hospitable. This was the only real blemish on our experience with Old Town Trolley Savannah Tours.
Took a trolley tour of Savannah and saw this coffee shop, Savannah Coffee Roasters. So glad we came back. Great coffee, vanilla honey latte! Had the Low Country Boil shrimp & andouille sausage on gluten free bread with a salad. So delicious!!! The Dijon balsamic vinaigrette dressing was awesome! Great meal and great trolley ride on the Old Town Trolley with Cindy! She narrated the entire tour with southern hospitality and charm.
So fun!! We did the entire tour. But, you’re able to get on and off when needed. It’s a great way to see Savannah. We couldn’t have seen this much had it not been for the trolley tour. Highly recommend! Our driver taught us several things on history also.
Tour was an excellent way to be able to see and learn about the city of Savannah. The fact that you got parking included and they gave you fun history all throughout the tour. Well worth the money.
This is definitely a top notch tour to take while you are in Savannah. Our guide was Mr Comedy and boy did he make it an awesome experience. His knowledge of the city combined with his comedy style made the 1.5 hour tour fly by quickly. Parking was free and easy at the location on MLK street. Be sure and request to ride with Mr. Comedy. You are set for an amazing tour of Savannah
Perfect! Enjoyed the narrated history and humor from the different guides/drivers. Savannah is a beautiful city with such rich history. It is a very friendly place. I would definitely recommend the two day ticket. First day to learn the trolley riding process and decide what areas you are most interested in; the following day to hop on and off and explore! Looking forward to returning!!
