they have a whole seperate vegan menu! the vegan pulled pork sandwich is super good, and the vegan mac and cheese is pretty plain but still good. the drinks are also good and reasonably priced! on top of that, the service was great and there was live music on a wednesday night. would definitely come again!

San Juan Smoke house is amazing. If you love BBQ this is the place for you. This is my second time here and the food is just as good as I remember. I had the chicken tacos and the stuffed chicken avocado. They are also vegan friendly. At night people sing and dance in the street. The place is just a vibe!

This place has amazing food, vegan options and street music all nights of the week. We found this spot early on our trip and tonight will be our 4th night back in a row. The area starts hopping on Thursday and were told that it gets better Friday and Saturday nights. The wait staff was very nice and remembered our drinks the 2nd night. We will miss this area.

This is the one restaurant I ALWAYS stop at while on the island. I love its casual atmosphere and good smoked brisket.I hadnt visited since the pandemic until now (Aug 30, 2022). I am disappointed they went to plastic silverware and such small amounts of BBQ on the side. Plasticware takes away from the enjoyment and experience.I have had almost everything on the menu, and not one bad thing ever.They earned this rating over many years of great experiences.

First time visiting Puerto Rico and found this gem. Great ribs, great atmosphere, and service all wrapped in to one!!!

The Bartender had great energy and welcomed us by making us feel great to be in Puerto Rico. The Brisket is amazing and you should try it considering it’s Puerto Rico. So why not go on a weekend as well

The BBQ was so good! Finger licking! We also tried the cornbread and brisket stuffed avocado. I would order both again but there are lots of yummy looking items on the menu. I recommend getting there early if you really want to eat. Paid Parking lot in walking distance.

Amazing food and great service/location. I ordered the burnt ends as an appetizer (it comes with chipsand the brisket stuffed avocado as my entree with a side of macaroni and cheese. The chips, macaroni and burnt ends as a combo was absolutely delicious. I highly recommend this establishment!

One of the best barbecue experiences I’ve had. Not just in Puerto Rico but in all of the United States. Great place with even better food. Jose was awesome as well. He gave us great recommendations and great service.

What a great BBQ place right in the heart of La Placita Santurce. We shared an amazing meal of Memphis style ribs, succulent brisket, excellent burnt ends, and smoked wings between 4 foodies. We needed the additional fuel to keep everyone going over the holiday/bachelor weekend. This is a must visit restaurant, highly recommended!

Described in one word…..FIRE!This place was amazing. We’ve had great BBQ in South Carolina, Texas, etc. and this place could go toe-to-toe with any US BBQ joint. Jose and his team were fantastic & got us seated quickly (even with a packed house on a Saturday night). Highly recommend if you’re visiting San Juan :-)

The drinks, the food, the service and the ambience were all amazing. Best pulled pork I have ever had. The wings with sweet chili sauce were also on point! Highly recommend! Parking can be tricky but thats the only complaint!

Went on a Thursday night. Not too busy but by the time we were there, around 7:30/8p, they were out of all meat besides pulled pork.The pulled pork sandwich was incredibly good with crusty bread, fresh crunchy coleslaw and yummy pork. The bbq sauce was very tasty.The vegan pulled pork stuffed avocado was huge and delicious! The avocado itself was incredibly fresh and the jackfruit pulled pork was great.They had excellent rum punch that I would recommend to anyone anytime.

Had THE best time Sunday, live music, all good. Stuffed avocado with brisket was delicious (could have used more coleslaw). We were there over 5 hours, there were so many people on the sidewalks and in the street, dancing (including us), a good time was had by all. Everyone was so friendly. The bartenders were also our servers, they werent the friendliest, and gave us our check before we were ready to leave (we were still ordering drinks), it was like they were kicking us "out". But it was an outside location and we were all partying. Highly recommend you go on the weekend in the late afternoon/evening.

The food, drinks and service here was amazing. We tried chicken wings, burnt ends, brisket stuffed avocado and mac and cheese. It was all delicious. The drinks (Moscow mulewere very tasty too and our server was very friendly. Would definitely recommend.

Got here around 1:30PM on a Wednesday - even though restaurant was full, finding seating was not a problem. We opted to sit at the bar and the bartender was genuinely nice with great recommendations. I ordered the vegan burnt ends and a half dozen sweet chili smoked wings, and my boyfriend ordered the vegan Mac and cheese as well as the vegan pulled pork stuffed avocado. Service, atmosphere, and food was all incredible. I would definitely recommend for carnivores and vegans alike.

The wings and ribs were amazing. Both fell off the bone and had great flavor. The brisket was flavorful, but not quite as tender. Loved the rice and beans and Mac and cheese. The Texas Tea was a perfect drink to compliment the meal.

The burnt ends brought me back to how my grandmother would make them (to die for). Their sliders were good, but the stuffed Avocado was out of this world. In addition, the service was great. The place was packed but after a short wait we were seated. Really cool atmosphere and great selection of beers and cocktails.

Delicious food. They served us very fast and their menu was descriptive. The menu was also online. There was a QR code taped on the table and very easy to access. The bathrooms were right next to the building. The food was delicious and they gave us sauces for everything and their salad was very good. There were small watermelon cubes with a little bit of feta cheese on it which gave it contrast since the watermelon was sweet and the cheese was salty. After we finished, the people there wiped the table down thoroughly and it was like we didnt even eat there.

I’m a huge bbq guy and Before my vacation I searched this place and decided to visit. I was blown away! The bbq was amazing! The area is awesome and the ambiance of the bar is excellent. Staff was super friendly and quick to help us. This is a MUST if you are in the area and love bbq

What a find! Our second time stopping in and it’s fast become our favorite BBQ. We ordered the short rib sandwich, and the chicken bacon sandwich. Both were exceptional! Our side, sweet potato fries arrived piping hot and fresh ! The staff is friendly and nice. We ended up chatting with a gentleman prepping meat for the smoker. He meticulously prepared brisket that would be a two day process. A fun meal on a sunny Saturday. Thank you Smokehouse! You’re old school great… Great food, great service, and great people!

José and the rest of the staff are ready to bring you the best barbecue on the island with a smile. The BBQ is on point, and as flavorful as you would expect as soon as you get within the distance where your nose lets you know youre close 👍. The drinks are generously poured, and fairly priced for the area.Side note : the pulled pork nachos, pork belly and burnt ends are easily the best on the menu, but there isnt a bad thing on it. We cant wait to come back here, as we know it will deliver just as it did the last several times.

Delicious and great service. It’s in a cute neighborhood with lots of other bars and restaurants. You have the option of sitting inside or outside. The Smokehouse Feast for Two would definitely be enough food for 3-4 people.

Really good bbq. Got the pulled pork platter and besides the coleslaw on top it was perfect. Also had a side of Mac and cheese that was very good and flavorful. The staff is friendly and drinks look good too. Fair prices. Would definitely visit again or recommend to others.

Southern BBQ in PR! The rib is amazing. One of the best I’ve ever tasted. The drinks are also extremely good — recommend the watermelon cocktail.

The best place to eat in La Placita💕**Update I visited again in late January of this year, and the food is equally amazing! As you can see, I pretty much ordered the same delicious brisket, Mac and cheese, and corn bread I had 2 years prior. I like what I like, and this food is goodt! Still highly recommend, and I’m glad they survived the pandemic! Looking forward to returning during my next visit!

My meal was delicious! I ordered stuffed avocado with smoked chicken and the watermelon and feta salad. After a day at the beach and touring, it was absolutely refreshing!

Great BBQ restaurant/bar in the middle square of La Placita in Santurce. This was my first time eating there, even though Ive walked by it many times. What a shame because the food was top notch. We tried the 2 person sampler, which was enough for 3. The smoked wings were great, and the pulled pork nachos were amazing! I was especially impressed with the vegan options. I tried the vegan pulled pork taco, and it was excellent. The jackfruit even resembled pulled pork in appearance and flavor. Not hungry? No worries as they have a full bar with an ambitious menu of craft beers and cocktails. Try the El Jefe if you enjoy a Manhattan or old fashioned.

Loved this place so much. The atmosphere is extremely lively with live music and people dancing in the street. Also a BBQ place with vegan options which is nearly unheard of. A must see for your visit to Puerto Rico!

This is the perfect place to come if you are a meat lover and have a vegetarian/vegan friend. They have a large vegan menu along with Caribbean BBQ. I had a brisket taco, chicken taco, vegan nachos, and vegan burnt ends. The restaurant has tables inside and outside. We will definitely be back on our next trip.

It seems crazy that a smokehouse would have such great vegan options, but wow! The food was good - not great - but I was so impressed that they even had it! I got the brisket sandwich and Mac and cheese and both were good. I’d stop back if I were in the area. It’s also a really cool part of town.

My friend was craving brisket so this is the only place open in the area. I order the ribs and he order the brisket. Both were dried. The flavor of my ribs really good too bad was over cooked. The brisket had a lot of fat of course is brisket, sometimes is like that. Overall service was ok not relevant. I’ll give it another try for sure.

Great energy on a weekend night: folks enjoying cookouts and live music! Some of their sides run out by late dinner but definitely try the brisket and burnt ends! Solid variety for cocktails too.

One of the best vegan meals I’ve ever had - and by far the best (and onlyBBQ joint that serves a full vegan menu. We ordered the pulled pork platter and Memphis ribs plus vegan Mac and Cheese.Our server, Jose, was fantastic and our table gave us a front row seat to the outdoor music. Came in due to the high ratings on Google, and it did not disappoint! We had the appetizer sampler for 2, and the brisket stuff avocado! We had the "A Day in Paradise" and Smokey Maragarita, both of which were fantastic. Would definitely recommend coming in, as the food was delicious, the staff are friendly and the drinks are fresh and tasty!

The food is absolutely delicious! I had the pulled pork sandwich on local water bread and it was super flavorful and juicy; it just melts in your mouth. Comes with one side and I got the mac and cheese which was also excellent. The prices are reasonable and the portions are good for one person, though maybe a bit small if you are a large hungry man. However, it is so affordable you can get more things if you want and some items seem larger anyway. I would hight recommend you visit this place!

My boyfriend and I dined here last night. Food was awesome! I had the Caribbean brisket, beans and rice, and wedge fries. He had the brisket tacos and chicken tacos. All was seasoned well and cooked to perfection. My only complaint is the menu is QR code only which makes it difficult for us from the mainland that don’t have mobile internet access here and cell service was weak too. The waitress was kind of enough to pull up the menu on her own phone. The drinks were great too!

Amazing pulled pork tacos. We had the local special rum punch and then we were treated with their amazing ribs and pulled pork stuffed avocado! I even bought a shirt and a hat bc I was so thoroughly impressed ☺️ will definitely be back!

Got the vegan pulled pork sliders, vegan brisket cheddar sandwich, and the vegan Mac and cheese and everything was so great!!! Especially loved the sliders. I love how they have so many vegan options and they are delicious! Highly recommend for other vegans!
