Amazing building. I just wish that they’d repair this building. It was sad to see it in such a state of disrepair from the earthquake.

Schöner, sauberer und sehr sicherer Ort. Eine tolle Sicht auf dir Kathedrale und das Museum. Angrenzend ein toller Park mit schöner Flora, ideal zum Abkühlen.

Un edificio con gran valor histórico.Como buen geek, me gustó visitarla para sentirme parte del Criptonomicón.Vale mucho la pena visitarla y disfrutar de la vista y su olor a historia.

This is a beautifully designed cathedral. Apart from being very old, it has a great architecture. Also, this building is surrounded by other nice like the National Palace.

Es un lugar bastante atractivo visualmente, además también continente una gran historia acerca de sus héroes así como una excelente representación de sus edificios a escala de catedrales y demás, quizás falta un poco más en el aspecto juvenil pero por ahora está bien.

La catedral de Managua mejor conocida como la antigua catedral es un lugar al que puedes llegar muy fácilmente ya que está situado en el centro de la ciudad de Managua cerca de la avenida Bolívar y del parque Luis Alfonso Velásquez flores pero el acceso está restringido por el momento ya que no cuenta con las medidas de seguridad necesarias para el ingreso de persona porque es una edificación muy antigua que fue devastada por el terremoto en el año 1972 pero que tiene una vista maravillosa y puede sacar muchas fotografías y disfrutar del paisaje

Its OK to look at from the outside but it is very damaged and you cant go inside. I believe they have not fixed it since it was damaged in the earthquake in the early seventies. I wish they would fix it up and make it look really nice so tourists can see the beauty of the old cathedral in downtown Managua

Al resistir al terremoto del año de 1972, la catedral Santiago de Managua demuestra la divina protección de Dios sobre este lindo país y su pueblo tan acogedor y simpático.Un sitio para visitar, principalmente durante el periodo nocturno, y encantarse con tanta belleza.

Esta Cátedral de estilo neoclasico se empezó a construir en los años 30 y su estructura resistió sin mayores daños el terremoto de 1931 ya para el último terremoto de 1972 la estructura quedó muy golpeada y sus grietas son visible desde cualquier ángulo, su reloj se detuvo justo a la hora de el sismo es una lástima que no esté habilitado el acceso al público y que no se haya hecho aún nada para su rehabilitación y no dejar perder esta joya de la historia de la capital

Exelente lugar para visitar y recordar y recrearse en familia con una vista impresionante de la antigua catedral, el palacio de la cultura, la casa presidencial y el mausoleo de los heroes y martires de la revolucion..

Simbolo de Managua, la capital de Nicaragua, azotada por 2 terremotos, el último de ellos, el del 72, sumado a los saqueos y al abandono de las autoridades la ha dejado casi en ruinas. Sin embargo mantiene su imponencia y es un lugar al que se puede llegar para tomar fotos muy hermosas, sobre todo entre las 5 y las 6 de la tarde. El lugar esta bien resguardado por que no se puede entrar a su nave principal por los daños que tiene y el peligro que esto representa. A pesar de haber guardias de seguridad tener mucho cuidado en ciertas zonas del recinto, sobre todo en la parte de atras; si quiere tomar buenas fotos en un ambiente tranquilo quedese cerca de donde está la gente, si quiere tomar alguna sin gente esta se apartará sin problemas.

Esta bella catedral es uno de los emblemas de la ciudad de Managua. Emplazada frente a la Plaza de la Revolución, está realizada en estilo neoclásico. Su construcción data de 1925. Sufrió los terremotos de 1931, 1972 y 2014, pero su armazón resistió y se mantiene orgullosamente en pié. Es una verdadera obra de arte.

La Catedral Metropolitana de Santiago Apóstol de Managua o simplemente Antigua Catedral de Managua es un edificio de estilo neoclásico, de la ciudad de Managua, capital de Nicaragua que fue dañada por el terremoto del 23 de diciembre de 1972, siendo reparada el 8 de julio de 2014. Su fachada se asemeja a la de la Iglesia de Saint-Sulpice de París, Francia. Great place to learn about the history of Managua.

I used to go in there when I was a kid all alone, I sure miss it..

Old dilapidated church that has not been touched for decades. All restorations have been limited to the outside and surrounding area as church is now to weak from several earthquakes and shellings during the war. More of a symbol of Managua you can see rather than experience. You can only see a glimpse of the inside.

Una hermosa catedral, es increíble ver aún las grietas y los daños del terremoto que ocurrió hace más de 4 décadas

Es verdaderamente un lugar para visitar en Managua, parte de un conjunto arquitectonico del casco urbano de Managua. En sus alrededores están una serie de monumentos históricos y plazas historicas de mucha importancia. Un aspecto negativo es que no se puede ingresar en ella debido a medidas de seguridad.

This is a strange, bizarre, broken down old church. I heard that it never got repaired after the earthquake many years ago, and one of the interesting things is that they repaved it so the stairs jut out of the pavement unevenly. They have security guards guarding it, so you cant just traipse in and walk around. Its great for awesome photos, though.

How eerie to see a huge cathedral like this looking like its about to fall apart. The clocks on top showing time from a generation ago. One touch and the whole thing looks like it could go kaboom. Yet it still stands.

Big old church that looks like it is about to fall apart anytime now. You cant go inside, but it is still worth the walk to see it

Its amazing, we must accept, anyway, that our Nicaragua is getting better every day...slowly...even when we have been far away. I mean, without us.

As if it is not enough that the Cathedral has been abandonded by both socialist and libeal governments and may one day succumb to Mother Nature, it is currently surrounded by pro-government propaganda on its facade despite it beinga witness to some of Managuas most historical events-from revolution to earthquake, if only the walls could speak.
