Saras Restaurant and Bar - Indian restaurant in Tahe, China
Good food.lovely staff , warm and welcoming.we had a pleasent time. We orderd chicken momo, tarka dal , Desi chicken 🐓. Absolutely amazing. Best food we have had in quite a while. We spoke to the lovely manager and she was great . I think people are missing out on this lovely place. Definitely recommend this place to everyone.
I went yesterday for lunch at 230pm as on the online menu and website says opens at 2pm on sundays, called them to check as i was told it opens at 5! The lady picked up as her restaurant phone was diverted to her mobile, she said we open at 3!Anyways waited for abit and the waiter said we need to change the menu time and on website! Needs to be done asap to avoid confusion. One negative. The place is nice, was quiet when i went, only 1 more family there due to it was middle of afternoon.I ordered tardka dal, aloo sag, rice ,salad and tandoori roti. All were nice apart from aloo sag, the spinach tasted like tin spinach puree, which i dislike. Fresh spinach needs to be used.My friend ordered tandoori chicken. He said it was nice.Food is abit pricy. Portions are standard portion. Each dish would be enough for 2 or 3 ppl.Overall good place for food. Will go back try more items.
Always amazing food❤️❤️❤️❤️ no complains 🙏 best authentic indian food 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Food was very nice and tasted very good. This was my first time here and I had the veg noodles, chilli paneer and gobi Manchurian. All dishes were very tasty and a food sized portion. I had to put ask for some to be packed up for take away.Staff were attentive when we called them. Service was slow even though the restaurant wasn’t that busy. However food arrived at the table piping hotThey serve veg and non veg meals which was off putting for a member of the family who didn’t like to eat in places where meal is cooked alongside veg dishes.Would dine here again or get take away to eat at home.
Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian starters are delicious.
I had the butter chicken and butter naan. Food came quickly and was very tasty, not too oily like most restaurants and full of flavour. Service was excellent too. Would recommend
Amazing food and amazing service. A guy named Jhay Meggi helped me out from the minute I walk into the door till I leave. If you need 10/10 service, ask for Jhay Meggi, hes amazing.
Very good food. Very nice atmosphere
Good food. Good quality and pleasant service.
Amazing Nepalese food, very authentic. Wonderful night out!
Decent food but £1.25 for a papadum is the reason we wont be going back
The customer service is excellent! So lovely and welcoming. The restaurant is calm and pleasant.I came after reading reviews saying that the food is great and portions should be generous. However, I was let down with both, the food and portion sizes. The vegetables in the karahi were some frozen mix of cubed carrots peas cauliflower and potato instead of fresh ingredients. The mushroom dish was too sweet and the mushrooms clearly came from a tin. Portions were also not too big but the bowls in which they came, were only half full.Because of the great hospitality of the staff, I will give three stars even if the food wasnt impressive at all mostly due to the lack of fresh ingredients and small size.
I stumbled upon Saras few years ago, since then I have been a regular here. The food is truly authentic Indian food. the owner are very welcoming and happy to customise the dishes as per your palate. There is a good selection of startes and mains and to top it all they serve Indian/Nepali momos.
Great food and staff. Menu is amazing with lots of different flavour. Definitely recommend.
Lovely Indo Nepalese cusine.Great location.
Ordered the mix vege dish. It tasted awful. Had it swapped out with the bombay portato curry. Even that was unpleasant. Unsure what I ingredients the chefs are using but it isnt authentic Indian good. Will not be going back.
Fantastic food for both vegetarians and meat eaters.Attensive service and very reason ably priced. Would recommend highly.
Service needs improvement but quality and taste of the food good.
Dal makhni here is my favourite. Very good food. Thankyou
Great spot for family dinners and parties.Great authentic food nice friendly service.
Amazing food with calm chilled out atmosphere. Lady owner is always waking the floor and greets everyone with awesome smile and a quick chat. The food and drinks are as good as can be expected. You never feel as though you are rushed.. and just feels like home from home !! Nice place...
Butter chicken was too sweet (for me, tasted like it had added sugar). Chicken biryani tasted like old chicken fried rice. Lamb Karahi was over cooked, I had to bin it. The only thing decent tonight was Tesco’s 40p pitta breads. This food deserves a 1.5. After a long day at work, spending £26 on takeaway only to throw away has really spoiled the evening which I had hoped to enjoy with a reasonable meal.
Started to go here again after a while. Nice homely place with minimum of fuss. Food is good and served piping hot. Decent selection of draught beers. Owner is friendly and does her best to accomodate any requests. If you want a good meal at local place this is where to go.
Average Indian Food, All chicken starters were a little too bland, needs more flavour/spice to them. All Vegetarian Straters we tried were decent, Paneer, Mushroom... Bar has a good selection of alcohol.
Absolutely great place! Spacious, clean, bright and staff are lovely. Food is of good portion sizes, reasonable prices and taste amazing. Well worth visiting!!
Great low-key restaurant. The food is always delicious and the staff are extremely attentive. A perfect place to dine on those nights where you don’t want to be in an intimidating environment and all you are after is a casual curry and drink. The food is extremely competitively priced and I guarantee you that you will not find a better equilibrium of price, quality and quantity
Amazing food and staff... The momos were delicious! I had takeaway but I will definitely be back to dine in with my family :)
Fantastic food 😋 my husband and I used to come here often when we lived in Harrow but today we came despite living an hour away and it was totally worth it! Delicious food, good variety and clean place. Highly recommended.
Busy restaurant with friendly staff serving tasty food. Probably understaffed as service is slow & the lamb nawabi starter was definitely undercooked.Toilets 🚻 need to be kept clean as the evening progresses.
Very unassuming but by far the best Indian restaurant in the area. Love the food and practically all dishes are made to perfection. Good portions as well. Simple and approachable owners.
Saras is one of those rare “Indian” restaurants where the food actually is not anglicised and tickles your taste buds with the perfect blend of Indian spices in every bite.Their Desi Chicken curry and Desi Lamb Curry are simply outstanding and are always on my list of items I order. If good Indian food is what you’re looking for , this is the place to be at.
My Favourite Indian restaurant in Harrow. Foods are consistent. I was fade up with other restaurants as every other order they dont taste same. Five star for delicious food and consistent taste.
Saras has become our number one restuarant to go to since we came across it by chance years ago. We always enjoy their friendly service and most importantly their authentic vegetarian Nepalese food. Their prices are reasonable and portions are of a good size. it has been one of the positives during the lockdown. Saraswati, Manoj and their staff are always accomodating to our requests.
We always enjoy ordering food from Saras Restaurant. Food is always of high quality and also the service is very good. We have tried a variety of dishes from Saras and the taste is always delicious. We look forward to ordering again soon.
Saras is the best-kept secret in Harrow - I must have eaten in or taken out a dozen times and the food and service have been unfailingly excellent. The cuisine is authentic Nepalese/Indian. All the staff are absolutely charming. I cant recommend it highly enough
Had the tandoori thighs and lamb kebabs as starters. Both were cooked perfectly and tasted good. Also had a lamb Rogan Josh which had plenty of meat.Took a long time to get our food but this was probably due to the eat out scheme being so popular.
We are regular takeout customers and our usual is the lamb biryani medium for my girlfriend, hot chicken biryani for me and curries will be lamb rogan josh and egg curry! We tried a lot of other Indian places before but we love the biryani here. Service is great too. We call in the order and pick it up ourselves. Highly recommend them.
We have been ordering food from Saras for a couple of years now. We always enjoy the delicious food and its always prepared to a high quality. The customer service is also great and they always ensure food is prepared to how we like it. We are already looking forward to our next Saras food delivery :)
The restaurant itself is clean and the food was excellent. The service was on the poor side. Slow and disjointed at times. Didnt ask if we wanted water, took our knives and forks after the starters but then gave us a spoon each to eat our mains with. The football was on when we came in but didnt switch to some sort of ambient music afterwards. Overall the staff were lovely and friendly but didnt seem to have defined roles.Would go back just for the food though!Recommend
Disappointed during our last visit two weeks ago. Lamb samosas turned up at the table as vegetable samosas and told they will only charge us half price for them as they had run out of lamb samosas was simply irritating.Lamb madras was too thick and tasteless and the dhal was oily. Totally different restaurant to what it was 6 months ago when I ordered a takeaway which was superb.
Yet again weve had an absolutely beautiful night of dining in Saras. The food is so fresh you know its made to order and not premade. The flavour is always consistently good. Its a really nice friendly family run business and Sara is the friendliest host you could have. Its our favourite by far. Please do visit as you wont be disappointed. The mogo and dry chilli lamb are an absolute favourite too.
First time last weekend, went in a group of 6. Accommodated us last minute, and they were very busy! I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of food and tasty flavour. Friendly young waiter helped us choose and was apologetic when we had to wait a little for our beer (keg had run out). I will surely return - try it, you wont be disappointed.
Very nice and clean restaurant good atmosphere, ideal for big group party. Food and service was excellent, food was not very spicy but very tasty. Good thing is the owner will continually be very attentive with the diners .Well done.Definitely going backHighly recommend this place
Two trips in four days and I was not disappointed. The food is delicious. Some reminiscence of the good old Indian Chinese with the fabulous egg or chicken fried rice and veg manchurian.
i have visited this place with bit of hesitation as i wasnt very sure of their food, a friend recommended me to try this. i went and tried. i really liked it.they are not very expensive or not very cheap when compared to other restaurants such as 100 degrees in harrow. the menu was good, serving was good, overall i was happy.so what i have done is i have organised a small get together for my daugthers 1st birthday (a group of around 20 to 25and it turned out to be a very satisfactory event. It didnt cost me hell lot. all my guests were very happy. i would strongly recommend this place if you are around harrow. i am a vegetarian so i really cant comment about Non veg items but i am happy with whatever options i tried.the best part was the owner, the lady is very welcoming, staff are very nice and they take care of you very well. Go for it!!
Loved atmosphere! Must try lasoonli prawns. You must go, I would come here again! Nicest hostess lady
Awesome food, very friendly staff and good value for money. The restaurant is clean and tidy. Highly recommended.
Great Indian food. Nepali and Indian chef. Absolutely wonderful vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. If you are looking for proper north Indian food mist visit them at North Harrow.
Really enjoyed the food! Excellent service! I just seen the reviews and decided to give it a try along with friends and we really loved it. I had also read few bad reviews which made me have second thoughts but after going there and getting the service and tasting the food I was thinking how have some people got bad experience in the place. Definitely should give a try.
Visited on Mothers day with some family.Speaking to Sara herself on the phone, she is extremely accommodating. I had to rearrange the booking a touch and she was pleasant throughout. We were also significantly late due to factors outside our control, she could have quite rightly given out table away.Staff are excellent, very attentive, courteous and welcoming. Theres clearly a focus on hiring the right people and training.Food is very tasty, the menu is indian with Nepalese hints. This brought a uniqueness and something different from the other numerous indian restaurants around. Everything was well cooked and tasted fantastic.Couldnt have enjoyed it more.
