Local guides give you an history that makes you dream. In the site theres a tree with the legend that it was there before the construction of the Palace meaning it is more than 200 years old. The tree is called The Tree of Justice. It is where King Christopher held trials. Very beautiful site. A must see !
This place combined with La Citadelle shows the greatness of Haiti. Definitely a must to visit.
This is a truly stunning place to visit. The sheer size is impressive. I wish this was renovated completely and brought back to life.
I was so excited to visit again "The Sans-Souci Palace" which was built to serve as a residence for the revolutionary leader Henri Christophe, who would become king in 1811, a year into the palace’s construction. The palace was one of many lavish constructions Christophe ordered at that time, including the Citadelle Laferrière. Its located in Milot, Haiti after Haiti (the world’s first independent black republic). #haiti #milot #caphaitien
Very historical..nice view

The beauty of Haiti🥰💙✅
The best experience ever. Learn so much about my culture. Our guide Mr. Jean Jacquelim was extremely knowledgeable , patient and pleasant
Beautiful ruins and deep history. Would like more history signage to explain its importance.
An easy and worthwhile stop after visiting the Citadelle.
Absolutely gorgeous! It is a massive structure with an amazing story. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and very willing to play photographer. Small store at the front for you to pay for the guided tour so its pretty convenient. Have a few tourist traps and people trying to get you to purchase souvenirs but the real treat is visiting!
Beautiful and stately ruined palace in Milot. Make sure you spend some time here on the way back from the Citadel!
This is a legendary monument at Milot, on the road toward the Citadelle Laferrière. The ruins are very gigantic, titanic and.. ouh. When you see that, youll see how big we human think if men with archaic tools can do that in 19th century. So now, we should be conscious that we must almost limitless, we can break the boundaries in our mind.Unfortunately, earthquakes have gone with some part, even though, legend never dies, This Palace is still memorable and incredible.
Great site. A gem. A must-visit if youre in CAP.
So much history here...Amazing Views
Its a historical place in Haiti. When you visit it, you are going to learn so much about the Kingdom of Henry Christophe.

A mind blowing historic site ! The ruins make the imagination reconstruct how luxe of a palace this must have been. The greenery surrounds you and the courts are so vast! The tree of justice still stands although held by cables but just a magnificent place
Historical site very interesting, Milo Haiti near Cap Haitian, Nord
Beautiful. Lot of history in this place !
Great experience, rich in history, and breathtaking views.
Amazing!
This place is part of the Haitian pride. King Henry was a visionary. Thanks to his greatness we were able until now to appreciate and admire his work.
Its a wonder and a perfect place for a wedding
Unbelievable structure and history. Must ride up on horseback. Wear covered sensible shoes and long pants so your skin isnt directly on horses fur.
This is such a beautiful place! I wish I had more time to spend here as we were in a bit of a hurry to get back before sundown. Take your time and get to know the history behind it! This palace truely is an island gem!
The Sans-Souci Palace is a palace in Haiti in the town of Milot, Nord, located approximately 5 kilometres (3.1 minortheast of the Citadelle Laferrière, and 13 kilometres (8.1 misouthwest of the Three Bays Protected Area.It was the royal residence of King Henri I (better known as Henri Christopheof Haiti, Queen Marie-Louise and their two daughters. It was the most important of nine palaces built by the king, as well as fifteen châteaux, numerous forts, and sprawling summer homes on his twenty plantations.[1]Construction of the palace started in 1810 and was completed in 1813. Its name translated from French means "carefree". The nearest airport and large city is Cap-Haïtien.
I really like this plcae, ruins and the feeling like you are in the long time ago past when you stay here, its quite amazing.Me encanta este lugar porque muy antiguo y bello.
Ruins of the Haitian royal Palace. King Christophe was a visionary. The view is stunning. Henry Christoph: King in the North@
Really cool ruins of the palace built by Henri Christophe. Makes a really good complement to the trip up the mountain to see the Citadel.
A palace built for Haitian royalty. You can only imagine its original splendor. Definitely a must see.
Beautiful monument , ruins can tell how majestic this palace was. Too bad they dont do more to renovate
Loved loved loved being here. Once we had a chance to eat the welcome we received, the presentation of the Food, the explanation of the area with the history was positively like none I have ever had. This is a definite place to stop in when in this part of Haiti!❤❤❤
As far as ruins go these are pretty nice. Not many people around and you can take some awesome shots of the cathedral next door.
Definitely worthwhile to visit. $10 admission per adult including a guide in English. Very important part of the history of Haitian independence.
[ A ] As I explored the magnificent ruin of the Sans-Souci palace I can clearly see why it was once considered the Versailles of the Carribean. Constructed from 1807 to 1813, Sans-Souci was the home of King Henri Christophe I of Haiti. Christophe was a former slave who became a key leader in the 1804 Haitian Revolution. The palace was built on top of a French plantation by thousands of slaves. An earthquake in 1842 severely damaged the palace, but whats left of the ruins still give you a sense of its former glory.
Great historical place! Good piece of Haïtien history! Lots of certified guides. Make sure you stick to the initial price you negotiated before your visit. My guide asked for 5 times more arguing that he gave me much more information... There was a lot of students ! Read about it online about it, its useful!
Such rich history is attached to this place! You HAVE to make sure to get a local to tell you those tales. And it is beautiful.
