Must visit place 💫 .. use the place in a responsible manner.
Great atmosphere and must visit place if you are coming to jaffna.
Very nice bridge with nice views and small rest area to take photos and enjoy the never ending wind. Sometimes there are vendors who sell ice cream and snacks you can enjoy while you sit on the benches while you intake the magnificent view of Eelam. Take the detour from A9 to go in or out of Jaffna by Sangupiddi Bridge. Worth the view 👌
This bridge opened by Mr president mahinda rajapaksha at 2011. Currently very poor maintenance in solar lights and road
The road is the best to take when visiting Jaffna. The causeway is well built and roads leading to are also nice. Very scenic. Didn’t see any pot holes along the way.
This bridge is connecting Karaithiv & Pooneryn. This is the only route to enter to Jaffna peninsula through Elephant Pass.Good location for some scenic view.
Sri Lankan long bridge build up cross the sea 🇱🇰

Very nice place. You can have rest in the middle of the bridge. Can have a booze there if needed...
Good location to witness sunset
Greatest bridge in nothern area.
One of the most scenic bridges in srilanka.Located in A32 highway.
One of the war Historical place. Now in peace & harmony with people all over the country. 🌺
Its a bridge with water on both sides. Good location for some scenic photos. Should visit before the sunsets. After the sunset, its pitch black. Only few of the street (solar-poweredlamps light up after sunset. And shops around except a few shops on small trucks (those will be gone after dark)
This 288m bridge is constructed at a cost of Rs.1,037 Mn which connects Karaitivu with Pooneryn. Before this bridge the only land route to enter Jaffna peninsula is through Elephant pass. The bridge considerably reduced the travel time to enter Jaffna and contains a scenic view throughout the journey...
This bridge and the location are very beautiful.
Wonderful place and superb sea view
Sangupiddi bridge is very beautiful place for visite
very calm place in middle of sea. it is very scenetic place and you can stay hours with very relax mind.but as usual in other lovely places in sri lanka, people put garbage every where and polluted the place a bit.
Perfect place for hanging out with your friends and lots of youngsters visit here to take some Instagramable photos 😉

The Sangupiddy Bridge is part of the Jaffna-Mannar Highway (A32and reduces the journey from the south of Sri Lanka to Jaffna by 110 km or 3 hours. From Jaffna travel approximately 24 km along the Kandy – Jaffna Highway and Navathkuli – Karativu – Mannar Highway to reach the Sangupiddy Bridge.
It’s a nice view point. There is a place to park the vehicle also
Windy and humid with sea breeze.2,3 Vehicles can be parked side of the road at the allowed location and have a rest.

It is very beutiful and attractive location for early morning & evening visits
Beautiful place. can experience the sea breeze. There is a resting place near the approaches of the bridge.
Newly built bridge and fantastic location to stop and relax during Jaffna journey
This bridge is built after the civil war ended in 2009. This is one of the two road connections between Jaffna peninsula and the main land. You can rest hear for a while on your way to Jaffna. A parking spot is available and from there you can witness nice views over the lagoon. Awesome for sunsets.
Beautiful natural place located within the sea very good place for tourists and important tourist point in northern province located in jaffna mannar highway within puunakara and navatkuli. Sunset sunrise also can see from here
This "causeway" was constructed after the 30 year civil war ended in 2009 and connects Pooneryn to the Jaffna Peninsula. Its a wonderful work of civil construction with water on either side for some kilometres. We were riding motorcycles and the strong crosswinds made the bikes move from one side to the other. A great way to enter Jaffna peninsula.
Sangupiddy Bridge is a road bridge across Jaffna Lagoon and connects Sangupiddy in Kilinochchi District to Karaitivu in Jaffna District. It is one of road bridges connecting the densely populated Jaffna Peninsula with the mainland.
Beautiful stretch of road, one of the most scenic I would say.The drive is absolutely beautiful and you can hit a decently high speed if all is clear. There is an arched bridge on the way and on its apex you get a wonderful view. I must say that every photo you take in this route turns out beautiful.
Very amaizing place. Its a long road and bridge which is going through a big lagoon. This is an awesome construct. This place is so suitable for photoshoots too. The government uses a very good solar power system to light up this bridge and road. Youll feel like travel through the ocean when you travelling on this road and bridge. The road isnt good in some places and there are a lot of pot holes on the road. Need some attention about these pot holes when you driving on this road. Sometimes the wind is so heavy. I would like to go again soon. I took my drone with me to capture some footages of this bridge, before that I took permission from CAA and SL Army. Its really worth to visit this awesome bridge.
The view from here is amazing! Be mindful of the vehicles passing by if you stop by to enjoy this amazing view
945 feet (288mlong and 24 feet wide bridge which connected Jaffna peninsula to main land and its located in A32 Mannar - Jaffna road. Initially built in 1932 by British government and it was destroyed due to 30 year long civil war. Construction of this new bridge was completed on 2010. there is a rest area near the bridge but it havent any shelter. So its very hard to stay long time in sunny day.make sure to pay extra attention specially stay with kids, because vehicles run very fast in this stretch.
Road through the lagoon guides the A32 highway to jaffna. This is the second major entrance to jaffna after Elephant pass causeway. Nearly 4km lane goes over the lagoon to connect Karathivu and Poonaryn.
Nice bridge and beautiful viwe around the bridge.good place
What a beautiful place. You must go there . Beautiful sea
One of the good construction work done after the 3 decade of civil war connecting two different areas. This bridge has lot of scenic views. If you pass the area before sunrise or sunset that would be a treat to your eyes. Now the place is picked for photography venue and a location for music vedios. The place is littred by visitors. Please keep the place clean.
It has now become a favorite spot for birthday preshoots and wedding preshoots.Definitely a favorite place for evening Hangouts and selfies
Sangupiddy Bridge (Changkupiddy Bridgeis a road bridge across Jaffna Lagoon in northern Sri Lanka. It is one of only two road bridges connecting the densely populated jaffana with the mainland.
A must stop place when traveling to jaffna via pooneryn. Beautiful empty stretch of road bordering the water. Definitely a must take a photo location. There are benches around the upper side of the bridge so a great chill spot to sit and enjoy the view around with friends and family
A land mark, gives magnetic view but it is a bridge and the main reason for it is to be used for transportation not for photographyThat is the sad part
Beautiful structure on Jaffna Lagoon in Northern Sri Lanka. It connects Sangupiddy in Kilinochchi district to Karaitivu in Jaffna district. This the ideal place to see sun rise at early morning.Be careful about vehicles passing by.There is a small resting area you can be there.
Construction of Sangupiddy Bridge on Mannar - Pooneryn, Kerathivu Road is amazing. best driving experience cruising over bridge. This road has less traffic comparing the other route to mannar. Bridge has a parking slot for a viewing point , it was so windy.
Early days the A9 road via Elephant Pass was the only land supply route to Jaffna Peninsula. Most of the parts in the north of Sri Lanka were under terrorists influence and they controlled the Punarine area. After the war ends in 2009, this bridge was constructed connecting Jaffna and Kilinochchi districts and now this is the second access point to Jaffna. So people have easy access via A32 road Jaffna –Mannar road and the travel time is significantly reduced.
