Savanah Restaurant - East African restaurant in Buur Gaabo, Somalia
Nice foodGood customer serviceAnd very clean ✅
I enjoyed one of the best food in London and exceptional service last night. I highly recommend it. Opportunities: I wished they served the Earl Grey tea.
masha allah the food was absolutely delicious
the food was not fresh the next day i felt sick and never go back.
I when to this restaurant yesterday and after I ate with two of my friends we all had a food poisoning. The next day we were all experiencing the same symptoms which was constant tummy ache and also diarrhea honestly it was unbearable. 🤢🤮🤢🤮I honestly wouldnt recommend anyone to go eat there.
Lovely food, quick, customer service very good. All rounder 5star
Absolutely the most disgusting food ever I always go once every 1/2 years and it always disappoints me. This is the last straw now I will never go back. The customer service and experience is nonexistent really feeling let down.
excellent food and great customer service! Definitely recommend this place for anyone wanting to try somali food.
Great food. Great hospitality. Very clean . Absolute hidden gem. Thank you for a great evening. Kids very welcome too.
Lovely somali food and customer service
I do not understand why the manager needs to watch me eat 24/7 every time I come to this restaurant, it’s annoying and extremely uncomfortable. Other than the food is 10/10
Food was good but needed more seasoning. Was with my cousin who explained the service and I was glad she did because the service wasnt as professional as I had envisioned. Portion sizes are generous and the meat fell off of the bone... Just wished we had some salt or pepper on the table
The worst service ever!!!! Literally waited for over 1 hour and people came 30 minutes after us and they got their food way before us. Never come here again!! 🤢🤢
The place has gone so down hill the past couple of years, the quality of the food is not how it used to be. But what I can still say that the chicken salad bangs, legit the best chicken salad I have ever had and I don’t even it salad.
Nice atmosphere but the food arrived little cold , other than that all good
Great CS, great atmosphere but the food tho.. I really think they can do some much better. Taste like something I would make at home. And the fact that they DON’T have bananas with the rice is just crazy to me tbh!! But other then that nice place👍🏾. 6/10
VERY BAD EXPERIENCETHEY HAVE NO MANNER at all.Calling them for a booking and put you on hold for 7mins.Bad service you guys can get better service somewhere else.People who gave them 5 ☆ are their freinds period.Very bad service
Nice place to eat Somali Traditional food. Lovely restaurant.
Worst food I ever had , secondly is a Somali food where is the banana , where is the moos 😭The place looks beautiful but the food hell no…Either they need to learn how to cook Somali food or close it 😞
Friendly & welcoming, fast service! Food was flavourful, Good value for money and decent portion sizes. Highly recommend, would happily return when visiting London/Shepherds Bush area again. About 8-10mins walk direct from Westfield/ tube station. We had the Saquur(not sure on spelling)! It was chopped lamb with mash and rice and cooked to perfection. We also ordered the Ricotta Ravioli which was fresh, really enjoyed both.No vegan options but there are a few vegetarian choices. Mocktail drinks were delicious!
Lovely food and great service from the staff.
The restaurant was clean, mouth watering food and friendly staff.
Today my daughter got me the lamb shoulder with rice and salad plus the date cakeOmg I was so disappointed with the whole thing I put in binThe meat was rotten and the rice had gone off it small so badThe salad was off tooWe used to go savannah restaurant in bush Saturdays as family They really disappointed meFood safety is needed
A modern yet tradition Somali resteraunt with a bustling, loud atmosphere. Serving both tea, coffee and drinks on the first floor and dinning underground. The portions have shrunk from the last time I came however the taste is still as brilliant as last time. The main dishes of lamb shank, shoulder, lasagne and salmon were all savoury and delicious. Simple flavours yet done well, not spicy and not sweet. The rice, spaghetti and chips on the other hand were all unfulfilling in their portion sizes and mediocre in taste, not bad but just not exciting. The sauces were fine, there was a nice sweet sauce on the salad which was pleasant and there was also a green chilli sauce which was not to my liking, a little too bitter and overbearing in garlic. The deserts were well priced but fairly small and took a long time to come out. The date cake is spoken well of and unique, a bread/pudding type dessert but is nothing special. The chocolate cake is soft and creamy. The ice cream is nice but is tiny, the custard is very runny but still nice and sweet. The tea and coffee and pretty bog standard. Its a very humble establishment with some modern elements like fancy lighting, loud music and mixed crowds. Most staff are friendly and are at hand. The waiting times can be quite long and its often the case you might not get the food you wanted, they seem to limit items of food per group. Overall id give a rating of 3 and a half, an increase in portion sizing would boost the score higher very easily.
Don’t understand what the fuss is about. Only thing I enjoyed was the bread and hummus. Chicken tasted off, the shoulder was full of fat and tasteless and the rice tasted like it was put in the microwave! Never going back
Delicious food, very crowded and loud but a good atmosphere.
The customer service was atrocious. The waiters were ignorant and impolite. If you are looking to eat food do not come here they said our dish was unavailable and then minutes later someone else was served the exact dish
Great experience kind staff, amazing hummus generous rations and so tasty we’ll come back for sure!!!
Actually such a vibe. Great atmosphere and food was good. Friendly staff and all dat. Savannah chicken was bussin and those virgin lime mojitos were good too.10/10 would come again. Actually already did so like it’s good yeh.
Badly designed space, it needs a lot of work. The staff are polite and hardworking but the conditions of the place needs improvement. Food is also good but only for takeaway.
Lovely service, polite and smiling waiting staff. Willing to help. Food hot and adequate portions . Clean and welcoming. My first visit and will definitely come again. Recommend the timir (date cake), absolutely delicious. Thank you for a lovely experience
First time visiting this restaurant and was impressed with the service, quality and taste of the food. Had the lamb shoulder which was cooked perfectly, with the meat just falling off the bone. The veg accompanying the meat was nicely done. Rice was done perfectly, and tasted great. Spice level was really mild, but they provided a chilli chutney/sauce which gave the dish a nice kick. Overall, glad I went and would definitely return in future.
Great delicious food, excellent customer service, the chap who served us has gone beyond his duties very polite with distinctive smile 😊 well done Adam. Highly recommended Savanah chicken… thank you all love to come to visit
Came back here after couple years, and the food was a disappointment. This place was known for it’s taste, and that’s not there anymore. Expect to wait for at least for 1:30hrs for starters. The starters and mains were below acceptable. Would not recommend this place to anyone.
Lovely tasty food. Good service the date cake is a must and the savannah chicken and chicken escalope was the best the meat shanks are also very soft and succulent
Um it was really nice but they have forget my fork gave people who came after us they food and we order the same thing the pasta tastes like water and they strawberry drink had so much mint even though I asked for less mint and less ice and there was so much ice too but other then that it was good
Lovely restaurant, delicious food, clean, beautiful decor, good service and great prices. Will definitely be returning soon and recommending to others to visit.
I came to this restaurant with my family on Friday night I ordered a chicken escalope it did not taste nice quite frankly the rice had a strange smell it tasted like cardboard. the mash potato was runny the vegetables had a strange taste The Pinna colada my sister ordered she did not like it it tasted funny and left a odd taste in her mouth. My mum did not like the food she ordered
Ordered lamb shank and pasta linguine with white mushroom sauce. It was delicious and the salad and mashed potato that came with it were great. The service was excellent and the price was the best of all. We had 4 adult meals plus one kids meal for under £50. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
We came here for lunch and was told food was still being cooked. So we decided to wait since food will be fresh. 20mins later the rice I was served was dry and cold and it definitely did not looked like it was cooked today. The guy who served me appeared rude and arrogant and insistent it was fresh. Customers service in this place is awful, their food below average and sometimes they swerve food from previous days with microwave heated.A
Delicious food with a wide variety of choices on the menu. My favourite is the grilled chicken with a side of spaghetti, though the lamb shank is also superb. Excellent value for money as the portions are very large. The date cake and chocolate cake are a MUST with the unique custard. The atmosphere of this restaurant is very warm and welcoming. The waiters and waitresses are all very hard-working and respectful towards the customers. All in all, a brilliant place.
Food is rather bland, not as good as it used to be. Not impressed at all.
Excellent food, very tasty. My very first time trying a somali dish.
Second time Ive been here and second time theyve ran out of meat. Managed to get there at 8pm and they only had lamb shoulder available which tasted amazing and was at a great price. Such a shame most of their meat dishes are always gone.
Lovely Somali restaurant. Food is spot on and well presented. Service can be a bit slow but the staff are very polite which is something I would take over fast service anyday. The atmosphere is relaxed. I have been twice now as I was so imoresßed the first time. Prices are reasonable considering the dishes. Most mains come with either rice or pasta. I had the lamb shank with pasta. For those who have not had Somali food before its well worth trying this place. My only issue was the music was a little loud on my second visit.
This is great place for upgraded east African restaurant where you can have family, friends and business meeting. Where you can book for small conference with screen projector For slides.
Horrible lighting, horrible atmosphere. Music would be either too loud or turned off whilst the waiter took a call.Horrendous service. Waiter took 10 minutes to even give us a menu. Seemed to be preoccupied with his phone. We asked for water and one of the glasses were broken, after asking for a replacement, it took 10 minutes for him to bring another glass, with visible limescale on it.Didnt get to try the food, we were told our lamb dishes would take 15 minutes. We waited 40 minutes after which I asked how long it would take, to which the Waiter replied "10 minutes".I noticed that others who came after us were being served their food before us, even the same dishes that we ordered. At that point, we left.
Incrediblly delicious, extremely tasty food.... good prices
The menu can be a bit misleading, for instance the king prawns are actually tiny shrimps.Mum and I felt slightly out of place. The below ground seating area was a huge shame as well. It is quite dismal, and you do feel like you are underground. The tea arrived cold.I cant fault the service and the flavours, they tried and we finished the food.I wouldnt go again though
Delicious Somali food and nice atmosphere. Totally recommend the the date cake and somali tea which is similar to chai tea. For savoury food I would recommend the mango chicken salad and lamb cubes with pasta.
