Buzzing spot with samurai-themed artworks and vibrant decor, selling teppanyaki dishes and sake.
Loved this tepanyaki bar. Great options to choose from. Nice drinks menu to compliment the meals. Great experience all round.
Quality of food and service was amazing. Would recommend Nimo Mori in your booking reservation as your chef for the night. His attention to detail in presentation and way of explaining what you are eating in front of you is spectacular. Please ensure you request the Cherry Blossom Sakura icecream as your dessert, which is also his creation - perfectly balanced in terms of all flavour profiles and ensure you have his fave salts when eating the meats (matcha lemon salt and lava salt).Thank you Nimo for such a great experience x
An emotional meal.Sublime experience. Not cheap, but oh my god amazing.Great service and next, next level food. The Kobe beef was unbelievably good. Simple food done to perfection.
Had a wonderful time last year celebrating Mothers Day for 2 mothers. From the moment we step into the restaurant, the owner did a show and tell about the meat from the get go to get us into the mood of experiencing Teppanyaki. Really enjoy it when the owner is passionate about his food and art of cooking. The food quality and taste was amazing. Best Teppanyaki I ever tasted !!! The chef also keep us entertained and explained everything to us step by step in the cooking process. You can see that the chef was qenuinely proud of his craft and tried his best to serve us the best possible meal ever. The other staff was attentive to the whole family as well. It was like watching a show.. what an experience!!! 6 STARS food and service. Cant wait to go back for round 2.
Amazing Food! Nimo Mori was an Amazing Chef. The whole experience was very authentic Japanese. Highly recommend. We even received a beautiful gift for our Anniversary. Such a nice touch! Thank you guys
Great food, nice interior, our chef William was lovely. Amazing experience all around :)
Samurai Teppenyaki House is located not far from the CBD, serving a set menu with upgrade options for the seafood and wagyu courses. What sets them apart from the other teppanyaki restaurants is the wide range of Japanese A5 wagyu that they offer. Dined here twice and both were great experience watching Chef Nimo skillfully cook the food with precision. All the dishes were delicious; highlight was the Japanese wagyu of course. Also very friendly and accommodating service from Chef Nimo throughout the dining experience; very helpful with explaining the differences between the different wagyu breeds. Would recommend the Kobe beef tasting banquet if you never had a high marble Japanese wagyu, so you can compare side by side with a less marble Australian wagyu.
Look I wont lie to you, this place is expensive. However, if you want to go to what is possibly the most unique restaurant in Adelaide, this is the place to go. If you want to spoil someone or just do something different this is the place to go.
The restaurant has a very high standard for meat selection and all the meat they used had premium quality. The chef was very dedicated and passionate about cooking. She was trying to give us the best presentation. Only downside is the portion.
Lobster, Kobe Wagyu and full-blood Wagyu all overcooked. Full-blood Wagyu is not fresh. Bad service and experience, not worth over $500 for two.
Really enjoyed the food the chef was great. The waiting staff were perhaps in need of More training. They couldnt pour a beer and were slightly inattentive.Overall though still deserves the rating.
Just walked by and attracted by the decorations last week. We didn’t make any bookings and luckily they were not busy on that night. My husband and I were a bit excited. After we came in, the door was locked and there was a man simply introduced the different kinds of beef they had in house. Then the waiter lead us to sit down in front of the chef. The chef is very skillful and humorous. The food was absolutely amazing, especially the foie gras and chocolate beef!!! It’s so yum with the homemade matcha lemon salt. I would like to buy some if it’s for sale!!!! You should try the other kinds of salt though, interesting! The waiters are also very friendly and attentive. Very satisfied and will definitely come back🥰
Last nights dinner was beautiful. The kobe beef was fantastic (a must try). The wait staff were very attentive. Only thing that let this restaurant down just a little was we were make to wait outside in the cold because we arrived a little early. There were plenty of empty seats inside that were not used the whole night that we could have sat to wait for our table to be ready.Definitely could not fault the food and will go back again.
Omg this place is amazing, beautiful experience. highly recommend , thankyou for the experience, complements to the chef 😊
Impeccable service, top shelf quality, courteous and professional staff, and of course fantastic authentic Japanese cuisine. Hands down easy to see why they are one of only two restaurants in Australia to hold the official licence and certification for the serving of Kobe Beef. A must-go for any lover of fine dining!
Definitely wont recommend this restaurant to anyone. Chefs attitude was terrible. Expressed visible surprise to my choice of menu, and very unprofessional services to me. Very undetailed explanation of food to me, had to listen to his VERY DETAILED explanation to the ladies next to me to know what Im actually eating. Terrible experience. Will never go again or recommend to anyone.
From the very start to the end of the evening, tonights night at Samurai was absolutely perfect. Our Chef (Nimo Moriwas exceptionally talented and impressive to watch whilst he cooked our courses. He was attentive to our questions and was very engaging. The food, staff and atmosphere was nothing but perfection. Everyone was working very hard to make sure that we had an amazing night.
Definitely made the night special for my partners birthday and the foods amazing 👏 😋
Thankyou so much for an amazing night. The meals were delicious, the staff was amazing, drinks were delicious also. Atmosphere was amazing and the experience was something else. My partner and I will be back thankyou so much.
That was my first experience of teppanyaki. The service was excellent, and the chef was very friendly and professional! I definitely will come back next time.
Amazing food very professional and welcoming we will be coming back again 😀
Overall a great dine-in experience. Easily the best beef Ive ever had. The chef provide some insight to the beef. Wait staffs are attentive and polite. Same goes for the chef. Thanks to the waitress that sort the birthday dessert and even sing with us.However, probably the staff need to communicate a bit more to the customer and between themselves. We got asked for our drink order 3 times by 3 different wait staffs in under 2 minutes.Even though the chef is polite, he didnt really talk to us anything other than the beef and the food about to be served which lead to some confusion. Should have told us that he would serve both table at the same time. The family sitting next to us came in after us and have children. So we have to wait for them to order, their kid banquet to be served then we start to get our food. Quite a wait without any explaination. At least the chef polite enough to say sorry to us.I work in a restaurant as well so I understand most of the charges is necessary during this covid tough time. But 10% surcharge on Sunday and $12 for a still water are rather steep.Still an amazing experience. Im looking forward to the next visit. Highly recommended.
Birthday dinner in Samurai last year. The food quality is great, wide range of food to choose from. The chef was friendly and professional. Love the introduction and presentation before dining. The environment was amazing, feel like in Japan. The meal price is relatively higher, around $150-200/pp but glad to see the restaurant is trying to offer unique and exclusive experience for its customer in Adelaide👍🏻
Good food, like that everything is explained. bit pricey meal tho! But out chef for the night was really good! :)
Its an incredible restaurant! The chef is so friendly and lovely!! The food was all delicious too! They gave me an unforgettable and amazing birthday dinner experience. I will definitely visit this restaurant again. Highly recommended!!
Two words:SIMPLY AMAZING. I thought Shiki was good this place is mind blowing. Service , food quality, drinks selection. Too spoilt. What a bucket list experience. Best Teppanyaki experience in SA hands done.Dean and all the staff were 200% amazing!!!Entrance procedure felt like I was entering “Squid Game” best ever!!!
Spectacular food and such an experience. The sheer precision of the chef as he prepares your meal right before your eyes is riveting.
The whole experience was very pleasant and personal with 1 chef attending to 7 of us. Chef Sky was really entertaining and not to mention his culinary skills was great, cooking our seafood and beef to perfection. And we had a lovely couple sitting next to us as well, which make the whole experience even more enjoyable.
The whole experience was excellent. We had the Kobe beef banquet and even though it may appear expensive, the quality of every ingredient used was top notch and cooked perfectly. Could not fault our dinner.
I was not prepared for the experience at Samurai Tappenyaki House. From the door to the table everything felt personally crafted to give you the most informed (and deliciousexperience. Before the night was over, my wife and I were already planning when we could visit next. The food was freshly cooked and the chefs were more than happy to accommodate changes for preference and dietary requirements.Definitely an experience locals and travellers should seek out; although expect you pay for the quality of the ingredients and the service you get.
It was EXCELLENT.I ordered the Kobe beef tasting. The Kobe beef was absolutely fantastic. Every course was prepared perfectly. The chefs as well as the waiting staffs are very professional. It was a very enjoyable 10th anniversary for me and my partner.Special thanks to Chef Nimo Mori attending us today.
My first teppanyaki experience and I was not disappointed it was fantastic. The steak was exquisite. The service was very friendly and informative of the types of steak and where they were from. The only let down to a great night was the surcharge for Sunday an public holidays 10% is a very steep price on an already expensive meal. Perhaps 2.5%?
A good place for special occasions. Meats are amazing, the chef is very polite with experienced skills. The cocktail glass is sooo cute and I really like it. A small advise is that sometimes ‘we can talk about it together’ will be more easier to accept than ‘we definitely double checked everything and we couldn’t be wrong’. Miscommunications are quite normal and we totally understand it, but a nice way to talk to customer will make both side happier. Anyway, it’s a good restaurant and we will definitely recommend to our friends and go again. Hope your business getting better:)
Amazing opportunity to try authentic Kobe beef plus other high quality wagyu beef cuts. It’s the only restaurant with Kobe beef licence so the price is expensive but totally worth a try at least once! The meat melts in your mouth and it just taste like the best beef you’ve ever tasted.. it’s a splurge for adults for sure. They let one booking in at a time so ring the bell on the front door and wait. They bring you into a waiting area then again into a room where they introduce you to the different beef cuts available that you can try.The chef could speak more about the food but he was very quiet though on the flip side the wait g staff service is phenomenal. Every single dish was delicious so sit back and enjoy the food course with some fine Japanese sake or wine!
A dining experience well worth having. Beautiful food, excellent service. The "full blood" beef, produced in mt Gambia was amazing, texture and flavor I have not had before,
We visited here last night as a late surprise birthday dinner. I can say that the whole experience from start to finish was phenomenal! Customer service was exceptional and the food was so flavourful and delicious! We really enjoyed the short debrief at the start of the night which introduced us to the different types of Waygu beef offered. We had the pleasure of being served by Chef Nimo who was an absolute delight to watch cook! We appreciate all the efforts by Nimo to ensure that our food was top-notch! as well as get to know us better as individuals. He did a wonderful job of everything!I can certainly say that the price is worth it and I will definitely be coming back in future! Thank you to the team at Samurai Tepanyaki House!
Experience was amazing. 1st wonderful dining experience. Food was so tasty and total environment was so peaceful... My husband and I loved it.
Amazing dining experience! Staffs are friendly and helpful. The food tastes great! Kid-friendly.
First time experience at Samurai Teppanyaki House for my partners Birthday. Very well treated from the front door until finished. We felt like VIP all night! All of food courses were fantastic, well presented and very tasty served by Chef Dean. He was nice, funny and honest. We would like to recommend for those who are looking for special place to spend with your special one(s), this is the place! We will be back for sure have not try others wagyu yet. Keep up all the great service guys. Very impressed. Thank you
Amazing experience from beginning to end. My partner and I felt like we were back in Japan. To enter the restaurant, you have to press on a doorbell. A worker opens the door for you into a small room where you wait to enter the next room. The second room displays all the pieces of beef behind a glass window, and the worker talks through what your beef options are for the day. The third and final room is the dining room. I was lucky to be seated in the centre, right in front of the hotplate with a front view of the chef. Our chef was Nimo, whos from Kyoto, Japan. He was super friendly and we talked about his hometown, background etc. I had the Samurai Feast for $89, and paid extra for the A5 Wagyu for the 4th course. My partner had the meat only menu (as he doesnt eat seafoodfor the same price. Every course was absolutely amazing and of course the A5 Wagyu was melt in your mouth tender! Everything was cooked to perfection and we were sad when it was all over. It was a five star experience and I would highly recommend anyone who loves their beef to come here for an authentic Japanese experience.
We had an absolutely exquisite evening at Samurai teppanyaki and I must say it is the best teppanyaki restaurant in Adelaide. From the moment you step inside, you know you’re in for a treat. After a personalised welcome, you step into the cooler room where various cuts of meat on offer are on display. One of the chefs will kindly explain to you the various cuts and where they are sourced from.Inside, the teppanyaki is a cosy affair with your own chef standing directly in front of you to cook and chat as they cook. The food was absolutely amazing. Staff go above and beyond. Highly recommended!
Excellent food quality. Decent and fresh. Really Liked the birthday surprise by the staff...
Amazing food, exceptional service. Highly recommend Samurai if you are after teppanyaki in Adelaide. Staff was great. A bit pricey so not an experience you can have regularly but well worth a visit.
Delicious food, beautiful looking drinks, very friendly staff :loved it. Not the kind of thing I will redo but I only because it was a bit outside of my budget. But the food was absolutely exceptional. My only beef (pun intendedwith the place was being charged 20$ for water and GST extra on food.
This place has amazing, melt in your mouth food. The staff here are very friendly and love to have a quick chat. The view of cooking the food just makes you more and more hungry. I would highly recommend this place and cant wait to come back.
Thanks again Jack and Dean for making our daughters birthday perfect - her favourite place!! What an amazing place! It is more than just delicious food, but an experience in itself. Came with two children and they loved the food as well as the spectacle. Great service too, can’t recommend highly enough. Pretty much any dish you can’t go wrong!
An enjoyable Teppanyaki experience in the heart of Hyde Park.A delightful venue with friendly staff and delicious food.We were seated close to the chef so could clearly see our food getting prepared and the immense attention always makes for good conversation. Its always amusing seeing the flames shoot up from the hotplate when the special sauces are added! The only downside was cost. I felt the venue was somewhat pricey for the serving sizes. The cheapest banquet is $59 for 3 small servings of meat (lamb, beef and chicken), plus a fried rice with a small ice cream for dessert. The larger banquets start at $79. For two people with drinks, youll easily get to $200.
Wow! If you have not been here, it is a must! Excellent customer service and the teppanyaki experience was fantastic. I will definitely be returning here. The food was amazing, we did choose the 11 course banquet and was absolutely delicious. Thank you for such a wonderful evening.
The best teppanyaki restaurant in Adelaide!wonderful food and great service, also this is the first time Ive seen the dessert was cooked on hotplate, thats so amazing!
Amazing food!!!! Everything was cooked so well with flavours that really worked.Would 100% go back again, BEST Teppanyaki in Adelaide.
