Sarajevo Abandoned Bobsled Track - Tourist attraction in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Beautiful abandoned place, part of Trebević and cabke car experience... I highly recommend visiting
Awesome place to visit while in Sarajevo. Cable car brings you there in 10mins fron city center. You have numeruos walking paths including ruined bob track with nice graffiti.
You can leave your bobsleigh at home for this one bit of a bummer in a way but its still a neat place
Sarajevo Olympic Park is worth visiting. You can take a lift to the top and its a short walk down to this track. You cant drive to this park, roads are very narrow and not easy to navigate. Walking to this park is best way.
Such a cool walk down the bobsled track. We walked back down to Sarajevo, but it might have been better to walk back up the track and have paid for the round trip on the cable car as my wifes knees hurt for a few days walking downhill - sometimes quite steep - for a few kilometres, plus the roadway was being worked on and we ended up with very muddy shoes.
Nice
Be warned, google maps took us the long way from centar thru rally roads and narrow suburban streets. But it was well worth it and hubby being the urban photographer took alot of great photos. Excuse my novice skills!
Nobody else in the mornings — super eerie and beautiful.
You should definitely take the cable car up the mountain to check out this impressive „lost place“. Highly recommended for everyone’s Sarajevo visit.
Excellent walking, biking driving area. Good place for picnic.
We decided to walk all the way up, it took us around 1,5 hours. Its not the easiest walk though! The views were amazing and the track was really cool too.
INCREDIBLY ATMOSPHERIC PLACE IN A PRETTY LOACATION WITH NICE VIEWS. A MUST DO ON YOUR CISIT TO SARAJEVO.
We went during a cloudy day. Mystical atmosphere during foggy/rainy consitions. Loved the abandoned vibe!
Definitely worth a visit. Impressive structures that can be easily combined with cable car!
Definitely worth a wander and the cable car fare
Its an old bobsled track from the Olympics. Now its abandoned but you can still visit the track. Its not worth it to specially see it, but a combination with the abandoned snipershouse its a good go. If youre by car google gps whill navigate you to the abandoned sled, but in fact you cant drive further than a certain point. You have to walk a steep path the last 800 metre. The roads are loose stones and very narrow. At some point 2 cars cannot pass.
Good walking paths along the tracks, and walking on the tracks was also possible. A must when visiting Sarajevo
Nice walk from the cable car
Fun to walk around!
Fun place to visit..needs bathrooms and attendees with the amount of tourists going
Abandoned and still nice to walk along the bobsleds
Very interesting. You can walk in a tube while you are surrounded by the forest. It is worth to visit.
A cool remnant from the 1984 Sarajevo Olympics located in the hills above the city. You can actually take a cable car up to the mountain and then its only a few hundred meters. You can still walk the entire abandoned bobsled track, take pictures and just enjoyMore on my YouTube channel Lex Universe :)
this is my personal go-to for photos and walks. the overall ambient, and colours spread through the whole way is really cool, and sets a happy vibe. i come there often and it is a ten out of ten visit! would definetly recommend visiting.
The is such a a sadness to this beauty. Very nostalgic. Brings back many memories. Gorgeous location above Sarajevo
Caught the cable car up and down on a nice day. Very cool to see the abandoned bobsled track. Definitely worth a visit.
Cool Runnings all the way down the track. Enjoy the peace and quiet of nature, although it’s a long way back up!
Back in the old Yugoslavia days, Bosnia used to be actually something important since they were open to the West. So by going up to Trevic, one can see all those nice places used during the Olympics. Nowadays though, there are trees everywhere in the place, but still looks sick for photos.
Loved it, can walk along the run in the forest.
Takes us back to 1984, Abandoned bobsled track. Can walk all the way down through the track
Not to miss when on Sarajevo. An easy approach to urbex and realy nice place to see. 100% recommended
Very sad relic of the 84 Olympics, well worth seeing. We went up with the cable car and then first walked down the bobsleigh run. From the destination point, a pleasant hiking trail leads back into the city.
Definitely a place you should visit in Sarajevo.
20km for round trip ticket. Short hike down to track.
Sarajevo Olympic Luge Track, Bosnia and HerzegovinaThere’s something about a place once dedicated to adrenaline and excitement falling into disrepair that piques the imagination. The Sarajevo Olympic Bobsleigh Track on Mount Trebevic was once the pride of the 1984 Winter Olympics. It was, however, severely damaged during the Bosnian war in the 1990s. The track is currently undergoing renovations with the aim of becoming usable once again.
Really Cool Place 👍🏻 Please visit🏆
Proud and sad in the same time. Great memories, great country. Viva la Yugoslavia
Amazing place to visit in Sarajevo, please do not hesitate to go there. If you have a mountain bike try to through the bobsled because you will enjoy it so much
Definitely if you are interested in abandoned places full of history, this is a place you need to know.
It is sad that this is abandoned because it is very interesting to walk on parts of it. It would be nice at least to have some information on the spot about the sled
Beautiful place to visit. Some sights and good for a walk.
Amazing historical hotspot located at Mt. Trebevic with many tourists and paths to the Cable car!!Recommended!!!
It is a true that bobsled track is demolish during a war, but it is necessary to look all area, together with near environment of mountain Trebević. Together with track, there is very nice mountain path. Also there are few nice mountain restorans with very good food and very ceptible prices. In the future, there is possibility for reconstruction of track, together with Barcelona, if Barcelona obtain winter olimpic games.
Really worth the price of the cable car.
Enjoyed exploring the old track, seeing graffiti, and beautiful nature surrounding this piece of history
Gorgeous scenery along the long walk up from town. Checking out the abandoned observation point near the end of the bobsled track is a must
Well worth the visit, make sure and walk the track
A must visit spot if you’re Sarajevo- super cool to see and walk on.
Take the cable car up and walk the old bobsled track. A great experience. Also note that this was used in the war. You can see some holes made in the track for snipers and some bunkers. And also stay on the track, there might not be many warnings, but we know there are still mines.
I love the Olympics and try to visit old Olympic sites whenever possible. I usually find it kind of sad when a stadium etc has been left to ruin but this is the exception to the rule. Its a grafitti artist dream and there is something kind of cool walking all the way down the track. Id really recommend visiting here if you are in anyway interested.
