Sass in Lugano

Ottimo ristorante, servizio eccellente e molto cordiale....prezzi da "piazza riforma" (purtroppo)

Très bon accueil, belle terrasse, un peu déçue du dessert : mais où est passé labricot ?

Zugegeben sehr freundliche Bedienung, gaben sich Mühe, es hat aber vieles nicht geklappt (falsches Essen geliefert, Getränkebestellung vergessen). Das Essen war nicht üppig, man wird nicht satt. Der PokeBowl für 30.- war eher ein kleiner Salat ohne Inhalt der sättigen könnte (zB Reis). Das Tartare wird ohne Gewürze und ohne Toast abgegeben. Das Rib-Eye medium war max rare serviert. Am Nebentisch sahen die Speisen besser aus, aber das war nur ein Eindruck. Die Weinauswahl ist sehr gut!Würde nicht mehr zum Essen kommen, für ein Glas Wein ist es ok.

Davvero un ottimo ristorante/vineria! Personale molto cordiale, e ottimi piatti. La qualità della materia prima è davvero eccellente. Buoni anche i vini scelti (abbiamo preso un merlot ticinese).Unica pecca (per questo non ho dato 5 stelle), il vinsanto.Da un ristorante/vineria di questo standing (dove comunque paghi la qualità dei prodotti), mi sarei aspettato un Vin Santo con i fiocchi e di ottima qualità...Un consiglio? Date un occhio al Vin Santo Nettare Degli Dei (vinsantobrogioni.com), il migliore mai assaggiato e presente in alcuni dei ristoranti Stellati di Milano e Firenze (personalmente lho scoperto al ristorante stellato IYO di Milano, ma so che è presente anche da Aimo e Nadia, al Salumaio di Montenapoleone).

Un super restaurant avec un accueil chaleureux et agréable, sans blabla et sans chichi. Un personnel aux petits soins et des plats de très hautes qualités et très bien présentés. A découvrir lors de votre passage à Lugano. Un grand merci à toute léquipe pour le bon repas et la belle soirée passés dans cet établissement.

Service ist schon mehr italienisch als schweizerisch, dafür aber klassisch. Eine Super-Location, um einen kleinen Biss zu nehmen oder etwas zu trinken.

Excellent food & wine, reasonably priced, professional and friendly service. Would highly recommend!

One of the fun things about Lugano, is the many restaurants you can choose from, and we think we found one that stands out from the rest, and that is Sass Cafe Granted there is enough Italian restaurants in Lugano to choke a horse, and Sass Café is not necessarily Italian, it is more international and diverse, but the ravioli dishes they offer as well as the rest of their menu card is really something to enjoy. The service is outstanding as well as the ambiance of the restaurant with nice Jazz music in the background, go and enjoy.

Do una stella ma ne avrei date 0!Una mia amica ed io (con 3 bimbivolevamo bere un caffé e ci siamo recate in questo locale.Il cameriere (signore sulla 50inanon ci ha nemmeno salutate.Gli abbiamo chiesto dove potevamo accomodarci e questo cameriere ha iniziato a indicare tutti i tavoli dicendo “questo é riservato, anche questo é riservato, anche quello é riservato” eccc.Allora gli ho chiesto quale fosse il tavolo non riservato e lui non ci ha nemmeno più risposto.Abbiamo chiesto quale fosse il suo problema e che volevamo parlare con il responsabile ma non ci ha risposto e ha continuato ad apparecchiare i tavoli.Servizio davvero vergognoso, sarà forse perché ci ha viste con i bambini?Per quanto ne sa questo cameriere, potevamo spendere e spandere ma di sicuro non ci metterò mai più piede.

Incredibly slow and bad food.

Lets say it this way: If you have money (or at least look like itthere will be great service and nice staff. If you are "poor" (Im a studentit wont be very fun in this restaurant. Youll feel like youre not wanted and have low priority to the staff.

I wished I could give a good review.We arrived and asked if we could still eat with two. No problem!We saw two other tables being served and another table watching the menu card.The table was cleaned and dressed, we received the menu card. After 15 minutes the waiter came, to take our order we thought."The kitchen is closed" and we were made clear it was not possible to order anymore. When slightly protesting by being led to a table and handed the menu, the only explanation was a shrug and a "I cant help it". While tables around us still were eating.Very strange, considering this would be a more higher standing place. We received very good service and food at the competition across the Square.

I was not able to enjoy even a drink at the caffe. First of all the staff was not happy when we said we would like just to have a drink. After waiting 10 minutes and when my father got bored and took the ashtray from the nearby table the waiter took it form his hands and put it back on the table without any explanation. Waiters were adjusting other tables and many customers were waiting to ask the order. This is unacceptable, especially if you are in the main square of a city in Switzerland. Shame on you!

The best restaurant on the piazza! We always come to this restaurant when we are in Lugano. Great food, great people, great place! We LOVE it❤

The charm of the manager and the super friendly staff makes you feel welcome directly. We highly can recommend this tasty and unique restaurant witch is in the middle of the Piazza.

Amazing dinner, don’t miss the Gazpacho with Falafel in this excellent restaurant in prime location with view on the beautiful Piazza Riforma. I usually never go to restaurants in such locations because the quality of food is oftentimes not very good. Sass Café is a welcome exception to the rule. Don’t miss when visiting Lugano - a real original 🔝👍! And in case you are from Lucerne you even find a piece from “home” in this place. Explore the interior to find out what I mean😉

Overall it was very good, nice place, good food and above all very central! Very friendly people and great service!

Good food but service was slow.

I have visited Sass Cafe many times in this month and I can truly say its a great place to visit and have a really tasty nosh-up or as well an aperitif followed with a snack. The entire staff is really attentive and provide the best service and commodity making you feel welcome, as well they provide options in any case you might have trouble deciding. In personal the dishes Ive tried have been wonderful, the chef Mr. Andrew and his team really pour their soul into what they prepare. I really recommend it.

Although we decided to enter in due to heavy rain, I was very satisfied with their service. I felt like it was a nice coincide for myself. Delicious and fast service.

Food is nice and not "touristic" at all ( tourists will love it as well ). Service a bit slow, but still pleasant and nice.

Great hotel, great view, great Spa!

Il locale affaccia su piazza riforma. In posizione vista lago, vista municipio e molto soleggiata. I barili al posto dei tavoli invitano a fermarsi anche solo per una bibita o un breve aperitivo. I piatti che propongono sono di ottima qualità e molto gustosi. Rapporto qualità quantità prezzo abbastanza buono. Il personale é molto cordiale e si lascia coinvolgere in qualche parola in più rispetto alle 2-3 frasi che si rivolgono al turista.

Posizionato nel cuore di Lugano, proprio di fronte al municipio della cittadina, un ristorante raffinato con sapori e piatti eccellenti e un servizio di altissimo livello. Tutto freschissimo e preparato sul momento, compreso il dolce, una Crème brûlée, la migliore da me gustata fino ad oggi...

it is a lovely and cozy cafe and restaurant and it has an excellent location at the main square of Lugano. i used to go there since summer 1995 when it used to be called Federale. i have great and lovely memories hanging out there.

Feel home

One of my favourite restaurants in Lugano! Easily accessible central location; with a menu that changes with the seasons and some interesting wines from the Ticino region. The lunch crowd is busy but not impossible.

Nice place (a little bit crowded), waiters are extremely slow and not well-organised, products are OK. Its a little bit expensive compared with the other wine bars close to it.

Upscale restaurant with good food, great service and apparently popular with the locals.
