Amazing delight in middle of Santa’s village!You can sit in warm tent and see the salmon cooked by the fire. Salmon piece was huge, well seasoned and cooked perfectly (tasty and moist inside). Atmosphere is relaxing with light jazz playing in the background. Definitely worth returning!

Its a great experience to visit this restaurant. Its a snow-covered tent like the one found in childhood fairy tales. A small room made of wood in the shape of a large tent. The handle that holds the door open is a large horn of a Reindeer. Its around -17 this time. So To escape from the bitter cold outside, we quickly went inside ...inside a fire was kindled in the middle of the room. The dining benches and desks are Barely half a foot wide around,. And the seats are Full. However, within five minutes we got a place to sit. Because the coals are piled up in the middle and the sides are covered with a good thick leather typed material, not even a speck of cold can come in and that feels so good.Two beautiful menu cards were carved into wooden boards. One is for food and the other is for drinks. There are only a few items on the food menu.1. fresh grilled salmon, including traditional Finnish salad and bread.2. Laplands traditional cheese is made with cloudberry jam.3. An amazing Scandinavian cheesecake.On the drinks menu, their traditional coffees and local beer. We ordered everything on the food menu, along with beer.As soon as the order was received, the grilling of the salmon fish began. They grill the salmon on the same fire in the middle of the room. As we can see they dont add anything on grilling just to add some smoke that gives its amazing aroma and flavour.We enjoyed the ambience and taste and wish to spend more time. But unfortunately, people are waiting in the queue to get a seat so we moved. I will recommend this as on the must-visit in Lapland.

This restaurant is located in Santa Village. It is quite small and usually their is a waiting line but totally worth to wait even if it is 20 min in -14C 😅. The salmon, cheese and hot drinks will blow your mind. Don’t miss the experience and the taste of their food.

Fabulous quirky place. If you want great salmon go, if you don’t leave it to those who do (it’s a small place).

Maybe the only place that isnt keen on your money in this saintaclause area. Small menu, but honest salmon grilled on an open fire with a nice rendier interior. Friendly service and worth every euro.

Hats off, one of the best salmons I’ve ever had. The creamy hot cheese starter was also delicious. The warm atmosphere with the bonfire, where the salmon was being cooked on in the middle of the hut, completes it all.

Salmon is delicious and the boss is very nice to us after knowing that we come from Taiwan.We had a wonderful dinner and great conversation with the Boss.He is a generous person also the other two workers.Very happy and lucky to walk in this restaurant !!The serving is enough for two person, coffee is belongs to “light roast” and suit for me.

Best Salmon Ever, you gotta have it to believe it. The small tent like place with a center wood fire is just what you need on a cold day. We ordered the Salmon, the Finnish cheese and cloudberry jam starter and scandinavian cheesecake, loved every single thing.

Love the decorations. Love the salmons which were cooked on fire right in front of you. The salad and the cheese snack were delicious. Coffee was a bit light but overall it was an awesome meal!

Salmon was very good! Skin is crispy but the the meat was still tender and moist despite the piece being very thick. Tried the special drink called Glögi and it was nice as well. Had some ginger biscuits to eat while waiting for the salmon to be cooked. So glad that we managed to get a table as the seating area wasnt large.Note: salmon will take a while to cook but it is worth the wait!

Came here without any expectations. Came out quite satisfied! Even though its a rather simple dish, they cooked it to perfection. Salmon was moist and seasoned just enough, tasted great!

Best salmon ever. Says alot coming from someone who doesnt like fish. The whole atmosphere is rustic and on point. The salmon are cooked upon order. Just bear in mind that once the first orders are being cooked, you have to wait for the next batch, which is about 30 minutes later. So dont take your own sweet time.

Santas Salmon Place is just what the name says - its a place inside the Santa Claus Village where you get wood fire roasted sweet with a piece of bread and a dip. The salmon is juicy, fresh and tender. Its definitely worth a try - if you are ok to spend 22 €. Another worth try dish is reindeer cheese with blue berry jam. We loved it but may be you need to acquire a taste for that. Thats for 6 €. You can also get hot water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and some such beverages. The place is warm and cozy. The salmon is cooked right in front of you on the wood fire which also doubles up as the heater. All in all a place worth a visit when in Santa Claus Village.

The restaurant claims that they serve the best salmon youll ever eat and it was indeed an amazing, mouthwatering experience. The salmon is fresh from the close by sea and only seasoned with sea salt, then grilled on a birch wood fire. It remains juicy and tender and is a real delight to eat! Try to peel off your layers when you enter since it will get pretty hot because off the open fire.The restaurant, which is in a wooden lavvu (teepeeis rather small and doesnt take reservations, so you have to be lucky or patient;-). Since the salmon is grilled in batches, you might either get served immediately or have to wait up to 30 minutes. Definitely worth a try!

Great little place with lovely food, not a lot on the menu so only come here if you like salmon. Salmon cooked on open fire to absolute perfection. Staff was friendly enough.

Nice fresh salmon cooked over open fire, which acts also as a fireplace to warm up the hut. Place is quite small, accomodates about 25people so expect to wait for a table, but I would say definitely worth the wait! Main course salmon comes with bread and salad, optional add on drinks or beer. Most definitely recommended!

Salmon was excellent although the skin at the bottom is too burnt to eat. Highly recommend the cheese snack too as it was a lot better than I expected. Loses one star because you have to queue outside in the freezing cold, difficult to get attention of staff and their hospitality feels slightly cold and forced. Also expect to wait at least 30 minutes for the salmon if yours isnt being cooked in the current batch. I was lucky that I ordered it when queuing, since the staff asked us how many pieces we wanted.

OMG this must be the best salmon ive ever had. A cute little tent that serve just 3 items on the menu. The salmon are on the spot grilled over wood fire, super juicy and tender with crispy skin. The finnish cheese was very good too but abit pricey. Had hot berry which taste like ribena hot version.

Its awesome. The salmon is baked to the right temperature as the flesh could come off cleanly. Food was very fresh and thus only lightly marinated with salt. Eating in a tepee and around a fireplace is an authentic tourist experience. We love it so much that we returned for a 2nd time. Highly recommended!

Absolutely delicious. Really nice experience in the little hut with the salmon cooking over a fire. We had the Finnish squeaky cheese, the salmon and some hot berry juice. All was super tasty, but the salmon was the best weve ever had.

The best ever! Very impressive!!!They only have salmon, cheese, and dessert in the menu; and of course beverages are there too...that’s all BUT that’s good enough...more than enough actually!A small place you will definitely never forget.

Whilst the Santa Village will bring you to the real Santa Claus, you will also notice you’re on the artic circle. The 3rd thing to remember is Santa’s Salmon Place. A tiny tipi where they prepare fresh filets of salmon in front of you at the fireplace. Count on 30 min preparation but its worth the waiting. Have glögi to warm up and take the cheese with marmelade to share as a starter. A very unique experience that you will not find again soon. They do take credit cards now (2018).

The salmon is delicious and fresh. It was grilled using traditional lappish teepee with open fire.

Let me explain how this restaurant operated.You come in, have seats, then wait for taking orders. Well, as you can see from the images, they cook the salmon fish fillet on the big stove, batch by batch. Each batch would take about 30 mins. So if the waiter does not come to your table and takes the order, probably because they do not have fish to serve. And you can see it; there is no fish on fire. So please do not get angry and it does have a lot of people waiting for their fish. They cut the fish at another kitchen/place outside the small log cabin and bring back the fish fillet. After seasoned with salt, the fish fillets were put on the grill and then put on the stove. You can have coffee and dessert first while smelling the frying fish (Salmon have a lot of fat). Of course, we were taking the photos. We ordered the coffee, cake, and fish. All tasted good. But my standard was pushed a bit high those days in Finland.

In this restaurant, we had a great time! Very tasty food, and of course salmon - the most delicious of all that we have ever eaten! A wonderful location - in the village of Santas many cafes, but it is next to the post, it is easy to find. A warm and friendly welcome, grilled salmon, interesting atmosphere! Thanks!
