Promenade, Blackpool FY4 1BB, Blackpool
Aquatic fun including slides, fun pools, a wave machine, lazy river and chutes, plus snack outlets.
At the time of visiting it cost £24 per person for 3 hours, which is a lot to find if you are a large family but if you can find the money then I recommend you do. It can get very busy, but by a twist of fortune we booked for the 8.30am slot and managed to get round all the slides before it got busy and it did start to fill up around halfway through the session. There are multiple slides for all ages, a wave pool, spa type facilities (for a small surchargeand a cafe should you fancy it. The toilets were really well maintained and clean. Really glad I went.
I come here a few times per year as my Son and whatever friend we bring love it! Today I’m sat in the spectators area with a book and a drink for 3 hours of peace and quiet! Special mention for Molly on the front desk for taking all our luggage and storing it safely.A lot quieter today than usual yet I’m assuming high entrance fees on top of cost of living crisis has a lot to do with that.
We went here at 5pm on a Friday. It was relatively quiet. As a family of 3 I did begrudge the £75 spend. Even though we got some of that back (swim cash and lockersit was still pricey for only 3 hours. Also when we looked on the website it would give you the height/age requirements for some of the slides. My child was 5 yet tall enough for the slides. The website states for some of the slides its 6years or 120cm which ever comes first. Yet the lifeguards wouldnt let my child on even though he was tall enough and a confident swimmer because he wasnt old enough. We did enjoy ourselves, and the slides are really good. Yet we spent the last hour pretty bored as wed done everything and there wasnt much else our child could go on.
Family had a great time here. It is disabled friendly, the only problem was getting a disabled parking space. While there we saw several people park, put up blue badges and then trot into the Waterpark to enjoy themselves. I would so much like to be able to do that or even walk half as fast as they could. I can only assume the poor souls had mental health problems.
Plenty to do The kids loved it, The only issue i had was that my daughter is 8 years old and quite small for her age so she wasnt allowed on most of the slides, she was quite upset by this but thats the rules, so if your kids are quite small for there age them make sure they are taller than the height restrictions for the rides as they wont be able to go on most of them but apart from that would definitely go again, water was fine and warm also.
Despite 1 incident with a life-guard, this was a fantastic experience for the whole family. There are a number of slides available for various ages and heights, the staff were pleasant and we’ll definitely return. Improvements could be made to the number and quality of floats available for the rapids.
Great place, awesome for families with disabilities.Kids loved it here and a lovely atmosphere, highly recommended, they have quiet hours for austic children and well equipped for disabled people.
We were there on a bank holiday, Monday, the afternoon session, 3:30PM. Staff were really really slow, like super slow, this led to the formation of huge lines, we were not able to reach the slides. I stood in line for 30 minutes to get the bouncy circle and when I was almost there theyve stopped the slide, I waited another 30 minutes for them to open it, then I went to the line to get on the slide itself, also a huge line and again they stopped it "for safety reasons", I gave up and got to other slide, other queue other 25 min for 3 seconds slide. Finally I got to the 3rd slide, I was alone, there were lots of single circles available, but the staff said I need to queue together with couples to be able to get a single circle🥺 so an other 20 min. The whole booking is for 3 hours, so if you want to lose your weekend or bank holiday time for your own money, this is the place 🙄🙄 Will never ever go again and not recommended to anyone!!!
This place is absolutely awesome. Dont really get the comments that say "disappointed my child couldnt go on such and such a slide", all info is available online. However, it does get horrendously busy so only a 4 out of 5. Id rather pay a bit more and have less people there. As it is, great value for money and nowhere else like it.
Our visit was midweek outside of school holidays. Parking was easy at the car park next door, cost was £9 via a phone app and there were plenty of spaces. No queue to enter, changing rooms were clean and there were plenty of lockers and changing rooms.Once into the actual water park it was a bit confusing trying to work out where the entry points were for the bigger slides but once we got our bearings it was fine. There are plenty of floatation jackets if you need one.All the staff on the rides were very friendly and most of the big slides had no more than a 5 minute wait. Our favourite was Aztec falls, but there are lots of steps to get to the start of the slide and you need to carry your doughnut with you, didn’t stop us going on it multiple times! There are two pool areas, one is a wave pool and the other has a kids section and a small lazy river area that we all enjoyed. The only real down point was the food and if that had been better then I would have given 5 stars. Service was quite slow and beef burgers weren’t very nice. Price was about £8 for a meal deal and you can extend your 3 hour slot by 30 minutes if you get a meal (we couldn’t do this as we were the last slot of the day).It was very quiet when we went and I wouldn’t want to go at peak times in school holidays but I’d definitely go back off peak again. A really fun family day out.
All good, friendly staff and plenty to do.Not sure if oap/disable friendly still ..... Id like to think so, unlike the pleasure Beach activity charging all even the old, disabled or anyone not up to using rides. The water park may be smaller but it is fun and family friendly.
This summer, my daughters and I have been to the majority of the waterparks in the UK but we left the best until last. Theres so many things for so many ages here, they loved all of it. The staff seem really nice and friendly (despite being at the end of the season!). Great place to take children of all ages.
A good afternoon, great slides and although it was kinda busy still enjoyed it. I think the 18 plus area is kinda sad and not worth it for the extra.
The swimming and slides area are OK. Kids liked it anyway. However the food and staff service were abysmal. The girls were busy having conversations about lads they had been with etc. Made you feel like you was interrupting their conversation. The Food was overpriced and absolutely gross. We just left the food as it was so vile. Wont be going back again.
Kids loved it, bit pricey for a family of 5 we payed around £140 but did get deposits for wristbands and lockers back. Time flys in this place, queues go pretty quick or at least they did while we were there. Plenty of activities and slides for everyone to enjoy.
We had a good time today. It seemed busy, despite saying it was running at reduced capacity, and the queues for the slides were long though. We particularly liked the river! Changing rooms were clean, and the queue to get in was short. Pre-booking is required according to signs outside.
We visited as a family of 7 in January. The queues for the slides go down quite quickly. Theres a nice cafe outside the pool area and the changing area was spacious and well cleaned. You get your locker money back at the end of your visit on returning your wristbands. Will definitely return
Water Park is good but its over hype for UK best indoor water park.
Very fun park with lots of activities for all ages. Aztec falls was by far my favourite water slide in the park but had a pretty long queue. The pricing was a bit expensive though, i’d say £60 -£70 for a family of 4 is more ideal as opposed to £92 which we had to pay (two adults, one teen and a child). The crowds were also another issue during the middle of the day with barely enough space to move around. Our session was at 3pm which was pretty packed at the start but towards the end became relatively calm.If you are coming here I would advise to either book a session either at the earliest time or the latest time and ideally in the cooler months.
I visited with my 2 grandsons 9 & 13. Was lots of slides, very clean & well staffed. Would recommend for all ages
It was amazing. You have to book online. They have lifeguards, at least 5 I saw, first aid point, toillets for disable people, for changing babys, tables for eat or let you bag with towels; the changing cabins are clean with showers and dryers for hair. It was very nice. The temperature was OK. .
Definitely a good day out, expensive but it would cost a lot to run that place so understandable. My daughter and I had a lot of fun on the slides.I would advise wearing shorts even if your a girl, some of the water slides hurt my daughter as the water flow is powerful on some slides.
Absolutely loved it! Its pricey to book it all but once you have youre guaranteed a fantastic time. The staff (especially the young lad greeterwere really welcoming and the price of the cafeteria in the entrance was surprisingly reasonable.
Great waterpark with some great rides, changing rooms are spotless and the staff are helpfully, queues not to bad for the slides.
Had a great time with the kids as the slides were fantastic…be prepared to queue for the best slides but wasn’t too long…wave pool was also great bouncing up and down…kids will (and adultslove it
Overpriced fun!It advertises to be the biggest in the UK, so of course we booked it up while on holiday, yes there are some great slides, suitable for all ages and abilities, but I found myself thinking of leaving after an hour or so. Ive been to bigger and better in this country. As a general fun 3 hours its good, theres the lazy river, the wave machine, the endless contraptions that tip water or shoot water, and of course the varying levels of slides, but Id rather have spend my £122 (2 adults and 3 childrenand many other things.
We arrived in time for our session to start at 9:30am, which was so quiet compared to later on in the day. It meant little time waiting to go on the slides and wasn’t too overwhelming as someone who’s sensitive to big crowds of people. Slide and ride lovers will adore going, those of us like me who have a fear of the thrill may get a little anxious on the bigger slides but I went on all the scary ones and came out of it alive and well! There are so many life guards and staff around to make you feel safe, and if big slides aren’t your thing there’s so many cool areas and lots for younger children to enjoy, it feels like you’re in a tropical rainforest almost. Definitely makes you feel like you’re transported from Blackpool to somewhere exotic! Lots of seating areas available too which I appreciated as I have limited mobility, so I was able to rest and calm my nerves down between slides. I was so nervous before going and was sometimes scared while waiting to go on a new slide but I did them and thoroughly enjoyed them! If you don’t do well in big crowds I’d recommend to go early and in the quieter times as by dinner time there were more crowds of people but again lots of little areas to chill and have respite should you need it. The changing rooms were large and clean, lockers are locked with a bracelet you wear which made it so easy as it stays on your wrist and doesn’t fall off. Was very easy to enter and leave and although I didn’t try the restaurant it looked so very cool with all the trees and waterfalls which just adds to the magic of the Sandcastle feeling like you’re somewhere hot and tropical!
Fantastic Waterpark! We went here in the Morning from 10am until 1pm. The Waterpark wasnt too busy as it was earlier in the day. There were many slides, some long like Master Blaster, some fast like Aztec Falls, and some for children. There were many so many to choose from, and they all were brilliant. My favourite being Master Blaster. The Water was clean and the lifeguards were regularly checking to make sure everyone in the Waterpark was safe and having an enjoyable experience during their time there. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I had a wonderful time. Phenomenal Waterpark, I will return and would highly recommend to anybody who likes Waterparks!
Fun water park. Lots of slides and rides and fun. Easy to spend 3 hours going non-stop except for the queues... Pretty hefty queues for the big rides, but worth it! The kids loved the lazy river and wave pool in particular. Didnt bother trying to eat or drink whilst in the park so personally I wouldnt bother with splash cash (we just got ours refunded at the end). Just make sure youre fuelled up and go and enjoy the water activities!!
We came to Blackpool last week for a holiday. We booked the 9am session, you get 3hrs in there. It wasnt overly crowded so got on the slides with no queue, plenty of space to swim but by 10:30am it was packed.. Couldnt move. They do wristbands for lockers & to do cashless purchases in the cafe. Any monies left will be refunded. My youngest was a few cms to short to ride some slides. But we enjoyed our time. Quite expensive for a family of 4.. Overall it was good.
Great place for a family/ friends to spend time together. Safeguards are brilliant responding to needs. Lockers, showers and changing room very clean. In the on site restaurant my coeliac daughter was able to enjoy a gluten free meal GREAT!!!!!! Love the experience. Highly recommended. We will definitely go back again. Thank you Sandcastle Team!!!!!
Such a fantastic place. So much for the kids to do. Especially 8+ The only thing I think they need is a splash park or something for toddlers
Great afternoon out. Well staffed and cared for. Staff are friendly and helpful and keep a close watch over your safety especially around the rapids and wave pool keeping boisterous teens in check. £89 for family of 4 (7,9). Would recommend.
Speedy check in and directed where to go since we had never been. On a whole the place was clean, staff in changing rooms tidying around. Lifeguards in wave pool very alert and ready for anything. Any children into the deep end they were very fast to check that the child could swim by themselves, even asked us to see our daughter swim as proof (which she didBe sure to book the very first slot and do the slides first as after an hour and half of being there it was so busy! we left half hour before our time as it was too busy.Tad expensive but still good fun.
Brilliant day out not as warm as expected but fantastic fun place plenty for all ages to do from toddlers to thrill seeking teenagers and adults. Changing rooms were clean and tidy and there is a wrack of life jackets to wear for weak swimmers, these have to be taken off for the slides but they are provided free of charge to use which is amazing. All in all fantastic day out definitely will be returning with the family!
This water park is amazing, its like going abroad without the plane journey. The rides are thrilling but with so many to choose from theres slides for toddlers all the way up to white knuckle rides, the park is so warm but the water temp was perfect! To top it all off the staff are fantastic, they are well mannered, safety conscious & fast to react if needed. They were very kind & helpful when we had a mini emergency lol & overall the price is worth it if youve never been to a place like this. This is definitely worth a visit while youre in Blackpool. We will be going back next year thanks to all of you for making this such an enjoyable trip 😀
Absolutely fantastic day out with the kids, highly recommended if your visiting Blackpool. 2.5 hours of pure fun with a huge selection of slides and play areas, by the time we finished the kids were tired and we got peace and quiet for the rest of day 😂. Ther is a cafe and gift shop inside if you want to purchase some gifts.
Stings the wallet big time. Expensive parking, lockers, food, drink and 2 kids 1 adult was £70However it was really fun and the staff where amazing. Little life jackets put my mind at absolute ease I could see them easily at all times and keep them comfortably. Lovely and warm too.
Great way to spend a few hours. It was school holidays/Sunday when I went so was very busy!It was reassuring to see the staff being very attentive with safety.Mobile phone not allowed inside for obvious reasons.Book in advance.Electronic locker system was a little fiddly.Food and drink available inside, you can buy a wristband instead of taking cash/card in.
Really good fun but the ques are ridiculous takes the fun out of it.Plenty of lockers although they could be bigger and communal changing rooms i thought was not appropriate this day and age with all that goes on in the world.Prices should be cheaper to reflect the time you actually get to go on the water slides. Lazy river very small but fun and wave machine only went on twice in 3 hours we were in there. Aimed mostly atOlder children I would say.
As a local the sandcastle is ideal to pass a rainy day .Kids love it and has something for all ages. Bonus is they even lend swim float jackets for those swimmers that might not have much confidence or the little ones who need a extra helping hand. The Life guards are on the ball and in general all staff are helpful including security on the doors who are always willing to help or answer questions
Really enjoyed it here, took my toddler and she was able to go on many rides, we spent a total of two hours in there, due to little one getting so wiped out. Only downside is they seem to charge for use of the water spray guns and that just seems a bit of a cheek. Also the staff are friendly, helpful and attentive.
Warm inside water semi warm too showers electronic lockers. You can load money on your wrist band. Booking should be done before arrival.
Id of enjoyed it here a lot more if it wasnt so badly packed. I think its kinda dangerous to have that many people in a water park where there is a wave pool. My 6 year old girl was kinda bored because all the big slides were for bigger kids/adults. And I just stood and watched her on the smaller slides. Id definitely go back but just not if its packed.
Its a good places to go but not well catered for kids under 1.1metres and my son is 5yrs old. Yet at alton towers in that water park he was allowed to go in rubber ring rides with me. So if you have small kids no point going in just yet.
Had a Brilliant time. But I think £84 for a family of four for three hours is a little expensive. The last hour we was in there was extremely busy. queued for 35 minutes to get a one slide. Find it very hard to believe youre running at reduced capacity it would be impossible to get any more people in.
Much better than expected. A lot less crowded than I thought and plenty of slides. We didnt queue more than 5 minutes for any of them. Only downside is the changing rooms are FREEZING so be warned
Me and my cousins booked the waterpark for Nov 2021 and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience even though we had seen the negative reviews on google. This place wasnt overcrowded, roughly a 10min queue for the big rides but this was during winter season. Also, i couldnt count 18 slides???
Was a great 3 hours of family fun well spent. The only downside was that we had to wait 55 minutes in a queue which took us nearly an hour off our 3 hour time slot....
Absolutely brilliant! So much fun. Plenty of slides & rides for all ages! There is so much more here than The Alpamare in Bridlington. Cant recommend it enough. X 👍👍👍
