We had an office party today at work to celebrate an individuals 10-years of excellence at our design firm. We ordered from Sargeant Taco. This was my first time having tried their food. It was spectacular. The dishes were all excellently prepared and the staff were flexible with their opening time to accomodate our lunchtime event.I found the spice level to be a little on the mild side, but the sauces were packed with a good balance of flavour, regardless.I will 200% be returning the next time I am looking to eat Mexican cuisine from a restaurant. Great job, guys!

The best Mexican food this side of Tijuana. The owner was very charming and gave me great advice on how to handle the drive across the country. Definitely worth a 2-day drive to get to this place. Do yourself a favor if youre in Winnipeg and check this place out. Fantastic! And dont forget to add the pan fried mozzarella. Its a must have.

This has been on my to-go places for a while and I finally had a chance to try it. The chorizo taco was delicious (fried cheese is a mustand their sauce delivered on the spice. The chicken one was okay.

Tacos were tasty. Two big problems. The beef was tough as leather. Also, it takes about 9 tacos to fill a grown man which comes to $30. Dont go here if you are a hungry man. Its bird food.

Tried this place for the first time today. I often keep an eye out for local mom and pop shops. Upon entering I was greeted warmly by staff. She had helped me choose my food, and that was very helpful considering its all authentic food. She did not steer me wrong. It was delicious and will be returning again. I also got mild medium and hot sauces and the mild blew me away lol

My go to place for authentic Mexican food. I have tried almost everything from their menu and nothing has disappointed me!My favourites are the al pastor tacos, beef flautas, churros, and their rice and beans. Everything on the menu is also very reasonably priced.There is a reason why you will usually see a line up outside their door and it’s because the food is that good!

For hubbys birthday we tried three different taco places in the city and this was our favourite! Definitely cant wait to go back.We got the chicken and mushroom tacos with the crispy cheese and were very impressed with the flavours.

Great authentic style tacos! Order a trio of chorizo and steak tacos and a side of Mexican rice. Tacos were very good and the rice was flavorful. Total was 13.50$, but I ordered the tacos and rice individually instead of getting a combo. Overall really enjoyed it and would definitely return. If youre looking for some Mexican style food beyond the local franchise spots, this is it!

Our first time trying this iconic authentic Mexican taco 🌮 restaurant.As a result of covid its been a while since weve been to Mexico for a hot vacation and we needed a Mexican cuisine fix in a big way.We were definitely not disappointed!!!We had chicken tacos, beef (with fried cheesetacos, chorizo tacos, a Mexican bowl, Mexican poutine, Pico de gallo and for dessert... churros with the caramel sauce.We were very pleased with the food; fresh, seasoned to perfection and soooo reminiscent of great tacos of Puerto Vallarta.The staff is hard working, friendly and got our order perfectly straight.The restaurant is clean and all covid protocols are followed.Thank you Sargent Taco for bringing Mexico to us for dinner!!!

So awesome. The price is unbeatable and the tacos are probably the best if not one of the best in the city. I absolutely love the chorizo and the chicken mushroom is killer, but you really cant go wrong with any of the choices. Fried cheese is great bcs when is more cheese not great.Staff are polite and friendly and service is quick and professional.They do take covid precautions seriously and allow lots of spacing and protection.I highly recommend checking them out. Its one of Winnipegs incredible hidden gems in a not so likely spot!

I visited Sargent Taco Shop on September 8, 2020 for dinner. This is a simple eatery serving authentic Mexican snacks or “antojitos.”They don’t specifically have any vegan options on the menu but you can ask for something to be made vegan and they will gladly do it! I ordered the three veggie tacos - mushroom, nopales and rajitas - requested no cheese and they substituted avocado instead. They all tasted delicious and flavourful!They are only doing take-out at the moment due to Covid but you can walk up and order inside and the service was very fast. The staff were friendly and prompt. Love this hidden gem and hole in the wall place and will be back for more Mexican food!

This place is tiny and the lunch rush is significant, parking can be challenging in a somewhat questionable part of town. That said, it is without question a legit taco shop that is pumping out some stellar product. The people behind the counter are hustling putting order together, they are friendly and speedy. You better believe this is going to turn into a regular destination. For what you get, the prices are more than reasonable. This place would kill in the suburbs, but for now, do yourself a favour and go eat here.

The big one is chicken mole, pork pastor style and steak with fried cheese with rice and beans side. Smaller one is chicken mole, pork pastor and chicken.All were delicious! Held up better than BMC in my opinion.

In his words... “their tacos bring me right back to Mexico City.”It’s absolutely critical you order your tacos with the fried cheese! Crispy and chewy on one side... gooey and delicious on the other. It elevates their already amazing tacos to a whole new level!

little hole in the wall taco joint. very authentic an super tasty. i highly recommend the beef lengua(cow tonguean the chicken&mushroom with cheese. careful the light orange sauce is very spicy. the green one is super tasty

Very deserving of its 5 star rating.Best tacos Ive tried in Winnipeg so far. The lebgua (beef tongueis fantastic along with the huitlacoche.We also did the quesadillas. It was interesting as there was ham inside. The saltiness brings out the other flavors nicely. At first I was doubtful, but found it was very good. The last beef Taco we had was mediocre. Flavors good but the meat a bit chewy.I heard the churros are the best. However sold out before we got there. I guess pro tip is get there early and order that right away. They go fast. If you can only have one dip, go for the caramel.

The chicken pipian taco was so, so good! It was one of the best things Ive eaten lately. One was not enough. Had it with the habanero salsa and it was perfectly satisfying. Will definately be returning for more.

Stopped here for quick dinner on a summer weeknight and we ate inside. The place has a modest look, but the warmth and friendliness of the staff make it charming. We ordered three tacos with the meal deal. The tacos were amazing with fresh ingredients that were flavourful and nicely seasoned. The accompanying rice and beans were super delicious. I dont know what they add to the beans, but they were unbelievable. Great selection of hot sauces too. Id definitely go back.

The owners of the shop are lovely and hard working. The value meals are such a great deal. You get an entire meal, including a Mexican slushie, for $10! The homemade churros are exceptional. It can get very busy in the evening.

Best tacos in Winnipeg! Wonderful flavours, very friendly couple that own/operate it, and unpretentious in every way. 3 tacos for $6 is a great price! I had tacos half this good at trendy places in Vancouver for twice the price. And the owners gave us samples of delicious homemade churros. Limited table space to eat in house, but mostly a takeout place. Go here! I do wish they could serve on something other than styrofoam.

First time at Sargent Taco Shop, I was so excited to eat, I forgot to take a picture before I had devoured 2/3 of the tacos! Yes it takes a bit of time but its totally worth it, these tacos are super delicious and so is the home made rice and beans. The owners are the servers and they are super nice folks. Oh yeah and there are at least 4 kinds of salsa!

This place is worthy of a 6 star rating. Absolutely off the charts good. True, authentic Mexican. Cant say much more, its that good. If youre going you must try the Mexican Iced Tea too! Havent tried the churros yet, theyre 6 for $5 after 4 pm.
