Sarangi Vegetarian Restaurant - Vegetarian restaurant in Kathmandu, Nepal
Very Tasty veg fried rice
I look more or less fine, but. They brought us food in dirty plates, i.e. on the back side there was a dried-up food. Then the officiant wiped the same plate, not replaced, not remembered, but wiped. Then the food itself, although it looks good, but the taste is very poor. The taste is not good and is not made perfectly well.I do not recommend this place for a visit
Simple yet Good restaurant with pure Vegan menu and they too play Sarangi while you dine.
Food is good but Expensive.
So delicious! The staff was great, the rooftop vibes were cool, and the food was really good. The veg samosas were very tasty
Wonderful vegetarian/vegan food! Plenty of options at an amazing price. It is tucked away in an alley in Thamel so it is nice and quiet. Friendly and kind staff. Highly recommend.
The food was just awesome.
Sarangi, vegan-veg testaurant in thamel khatmandu. I had rice and tofu, humus, avocado salad and papaya smoodi. Was great and exactly what i nedded for dinner. They are waiting for you to come and joy the food and atmosphere. 5 star!
This place has something special about it. From the moment I stepped in, I felt the stress and worry seamlessly slipping away from my mind. The staff were very pleasant & acommodating. The atmosphere is cozy & the view from the terrace was beautiful. It even smelled beautiful from the plentiful flowers in the surroundings. Being there made me happy & I didnt want to leave. The food was decent. Perhaps a bit mild but that didnt bother me. It sure smelled good! I didnt want to leave. - reviewed by my beautiful other half.
Very peaceful and friendly staff. Can choose from myriad of options. A must go place if you are looking for fresh and delicious vegetarian food. Waiter is watchful and shows concern about the likings and taste of the food for their guests.
A good vegetarian restaurant in town. The interiors are cool too. The prices are competitive too.
Sarangi vegetarian restaurant was a blessing on our trip to Nepal. Theres hardly a pure vegetarian place that serves authentic vegetarian Nepalese food. The place is small, elegant and cosy. We ordered traditional dal bhat that was served with roasted spinach, curd, mix veg sabzi and homemade pickle. It was quite good, it was simple and homely. Food is great here!
So delicious! Heaps of options, (mex beans nachos are amazingand the rooftop terrace is gorgeous. Fabulous staff, always in for a treat! Nice and quiet just off the main strip 😊
I had tofu scramble here which wasn’t particularly nice and I found 2 long black hairs in it (so did my friendCoffee wasn’t good either. The Mexican bean and avo breakfast looked pretty nice and I heard the nachos were too!
Absolutely fantastic food! Great selection and lovely staff. Prices are very reasonable for the area.
One of the only vegetarian restaurant in Thamel. Food is gud, staff is superb and location is also gud.Only issue is that they also serve egg, but as they informed that they use separate pan for that.Must try for vegetarians and vegans
Its pure veg restaurant situated in thamel, Kathmandu. They have good comfortable sitting arrangement on floor which gives different feel from regular chair table thing. They also serve drinks as most of other restraunt do in Nepal. Food taste and quality was good.
Just had appetizers and tea. They were decent and satisfying.
Food is ok. Not too tasty. Hotel Interiors are good. Something is better than nothing. They could improve the quality of food as well.
Good food. Especially if u r looking for north Indian food in Kathmandu. This restaurant is on roof top.
(unnecessarily over pricedWe went in the morning, asked for a soy cappuccino, they said was not available any nut milk. they came back saying they had a little almond milk left so i accepted. my friend also oredered the same. i ordered some roasted veg sandwich and ive been told they just have pita brad instead of baguette. fine. they brought 1 cappuccino with almond milk and was very bad, all crumbled inside and looked old. they came back saying to my friend, actually we have just cow milk cause almond milk is not good anymore, so he took that one and was good to him. i got my sandwich and it was nice taste (hummus and eggplant which was not what i ordered but its fine). some time later two girls ordered sandwich and baguette was brought to them instead of the small pita. ended up paying 265 rupies for a really bad cappuccino with an almond milk that was just off and 460 for this piece of pita stuffed (which i enjoyed at least). long story short, if it was me i wouldnt had make us pay for the cappuccino since was bad. i think it use to be a great place but the understanding of certain concepts is just too far from a nepali vision.
This place could be better. Food was great, but cushions and rugs were not so clean. A few local guys (staff?were sleeping on the sofa with barefoot.
A very nice place with an amazing ambience. The food is so good that I went to the same place 3 times in my 2 days stay. I would highly recommend this place.
Firstly, the food was OK.Secondly, left a lighter upstairs which was stolen by the staff. We werw the only people in the restaurant, so it was clearly the staff members sitting upstairs in the smoking area.Third, staff tried to sell a CD whilst we were eating dinner. We declined three times, continuously pushed it.
Take an opportunity to support a community project by eating at Sarangi, part of their profits go to helping vulnerable villages in Nepal. I just googled vegetarian restaurants in thamel and I am very happy I picked this one! The food was fantastic, I had a vegan Byriani. It was super fresh and the tofu was nice and crispy while still soft inside. The servers were fantastic too, so friendly.
Don’t miss this one! We ate there twice and we are very happy. Amazing vegan food- best tofu crumble I’ve ever had! friendly and helpful staff, nice atmosphere :)
Amazing food! During our time in Nepal, we ate here several times. Friendly staff and nice roof terrace.
The food was pretty good, cant say I loved it. Nice space though and friendly staff.
Great food, but not the cheapest one. If you go there, then you should go on the roof, because the atmosphere there is worth it.
Great food. Not the cheapest but they put the final price on the menu. So many add 23% to the total.
Friendly staff, beautiful rooftop terrace, Nepali and western dishes. The restaurant is a social enterprise and profits assist the Gandharba people - check it out!
Food was bad. The crowd that was there seemed shady. And I need to state this again the food was bad. If you are a fan of Indian food avoid this place. If you are looking to try out Indian food Id suggest some other place
Vegans gather around. This is where you will be looked after, appeased and well catered for. The owners and staff fully understand the meaning of vegan ethics. A pure vegetarian restaurant where no meat is served. The vegan selection on offer is both plentiful and varied. We chose the homemade pita bread filled to the brim with falafel and delicious fresh veggies. The vegan version of the local classic Dhal Bhatt was phenomenal. Congratulations to one and all involved in this very ambitious and visionary project.
I have dined here a number of times recently and am always pleased with the quality and taste of the food as well as the pleasant service. My current favorites are the Nachos and the Falafel. The choice of dips with house made pita are also amazing, as are the mushroom or spinach croquettes, and the mossaka. Pretty sure you (or Iwould be equally happy with any dish you choose!
Great food and service. Had the Nachos, Samosas, and Hummas/Pita. My wife and I are from USA and are carfule what we eat to not get sick.
An excellent vegan/vegetarian restaurant. Great and pleasant atmosphere! Nourishing and tasty that suits every pocket
A vegetarian restaurant with bohemian vibes accompanied by a large menu with diverse cuisines (heavy on the Mediterranean selection). Nice plant-based milk alternatives for the beverages on the list (hot chocolate, smoothies, etc.). There is a comfy semi-outdoors terrace section that is lined with an array of cushions and beanbags to sit on while eating your meal. They host move nights as well! The dish sizes lean on the smaller side, so pick a few or more to share. The owner is very kind, and the establishment has other ventures that support sustainability, good health, and the environment.
It‘s really a great place! A little hideaway in Thamel...the food tasted really good and you can say how spicy you like it. The rooftop is really amazing! The grow own salad and herbs. Maybe it‘s a little bit more expensive than other places but have in mind they support social projects.
Food was average for me. My portion was quite small, but my friends got reasonable portions. Prices higher than in other places weve been to in Kathmandu. Also, in the bill they added 10-20 rupees to half of the dishes prices, which summed up to a total of 200 rupees. When we told them about it they corrected the prices. So, check your bill. Would not recommend.
Best meal in kathmandu thus far. Calm, friendly atmosphere with a super tasty menu! Expect to pay slighlty more than a local nepalese restaurant and dont be surprised by the slightly smaller portion sizes. We will be back.
Loveliest most delicious restaurant. Great atmosphere. Went every day of my visit here actually :)
It is a hidden place in Thamel, and it definitely worth to try it ! Try it and you will adopt it.The food is good, the staff is super nice, the place is really quiet and the roof top is peaceful.Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, have your breakfast there, and you will get a free yoga class! In the evenings, there is also live music! And the good news, is that all the money that you spend in the restaurant will help out an ONG. So why not eat good food and make a good action at the same time !
Great atmosphere and delicious food. I cant believe we didnt come here earlier. We struggled to find vegan food around town, even with "vegan" listed on the menu, meals often contained dairy or egg. Not Sarangi. Sarangi was helpful right from the start. Topped off by the relaxed rooftop, away from the hustle and bustle of the streets.
Good value for money, many veggies options ! I recommand this place in Thamel
Great food, friendly and great prices, will be back.Love the roof top
Pretty impressive food. Laid back setup with a roof top area. Good service that is friendly. The ginger mint honey lemonade was awesome and the farmers plate was exactly what I was in the mood for. I dont give 5 stars much but this place beat my expectations by a ton. Best meal Ive had in Kathmandu so far
It was the first place I ate at after arriving in Kathmandu (based on a good review). It was relaxing, the staff were friendly & the food was good. It made me feel at ease amongst the chaos of Kathmandu.
Very chill place with delicious vegan food and lovely staff. It felt so good to spend the morning here, thank you!
Very tasty food, I just wish there was more of it! Friendly staff who were eager to please, lovely seating arrangement and traditional live music.
Great restaurant, Amazing food, awesome people!! Loved the whole ambience! Adding up to that they have movie that screens! Just perfect!
