Breakfasts, lunches and dinners are served at this casual all day restaurant on a corner plot.
Me and my boyfriend have been down in brixton for the weekend and spent a really fun saturday night here! i mentioned it was my birthday in a few days time and they brought me a delicious cake free of charge… and oh my the cocktails!! absolutely insane!!
Family run, friendly and quick service, safe atmosphere and outside terrace. Fresh food, good draught beers and must-have Cannolis. Highly recommended.
Fab, family run bar. Great food, really good selection of drinks, and super friendly and helpful staff. It was so good we went twice in one day ❤️💙
Good coffee in one of Brixtons longest serving independent cafés, recently refurbished and now serving cocktails at night. Shame the WiFi hasnt worked for months though
Amazing bar! They have a really good selection of spirits and cool beers. Nice atmosphere and cheerful staff.
Great range of food for eat in or takeaway. Always great service anytime I have been
Swift service, great food and delicious cappuccinos. Ate a full English breakfast that was well made with a nice smoothie on the side. A little noisy in the restaurant, but everything else was spot on.
Good place to get a coffee and other things that I havent tried yet but will next time I visit
The bar inside is very good. Happy hour 2 for 1 on drinks worth it. The bar attended Rachel is very polite, friendly and efficient. Would recommend
Absolutely adore this place as the food is very nice 👌 and the kids enjoyed the food 😀 😋 😊
This is my first visit. Food great, staff adorably welcoming and pleasant. Definitely coming back!
Reasonably priced but not worth a penny. Bizmal at best. Overdone sausage and bacon. Hash brown was dried out with a slight burnt taste. Asked for soft egg, see picture and you judge. Mushroom had an unusual flavour that didnt taste like mushroom. Hot drinks are ok. Used to be a lovely spot. 1/5
The best coffee, fresh food, amazing staff and atmosphere. There’s a reason they have been running independently for so long. Best cafe in south London. I have been a long time regular and will continue to be for the rest of my life.
OMG best restaurant in brixton HANDS DOWN. The food is absolutely amazing, from full english breakfasts and eggs benedicts to bolognese. Everything is to die for. They have a massive variety of food thats made fresh every day. The staff are all very friendly and love to see that they are also mostly women too. Coffee is the best around. Great atmosphere to be in, its very busy but how could it not be. The price is so great, full english breakfast for only £8.95, i went with 2 other people and total was under £30 for drinks and food, you cant go wrong! Will always be my favourite place to go.
Absolutely amazing came to see the prodigy at brixton academy and ended up having great conversation with the owners really lovely and respectful people
Great coffee and dog friendly and staff excellent service 👍👍
Beautiful breakfast esp the eggs Benedict. Friendly and helpful staff
I dont know if this is Londons best kept secret or what. We just sat down for a few drinks before a concert and we had the best time and had to come again afterwards. Sammy (Sami?made us incredible Cocktails and was super friendly. I love to end up by accident on little gems like this place. Thanks again guys ! A night to remember.
Food is always delicious and fresh, prices are great - I love coming back to San Marino.
Great service. The team are super keen to keep their clientele happy. Which is good, because thats where all of the revenue comes from, innit. Keep it up guys.
Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff and great food. My best friend took me here as it’s her favourite breakfast place, it didn’t disappoint! They even offer a halal breakfast 😊 milkshake was great also 😄 will defo be back.
Certain staff are of low fiesty vibes....might be an age thing or colour thing that I experienced from a female staff member! Dark toilets which in my books is a health safety issue. Being short sighted and leaving my glasses in my handbag upstairs didnt help going down to a dimly lit dungeon/ dirty, unkempt toilet. Perhaps there are other agendas going on in this place. Mutton dressed as lamb upstairs though amidst Brixton....not my worries any way as wont be returning!
What a lovely bar! Mario and his staff were so accommodating and kind to us from the onset. Thanks again for a lovely night!
Great little find for an evening drink! Sat outside and was made to feel so welcome by door staff who made sure my daughter was ok. Will definitely visit again! Thank you
Always enjoy it here. My go to spot in BrixtonSpicy chicken wrap and a double espresso. All done nicely.Service is quick and efficient. Dont know why some people have complained in other reviews.
This is a great cafe in brixton, the pastry selection is fab! and the coffee is tasty. What i really like here is that all brixtonians seem to go here, so its catering to everyone and not just Brixton yuppies or families or locals or workmen on breaks, but everyone.
You serve up some decent food but you guys are charging £2.50 for a small cup of green tea, i think you should consider serving the green tea in a pot. £7 for a jacket potatoe is an actual joke so expensive.Prices on the board dont reflect the actual price when at the till.
"The best Martinis in London" - some customers, who werent wrong. The cocktails are really very good, as is the music if youre aged 20-35.Really nice place, beautiful decor and lovely staff. Its right by the station, so perfect to stop by at.
Friendly service, great selection of drinks, smoothies and coffees. Lovely gatues.
Food is very good, service is quick, prices are great! The place and the personal are very chilled and nice. Would definitely recommend for a nice brunch/breakfast place without the unnecessary fuss you usually find in London!
Love their vegan options unfortunately not much for sweet things for breakfast like vegan croissants or vegan cakes.. but I really like their Vegan English breakfast!! And the coffe is great too!
Was so impressed with this little place! Honestly wasn’t expecting much but got a decent sized dish of chicken carbonara (they added the chicken in for me!and a coke for less than a tenner. In a normal restaurant the food alone would’ve cost around £13 at least!Staff were really nice.Highly recommend
Lovely cafe on Brixton high street, serves hot drinks, smoothies, Panini & pastries. Eat in or take away. I ordered a hot chocolate and chicken escalope while my friend had a strawberry banana smoothie. Perfect for a catch up with a friend.
Food is delicious and fresh. Drinks are plentiful and made just right. But best thing on top of the great quality food and drinks is really service. The family staff are very polite and service is super fast.If you want good tasty food or just a drink with some spirits you wont find in your average bar, here is the place to go.They also have light up drinking glasses that are mind blowing!
I like the cafe but I am tired of being over-charged. The menu says that tea is £2. I am always charged £2.40. Then yesterday, I was charged £6 for two teas. Six pounds! Either update your menu so that customers are informed, or stop ripping us off.
The staff were friendly and polite, the price is reasonable. I got the egg royal which was really really nice the sauce was amazing and the smoked salmon was a nice and delicate flavour not overly fishy. The coffee are nice too. And there is a good Halal option that people with me are enjoying.I would recommend this venue
Seriously good cafe with a delicious menu at great prices. The chilli chicken and coriander panini is delicious as is the two piece chicken leg and thigh with chips or salad if youre lucky enough to get there in time. Coffees are perfect too. They get really busy during lunch times but always serve with a laugh and a smile.
Why does this place have amazing reviews? I must say that I am very confused. This cafe is very noisy which is fine, it is on the main road in Brixton so I expected this.I ordered one Americano with milk and a cupcake. Took them 20 minutes to serve it and once I get my cup, the coffee was all over the place (see pic). The waiter says nothing.I ask him if they have WiFi (here with my laptopand the waiter says I dont know its my first day and left. WHAT? Surely he could say I will ask and get back to you? Sorry for spilling your coffee, let me get you a new cup? NOTHING!The place has a funky smell. Will not come back.
A lovely spot! Cocktails are 11/10, service is better. A must visit! 🙂
Delicious food and large variety of teas, coffes and smoothies. Nice staff.
I first visited San Marino many years ago when I worked in the area, I can confidently say the quality and taste of food has always been and remains excellent. Cannot fault them at all. I continue to visit San Marino when I am in the area and I’m never disappointed!I highly recommend the chicken coriander and rice :)
The food is always fresh and theres plenty of seating inside and outside. I highly recommend the generously portioned panini, their filling to bread ratio is perfect :)
Nice outdoor seating just outside the Brixton market area. Lovely pastries and cakes with decent breakfast and sandwich options. The staff is always nice. A pleasant surprise, the smoothies are on point. My wife and I get one every time we go!
Excellent selection of great tasting food and drinks (including smoothies, teas, hot chocolates and speciality lattes). Takeaway and eat in options available. Additional seating is available downstairs,
Great breakfast, great price. Will definitely come back.
For beverages and cake or snack at a fair price and family run I cant believe I havent found the San Marino cafe before. I had an informal interview to attend so wa early and at 6pm found a quiet corner to consume a lovely latte and rather good piece of carrot cake (generous portion!). Good mixed crow of people and friendly staff made my 20 minute visit interesting as well as the view on to one of the busy Brixton walk ways. Must try some lunch there next time.If you liked this review, please Like it!
Friendly staff, many options available (including vegan croissant, full vegan english breakfast or even halal breakfast). Also really nice smoothies. Nice place to stop by when you are in a rush and especially if you have food allergies/ diet requirements!
The best coffee in Brixton. Brixton has its share of trendy coffee bars selling overpriced mediocrity, and chains too, but San Marino stands above them all. The way the staff seem to move around like parts of a machine is impressive to watch. The nice extra touches, like putting the coffee cup in your hand and wishing you well, contrast massively with the snobby indifference of some of the hipster venues. Forget the rest: drink the best.
If you are a Brixtonian you know this place is the best family run coffee house in South London. Long -term Sicilian origin family who have had the place since 1993. Coffees and wide selection of Paninis are the best. There are fresh juices, breakfasts (halal options), cakes, croissants etc. Seating outside, inside and downstairs. Staff are polite and courteous. Wifi available and toilet available. Crowd is mix of multi-cultural London. If you come to Brixton you have to have coffee there.
Nice coffee, right on the corner so good for people watching too. Loses a couple of points for the pastries being at least a couple of days old. Shouldnt be any reason to sell old inedible food to your customers.
