Saravanaa Bhavan Restaurant in Sharjah
Description
Privilege
Reminds me the taste of India away from India!!! Thanks!!!
Best place for tasting South Indian delicacies. Very clean and well maintained and awesome food
MoreGood restaurant for vegetarian only crowd.Taste is ok. varieties in menu is limited.reachable from the Aralanda express station.
MoreSaravana experience combo is recommended to taste Idly, Masala dosa and Poori on a single plate. Taste is good but not 100% matching to Tamilnadu standards. Walkable from Eriksplan metro to enjoy South Indian cuisine.
MoreAmazing genuine Indian kitchen!Last time I had a proper Malai Kofta was 20 years ago, and suddenly, there it was in front of me. I felt like being pulled back to Tamil Nadu and with a smile on my face, and a tear in my eye I realized that Saravanaa Bhavan delivers big time. All thumbs up for amazing genuine food without any western nonsense. If you are looking for a proper indian dining experience in Stockholm, look no further!
MoreDelicious South Indian food!😋
Excellent service, nice atmosphere and very accommodating to cater for my daughter that has several food allergies. Enjoyable experience and nice dosas on our first evening in Sweden.
MoreThe quality of food has not been to the same standard recently. I order from here a lot and have noticed that the flavour is not consistent in many of the dishes. The vegetable curry is watery and tasteless, they never have chappati available and the naan bread was soggy and inedible. I won’t be ordering or visiting again.
MoreFresh tasty vegetarian fooD !!FOOD at Saravana bhavan was something I looked forward during my trip to Stivkholm and I wasnt dissapointed. A must visit..Keep it up.
MoreIve been here many times eating different dosa or combo on each visit. All these dosas were delicious and the staff is very friendly asking me if I need extra chutney or sambar. I will definitely recommend this place for vegetarian south Indian food, especially for dosas. Heres some ghee onion rava masala dosa😁
MoreThis is a big chain serving vegetarian South Indian food which replicates the one from India. The ambience is quite dull and not very clean. As soon as I took a seat, I saw a cockroach crawl across which isnt really the sight youd like to be welcomed with. Ordered the Sambar Vada which was tasty but only the sambar was warm. I later had the Mysore Masala Dose and it seemed like the waiter left the order waiting in kitchen for quite some time and eventually was brought to the table by the chef himself. The dosa had gone cold and soft but the potato stuffing (palyawas piping hot which was the only positive. Would recommend if you want to try to some South Indian food but definitely not going back.
MoreOn one crazy evening around 6pm, I ordered masala dosa, Channa bhatura, and samosa- highly disappointed with Samosa dish(ordered to change and here I got again in picture), masala dosa was not crispy and hot(sambar was not fresh), and the overall presentation of food was unbelievable and I have never experienced in past 4 years in any Indian restaurant in Stockholm. After my feedback, I was not charged for samosa dish but it ruined my whole evening and my enthusiasm to choose this place is now over.
MoreExcellent food,Good Food equals to Good mood. The Menu is extensive and high standard. Definitely fine dining. It can be expensive but worth it. I visited for lunch with my friend. We were delighted by the authentic South Indian main course(thaali). The spices and flavors were extremely impressive for a vegetarian restaurant.Highly recommended.
MoreI had been to Hotel Saravana Bhavan in Stockholm and had an amazing nostalgia eating ghee roast masala dosa. It took me to those days back in Chennai, India where it was a regular custom for me to eat with friends and family in HSB. Dosa was crispy and the ghee gave a rich and delicious flavour to the dosa. The blending of flavours in the masala was a perfect combination to have. Great to see your efforts to maintain a high level of standard like how it always has been!
MoreGood food and quite reasonable ! Has two floors so no waiting time usually..located near the metro station st eriksplan..
MoreQuality was not good. Sambar was not at all original saravana bhavan taste and idli was not soft at all. Curd vadai was not good either. My review is authentic as I have eaten in every Saravanaa Bhavan in Chennai and the ones in Frankfurt, Munich, Hamburg Cologne & Amsterdam and all these locations were good. Also the menu is different compared to other European locations.
MoreI went to Saravanaa Bhavan for lunch. I am a fan of the food served by Saravanaa Bhavan in Connaught place, Delhi and I went there with the same expectation. It was good but not per my expectations. Food was nice and staff was courteous. Maybe they have adjusted the taste of the food according to the taste of the people in Stockholm. Anyways we Delhi people are very peculiar when it comes to food.
MoreQuick & friendly service. Food tasted good. The only negatives were that the place had insufficient air conditioning (in the summerand the winding stairway that leads to the lower floor is very narrow. Place isn’t very stroller friendly (though the staff are eager to help you out and figure out a solution). The toilet didn’t have a diaper changing table.
MoreJust the Dosa’s and they are expensive and as expensive as your thali… which is a very weird and intelligent pricing coming from this restaurant owner. So any thali combo is hopeless. Any Dosa combo is perfect… so how do you rate them? This place is spicy too… not recommended for kids. Be careful with the after affects. Great service but the food is purely Average… besides being purely vegetarian.
MoreThe location, atmosphere, service, menu is really good. However the TASTE has got downgraded severely. Sambhar is one of the specialty of South Indian food and I have had tasty sambhar in HSB but here in Stockholm it’s one of the worst. Be it vada or dosa or chutney or parrota, the quality is poor and it needs critical improvements.
MoreIm staying here in Stockholm for more than a month and Im having my food on all days. Im from Chennai South India and I dont feel like, Im away from home because of the awesome food I get in this restaurant. The most important stuff is the warm welcome of the people and the way they treat you with lot of happiness and greet you always with smile. I strongly recommend this place to have a tasty south Indian food. The place is also well maintained, neat and clean. You really feel lot rejenuvated after hearing a sweet light music along with your tasty food. Good work and continue the same.
MoreOne of the best South Indian restaurant in Stockholm. The food here is authentic. I ordered the combo which came with a dosa, vada, idly and puri. Recommended that you get the combo, then you can enjoy a lot of things together. The south Indian style filter coffee is also very good. Will definitely go here again.
MoreI have been travelling to Stockholm over the past couple of months and being a pure vegetarian from Chennai, this was the first choice place for me. What I found here was amazing! A young brigade of pleasing and energetic staff with a very experienced chef ably assisted by his colleague make this place a wonderful joint for some excellent food and some royal hospitality. Some of the items I tried which include Idli, Vada, Dosa, Poori, Thali, etc were quite authentic in taste and preparation. The dosas are really special here, though the other items are great too.The guys around know to manage big crowds and it is never too late to get your food. To make things easier for everyone, it is better to be in latest before 8:45 pm.The 5 star rating is for every aspect of this Reataurant,Friendliness of staffQuality of foodSpeed of serviceHygenic environmentEasily reachable location
MoreIf you are missing the authentic Indian breakfast, then this is the right place to be. The food is good with good service. You will find all kinds of south Indian breakfast dishes. The spice level is moderated.
MorePlease dont try it, idli, vada are very hard. The chutney and sambar are served from yesterday kept in fridge.
MoreSuper good south Indian food.My friend from India told me this is 7/10.He has been to Saravanaa Bhavan in India and said this is very good.Food was slow to arrive I think they lost our order 😅
MoreWe had the dosas, it was very good and took us back home. 5 stars.
I live in Denmark and I have always loved Saravanaa Bhavan food. So when I am traveling to a new city that has this restaurant, it is always on my itinerary. I specially booked 2 nights in a hotel close to Saravanaa Bhavan during my Stockholm holiday. I was quite disappointed by the food taste, it was unlike the superb quality that I have been eating at their restaurants as a child in India and also in other countries. The flavor was just not where. Everything was cold and very average, bland kind of taste. Still I will remain a fan but not return to Stockholm for just this.
MoreBatura was probably made from stale dough or old dough. It was oily and flaky. The paneer butter masala dosa was ok. The filling had some kind of hot and sweet sauce. It’s definitely not paneer butter masala. The sambar was too salty. The service was good but the food was terrible. Was disappointed with the food. Expected higher standards after reading the reviews and ratings.
MoreRestaurant is pure vegetarian. Quite decent place for south Indian food.Must try: Onion chilli tomato Uttapam, Sambhar Vada.Worth trying: Masala Dosa, schezwan noodle, Chilli paneer
MoreMy last visit here was a little disappointing. The food was unnecessarily spicy. The coffee was sweeter than the sweet dish. The staff too had no clue about what was going on. They were very defensive about the food instead of taking feedback about food. The same was felt by a group of people sitting behind me.
MoreThe dosa is to die for!I absolutely recommend anyone to order any of the dosas from the menu as I have not had anything this delicious in a long time.We also ordered the vegetable curry and aloo gobi which were both a bit too salty and basically two very similar dishes. The portions are generous, so recommend having no more than two plates per two people. The staff is lovely and service is very quick.
MoreSumptuous south Indian vegetarian meal here. We opted for the special thali and the Saravanaa Experience combined menu. Both great choices and gave an excellent representation of the dishes served here. The ghee roast, Mysore masala dosas are excellent, perfect with the sambar and chutneys. Also the paneer butter masala curry and the Malai kofta are worth sampling. And have a lime juice or Madras masala chai or coffee to wash it all down.
MoreHad a fabulous experience and amazingly delicious combo menu today along with all my frens... Great job Sarwana Bhawan, thanks for the delicious south indian experience. The sambar, rasam, chutney, halwa, dosas, everything was lip-smacking delicious. The masala chai was the cherry on the top. Thank you, we enjoyed a lot!
MoreNice place in Stockholm for Indian vegetarian foods. Specially south Indian dosa that I eat was awesome 👌. Delicious Sambhar, Coconut 🥥 Chutney and Dosa is worth eating. Ambience in the down stairs was nice with pleasant fragrance of heritage "Indian Agarbati". It will give you a nice spiritual and pure feeling to eat the food you order. Staffs are kind, gentle and more friendly. Give it a try! I hope you will love it. Thanks for reading 📚😀
MoreGood South Indian restaurant. Nice ambience. The food is really good especially the combos. As there are lesser South Indian restaurants finding Saravana Bhavan feels great. Must visit to try Dosas😍 Idli vada was also good
MoreAbsolutely delicious food, best Indian south Indian food in Sweden. Loved the dosas and coffee. Definitely worth the visit.
MoreSatisfied my craving for authentic South Indian food. Ordered meals and a combo with puri, dosa & idly+vada.
MoreLovely South Indian Restaurant, They have outer door sitting , Indoor and underground sitting arrangements. Very nice ambience and delicious food. I loved the Platter combos it’s cheaper and tastier. Here are some dinner combo set I had for 159 ! It was a amazing experience
MoreDONT Go here.. period.. the food was ridiculously costly and coconut chutney had a bad smell.. while complaining they didnt even care.. they said the smell is just fine and no one complained except you..they never took it seriously ... apart from that ambience is good and service was average.. very close to metro ..better try out some other south indian restaurant and i would not go here ever... Cheers
MoreGood place serving authentic south indian cuisine ..Excellent taste! But, telling me that they have run out of idlis and coffee powder for the day ...when I wanted to eat idlis and have a cup of coffee ..dampened my mood a bit ..but the cup of tea ...really made up for it ..smoking hot and just as tasty & refreshing !!
MoreExcellent vegan Indian food. Well balanced spices. Top notch among the best. If youre vegan or not doesnt matter, definitely check this place out! Good prices for lunch too.
MoreFood was excellent, couldn’t expect more from an Indian restaurant in Europe.Service could be faster but it was ok.Gobi manchurian was just ok but other South Indian dishes like Dosa, Idly and Poori were just right. Do try the combo meal for a wholesome South Indian experience 👍🏻
MoreGood place for trying an authentic South Indian fare. The sambar which is made up of a mix of spices, vegetables, lentils made like a soupy broth, is a must have.Their Saravana experience is a must try if youre visiting. But bear in mind youll have little space left for more.Their filter coffee or Madras coffee is a must have, but make sure you mention to get the sugar separately, and not premixed.Pro-seating-tip: dont sit next to the window as your food and youll get very cold as the windows are not double glazed.
MoreIf you are craving for good South Indian food then this is the place for you !! You will get different types of Dosa here..we tried Mysore masala dosa and rava masala dosa which was good.
MoreHad vegetarian combo for lunch. Food was not warm. Taste was not the best and the sad part was most of items were stale. Not satisfied with food. Good ambience and nice staff.
MoreReally awesome food and nice and helpful waiters. The food comes within 10 - 15 minutes and in generous portions. I would recommend the masala tea as a drink too. The restaurant space has seating areas upstairs and downstairs although with there is only one toilet downstairs. Its a nice space for small groups and is really cozy. Totally recommend
MoreWe tried a bunch of food, I dont remember what half of it was. I much enjoyed the Chilly paneer which I thought was the best dish. The Palak paneer however was really bland compared to other palak paneers Ive had. "Smooth spinach soup with paneer" sums it up pretty well :( The nan breads are tasty, but also very thin. Overall, pretty average. Also, we recieved one of the starters and then another (five minutes laterand then the next dish (after ten more minutesand so on. Beware if kitchen is busy (I guess). Its fine if youre a pack of hungry wolves that are ok with sharing tho, lol :)
MoreFriendly enough staff, but they seem to lack a system/method of addressing their customers. My friend and I also found the menu ... cumbersome to read (for a lack of a better word). I noted other patrons not getting what theyd ordered (ex. one drink instead of one drink each, the second one never showing up even after theyd pointed it out).
MoreIncredibly good! The recommendation I got of this place from a friend was so glowing that I kinda wanted to disbelieve it, but this is the best Indian food experience Ive had since that trip to India itself. Photos show #156, a mini-menu of sorts, and it was more than enough for even a big guy. Its slightly less spicy than in India, but still with enough bite to be really good; certainly more than normal Swedish "Indian food", and youll meet plenty of tastes here that are hard to find in Stockholm otherwise. To cap it off, service is very prompt and friendly (English default language), the venue is new and fresh (Jan 2019with 15-20 seats on ground floor and about 30 one floor down, and the prices are very reasonable. I can absolutely recommend a visit! 😊
