No-frills restaurant fixing up late-night Thai staples including duck salad & beef noodle soup.
Their Pad Kee Mao is sooo tasty. Best I’ve had in LA. No fuss dining experience with delicious food.
The menu has so many items, they all look good to me. I order duck over rice and duck noodle. It was tasty and the potion is big. Chicken satay is good too, the meat is very lean.
First time at this popular restaurant. Parking is hard to find in this small area. I had their roasted duck noodle soup. Good portion of ingredients and soup is tasty.
Food was ok .. I asked for iced tea and they food the whole cup with ice and poured a little Thai tea...Place was a little dirty and when they brought the food it took half hour...wont be going back ... ill still VIM instead
Ill make this quick and simple as we all gotta get that general noodle soup. 🐽This place should get a 5 star review from me but Im only giving 4 and heres why:Good tasting food ✅Servers are too serious. They could use some friendliness. Well, I dont care much about smiling servers as long as they make me good food. But it helps to feel welcomed. My wife and I were given water that tasted like dish soap. We felt like throwing up after.Parking is extremely limited. Plan your visit accordingly..Vaccination card is required if youre dining in.If youre eating outdoor, no vaccination card required. You can for pickup.
The combination rice is da bomb! Soo good. The coconut soup wasn’t great.
Go-to for Thai food, very chill and inviting atmosphere. Food is always consistent and service is friendly, and now with the outdoor service dining experience is even better...
Great place for quick cheap Thai food right on Hollywood Blvd (about a 10 to 15 minute wait when busier). Uninspired and unhappy staff, however, if you can get past the ordering part, the food in general is served out in satisfying large portions. Parking is difficult but during rush times there is a someone in the parking lot to helps as the main lot is shared by other shops. Make sure to order with no MSG.
The meat was a bit tough, but the food was delicious overall. The soup was amazing. The air conditioning wasnt strong enough inside and we were feeling really hot 🥵
I would three different plates and egg rolls it was phenomenal 👌🏽👍🏽
I have only eaten Thai twice amd that number will become hundreds if Income here to Sanluamg Cafe in Hollywood. Worth every penny with 2 of us.less than 40.00.
The fact that this restaurant is open till late midnight amazes me! Me and my hubby always up till 1/2am and we love this place for a late night dinner. the food was decent nothing fancy. But we enjoyed it! Definitely would go again!
A lot of people frequent this place because the food is tasty, but the environment is not very clean. Flies are always buzzing about since they have their doors open all the time. The tables and seats were sticky, and I had to clean it. Perhaps it is due to not enough staff, and they are busy. However, I do not like going out to eat and having to use my bacterial wipes to clean any restaurants tables and chairs. I eat a lot of Thai food in Vegas and California, and this one is overrated. It may be due to the price since it is somewhat affordable, but it is never clean here. I have been to this place at least four times, and it is because my family in L.A. like it. There are other Thai places that are better, but my dad likes to come here since there is a Thai market next door that he likes to pick up things from. I only come here because my dad wants to, and I try to be a filial Asian daughter. Otherwise, my dad would take me to eat at Tommys burger everyday we are in town, and my old body cant take that food anymore. 🙃
Holy Moly! They serve Satay Pork! For some reason nobody seems able to explain, EVERYONE stopped serving satay pork several years ago.I even got ripped off by Chan Dara, trying to pass satay beef off as pork! Then, yesterday, I stumbled across Sanamiuang!Ive been jonesing for this stuff for years!Okay, got that out of my system.Very limited parking, their English is kind of marginal, but when I came in to pick up order, service was excellent and friendly.Definitely planning on returning!
This pains me giving them 3 Stars ~ glorious days of Sanamluang faded. We all noticed that the food is not as tasty as before. Its very basic. The service is a meh.. The restaurant is dirty. I hope we get to see the old Sanamluang I know. In the meantime, Crispy Pork Restaurant is just a block away.
Everything we ordered was delicious!! The service was excellent and our server was awesome!! We will definitely be back real soon (though it is quite a drive for usfor the delicious foods! Best Thai good Ive had here in LA thus far.
this is it you guys. its thai Street food that youve heard so much about, the Thai foodthat you remember getting. its not been watered down in Americana. this lady cooks four dishes a night, 10 bucks a piece you pick one she makes it right there in front of you and it is unbelievably good. family run. kid is at the register and hes way cool. the lady cooking is a little surly but dont talk to her. leave her alone to cook. and brother does she ever.
Small restaurant with indoor and outdoor seats. Not too fancy but food was Great. Service is good and fast. We ordered beef jerky, Tom Kha Kai, Pad Thai, Ka Na Mu Krob. All of which are delicious. Definitely worth it.
I would like to preface this by saying- this is my go to Thai place around the corner. Tonight, I came in just for one order of takeout. I asked for chicken pad Thai and they billed me for shrimp pad Thai. After I corrected them, they offered no new receipt, mentioned 15 minutes and then TOLD ME TO WAIT OUTSIDE. even though there was obviously an open table for people waiting for take out. I get much better customer service down the street at Hollywood Thai, so I doubt I will come here again. We’ll see how the food turns out.Update: Food was excellent, order was correct.
Best Thai Food Ever!! Take a look at the photos!
Im food delivery driver, picking up food in this restaurant is waste of time. 40mins of waiting but the food still not ready. Maybe the owner need to know this. Theres a lot of Thai rest that is express, fast and better.
Great food! Pad thai and duck curry, both excellent dishes here.
Food quality was great but flavor didn’t seem to be all the way there for the Pad Thai and Pad Seew. It was bland. Cha Po was delicious.
It was so delicious. I actually think of Thailand while I am enjoying every bite of my dinner that day.
I came here with famous Thai chef Victor Sodsook of Siamese Garden history. The Satay is really tender. I was surprised how much I like this classic I often avoid. Everything was great so no extra guidance from me.
Absolutely delicious, huge portions, friendly staff. We had the fried shrimp cakes, egg rolls, roasted duck noodle soup and pad kee mao. Everything was great, but I have to say the roasted duck noodle soup stole the show. Not something I would usually order but the broth was to die for and the duck was tender and flavorful. Very affordable for the size of the portions, as well! What we ordered could have easily fed a party of 4.
Sen yai neu sub was terrible; lard nah would have been better. Yen ta fo and tod mun kung were good. I asked for very spicy, but the dishes didnt come out spicy at all. The restrooms didnt have any toilet paper.
I love the Pad Thai the most. But a lot of things have changed around here since Dec 2021!One of the things that have changed is the Spicy Thai Noodles. The broth is less.. powerful? The taste and flavoring has decreased by around 70%! I mean its still good. But the flavor is just non existent from Dec.Another thing that REALLY bothered me was the water. It tastes like there is Dawn Soap in there. I think it might be the tap, butttt- I would suggest buying some Thai tea than drinking the tap water... They could really use a Brita. If they fixed those 2, then Id give a 5 star. But all in all, sorta disappointed 😔
A place I always frequent when Im in the Hollywood area in the heart of Thai town. Reasonably priced and variety of food is great!
There are some nice tables out at patio, so I thought it would be great to eat outside since there wont have any bug like flies to bug me... But its kinda too chilly 😉 to eat outside since its early January!!! 😂😁😅
Had the famous Sanamluang noodle soup! Always good! They have parking there and you can go to the awesome market next door.
Good food!! Open late!! Friendly service friendly price. I have a chance to meet the owner and she was so nice and thoughtful.
Yummy, affordable food! Not mind blowing, just simply yummy. I am full and happy. Got the pad thai (comes with shrimp and chicken), fried Chinese sausage, and the rice dish that comes with pork belly, char siu, and duck. Definitely had enough food for another meal, so actual price range would be $10-20 per person.Photo of already partially eaten food.
Having lived in Thailand for 5 years, I can attest to this being the closest thing and one the best Thai food authentic and not a bad item on menu.
Ordered the Garlic Pepper Beef with fried eggs over rice and a Papaya salad. Tastes amazing as always. One of my favorite thai restaurants in LA.
The service was good, the food here was great. The shrimp patty was amazing, and all the other food were well spiced and delicious. They also gave huge portions. She did say the portions were big, but for some reason we didn’t believe her and ordered multiple dishes anyway lol. It was all good though. The only thing bad about here is the flies. Hope they can fix this issue or something. That’s the only thing slowing down their greatness.
It was recommended to me by a friend so I went by and tried it , very much enjoyed it I had chicken noodle soup I don’t know what it’s called on the menu but it’s what you call LARGE! noodles were good chicken was plentiful sat outside again alfresco got in and out of there for $15 it was worth my time and my
I dont have good experience here. I don’t recommend this place. Lots of flies. The restroom smells very bad. The environment is not clean. Customer service is very bad.
Quite a busy place and parking might be a challenge but worth the wait. Authentic Thai cuisine with an extensive list of menu items.Definitely recommend calling in to pickup an order if youre passing by the area.
AHHHHH I FELL IN LOVE IN THIS PLACE! First of all the server who served us was REALLY NICE!! She was thoughtful and always come to check by and made sure that we have everything we need. I ordered the Spicy beef ramen and WOW-- I didnt expect that it will be a large bowl (lol). I had a hard time finishing it but it was realllly delicious! My family also enjoyed the food that they have ordered! The Panang was reallyyyy good! I cant describe their foods in words but I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! We would be very likely to drop by again if we have the time.
After carefully considering all the facts (taste, environment and the serviceI would give them 4 star. And the reason behind that is even though their food is tasty and authentic but their service is not very satisfactory! 2 other table got food before us when we order before them. And the other thing is their portion size wasn’t consistent. I notice some got more and others less comparatively! However I will still highly recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic Thai food.
This location is not as good as their Claremont location. Although they said they are the original, the Pad Kee Mow noodle was soggy and didnt have the charred smell like the other location. Their grilled pork was the worst dish we ordered. The rest were okay.
chicken curry very good. pad see ew excellent. Food items were delivered at different times. Parking is limited. flies in their outside seating but lady suggested to sit inside.
One of my favourite place while in thai town. It can be crowded and parking will be sucks during night time, but it worth for wait. Try their combination fried rice and pad thai. It is so good. Cant go wrong with it. The cashew chicken is ok. But over all loves this place
The food was great we got the Tom yum with pad thai noodles. The service on the other hand not so great the waitresses brought my food and we waited a few minutes for my husbands but she never brought it when we finally asked her she told us she had forgotten to place his order and walked away without apologizing or anything, when she brought my husbands food she never came back to our table to ask if we needed anything we had to keep flagging her down so she could bring us our drinks napkins and finally our check.
Best thai food in los Angeles, been going there for over 15 years. Prices are reasonable, and the quality of the food is awesome, always fresh ingredients and CONSISTENTLY well done and familiar in flavor. I literally only come here for thai in los Angeles.
Ive come to this establishment on and off for over 2 decades. The food always tastes fresh, and the service is great especially late at night. I didnt know they took debit/credit because when I started coming here it was cash only. Larb is always excellent. Light but filling! The portion are smaller than what I remember but that is to be expected. I took my food to go, this maybe another reason. But let me tell you, nothing like eating some of the best Thai cuisine Hollywood has to offer in the comfort of your own home. This place is a solid must try.
No frills is correct and I liked it that way. The food was excellent, steaming hot and tasty. Service superv and available parking with an attendant outside-a must for Hollywood. The fact that its open until late is very convenient. The place was mostly full when we arrived at 9:30pm. The back of the restaurant had great music playing. We heard Adele, Gaga and Madonna while we were there, making it a comfortable and casual atmosphere. Will definitely keep it in mind next time I feel like having Thai food late night!
This place serves the best Thai noodles Ive had in all of L.A. Ive been coming here for years, but within the past year or so the place has had a face lift and theyve started accepting credit cards, so I find myself coming here more often.Recommended dishes are the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Pad Kee Mao and the Emporers Noodles. Parking can be tricky (small lotbut this spot is worth the effort.
Okay. Its relatively inexpensive and the wait time is short. They have a parking lot, which is always tight. The place is busy, but its a small space. There are very few healthy options here. Most of the food is fried or very greasy. The pad Thai is good, had nice flavors. The service is good, attentive staff. Is it fine dining? Nope. Are there healthy options? Few. Is it a clean restaurant? Undecided, probably not. Is the level of quality top notch? Nope. Is it cheap? Yes. Comfort food? Absolutely.
