Sans Rival Bistro in Dumaguete

I travel 1 hr from Tanjay City to Dumaguete,just to try the silavanas here and im very satisfied food are all delicious 😍 and this place is very accessible the ceres bus is passing here. Its near in Boulevard the we could relax and enjoy the seaside.

Outside seating is nice, food is average. They charge 50p for charging phones without telling beforehand. Ridiculous.

Seriously below par quality, for a supposedly best cake shop in Dumaguete. How people continue to support this joint is beyond beliefSo close to everything, yet fails to deliver that want to come back feeling.

Nice place with good food and pleasant outside sitting with sea view.Only issue is all the beggars walking around and asking for money.

Sylvanas still most sought after. But do try the other food too! So delish! Just hafta buy lots for fams and friends in Manila 🥰

I visited this refreshment parlor. You can oder hot native chocolates. All kinds if coffee with delicious cakes and bread. Nice place

Their food is so good! And their Sans Rival has always been my favorite. Should be on your list if you ever visit Dumaguete.

The restaurant was full packed at lunch time. Selections were prepared for about 15-20 mins, mostly available. In case of a hungry tummy, theres their bakery on the side. Mind u, theres a queue on that part too. Widely popular, its one of the go to when u arrive at the boulevard.

The food was delicious, however some improvements could be made to the service. We dined as a group of nine ordering starters, mains and desserts. Strangely the team served the desserts with the starters making it very difficult to find space on the table for the mains. This made the experience cumbersome. The other problem is that it is not particularly family friendly with no high chairs available at all, which is something even fast food restaurants can provide.

The pastry shop and the bistro on the Dumaguete boulevard we tried on more than a few occasions. Also, eat in and take out from Sans Rival bistro, Robinson Plaza. Both locations are good for lunch or dinner.The front bar on the terrace (blvdis also a great place for a few drinks in the evening.This locally owned restaurant chain is one of the few food and beverage outlets that is truly consistent in the service and also the dishes consumed on the premises. Its also one of the few restaurants that treat take out food with some care so that everything doesnt end up a mash up mess when its opened for consumption.There are a huge selection of photos provided by the restaurant and other reviewers on maps to see the high standard of food if its your first time visiting.Sans Rival is quite possibly Unrivaled. 😀

Small space but good food!

They had plenty of food choices, but we only tried their local delicacies Sansrival and silvanas. The price was just right. :)

My wife and I suffered food poisoning after eating here two days ago. This was likely caused by consuming contaminated tuna in the Caesar salad. The taste was off and we should have sent it back. Spending two days hunched over the toilet was no fun. Dine with caution!

One of the best cakes and pastries here in Dumaguete city and my familys all time favorite! Their SILVANAS is a must try. 😍 You might like their signature burger too and polvoron .

I have a nasty experience with them. It was a particularly busy evening and I asked for a table for 1. The waiter said that the only table they have was on the bar table itself. All the used dishes were placed there beside me. Very unsightly. I ordered and they eventually placed me to another table beside the bar. I ordered kebab and it was really salty, and I said to a waiter to add a slice of sansrival and serve it after 10 minutes. After 10 minutes I ask the same waiter to serve it but he never came back. When I asked for the bill to be paid, another waiter came to give me the sans rival slice and I told him to return it and void the order because I lost my appetite for it. I have to commend the bartender for making me feel conformable despite the situation. I was really dismayed and disappointed by the service.> When you ask the staff where to reserve a table, they just gave me the cold shoulder. I have to ask around myself. I dont know kung dahil ba mag-isa lang ako kaya ganon or in general na ganun ang service nila.> The staff seemed over worked. They do not even smile or great the costumers.

Place gets packed during the weekends, make sure to get reservation. Must visit when in dumaguete. Food is great. Silvannas and Sans Rival is as always yummy so as the other food they serve, I liked the malasugue I ordered. The salmon my partner got also taste good.. The staff are also very accomodating. Highly recommended place..

We always love Sans Rival. Our favorite is the yema cake. Pardon for my picture. They already ate and I forgot to capture a photo of it.

This is the best restaurant in Dumaguete. The food is fresh and very yummy!m for a very reasonable price. Now i know why dumagueños are so proud of this place. when you go in the restaurant, you will see bunch of foreigners because its really the best place in town. keep it up!

What a beautiful and anazing restaurant catering to the general public in Dumaguete City. They lots of customer both the Bake Shop and Sans Rival Restaurant. The food we ate were delicious. All their personnel from Security guard to sales staff, cashiers were amazing, very courteous and smart.

Food is always amazing here. Service is a hit and miss at times. The one waiter is pretty bad. He Forgets drinks and has to be reminded more then once. Ill be back to see how he is doing. May bump it up to 5 stars. The deserts are also amazing. Dont let one bad staff ruin it for you. We all have to start at the bottom. Time will tell if he gets better or not.

Meals are good. Price is right. Desserts are really good especially their silvanas. A must try in dumaguete.

It was my first visit here today, I arrived just after 4pm and managed to get a table but within a short space of time the place quickly filled up. I ordered a ham and cheese-melt croissant and a spanish potato-salad side-dish (potatoes, carrots, beet and chicken), both dishes were excellent. Service was very good. There is a choice of seating available, a/c inside or outdoor at the front. There was a good choice of cakes and pastries available though I didnt try any today, but I will on my next visit!

I always like sans rival silvanas because of its chewy and cashew-filled meringue . Good thing to know that there is one store that sells sans rival products in our place. But the one and only silvanas I bought was far from my expectations. I can’t taste the cashew-meringue wafers, not even chewy or crunchy. I wish Sans rival have time to monitor all the resellers since storage, shipping and others may affect the quality of the product. Well, that was not case of the sans rival cake though.

It was our first time trying out the restaurant. The food was delicious but it took them more than an hour to serve. I informed them to serve the silvanas after our main dish as for our dessert but they gave it to us as a take away. Maybe they forgot because they were very busy attending other customers. I informed the staff about my complaints but i did not hear any apologies or "pacensya na" or any palubag loob which is a must for customer service who are not satisfied. Over all it was worth a try for a tourist like us.

I love Sans Rival since I was a very young child growing up with my lola in Dumaguete. Everytime I visit and eat here, memories of good food (especially snacks like coffee and dessertremind me of the pastry I always wanted. <3

Located conveniently within the city, walking distance from Lee Plaza & Robinsons. Really affordable and has wide variety of cakes and pastries to choose from. They accept gcash, debit card, and other online payment options. A must to visit. Good for food souvenir. They still dont accept dine in customers though, so had to take out the silvanas I bought. Hopefully theyd cater dine in soon.

One of the familys fave go to resto. Love their signature salad. And because its just across the boulevard, the location is perfect.

One of the best silvanas I have ever tasted ever. They are the best when in comes to Silvanas. They now come in 3 new different flavors ube, strawberry and pandan. Their classic flavor is still the best but their other flavors, like chocolate, ube are also pretty delicious. One thing that you shouldnt miss bringing after you visit Dumaguete city. This delicacy is best when frozen so you have to bring your cool box when you bring this to Manila or other parts of the Philippines.

A Dumaguete must if ever you want to visit the city. Silvanas and Sansrival would never go wrong. Wide range of cake prices and varieties. From affordable to expensive. Just choose. All delicious and definitely sweet.

Must include dining destination in Dumaguete. Aside from the usual sansrival pasalubong, the meal options are all good. Hot chocolate made from tablea feels sinful.

The food is exceptionally good! And its cheap! The staffs are kind and approachable, this is a must visit in Dumaguete. It is located on an old house along the boulevard with a chill vibes and music.

We were so excited with our food! Everything tasted great! The food is reasonably priced with exemplary taste. The place jam packed, but they were able to serve us swiftly and their servers were really polite. Definitely a must-go to place in Dumaguete. 11/10 would recommend.

Excellent pastries :))! They have a large choice. It is a mix of local and tourist customers. We shared a cinnamon chocolate cream bun and an apple walnut petit - it was delicious! Recommend without hesitation to stop there for an afternoon tea.

A must visit for cakes & pastry lovers. The cakes slices we ordered are delicious & the meal is overall good. The Spaghetti Pasta has 3 breads which are just right for the three of us to snack on after a rather very hot walk from the market place. We also brought home Silvanas as pasalubong which are cheaper for P165 compared to prices in Manila.

The restaurant has a lot of variety to choose from. Its a nice place for having a meal with your family or friends. Great dessert selection. Nice ambiance, nice staff and well presented dishes. The food is mostly great but some might miss its mark. Some dishes may look delicious but the taste is just alright. Ill still keep coming back for more because of my favorite meals.

Great desserts and quite affordable, I have to say. We didnt try their sans rival but we did try their silvanas. Sweet but taste was good. If we had more time, we could have frequented this place. Even the locals were clamoring for their pastries. A definite must-visit if you happen to go to dumaguete.

Love the fact that Dumaguetes most famous bakeshop has opened a spot inside Dumaguete Port. Passengers off to Manila, Cebu, Bohol, Siquijor and Mindanao would have an easier way of bringing beloved Sans Rival delicacies to family and friends by buying directly from this stall.

Weve been here last August. The place is homey. The food is great and I like the ambiance here that it feels like youre dinning at the comfort of your home. Ill probably visit this place again once I go back in Dumaguete.

Food was good. But service was bad. We went there to have a family dinner on mothers day. When we went in, there were no available tables so I informed one of the waiters that we will wait and then saw that a group of people were about to leave so informed the waiter that we will occupy that space after them. When they left(after roughly 20mins), we occupied their space and asked for a menu. Suddenly one of the waiters approached me (with a slightly snob attitudeand said that other people were waiting. I then told him that weve waited as well and already informed the other waiter that wed occupy that space. He said that he was the one assigned for the waiting list and we were not on the list, we insisted, then the waiter let us occupy the space. Afterwards, he then approached us again and asked if wed have dinner. That was when I realized that we were being discriminated. Just because we were just ordinary people wearing plain clothes youd think right away that we are not supposed to be there and we cannot afford to have dinner? I thought discrimination no longer exist. But sadly I was wrong. As the old saying goes, dont judge the book by its cover. I think management should check on their staffs to avoid these mistakes.
