Sato - Japanese restaurant in Manama, Bahrain
Pricy but good food. I come from Saudi
The staff is very friendly specially ShaninThe sushi is good, normal
Good ambient and high standard services. Food is good but the prices are quite high than my expectations.
I used to enjoy this restauraunt a lot and it was my go to place for any special occasions. Due to a misunderstanding regarding a promotional offer, the supervisor, Shanin, was extremely rude and unprofessional. I don’t think I would ever come back although Raymond is one of the best chefs to eat from.
Their food is great!🍱🫶🏻
Excellent food, good service, but not the atmosphere. There was a clear attempt to give the restaurant a Japanese vibe but I think they could have done a lot better. Oh and the being inside Gulf Hotel doesnt help the place either in my opinion.
I have to give a shout out to the hostess Shainin B. She was extremely helpful and very attentive. And gave amazing recommendations the rocket shrimp is on point!. Overall great experience.
Beautiful Atmosphere, very warm and professional welcome and the staff ate so humble.. the food is super delicious
Fantastic service, great ambience and fresh sea food. Must try!
Good services , vibes , food and price 😋🤍I recommend Samurai sushi and first kiss for drinkThank you Ms.Shanin 🤍
Bad evening in a good resturant
Love their food especially the sushi and the fried rice. Mixed drinks were amazing too.The staffs? All were really friendly and nice, the chef made our foods so delicious and makes funny jokes as well.Overall, me and my friends enjoyed our dinner.
Went there and ate shoyu matawa ramen which was spectacular and the service was great aswell.
Fresh seafoods. Excellent customer service👍
you’re Friday? wonderful
We lived in Japan for 3 years and this restaurant reminded me of Japan. Id say its 4.5 stars, but since I cant give 1/2 I rounded up because of the ambiance, its a beautiful place. The food was delicious and the service was great. I will absolutely go back and take my family, I know they will love it as much as I did.FYI - it is a restaurant that was open during the day during Ramadan if you are looking for a place to go.
The interior was terrible, lights, table, wall and flooring looks like it hasnt been changed since 1950s and food was beyond average. Not worth it at all.
Great popular Japanese restaurant in the Gulf Hotel. The Tepanyaki Bar is really fun for larger groups too. Food always delicious.
format? month. birthday
Beautiful place ! Great food .We had our valentine dinner there , it was amazing ! Set menu with 24k gold flakes on the food 😌 , sushi , all the food was delicious !To be honest couldn’t finish it all .Absolutely love it ❤️
I went there for Valentine’s Day and got a private room. The place was wonderfully decorated and the staff very attentive.I ordered 3 things:1Sashimi: was a little disappointed because for a 5 stars Japanese resturant, it wasn’t as amazing as some other places in Bahrain.2Grilled beef tare moto: it was one of the best beef dishes I had in Bahrain, very freshly prepared and the flavour was unique (not sweet but a little bit yes)3Banana Tempura: It was good but I felt it could be a little sweeter.
Price quality was poor. Main dishes were disappointing. Sashimi and rolls were good.
Hands down the freshest fish in Bahrain! The spicy tuna roll was to die for - perhaps the best spicy tuna I ever tried. This is a place for serious sushi lovers - its very Japanese and isn’t about the frills, its about quality fish served as authentically as possible. Amazing.
We had the chef cook in front of us. It was an awesome experience filled with laughter. Ricky is the best. Hope to go there again soon.
Food was great .. worth a try ..
One of my favorite original Japanese restaurants in Bahrain but my main problem with it, is that the quality keeps fluctuating and I have both, good and average experiences dining in.
Amazing food and good service. Wasnt kept waiting long at all, the sake was hot (rather than luke-warm), and the beef we had was incredibly tender. Highly recommend the Teppanyaki Set A.
Had an amazing birthday celebration with my friends and family here at Sato. All of the food is at its best quality! From appetizers to main courses to desserts. Also, their service is really great. Staffs are so attentive and they always check if everything’s in place and in order. They also gave us a surprise birthday cake with sweets and fruits and sang happy birthday. We are all really satisfied. Moreover, the price is very reasonable with the quality of food and great ambiance. My fav is the tenderloin beef and the sushi 🍣 Everything tastes great!
We attended a special event. They had a Japanese French visiting chef prepare a special menu. The fusion of the flavors was fantastic.
Always great to come here.. amazing choices and always spot on suggestions by the Chefs. Special thanks to Chef Chris.. I never had to check the menu when hes around.. always picks the most fresh ingredients available and always surprises me with new dishes!Salute Chef Chris 🖖
Staff need to be more experienced & clear explaining ladies night 50% off at beginning instead of explaining it after bringing the bill..One of the first Japanese resturants in Bahrain.. cant go wrong with Gulf Hotel resturants..Tempura Banana must try
Very nice place food was delicious and service was good although we went on weekend night and last call order. Our food reached late
Haven’t been here for a very long time, I gave the Sushi mania a shot, and it was good for the price (BD 15 for all you can eat)We had a small misunderstanding with the waitress (when we asked for the crab sticks to be removed from the sushi she told us that this will be considered “alteration of the Promotion” and though it was done twice earlier, the chef will not do it anymorebut all that appeared to be her misunderstanding and was soon sorted out by chef Kevin who was very professional and offered us complimentary dessert.
A promise of premium Sushi that falls flat, the atmosphere is nice, but I expected much more from quality of fish served or the taste of the rolls, even the salmon aburi had a funky taste and the sauce lacked of flavour, the salmon sashimi is B grade at best, and the maki rolls werent special at all.Overall this place is definitely not worth it, much better sushi places are out there that offers better quality fish and ingredients.Only 2 positive things were the decor and service and also the maki rolls were well constructed, everything else was a shame.
Overall good experience, immaculate service which we can tell they pride themselves over. The food was mostly ok, but the Ramen soup we ordered tasted quite bad, and when we noted this to the server, she reported back from the chef that it was our taste buds that were not correct.....not the appropriate response to a customer. It was such an over-salted and vinegary broth I cannot imagine anyone believing this is how Ramen should taste. However they did remove this from the bill and we were grateful for their understanding.
very nice place and decorations, better to book your table and ask to prepare the food on the time of arrival, little bit overpriced and they dont have much variety of sushi like one other place
An immersive dining experience on Japanese short leg table "Chabudai", complemented by traditional Japanese cuisine, and impeccable service, all together a truly memorable experience, exactly what to expect from a Gulf Hotel eating venue.
I was impressed so much, services are fantastic. The price is a bit high if compared to the other Japanese restaurants in Bahrain,
I am always looking forward to their Sushi Night. You will get more than your moneys worth. Great food choices, and superb customer service. Great place to celebrate your special occasions too. The staff will make sure that your day will be remarkable.
I celebrated my birthday here, food was amazing so was service. Price was high but fair to this kind of restaurant. I would definitely come back to eat there.
Ive been coming here for over 20 years, its definitely my favourite restraunt in Bahrain. The private tepenyaki rooms are great for big families.
My favourite restaurant in Bahrain, and has been for 20 years... love the teppanyaki table!Chef Kevin has also recently reinvigorated the menu.. a must try 🌟
Very authentic restaurant serving Japanese food. The test might be not suitable for Bahrainis. If you like the original Japanese food then you will like Sato food.Reasonable prices and good big portion.Very helpful and cheerful staff.Great atmosphere.
This is the best japanese place in Bahrain. Amazing jaapanese food, friendly staff, andBeautifully decorated. Chef chris is the best!
Went to Sato twice so far for sushi night. To be honest, the sushi isnt too bad. Dont expect VERY GOOD sushi but not very bad. Its descently good for all you can eat sushi.I uploaded a menu of what the offer for Sushi Night(all you can eat). When they are busy, which they will I recommend calling in for reservations, they are slow in bringing sushi to the table. The longest Ive waited was almost thirty minutes for my sushi and the restaurant was PACKED but still not a legit reason to take that long... Nonetheless overall I saw they are alright. Its all you can eat for 12BD. Cant expect too much for that awesome price.
The best Sushi 🍣 Maki rolls in town. Crab 🦀 salad 🥗 was magnificent. Thank you chief Ronnel & TaTA and the warm host MS Pauline. ❤️thank you very much will come back again for sure. The sushi 🍣 is in Gulf Hotel don’t miss it Fraj and delicious by the bar to really enjoy it.
Ive always been a fan of this restaurant. If i want to splurge on japanese food, sato is the best place for me. Great food, ambiance and outstanding staff! Shanin,Pauline and for the special mention -GIEZEL served our group. Giezel made sure that we will not go wrong with our orders since other friends are first time and we wanted to try almost all the flavors of their sushi. It was my friends bday that night and Chef Kevin gave her a special cake surprise. And not just an ordinary one slice of cake... It has different sweets on it! Ice cream, cheesecake, mochi, and some others that im not familiar with but all so good!! Thank you Sato for making my dining experience great as always! Il be back on march 17 with a different group this time.
Just the entryway into Sato Restaurant was impressive, immersing you into an amazing atmosphere. It makes me feel like I was in Japan again. The team in Sato greeted us at the door with a Japanese welcome and taiko drum, and we were able to snag the iconic chabudai dining area. Think of those classic Onsen Resorts and youre pretty much there at Sato.My friend and I may have ordered one too many sushi/sashimi dishes just so we could have the novelty Sushi Boat, but I would have to say that it was very worth it. The favorite roll out of all menu items that we ordered, I would have to say, was the Godzilla Roll. Partially because of the combo of ingredients, but mostly because of the name. Our hostess was Giezel, and she was attentive and easily found conversation within our group. She had even mentioned the many special offers the restaurant had. I didnt even realize that Tuesdays were when the the menu was discounted 50%, and that every third Sunday was a $10 all you can eat buffet. To be honest, I was stuffed full by that point, and thinking about a sushi buffet did not sound so appealing. But one day. One day, I will come back so hungry (maybe with a few more dinner matesso we can eat an excessive amount of sushi. And dessert. Gotta save room for dessert. And the hibachi grill.
Excellent food, great service, very nice ambiance. Pricey, but worth it for a special occasion.
Nice Ambience. Good Service. Great Food.
