Rode through got to see would hogs and deer
This is my second visit in 2 years. I really like visiting this site for its natural beauty and the terrific birding. The only reason Im not eating it high is because it appears to have been closed (visitors centerand the trails are starting to look neglected. Even though the visitor center is closed there is a maintained porta potty onsite for guest use. The nature trail near the Indian mounds is fine for the first half but the second half is over grown and the wooden overlook area near the water is missing a board on the walk and looks a little tender overall.
MoreAwesome trails. Much what Congaree NP should have been.
Nice park
Very helpful
it is absolutely beautiful here only issue is the snakes in the summer so just keep an eye out if you go in the hot months
MoreExcept for the Ranger station and welcome house being closed, the trails and area offer a wonderful opportunity to view this natural environment, especially the birds! Flyers available, too...
MoreBury me here. It was really special. I even saw and photographed two Painted Buntings. Fabulous!!!
MoreBluff unit is relatively small in acreage but has a Visitor Center, native plant garden, bird feeders that attract locals such as Painted Bunting, and a nature trail. It has lake frontage with a short trail along the banks. Its location along I95 make for a great place to take a break during a road trip.
MoreA wonderful place to visit for birding - great trails
