San Carlo Cicchetti in Riyadh

It’s one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve ever tried. The food is so good very delicious. We tried pasta lasagna fish burrata salad veal escalope pizza French fries and more everything was delicious and fresh. The best part when you visit this restaurant is when you have the desert it’s a breathtaking. I really recommend the place.

My friends and I went there to eat lunch, we reserved a table for seven. We ordered food that’s worth over 1000+but the serving size was enough to feed two people. We were all still hungry but other than that, the food was good

The place has good food for real as I have been there before. But last time I went the way they seat people is extremely disrespectful. The literally stack people over each other to fit in more people and make more money. My wife and went there and couldn’t sit in privacy and people were literally few inches away from us. We left without eating.

I really enjoy coming here for good Italian food.. zucchini, lasagna, pizza, parmigiana, so many of there dishes are really delicious and maintains the same level since its opening. Only downside is how crowded it is, after two hours and waiter would simply place the bill on the table for people to leave.

Well, this restaurant has the best Italian food I’ve ever tried in my life (along with La Rustica tbhtheir pasta’s dough is just exceptional! Tastes very authentic, clean, fresh, and delicious! Their tomato is just another story! It just tastes so good to be just tomato!! The service was great, the atmosphere is classy but a bit too crowded, the tables were too close to each other which is a bit uncomfortable! But overall, the experience was great! I highly recommend it.

The food and service were both best. The restaurant kept up and improved both the food and service. Since then, Mr. Alex has greeted customers. His management and character made the environment enjoyable.

What a lovely place, it is very busy, heaving with people, I understood why when I tried the food. Delicious dishes, staff are nice and make you feel welcomed. Drinks are fresh and yummy. Definitely will come again. Thank you

Had a very short yet incredible experience there enjoying a fine espresso served to me by the incredible host from saudi (bald,handsome knowledgeablenight shift .. can’t fault him 😂 had a great conversation with him and a true gentleman and waiter from Tunisia(or Moroccolol and was supposed to eat there the next day but to him surprise it was full but I will have. Y fish and vegetables does from there because it looks Vero Sapore Italiano ! Grazie Mille !!Can’t wait to visit soon for a another espresso and/or meal ! Top class restaurant ! We had dinner today and I was disappointed by the staff attitude! They didn’t smile at all! But to be fair the services was fast.. the food was not so special, except the pizza and the Ice cream 👍🏻👍🏻

A nice place to spend your evening in with your family as children of all ages are permitted in the dining area. Overall, the food was average but the truffle pizza was very tasty. The host apparently struggled with managing the reservations as we had to wait for our table even though we were on time. The staff was friendly and the ambience was great.

Fancy restaurant you have to reserve before coming. The reservation experience wasnt good at all the reservation was in 11:00pm and we wait an almost half an hour to set in our table however the restaurant entrance was full of guests waiting their reserved table😕!!The service was in average the food taste was good for sea-bass fillet, baby calamari, rocket salad and something aubergine layers with tomato sauce and mozzarella cheese was tasty.For truffle and Parmesan risotto was under-cooked👎🏻 it suppose to be the star of the menu since its chefs special!

San Carlo always has delicious food and fantastic atmosphere. Highly recommend! Truffle and parmesan risotto is a must try!

The place is so perfect, ambient is lovely, bar is amazing food is soooo delicious you can never have enough and the staff is so friendly. A small inconvenient that it is so congested, tables are very near and it is always full you cant enjoy the music. LOTS of People always waiting at the entrance looking at you to finish 😅

Very rude receptionists and overall lousy service. Even though we booked the table two days in advance, we were asked to wait for the table to be ready! Not sure what is the point of booking! And it is not like I waited somewhere decent; I literally had to stand in the way of people coming in and out. After being seated, it was obviously a table jammed in a walking path! The waiters have to squeeze between the chairs and pump into me more than once. When I asked for another table out of the path, their response was “it is reserved,” as if I had just walked in. They changed the table eventually though. The food was good, although a bit cold. The service was nonexistent; they put the plates and ran as quickly as possible, and they were swift to ask whether you were finished with your food or not, to the point that it was too annoying. When I got out, a car was blocking my car, and the owner was obviously in the restaurant. I asked for their cooperation to ask who is the owner. The response of the manager was very rude and disrespectful. As if I was in the wrong, “I wouldnt bother my guests” when his guest is obviously bothering me and, not to forget, I was his guest literally 3 minutes ago! But I guess he already collected his money, so who cares. His response was to call the police! If he genuinely cares about his guest, a good host would rather deescalate the situation.The food is good, just order it to go. It is not like you will be served hot food anyway

Another first time! I want to thank the fine lady in the reception 🌷accommodating and considerate! We didn’t know we needed a reservation, am glad I often book in other restaurants so they have my name in the system! Impressive 🥰 So so! This place is jammed! Service is a 9!I loved the Risotto Funghi and the pizza! Pastas were not as great (my own Italian Chef kills it every time😍). In totality, food was nice, although the quantity isn’t much. Yet, affordable.

Not sure what all the hype is about !! The food was good however the guys at the reception gives you the impression that you are visiting Jules Cesar himself.They need to chill and realize its just pasta !!If you plan to visit make sure you book ahead, wait for confirmation (which you may never getand if you do, book an appointment with your stylist, hairdresser, and makeup artist before you attempt to enter the gate.Note: 3 stars is for the food. Overall experience 2stars maximum

If you call yourself “fine dining”, then with all due respect, you should act like it :)You have all the pillars to be one of the best places in Riyadh; great food and nice place. Yet, service needs improvement. You cannot ask people to leave because their “time is up” while they’re having dessert and standing over their heads waiting them to leave… that’s not the experience we should have in fine dining places.

The food is excellent and everyone at the table was very happy with their selections. I felt the service was a bit rushed, as starters, main courses, and dessert seemed to arrive in rapid succession, with some still on starters when others main courses were arriving.To their credit: the restaurant was absolutely packed and we always had a waiter at hand.As it was so busy the restaurant did get quite noisy, my only other comment.Definitely will return!

The service unfortunately is horrible. There was no enough waiters for each unit so no one actually served us our dishes, And we came on time 9:30 but they seated us at 9:57 !!! And there was no waiting area we were just standing near the wall :/ but the food was delicious specially the sea bass and the Tiramisu 😋

The food was average, and it was overpriced compared to its quality. Service is horrible. We reserved our table at 8 but had to wait till 8:15 bc the table wasn’t ready yet. After 1.5 hr they told us that we had to leave without notifying us while we made our reservation that they had changed the duration from 2hrs to 1.5 hr. They kept removing plates while we were eating and asking whether we finished this plate or not. They accidentally served us the truffle pizza instead of the truffle fries. They made a celebration of a birthday w our Tiramisu which we didn’t ask a celebration for? The music was too LOUD it was very annoying. Not worth visiting again.

San Carlo CicchettiThe restaurant which I used to recommend to whoever asked me about the best Italian restaurants in Riyadh.Came her with my family (a big groupto celebrate a special occasion.Let me first say thank you to the chefs who are cooking and preparing the most delicious Italian food in Riyadh.We were served by a lady that I unfortunately don’t have the name of but she was amazing, kind thanks to her.Coming to the part where the celebration should’ve happened. We ordered “Mantecato chocolate” which is a chocolate ice cream, we were surprised that they bought the plate (which had a candle and writing written onbefore the ice cream arrived then after it arrived no one served it!!Waited around 5-10 min and while waiting the candle & ice cream melted already.Asked for the manager to solve what happen but by his approach & attitude he actually made things worse.And unfortunately although they gave us a discount as a compensation it still doesn’t make up for the whole lunch & occasion being ruined.Thanks for letting us down today.

If i have the chance i would rate them zero but i will give this one stare to the manager because he is nice and polite.The restaurant is full of bugs kind of disgusting, i could not continue my food and i could not stay even.If you stay in front of the kitchen window you would see the bugs inside flying around your food while it is prepared.When i asked them why they didn’t solve this issue, they responded that they are waiting the management to act and fix it.I used to be almost daily customer but after today I am not coming back here.

Surprised why people were complaining about the music in their reviews. It was at an extremely acceptable level, and the playlist was really nice which added a much needed ambience to the atmosphere- which was one of the few redeeming qualities of my experience dining there. Without the music you would be overhearing other guests’ conversations, which might ruin the vibe. Really enjoyed the risotto (Italian saleegand the veal escalope. The staff were friendly and nothing stood out, but a part of me feels like they’ve been trained to deal with difficult costumers and I bet that takes it’s toll on them and they end up being forced to sacrifice their personality over time to remain professional. This unfortunately means that the experience is just the same experience you’ll have at a lot of average institutions that perhaps serve better food.Overall I don’t think the experience I had here resembles the one I had in London, it is quite different. The interior is on the smaller side and is lacking a lot in character. I also don’t think that I will be going back again, as nothing really stood out that much experience wise. It is a shame that great restaurants from abroad have to accommodate too much until they lose their originality whenever they open a franchise here in Riyadh.

Very expected great experience. We had the Lobster soup and caesar salad and they were yummy! And their passion fruit is the best in the city! Noel was so amazing, respectful, fast, and would definitely ask for him specifically again😂! +5 place!

I like the restaurant but always crowded which may affect the service. Nice for couples. I really loved the baby calamari and the fettuccine Alfredo

The food was great the waiter was so friendly we ordered a lot and he kept asking us it’s enough but we always wanted more to try everything. My fav restaurant In-terms of food and flavors so far I liked it even better than Mamo but the only down thing is that our table was by the kitchen door it was busy a lot of waiters coming in and out which effected the mood of my dinner

Well .. lets start : the review was re- reviewed on November 8th 2021 as the quality went down significantly .New update at the bottom.Location , one of old areas in Riyadh but still classy and good . Parking could be an issue .Reception : dry average but the issue is not the attitude , I came without a reservation and they didnt declare it clearly that they dont want to seat me Indore as I didnt have a reservation , asked me to wait for an unpredicted time not less than 45 min , despite it was early night middle of the week .We finally agreed to be seated outdoor and here we have the action ;For 30 min : no waiters , not plates , no glasses and nothing .We called one of the waiters ( white male and asked him if we can change the table to indoor for better service ,He said sure I will double check and come back to you .. then he just ignored us and went to another table .and never come back .We were extremely lucky that night .. a philippino waiter ( Mr Don don toke over the service of our table and we started our night ....He made me give 4 stars otherwise I was planing to give only 1 by just changing all the experience to ana amazing one .Food :Perfect , we had the octupus salad that was crazy good .Burata pitza was great too .Mr Don don suggested the truffle ravioli and it was great idea .Amalfi mojito and japanese mojito was good too .Dessert : we got the mount cristalia and was from another world .Prices : not bad at all compared to other italian restaurant in Riyadh , and for the food you are going to enjoy I think prices are really good .Would I come again ?I just made another booking for Friday lunch with family .Things I want to try again ?The dessert and to have Mr Don don again .---------November 8th 2021 ..Table service was zero .. help yourself is the new logo .We were not served at all , plates were placed on the table and you shall serve your guests .Tables were not clean enough, spotted and glass bottoms marks are clearly visible .Cleanliness was even worse, the drink glass was sticky at the holder from waiters hands .Tables didnt get cleaned from empty glasses or dishes till we asked for it , many many times .Service gets zero out of 10 this time unfortunately .Would I come back ?I will think twice before I comeWould I invite someone ?No .. never ... The place doesnt reflect a classy restaurant anymore .

We enjoy this restaurant. Been here serval times now. Great service, cheerful vibe, and very good food. The Bolognese pasta is outstanding, the chicken milanese, fish entrees, and simple rocket salad. Don’t miss their focaccia bread service!!!!

Im in love with this restaurant, i come here for special occasions all the time but the last visit had a couple of things.1- they asled if i wanted a special message for an anniversary i was celebrating and they didnt put it.2- I understand the dress code and how critical it is for the image of the restaurant and its customers but the reception didnt have to eye me out.The food was delicious as always but the servers took their time to come and grab our order.

love cicchetti I ve been here for friday family lunch, I expected and this is just as a great. beyond having andenjoying an amazing italain cusine here, I enjoyed the atmosphere of the restaurant design that is chic yet warm and inviting, even though I was expecting its not crowded in this fiery atmosphere during Friday afternoon but I surprised by that the restaurant is crowded and requires advance reservation I asked the so kind gentelwomen receptionist to put me in the queue if any. She apologized and said I will register your number and call you back. after less than five minutes passed, the receptionist called me and said my table is ready.I was very pleased as I was hungry and since most of their dishes are suitable for sharing, we ordered five dishes, all of which were very delicious, tasty, and presenred gently, but the restaurant needs to review thier menu price versus food portion which is a bit lettle for the menu price. The risotto zucca was served inside the fresh pumpkin. It was a wonderful and delicious choice for our child. The fried diavola shrimp served in a glass cup with spicy Calabrian sauce and french fries were the first dishes that arrived at our table and it was delicious. Then the tartufo pizza served with its delicious ingredients buffalo mozzarella, porcini mushroom, black truffle and rocca Topped with a thin slices of parmesan cheese and truffle oil. Finally, Veal Milanese a large, thin slice of fried veal with olive oil, garlic and rosemary, served with bone on top and I dont forget the refreshing mixed berry mojito, but it needs to increase mix volume and reduce ice cube and lemon. It was a lovely & awesome experience to have a family friday lunch out.The staff is friendly and helpful, the distribution of tables inside the restaurant needs to be reconsidered in terms of number and floor plan to ensure smoth walk way instead of passing via many tables , and I suggest that the external area should be taken advantage of, especially On the beveled side. and I think they need to enhance the resturant facade. I highly recomend it for romantic occasions, quick gathering, but be sure to make advance table reserve to Get ready to enjoy a fine Italian dining cussine experience

- Nice vibes. Great experience, however food is mostly average.- The cheese on the Pizza was below average.- berry mojito was awfully sweet.- Truffle taste in the burger was overwhelming.- Service is not prompt as expected in such place.- the tiramisu was so wrong. The texture is not original. Coffee taste was strong.- The crème brûlée was excellent.The music was so disturbing and noisy. We asked politely to turn it down a bit. And the reply was: “ we will see what can we do” really? I mean seriously?Staff are friendly and welcoming.

Small crowded restaurant, but it’s one of the best Italian restaurants in the town.DIAVOLA pizza is delicious 🍕🤤 it comes with tomato, mozzarella, spicy beef salame and fresh chili 🌶 . 10/10The SPAGHETTI ARAGOSTA from SPECIALS MENU is amazing 9/10 🍝 it is a lobster spaghetti with delicious tomato and garlic sauce 🦞It’s better to call and Book your table before you come.

Wonderful Authentic Italian restaurant.Food was absolutely delicious especially the Funghi Risotto 👌🏼👌🏼 Highly recommend you to try it. The portions are a bit small so consider ordering more dishes.The staff are very friendly and welcoming but service can be a bit slow and make sure you make reservations before going.

Exceeded my expectations!No exaggerating, everything was delicious!The starters, the pasti, risotto, rectangular pizza, and the tiramisu.The portions are somewhat small, but the idea is to enjoy food, not to add extra layers of belly fat.I give San Carlo my Fox 🦊 seal of approval.
