Sam Kullman’s Diner Kaiserslautern - American restaurant in Kaiserslautern, Germany
Waited 15 minutes to order… only 3 of us there and somehow my food never showed up to the table. I had to sit there while everyone else got to eat their food.Once we were ready to pay, they all of a sudden try to bring out the food after blaming the kitchen for forgetting my meal. —and tried charging me half price for it!Seriously ridiculous. Not the best service and definitely not wasting my time to go back.Really disappointed that everyone else in our seating area got their food but I never did.
Great portions for all the food order!! Mega burgers! Everything i would expect from an American diner!!! Hospitable service and very speedy! But will not seat you even if half the restaurant is empty.
It feels like i’m in USA lolGonna come here again for sure, i didn’t have a chance to try their pancake.the atmosphere there was good and the waitresses were also nice. Anyway the foods 👍
Classic american diner, fun atmosphere. Nice staff and delicious burgers. We had the roadside burgers and sweet potatoe fries. Super quick food order and arrival at our table. We were quite surprised, I guess they were well prepared for the many visitors. Will be back for sure!
The food was okay, specially for kids. However I was annoyed that about half the menu comes with coleslaw. Which I dont like. When I asked to substitute that for the Gurkensalat (same price), they told me no, I would have to pay extra. Why do I have to pay for a side item I dont like just to get a burger?
Ive been here once for breakfast and everything was great. Food was tasty and the service on point. Definitely worth a try
Today was not so good at breakfast. Only one waitress on duty. Took more than 10 minutes before we got coffee. Cold syrup. Omelette over cooked and dry. Cold bacon and pancakes. 30 minutes before our order came. Had lunch here a few times and great burgers and spareribs. Fries among the best and ketchup bottles on the table. Anyway, breakfast today was not good.🤷🏼♂️👎
Chicken wings the bomb.....so delicious. The waiter awesome, friendly, professional. This time we had Saturday lunch....the time before Breakfast plate....enough for two people and also delicious.
Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Was very disappointed when they would not let me take out one night even tho i had several times before. Boycotted it the rest of my trip. If you eat in, great. Do not expect to take out
Great food all around! We got the Kullmans Breakfast Platter and it was delicious! Enough food for 2-3 people! Definitely coming back for more!
The best place I have found in Kaiserslautern!! Food is excellent, its a great place to hang out with family & friend. As American were used to the service been faster but the waitress were good.
It was nice but nothing special. Our server wasnt very attentive I had to ask 4 times for a box before ultimately going inside and asking for one there but maybe it was because we were dining outside. The lemonades were awesome. The steak was cooked perfectly but was NOT seasoned at all it definitely needed the onion jam but maybe that is something I have to get used to as an American in Germany. Would not dine here again but it is nice to say I tried.
Absolutely awesome place to eat, the ribs are fantastic, the servers are efficient and friendly.
Good American diner with a huge parking facility. Not expensive.
Very good place. Very good parking place. Very nice food. We are really enjoy the meal 🥘 Super 👍
A couple of years ago, I thought this place was great. Lately (the last couple of months), Ive been there 4 times, one of which, I didnt even eat. The service was really bad. We walked in the door and stood there for several minutes. Three waitresses walked by and gave my date and I looks that said "Ugh! Customers...." without actually saying anything out loud to us. Finally, we decided to walk out.The other three times we did eat and, only one of those times, did we think the food was really nice (breakfast).
Very goog American styled diner. Friendly waiter and the food is perfect.
Food was great service was great but on one of the hottest days in Germany the pitcher of tea was warm as for the ice melted right away and the restaurant was just as hot inside as outside, A/C would have been nice. Will come back when its not sooo hot.
Nice staff, good ambient, nachos are great... Good place to take a rest...Recommend
Food was average at best. Coleslaw was supposed to be included with our food; that is, one pays for it. After asking for it, since it was not included when the food was brought, we were nonchalantly told that already yesterday there was none available. At least one should receive a small salad as compensation. This is a poor business practice. I would not recommend this diner.
We shared the all you can eat wings and the radio city burger. Both were excellent. This is a must stop for American style eats.
Waited an hour for food when it wasn’t busy. This is the only restaurant I’ve been to in my life where I stopped eating because it was so bland and flavorless. I’ve had better food at gas stations.
The diner is nice. We went for brunch today to try it out. I ordered two orders of eggs and 4 pancakes wife ordered an omlete it took an hour to recieve our food. I only recieved one order of eggs and pancakes. And didnt even get the sides that would normally come with it. The cappuccino we ordered were only half filled on a normal mug. Still got charged for all items even though we didnt receive the items. Bacon in wifes omlete was undercooked. Had a rough time.
The burger and french toast tasted good... but the flies inside were quite annoying & off-putting. The waitress didnt show us a receipt and after looking at the menu in the car, realized she overcharged us. We went back and found out she charged us for the food of another table.
The big American diner feeling is somewhat a lie. All tables were full, so I tried to sit at one of the stools around the bar. Given that I was alone, I figured this actually makes sense (as opposed to occupying an entire table). Apparently, you cant sit on a stool because there is nobody to serve you there. Why have the stools then?
Today we picked up Our Dinner,it was NOT good at all . We had burned Ribs, couldnt even eat it, salty coleslow, overcooked onion rings and nasty fries. This Was Our 2nd time and both Times we had take out. Food went to trasch. Never again.
We sat ourselves outside, gentlemen came out really quick super friendly , took our order, food came out at a great time and it was all delicious. Favorite part for us was that they serve breakfast until noon!! The orange juice was a little watered down and the ice coffee was luke warm definitely not ice. But, we cant wait to go back and try it out for lunch or breakfast again!Credit card was accepted and all spoke English.
Highly recommended! It was busy but we didn’t have to wait so long to get our food. Friendly staff. I had the pepper crunch ribs which were extremely good and my husband had the cheeseburger. Delicious 😋
Went there for breakfast and the food was delicious with fast service. Decided to give it a try it again for early dinner because we can’t get a table for dinner time. Please remember to reserve a table before you go so that you don’t waste your time waiting. Service was very slow, it took almost 30 minutes. Ordered a cheeseburger and it taste rather plain. They also take Amex as payment.
Amazing service every time! I have never had a bad experience. Good is delicious. Food is served fast.
ordered a medium rare steak and it came out well done. This place is simply mediocre when it comes to breakfast. The portion’s feel like they don’t match the price.
Food was pretty good, but the service was terrible. The server “Diana” was a terrible waitress. I’m pretty sure she stole from me as well since she didn’t let me see my receipt and just gave me the card reader. I definitely didn’t order enough food to be charged as much as I did. But I was done with the restaurant and didn’t care to deal with it. If she really had to steal from me on Easter than she can consider it a gift lol
Breakfast service ends too early, especially on the weekends. Not enough wait staff, service was very slow. Burgers are tough. Milkshakes are good. Salad was so overdressed it was inedible. 40 euro for 2 burgers, coffee, coke and milkshake is a lot.
I’ve come here plenty of times and it’s always such a nice experience. Their breakfast platters are perfect and the ribs are fall of the bone good. The burgers too, on point. I especially love the sweet potato fries! The drinks are always fun to try out. I’ve come here with friends, with my kids- they even have coloring pages to keep kiddos entertained.Today we tried their Magojito and it tasted so good. All around great place to stop by anytime of day.
We loved the diner vibe, our waiter was great!!! We ordered the ribs & wing platter & it was delicious big portions😋 Plenty of leftovers…
Enjoyed the “American” diner feel. We had breakfast here and ordered the breakfast platter to share between two people. Would come back again.
I feel really really bad for the waitresses here because they’re so understaffed and overworked. Both sides of the diner were completely full when I came in, and this was like early in the afternoon and our waitress was waiting every single table on our side and she was still trying to make time to get us everything that we needed and her service was outstanding. The food though was pretty mediocre. The burgers were OK, and it was OK food for a diner. It wasn’t the best but also with how busy they are I’m not surprised that it wasn’t very good quality because they’re just swamped.
We got take-away for two people. The burgers and the fries were tasty. Unfortunately they forgot one side we ordered as well as one of the included coleslaws, which wasnt really a pity though because the coleslaw tasted awful. Overall I wouldnt order there again anytime soon.
Excellent little slice of America in the middle of Kaiserslautern. Americans will enjoy the burgers, shakes, sandwiches, and fries. There’s more refined fare like steaks and salads. Also, there’s schnitzel and good German breakfast available. Prices are reasonable and the wait staff speaks both English and German. Kid friendly! We took our 3 small kids, and they were given a bucket of crayons and coloring books. There’s ambient noise, so if little ones get restless, it’s ok. The decorations are true to the 1950s. Highly recommend!
Great option for an American style breakfast! They accept card or cash, the facility is clean and the portions are more than generous, as you can see.
This place atmosphere is great! Ive always loved the old time diner vibes and this place hits the nail on the head! Staff are very friendly. There is a wide variety of foods youd think to find in a diner, ranging from burgers to schnitzel. The burger I got was the Irish Eggs Burger and it was fantastic! The presentation of the food was great also! Definitely recommend coming here to get a blast from the past and eat a dang good burger 🍔!
Had some fries, sandwich, pulled pork and milkshakes. Food was good. Waiters were friendly. Overall good place to visit
Visited recently, dont forget to make a reservation. We showed our vaccine cards upon arrival. The wait for food was a while, but they warned us that they were fully booked. Drink and appetizer service was quick so we enjoyed sitting at a restaurant! Ordered the Radio city burger, it was good! We had the nachos for an appetizer, it was a bit greasy but still good.
Nice menu selections for food and drinks. Plently of free parking and lots of seating inside with Air Conditioner. Outside seating also avail. No reservation needed but be ready to wait upto 45mins to get your food once you order. Not a good place to go if you are in a hurry. English speaking staff and menu. I rated 4 stars and not 5 because of the really long wait, had an empty beer glass for 20mins and was never asked if i wanted another drink, and prices are a little high. I will come again.
I really enjoyed the stay at this very authentic tic American diner. Food was great as well as the staff! Good choice of burgers wings and ribs! I will come again for sure!
I was pretty impressed for my first visit to this restaurant. It’s the closest you will get to an American diner. The staff was very friendly and the food was good. I had their double burger lunch special and well worth the price for the size of the serving. My friend had a strawberry shake and highly recommends it.
Great food, fantastic burgers and cheesy fries. Also there Milkshakes are delicious and home made. Combined with the 50s diner atmosphere a great place to go to eat and hang out with friends!
Very nice food but a little bit pricey. They really should do something about the cleanliness, they had mold on the drop down ceiling tiles and flies flying around everywhere (solvable with UV zapper devices)But the absolutely redicilous thing is that they dont have Coka Cola!! They have coke ads and propaganda all over the walls but serve discusting and flat Afri Cola which just about no other restaurant I know of serve. Its even more redicilous is that its an American styled diner and dont serve the national drink of the USA.Desert is good though :)
The food was really good and there was plenty of it. They also have vegetarian dishes and they were delicious. It looks like a fiftys diner and the staff was friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, and parking.
The only good thing about the place was that it looked nice and the servers were polite and nice. Besides that, it took almost an hour and a half after ordering for my guest and I to receive our food. When we did receive it. It still took them about anothe 10 minutes to bring my plate out after hers. This is unacceptable for wings and curly fries and a sandwich and salad. Most restaurants bring all the food out together. The food was hot and looked good but the wings were over cooked and curly fries undercooked. I also ordered dessert which was a brownie that also looked good but you can tell it was just warmed up in a microwave. The outside was warm and the inside was cold. I never wanted to spend a whole day in a restaurant. It was just a bad experience. Im unsure if it was just a bad day but others that came in well after us and was done eating before we even received our meals.
