Sapporo japanese sushi restaurant in El Dorado

The only place in Wichita that has great sushi! Fair prices, meets great quality that can be achieved locally. Their dumplings are really good as well.

Not sure if it was an off day but the sushi was mid and gave my whole family stomach issues after we ate here. Might just stick to ninza or wasabi if I’m being honest.

My wife and I decided to visit this restaurant for her birthday Saturday night. We were not disappointed! Prices were fair, portion sizes were excellent, and service was great. We will be back!

Very nice place, didnt expect that from the outside. Sushi was top notch. Soup and salad were very good. The fried rice has a unique and delicious flavor. The chirashi was perfect if you like sashimi.

WOW! Great place. One of the only place that have Otoro (fatty tuna)…so good melts in your mouth. I had the Red Thai Curry. One of the best curry dishes Ive ever had. Gyoza for the appetizers were excellent. Bento boxes are great for lunch. Chicken is very tender.

Amazing sushi and personalized service. They take the time to make your meal feel like youre the only customer there. Very nice staff

Moms birthday we went here to eat and I have got to say the service from our waitress was superb just like the food. Sushi was delicious, fried rice was to die for and over presentation of the dishes you can see attached pictures below. This is my new sushi joint.

I ate there today for lunch and had their sushi sashimi combo with Blue fin tuna. It was suberb if not better. This restaurant is top not, and the owner is so nice and is so attentive to us.

First time trying this restaurant. Ordered the Goyza and King Roll. The Goyza was the the perfect combination of soft and crispy.The King Lobster was THE BEST flavor wise and very big. I immediately ordered a second order of both to take home to my daughter.

Nice little restaurant, friendly service, fresh fish. The tuna and salmon were great on the day we visited, the yellowtail wasnt great though. Best red curry Ive had in Wichita. Unless youre ordering a bottle of sake, skip the alcohol. Good experience overall.

I dont know how they get such tasty fish in the middle of Kansas, but they do it somehow. Very good little sushi place with a mix of more classic nigiri and maki rolls as well as the more modern fancy rolls if you want those too. The kitchen items all look good when I see them pass by, but I only ever get the sushi so I dont know for sure.

Amazing food! First time here! Tried sushi for the first time and loved it! Drinks are amazing! And I’ll make the drive front cheney lake just for those cosmos and lemon drop martinis!!!

You definitely pay for what you get and get what you pay for. Great service, amazing food, and decent portions. They use high quality ingredients including the fish. Absolutely recommend the Thai iced tea and tofu curry. Sushi is excellent in general. For those wondering how an inland restaurant can have good sushi: they are definitely purchasing sushi quality cuts of fresh flash frozen fish and treating them well. There is pretty much no difference since it preserves the freshness perfectly.As with any place serving fish, busy is a good thing and these guys were packed Saturday night.

My husband and I saw another review and decided to try it. When I tell you its the best sushi we have had I am not kidding. Not just the sushi but the appetizers and lunch bento box was amazing!

First time eating here. The atmosphere is very classy and is reflected upon the food presentation. Service is fast and friendly. The food is fresh and prepared to the customers liking. I ordered the sashimi dinner and was super impressed with the variety of fish. I ordered a glass of the plumb wine and was not disappointed. The crab rangoon are some of the absolute best Ive eaten in a long time.

This is the best sushi place in town. Its a tucked away little secret. I love the ridiculously thick cut sashimi. They have things here the other sushi restaurants dont have like beef tataki.

When me and my girlfriend first walk into Sapporo our minds just straight Blown away. I cannot express the experience that me and her had in the restaurant. The food is like 5 - 10 Stars tops. There is a bar of fresh seafood display. First thing that really caught our eye was The Love Boat. It had both cooked and raw sushi which was exciting. The soup very refreshing and feels like a cleansing palette. Im obsessed with their curry chicken and their fried rice. My girl loved her gyoza and calamari fried. I went there twice in two weeks. No regrets in fact I wish we can go there 4 times a week or everyday. My girl still reminiscing over her fried ice cream.

I the Bento box lunch. I absolutely love their dressing they in put on their salad. Wish they would sell it in bottles. Their vegetable tempura is delicious. I have never been disappointed in anything I have tried.

Sapporo Japanese Sushi restaurant was a real fine treat for dinner. With the feel of fine dinning but at an affordable price this place was definitely a place to stop if your traveling though the Wichita are and have a craving for good Japanese food or sushi. They had a good selection of food, full bar and the staff was quick, friendly and observing for refills and removing empty plates. The restaurant was busy but not packed. I would highly recommend this place! Coke and Dr. Pepper products.

If you enjoy sushi you have to try this place. It is tucked away in a strip mall style place but it is more like a hidden gem! The food was phenomenal. Got a little bit of everything from apps, to sushi, and a bento box. Wasnt overly expensive for a sushi place either.

Went here based on all the good reviews about how good the food was, I’m sorry but you all must have been smoking crack before you went. Food here was no different from any other sushi place in town. If my skin color was a few shades lighter my experience might have been better. Waited over an hour before we got our food and to top it off our waitress say per their policy she has to charge us the maximum tip because it’s not her fault the kitchen took long. So regardless of how good or terrible your service was they think they can just tack the maximum tip onto your bill. We questioned her about that and she basically tried to justify her tip. Never will I go back. If I was a white person would you have stood there and argue about your tip?

Very good food. Love their fried rice and the kellogg roll and angel roll. They got renovated from the last time we ate their. Love the new update and ambiance.

Mediocre service, maybe due to short staff?Appetizers were good. Sashimi as good as the freshness of the fishes. In this case, as fresh as possible in the middle of nowhere. Looked forward to the Toro, wasn’t wowed, definitely tasted the fattiness but not able to call that a “wagyu of the ocean” experience.Arguably the best sushi place in Wichita, coming from an Asian who grew up in Asia, enjoying sushi and sashimi.

Sushi was beautifully presented and the dumplings were a family favorite!

Got seated pretty much right away.This is a nice place hidden in a junky looking parking lot.Food was delicious, service was average.Not a whole lot of tables, but it seemed like there was maybe only two servers.Staff was helping each other out.I made sure to tip well.Prices are fair.Nice ambiance.Only complaint is that the ratio of space between the back of the bench to the front of the table is huge.Like, if you lean back, you cant eat, and if you lean forward, theres about 3 ft of space behind you.Felt odd.

We were told this is the best Japanese place in Wichita and they werent kidding. Everything we had was perfect and makes us realize what weve already been eating is sub-par.

I ♥️ this place! Always good for a low key meal thats of excellent quality. I had the rainbow roll, spicy edamame and clear soup. Had a small house sake for drinks!

Great food great people great prices... better than Nobu.I’ve been here many times since my initial review and this place just gets better.Just had dinner there again, the food was excellent. They are taking over the space next door so soon to be larger. Still great.

The atmosphere is absolutely wonderful. The music is classy, and the staff are friendly and attentive. We throughly enjoyed our meals, which included the appetizer of Gyoza, a Thanksgiving sushi roll, and the Sushi Dinner set. And also enjoyed a wonderful cup of green tea

Presentation is pretty wonderful, the place is cute, but the organization of their seating was a little lacking. Once we got sat Service was great, but our wait time didnt match with what was said. The sushi itself was good, but a little more americanized choices. Plate presentation was beautiful.

Super friendly staff.We had never been to Sapporo before and decided to give it a try after the owners came into my store and purchased some materials for their residence. They were such a pleasure to deal with. Their restaurant is very clean and well kept. We enjoyed our dinner very much. We will definitely be back for more great sushi.

Omgoodness!! Great food and great service. Took my Dad out for sushi... he ended up getting Teriyaki Chicken and Fried Rice, while I order tons of sushi rolls. It was yummy!! Our waitress was super sweet and attentive. And the food was off the charts. Will be making this a favorite going forward.

Extremely friendly sushi restaurant. Like surprisingly friendly and excellent customer service.They were quick and attentive and the rolls were great: Red Fire Roll, Coconut Shrimp Roll, peachtree roll, Old Town roll, Snow Mountain Roll, Sapporo roll.Edemame was steamed and salted just right.I’d come back here.

Very nice service, nice waitresses, and amazing food and presentation. Food can sometimes be a little slow if they are busy, but for the most part its great overall!

Sushi was great and the rolls were huge! A quieter setting that would be best for date or smaller group. We had 6 people and felt we were too large for the restaurant with how quiet the setting was - we felt like we were roaring over the soft piano music. Service was good and quick. Good variety of food and beer.

By far the best sushi and sashimi Ive had in Wichita! Its a little pricey but well worth it for the generous amount of fish they serve. The staff and service was great and the overall look and cleanliness was also. I will definitely go back again.

Have you ever craved sushi and Thai? Look no further because you can both here. I normally stop here once every couple of months. The sushi itself is good, but not great. I would give it four stars. The owner herself is amazing, and keeps this place going. For the most part, restaurant is always busy when I come not due to poor service, but rather the locals like it. Keep this place in perspective as it is located in Kansas.

I had a great dinner together with my friends at Sapporo. Sushi was delicious and freshly made... there was a big variety to choose from. We got mixed platter of raw and cooked special rolls. Staff was superb, fast, attentive and fun... they were joking with us the whole time :)

Amazing atmosphere, jazz music, fresh ingredients and fantastic prices. The staff are friendly and personable, and the chef is the best in town! The plating pits the art in culinary art. You HAVE to check this place out. They cater, deliver, and makes a great place for date nights. Better than Wasabis HANDS DOWN. Food was so good I forgot to take pictures of it all before it was all eaten!

I have had sushi all over the United States and I just moved to Wichita a few months ago so I have been looking for a place that knows what is going on when it comes to sushi. Well I can now say I found it!!! Try it and you will be so happy you did as well. The roll I will post a photo of is off the menu but just call it the salmon lovers extra and they will know or show them the photo. Enjoy!!!
