San Gennaro in Zürich (Kreis 12)

Describing in one word? Just amazing for my opinion one of the best Pizzeria in whole Zurich~😍Typical Neapolitan pizza🍕, fluffy, plenty of tomato sauce yet the dough isnt getting soggy at all! Thin but very chewy and as said not getting soggy at all. I took the Margherita and Id say simplicity wins. You dont need much ingredients to make the pizza wholesome. For appetizer we took Vitello Tomato and it was very nice. The veal isnt dry and well plated. I wish maybe for more sauce. But it was yummy for sure.The restaurant is very big has a lot of tables to occupy, for sure family friendly and kids friendly.The staff are friendly and attentive.Definetly going to visit San Gennaro soon. It seems to be in Italy (except for the prices ;)). There is not a big choice of pizza but the quality is really good. I will go there again.

Probably the best pizza Ive ever eaten 😍😍 tiramisu amazing and rich, delicious wine too. Amazing. Go here if youre in Zürich. It was life changing 😅 new pizza standards have been set (pizza Caserta)

I went there with my girlfriend who is an English speaking person who can’t speak German. The waiter refused to speak English with her and I had to translate for her, which I found was very insulting to her. I know not everyone knows English but if you work in the restaurant industry, you should at least speak some English and know the very basic vocabulary. Moreover the menu is in Italian, a language we both didn’t speak so we ordered the best looking pizza from the pictures I found here. Why there is no German or English menu is so astounding to me. I know they probably want to be an authentic Italian restaurant, but creating a very unnecessary language barrier is not the way to authenticity in my opinion. The San Gennaro pizza was tasteless and bland, especially for that price point. The under part of the pizza was so burned… A positive thing I can mention is that the service was fast.

We went for dinner and can recommend rsvp beforehand! Friendly staff and just very very delicious Pizza. The terrace is beautiful and cosy during warm evenings and gives you Napoli feels all around. Great restaurant!

Margherinara pizza at San Gennaro 🍕 Great neapolitan style dough and delicious pizza. Only downside was a bit too much oregano on the pizza and not enough saltiness. Overall great experience, restaurant is a classic pizzeria, therefore it’s quite loud and not too cozy.

Good pizza. The bottom was however too burnt (too high temperature of the stone?). I tried the pizza Sorrento, i find the lemon cream doesnt go well with pizza (but that was my mistake, i shouldve known). Will go back for another try.

Staff is simply not friendly and service extremely poor. Even with the best pizza in the world, would be impossible to have a good evening in these conditions. And it’s not even the case.

Great as always. Pizza diversity is a little lacking but for what it is, its great! Views are also fantastic!

Pizza is exceptional, only the best ingredients are used. Starters are also very good. The personal is very friendly and add the right touch to the southern Italian atmosphere. The price is ok for Zürich. The location inside is basic. In summer I would like to try the terrace outside. I recommend this pizzeria!

Maybe this was an off nght for the team... looked forward to great pizza, a nice setting. I was received super friendly by the gentlemen at the entrance. Super friendly. Thank you again.Got a nice table thank you! We ordered wine the selection is very small and recommend to stick with beer or water. The glasware is subpar for the wines on offer. Ikea and wholesalers offer cheap glassware for large restasurant with a better wine expérience. Not expecting Zalto evendo this would be nice.After a while we ordered pizza and unfortuntelz had to wait a long time. There do not seem to be enough service staff for so many tables. After around 35 minutes and asking multiple times moderatelz warm piyya arrived. The pizza was nice but not top 80 great. Bin to too many places and as said perhaps the team had an off night. Taping were fine a nice pizza just not great. Not a fan of the massive olives on the pizza and the bite structure of these was not great. Please upgrade the olives.Tables around us had services break downs as well. No cutlery etc.Tried the marinara which was ok. The bill took a long time and the restaurant was unable to provide one bill for the different items instead got multiple tickets. All in all an remote OK experiences that has areas of improvement. Heard it is better on the terace in the summer. Still a decent pizza fix. Hope it improves.

Amazing pizza, although a bit pricy!I would highly recommend to try it out. Especially during summer, when you can eat at the terasse right next to the river!

Good pizza but I dislike the attitude of the staff: Somehow they combine the cliche of unfriendly Swiss with the cliche of disorganized Italians. Doesnt make for a good restaurant experience.

I went with a high expectation there w/ my accompaniment, since i got the information, that the pizzas there are amazing!Reason for my 1-star rating:Reception: the staff made a demotivated impression. No warm welcome, not patient & not friendly at all (not even a fake smile).Pizza: I ordered the Pizza Pompei. The mushrooms are not fresh, they are straight from the can. The Salsiccia were like minced beef without taste. Had to put salt, pepper & chillis on it. The dough was good though, which you can get as well from other places like NA081, Napulé Zurich.Service: we had to wait at least half hour until they took our first order. We were served by five different staff (obviously no table organization).Then finishing our starters, the waiter didn’t even ask how the food was.After our main dishes, we were craving for a dessert. Since none of the staff showed off anymore to ask us for some sweets, we were turned off waiting & just wanted to pay. Here too, it took us another almost half an hour to get the bill. Plus on top, the waiter charged us more (only CHF 5.- though).Gladly, we pointed him the cost out & paid the exact amount without any tips, which is justified to their poor service & average pizza.

The best margherita pizza in Zurich (Napoli style).In summer it is also splendid to sit in the terrace outside, with a view to the river.

Pizza is actually really good but the service is horrible. The guy who was serving us was extremely unpleasant. Also we had to wait for around 40 min for pizzas.

The Pizza was exceptionally good! I had Pizza Sorrento which was made without tomato sauce, but instead with some cream which had a lemon flavour, this matched perfectly with the mortadella used on the pizza. It tasted very good and it was innovative, not the same standard pizza you ate 1000 times before. We went there on a weekday evening and it wasnt full. Service was fast and friendly. I also took the Tiramisu which I didnt like so much, the Savoiardi were a bit to dry for my taste.The place had a really nice atmosphere, relaxed and casual. Of course a pizza of this quality will be more pricey than the Margarita from a delivery, but I found it worth the money and I am sure I will come back.Thanks for the good pizza and nice evening San Gennaro :)

One of the, if not the best napolitean style pizza in Zurich at a really cozy and scenic spot right next to the river and a beautiful summer terrace and an almost all italian speaking friendly service staff. A special mention deserves the amalfi pizza with an artichoke paste instead of tomato sauce, which tastes incredible and can be found practically nowhere else.

One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had (including in Italy)! The service was understandably a little slow in the peak summer times, but pizza was well worth the wait. Highly recommended!

+ very good Pizza, it is the Original Italian Pizza. In the menu only you can found 7 or 8 pizzas but you can build with yourself- Nor is it suitable for small children ( no children seats, no children drinks like ice tea, apple juiceonly water, no children Menu but they can make a smaller pizza- No Parking, you need to look in the street and in the near maybe 9 or 10 public parking places

Delicious pizzas. Best in town. Beautiful terrace, although its a bit challenging when it rains since they allocate you anyway outside and dont open the indoor area. Been there 2 times in summer and I got wet in both occasions.

Check the bill and sum the parcels. The waiter tried to rob me with a scheme pretending a mistake in the bill. Looks like hes used to do that frequently regarding the natural way how he does it and the fact that he didnt show surprise, remorse or even apologized when I found out. He just corrected and... rounded up without asking.For me thatl would be reason enough for this feedback but I can carry on. Although the location is very nice, the pizza is average. Never ever one of the 50 best in Europe as they claim. The service is very bad and slow specially the receptionist who treats you like a burden rather than a client. They dont bring menu in German or English, just Italian. I wonder if that is even legal...

Had the buratta and capricciosa pizza and they were both amazing and authentic! the balsamic vinaigrette blew my mind and i bought a bottle home. servers were extremely polite. highly recommend this place

Good pizza and very nice location but poor service. The waiters were efficient but we still had to wait more than 20 mins to have a table even if we had a reservation. Then after ordering we waited for more than 1h for the pizza. Wouldnt recommend if you want a quick service...

Worst service ever, pizzas took over an hour, asked 4 different people and everyone said 5 more minutes… one of the ladies had the worst attitude and when we asked how everyone is getting their pizza even if they arrived after she said “ if you want to make an spectacle go to the theater” , after more than an hour the only good thing was the view.

I have been there twice now. The first time the pizza was great, yesterday the pizza was too wet. The terrace would be cozy, but unfortunately over-seated. A few tables less would much to a cozy atmosphere since it is also very noisy and crowded despite outside. Too bad.

One of the good pizza places in Zürich, next to the river. The staff would take forever to take your orders but the food is worth it. Recommend to get the pizza and move to the riverside to enjoy more. We tried once for 12 people and they seated us in two tables so not good for large group of folks at once.

Apparently here they have authentic Neapel pizza so I decided to give this place a try. Personally I prefer thin and crispy dough but that’s not the point of this place.The pizza menu is small, with 2 special pizzas every month. Ingredients taste fresh and overall I liked the pizza. The portion is quiet big but you can take your left overs home.The tiramisu is seriously delicious, very creamy with good amount of coffee flavor.

Overall decent pizza at a fair price for Zürich. The dough itself is good, but the pizzas are too wet (too much tomato sauce, too oily), which makes it impossible to eat them by hand as the toppings slide right off. It’s rather messy.We waited quite a while for the pizzas to arrive and were initially served the wrong pizza, but managed to get that corrected right away without any delay.

No frills menu is really just pizza and antipasti. Nice view of the river and spacious indoor seating.

One of the best pizza in Zurich in my opinion! It was the first day of the year and they were clearly under staffed, but nevertheless service was friendly and quick. The tiramisu is AMAZING! I have tried a lot of tiramisu in a lot of Italian restaurants and this was simply the best I have ever had. Thank you for this great experience!

The Pizzas were really good! Although the price was a bit high but really reasonable. We got a margarita and a spicy salami pizza, the salami one was a bit soaked with oil but the margarita one was really good. I definitely recommend the margarita one!

This is a great place for authentic Napolitanean pizza in Zurich. The location is great, especially its terrace with a river view, which is fantastic for a dinner or Aperitivo in summer. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. Certainly make sure to visit when in Zurich.

indescribably good pizzas! the dough in this style as usual a hit burned but the taste lets you forget about everything else. fast friendly Italian service and great outdoors. wine selection could be a bit broader.
