San Alberto Coffee - Cafe in Turbaco, Colombia
Nice coffee good atmosphere.
They werent lying about how amazing the coffee is. I dont think Ive ever had a better coffee anywhere. Service was friendly the shop was very clean and well kept. No issues at all. Thank you for the great experience.
As coffee lover, I visited this place to taste the coffee, that the place promove as the more awarded in Colombia. I found these things:1. The service was really slow. After looking around I found 5 servers, 1 cashier, and 1 barista. At this moment, I realized why the service was really bad, almost 30 min waiting for one coffee and one almond croissant.2. The almond croissant was really good. It remained me the almond and pistacho croissants at the Paul Bakery in London.3. The cofee was good, but enough good to be excellent. The Capuccino with Almond Gelato Bar was a good way of creation to compete with the Affogato.4. To avoid the traffic of people through the coffee shop, they have two heavy glass door to access in; however there is not air conditioning, and keep to large open "windows" beside some tables, through these windows the peddlers can access to sale their products to the tourists.5. It is not a cheap place in comparison with other local coffee shops.
Great coffee but they used disposable plastic cups for water, even though we sat in. Better for the environment to use glass!
When I travel abroad I try to stop in and have a cup + 2 pkgs to go the guave pastries are excellent, nothing like fresh roasted coffee that awakens the senses.
Great coffee, we had a cold coffee and a cold brew, they were both amazing, complex and service was great!!!
One of my favorite coffee shops in Cartagena. My go to is the cappuccino.
The coffee really tastes great, not surprised it’s one of the most awarded in colombia
Great coffee and cakes. Try the Syphon coffee if you can!
Nice place to sit for a coffee. Very long waiting time though once you order, so might consider another place if you have not a lot of patience.
Good coffee and better people working . Great guy and friendly service .
To be honest, it was a disappointment. Our guide recommended us the place, do we decided to give it a shot.We like strong coffee, my partner had a syphone one, and it was very mild, my "paraíso" wasnt impressive either. The worst is that we had to wait for an hour for our coffees and then 15 minutes to pay, the place is overcrowded, thats the problem. The staff, however, was very pleasant.
The coffee is excellent prices ok averageThe guys are slow news a lot of improvement other than that the coffee is great. The best
Very hard to schedule a try out session where they give you a try of coffee prepared three different ways. The cafe itself is good and personal can talk in English.Whoever is on whats up gave us contradictive information to that which we got from visiting a place in person.
Good place for a coffee overlooking the square
Good coffee and cozy seatingCoffee is great straight from the estate
Good location, coffee nothing special and service terrible. Almond croissant very nice. Though could have made a batch of them ourselves by the time it arrived! Probably a good place originally but is a now a tourist trap. Looks alluring but you should walk on.
I was seated immediately and greeted with a smile. Coffee is delicious and decor is nice. The owner even came to me despite it being very bust to ask me if I liked the service. Then he began to explain their growing and process of the coffee beans.
Very misleading menu. Thought they will make the coffee in front of you. But instead I got this small cup of cold brew for 4 dollars. And it taste just like Starbucks
I went twice to the one that is in the Plaza Santo Domingo, nice place and well decorated. I ordered a cappuccino and a iced latte and both were poor prepared, not good enough to be an award-winning place. Iced latte didnt taste well.My plan was work from there with my laptop for 1-2 hours, however there is no wifi in this place, I had to use my mobile data. And if you stay more than one hour then they start asking if you need something else, making you feel as not welcomed. A bit rude from my opinion because I took a seat in the bar, its not a crowded place and has a lot of seats for the people.
One of the most expensive cappuccino in all of Colombia! Nothing like the beautiful San Alberto in Bogota. No wifi or phone signal unfortunately. Icy air con.
We were given this recommendation to purchase coffee here from a friend. When we arrived at their main location, they were having a private tasting and the store was closed. An employee came over to tell us what was going on, they told me that they have another location around the corner. We went around the corner and found the location. It is a super small shop with one person working. We got some bags of coffee to take home with us. They had the ground coffee and they also had the beans. There was no price on the coffee bags so we just kind of had to trust that the conversion she did on the calculator to dollars was correct. It was a little more expensive than we were anticipating. When we got home, we brewed a pot of the beans bag, and it smelled amazing, and the taste was very flavorful.
No cold brew available, therefore I ordered iced black coffee. It was ok but not special.
This place is wonderful. They reached me how to prepare the coffee. I was sitting on a window looking the church and the view is amazing… the time was stopped.
Delicious latte with froth made into a shape. Very aesthetically pleasing. The cake was heavenly and the ambiance is nothing short of peaceful. Very recommended!
Great coffee if youre not in a rush.
Very nice coffee shop located in front of plaza. Had a nice cappuccino and almond croisant. Service was ok and the waitress even gave me a lesson in the life of a bean the way this estate handles the process. Cant wait to grind and pull some espresso shots when i get home.
Most delightful coffee and great barista experienceThis is definitely the place for high quality coffee lovers. Apart from the delicious coffee there is an entire menu to treat yourself with a lovely view of the beautiful sights of the city
Nice decor and good ambient music. One cannot order at the counter so, there is among wait at the table. Although there is a strong wifi network they give you excuses to avoid giving you the password. We wanted sugar on our coffee and when it finally arrived the espresso was already cold. The coffee tasted about the same at any Juan Valdez store.
Looking for coffee in Cartagena.. look no further. This award winning coffee is something special. Have a seat inside the cafe and after the first sip you’ll feel like you went to heaven. Almond croissant is excellent too.
My tour guide recommend that I take some of this coffee with me for souvenirs for myself and to give as gifts. So I came back and bought 4 bags for like 180k COP to go before I went back home, which I thought was extremely pricey for some coffee... Thats over $10 USD per bag! The smell and taste of the coffee was amazing and the packaging is very nice and comes with a scooper. They even ground the coffee and resealed the bag for me. My main complaint is that as a coffee drinker, their strongest coffee is only a medium roast coffee and for over $10 USD per bag, I need something much stronger than that to get me going in the morning. Once I got back to the US, I had to mix it with darker roast coffees to get a good kick because it was very weak to me. So it ended up being very pricey and not really worthwhile for me in the end. But I would still recommend it for the experience as the cafe is very nice and located in a lively square.
Amazing place to have your coffee! The staff are All friendly and for someone who is not a native Spanish speaker, the staff are very good in communicating in English. The atmosphere is very inviting and food is delicious (specially the croissants).
Small coffee shop with about 10 tables squeezed close together so doesnt make seating too comfortable. There is a mezzanine/loft with 4 tables if you want to sit on top. That said, the coffee is delicious, high quality, and display of various brew methods seem like they know what theyre doing. They do sell their roasted beans in bags. Pastries available. A/C.
Very nice environment, when I arrived the WiFi wasn’t working however the staffs are very helpful.Amazing coffee , i think they also have lessons for group, good location so you can always take a rest here or even take out, not so much options for the food wise. Can be quite busy but tables turn fast.Recommended
This hidden gem was only enjoyed due to our local driver bringing us here. Simply the best tasting iced coffee EVER! That first sip takes your breath away. Walked away with bags of coffee for all my friends back home.
Small and cozy coffee shop with 2 floors. Typical coffee shop selection with cakes and other desserts which were excellent. Capuccino was well prepared, good temperature, milk texture looked nice although a little too air. The espresso was good, well balanced although a little light for my personal taste.
Probably the best coffee that I had while visiting Cartagena. The barista was very friendly and spoke English. He was able to provide a lot of details regarding the coffee from farm to cup. I ordered a coffee prepared using the siphon method and bought 2 bags to bring home from vacation.
Local favorite for specialty coffee (as opposed to the ubiquitous Juan Valdez Cafe). The cold brew is quite good.
Nice little place air conditioned. Nice coffee and little pricey depending on what you choose. It was recommended by the free tour guide. 🤪
This small 2 story cafe is excellent. Several coffee options are offered from cold brew, pour over, press, americano, etc. The server took his time to tell us about the coffee and farm itself. He demonstrated the pour over and press process to us. He also spoke English to us. There are a few quick food options here as well. Free Wi-Fi is also available here. My friends bought several bags of coffee here and brought them back to the US. They also seal the bags of coffee to preserve freshness.
Fantastic coffee experience with knowledgeable baristas that offer many ways to prepare your coffee - always fresh. Had both filter and Siphon and also bought beans to make at home.
Very delicious coffee and expertly made. It can be made in any way you like it. Brewed, espresso, French press, and many other possibilities.
Excellent place to drink an excellent coffee similar to the one from buena vista Quindío. Different techniques of preparation. All of them very tasty. It’s a unique flavor. Fruity and robust!
We were looking for a nice coffee spot with good local coffee and we stumbled into this place. To our delight, it was not only great local coffee but they make it with 5 different artizanal methods from cold brew to full on chemistry lab beakers and burners. In the end we had a bit of each to try and the sifon de vacio was out favorite. Highly recommend this place!
The service was great, they even played music from our country as soon they found out from we were. A lovely touch to our experience. The café is unique and has many awards towards the years. Certainly a must go.
Delicious coffee and fast and friendly service! Totally different taste of the coffee... you can tell that it is good quality. European prices but totally worth it!
Simple, clean. The coffee is good. The servings size is a little small. They have so many bags of coffee for sale that I question if they are fresh or not.
Coffee is delicious and the baristas have plenty of suggestions for what to try. We stopped here under the advisement of some coffee snob friends and were not disappointed. There are bags of coffee available for purchase and we bought several for friends and family (~$14USD/bag)
I ordered latte frio in a hot hot hot day. I expected the coffee will be at least cold even not freezing cold, but it was warm. Disappointed. It didn’t worth for the price! And the taste was just OK nothing special. No WiFi. I also saw the male staff took pictures of a male customer on the sneak while I sat by the door and drank my warm latte.
Great espresso and snacks. Friendly service. Yum!
