Salt and Stone - Restaurant in Taipei, Taiwan
Salt & Stone bread was impeccably fresh, the lamb pasta was riveting & tender, while the roast chicken was succulent & mouth watering. When in Taipei, go to 4F in Taipei 101, sit down and enjoy the friendly customer service & scrumptious food at Salt & Stone! You can thank me NOW:)
The restaurant is very comfortable, with a lot of space and it is quite silent which makes dinning quite pleasant. The decor and service are very good. The menu has as vegetarian as well as meet options. From salad to pasta, desert, pizza, beverage as alcoholic as well as non alcoholic. Each person needs to order for a dish for 400 NTD as at least .10/10
Finally the warm and nice service come back to my fav restaurant!Quality food, friendly staffs and sweet service in a place with good vibes, highly recommended.- - -The third visit was a bit disappointing.Food was fine but service was not really satisfactory. While most staffs are nice and polite, 2 of the gentlemen seems quite impatient and impolite while we were waiting for our seats and ordering.I brought my friends here becuz I had good exp here. I really felt awkward to take friends here and be treated like this.- - -Nice pizza and latte in a decent place. Would like to come back soon and try some more items!
half chicken was tender and juicy. sourdough bread with mozzarella was a nice appetizer. ask and all a great place to dine
A favourite restaurant in Taipei! Reasonably priced for the location. Food is delicious! I especially love the bread basket with the butter, the roast chicken and the farmhouse pizza. Drinks are moreish too. Staff have always been very friendly. Definitely recommend booking though as usually very busy.
Inside Taipei101Delicate food.Fresh Authentic.Hand made pasta with diff flavors to choose from.Seafood steak and lamb are also available.Cinnamon roll are their signature along with daily fresh made bread and desserts.Lovely classy trendy dining space .Highly recommend 👌
Food is tasty. Place is very spacious with a relaxing ambience. Service is generally but can be a hit and miss at times. Slightly pricey.
Delicious , valuable and worth to try it again.
Slightly small portions. But everything was so delicious. For more @eatwith_pheebs
Came for the pizza which was good, but was really impressed with the Ravioli which became the star of the meal. Reasonably priced restaurant in an unreasonably priced location.
Food is decent however service requires improvement... Dishes ordered all were served in lightning speed, making it hard to actually enjoy them...
Fine dining food with reasonable price. Kind waiters/waitresses. Highly recommended!
This is my first time giving an one star comment to a restaurant.I had made a reservation for a Saturday lunch through phone call. But when we arrived at the restaurant, the reception said there’s no record for our reservation, therefore no table for us. We immediately asked if there’s any possibility to have a table if we waited on site. The reception answered since the waiting queue is long, if we waited we will reach last order time. And they will still cancel our table. The most that makes me angry is thatapparently the restaurant made a careless mistake, but the reception didn’t feel any sorry for what just happened. He just continued focus on there’s no record for our reservation. He even doesnt want to fixed the problem or provide any other solution. What he only did is leaving us with no lunch.I must said this is the worst service that I have ever experienced. Especially this restaurant is located at the most famous building in Taipei. I’m really disappointed. I will never go to Salt and Stone again. Of course, also never ever recommend it to my family or friends.
I ordered The Salt and a Killa Bees pizza. The drink was sour with salt around the rim. The pizza was just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and pepperoni.Very helpful and friendly staff. This place would be a nice spot to have an evening out with friends or on date.
I’ve been here twice already and I highly recommend. Both times I got the spicy honey pizza and the texture of the crust is just extraordinary. It’s very thin but still has enough chewiness to balance out the ingredients. I have to try another flavor next time.First time I went I got the lamb pasta and the burrata salad- both explode with flavor that is just enough to satisfy the taste buds but not overpowering. On my second visit I ordered the roast chicken which was made to perfection without additional seasoning- the simple lemon on the side was just enough to complement the wonderful cooking.Already have a reservation for next week booked!
Good food but overpriced and the upscale ambiance is uncomfortable given the food. Tried a couple pizzas and both were well made - ingredients and flavors are very good, crusts a crispy but too dense. We also tried a the butternut squash ravioli which oddly was filled with corn and didn’t match what we ordered (but also wasn’t something else on the menu?but was tasty regardless.Random side note, the bread costs 120 and the butter to go with it another 120 - both are tasty but charging 240 for this is simply bizarre. Sums up the place pretty well, good food that is unnecessarily expensive…
Good place went here primarily for the Sicilian style pizza. A great change from the Neapolitan style pizzas that dominate Taipei. Great taste only complaint about the pizza was that it took about 25 minutes to come out although it’s already made in the display window. It was also not heated and I had to send it back to be heated more. It still wasn’t hot but warm enough to eat. Also had the cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing which was overly sweet, and I’m American so for me to say something is overly sweet is almost a never in Taiwan. Wife had the lamb pasta which was good. High quality food and reasonable prices for being in 101. Overall, I will likely be coming back again.
Everything is extra ordinary except the tomato sauce with handmade pasta noodle!!!! Its hard n chewy! I havent tasted any handmade pasta noodle like this after I left Canada in 2005. This is a must order!
We took our one year old son and the staff couldnt have been more friendly to him. We loved the sourdough bread, chipotle chicken salad, and pizza for lunch. We will definitely be back.
The ambience is good. Casual and sleek like a high end Cheese Cake Factory. The pasta bolonaise and burrata tomatoes salad were quite good.
Ate there in April. The service and taste ain’t bad. The atmosphere quiet and clean. It’s best for couples to hang around there.
It’s a solid “good” in terms of food. Ambiance is great since it’s in the 101 building coupled with high ceilings so certainly got the wow factor to bring out of town guests for a nice casual dinner (or lunch).Update: I’m changing it to 5-star after a second visit. Their toast with burrata n tomato is delicious and so is their Sicilian pizza (the to-go menu). On side note, while noise isn’t a concern to bring kids, note they don’t have high chairs though. But plenty of space to park the stroller along your table.
Great food and service. Recommend the crispy chicken. Very nice eating atmosphere.
Great food. Spacious place. Nice customer service. Pepperoni pizza with a drizzle of chili oil and honey has always been my favorite! I would definitely come back for this Killa Bees pizza.
Very nicely designed restaurant located in the fourth floor of Taipei 101!We love the octopus salad, the steak and the Fabio pizza. The octopus salad is a serving for 2-3 ppl, taste was fresh with nice seasoning.Pizza Fabio has the ingredients of cheese, mushroom and onions, we totally love it, the pizza is crispy and deliciousThe steak has a little too much fat... but overall is a good dishThe walnut pie came up with cream and chocolate powder on the top, and they even provide a little candle for our friend who is celebrating her birthday. This staff was really friendly and very attentive , overall experience is excellent
Really wonderful Italian food, one of the best in Taipei. The restaurant atmosphere is very pleasant, the staff is friendly and attentive. The food was wonderful, with some simple but very well executed flavors and ideas. I especially enjoyed the chicken liver toast, it was excellent. The chipotle chicken salad was good too, but maybe had too many tortilla chips. The Killa Bees pizza had a nice twist on a traditonal diavola pizza, with a light thin crust. I really enjoyed their homemade ice cream as well, especially the cinammon one.Overall just a great restaurant, everything was very nicely prepared - had a very pleasant dining experience.
A modern lively Italian restaurant in Taipei 101. The place is quite spacious and the food is pretty nice! Would surely visit soon!
The food and the environment are great! The cocktail looks ordinary, but tastes nice.
The pasta was good too, but I seem to enjoy the baked goods way more.
Very yummy pizza and pasta. It is too bad that the kitchen is under renovation. Definitely will revisit for the roast chicken in the future!!!
Great ambience. Perfect place for a date or friends gathering. I enjoyed the spaghetti as much as their pizza. The Thai style steak salad was on point too. Try to make a reservation beforehand.
Aside from iffy service (always unfriendly at reception), everything works - nice setting and terrific chicken, steak salad and pizza (try the spicy killa bees). Beef rib is worth the weight. Also Appreciate how the minimum charge is 400 but all pastas are 360.
Cozy place with beautiful interior design! It locates in the 4th floor of Taipei 101 and right next to elevator and escalator. I came around 12 pm so there are still seats.Today I have a salad, pizza, Italian dumplings, and a rib steak shared by three of us.The pepperoni pizza feature with spicy honey is brilliant 👌 Though it might looks big, we finished it right after its served. The Italian corn dumplings is stunning as well. Not too sweet and smoothy. The sauce and the shrimp are the points. The rib steaks are great with or without the sauce. They make the skin crispy which add some extra flavor to it.Overall, I love it. Will definitely check it again 😊
Splendid interior and atmosphere, great food and beverage, reasonably priced. We ordered the sourdough bread, margarita pizza, and Thai Beef Salad. The pizza dough is exactly what I want, crispy but still have some density on the edges. However, the highlight of the meal is definitely that Thai Beef Salad. I thought the beef might be overcooked or dry. But it turned out to be so flavorful, tender, with the right amount of fat that brings out most of the beefiness. We also had the apple pie, that was pretty fine also. But I wish they can make the crust a bit more fluffy and creamy.Overall it was a great experience. I’ll definitely come here again!
Octopus salad was amazing. ravioli was a bit small. Dont forget to take their takeout pizza for 55ntd.
Casual decor, comfortable, but a bit noisy when full! Most servers were very friendly, with the exception of one. The burrata salad was excellent! Fresh burrata, sweet tomatoes, dranched in this delicious olive oil and vinegaratte dressing. The octopus salad was average. The Fabio pizza was quite good, thin crust, delicious sausage and cheese. The tomato sauce could be a bit more sour!
5 stars for the food — great pizza, pasta, sour bread and dessert. 3 star for the service — lots of staffs walking around but our pasta got delayed for almost an hour. Their explanation was they were waiting for us finishing the dishes on the table. They could’ve just asked us. Obviously their working flow between kitchen needs to be optimized. The servers were generally friendly and helpful though.
Three points: the food, the vibe and a comment.Excellent pizza. I enjoyed the texture, bite/bounce and flavor of the crust. If you like experimenting with your own pizza crust definitely make a point to swing by and chat with the baker. A lot of thoughtfulness and intentionality was put into the crust. The flavor and portioning of sauce was just right. We ordered the Lilla Beez and the Fabio. Fabio was conceptually well thought out and. I appreciated the balance of ingredients. At the end of the day I would order any of these pizzas and will come back to try the others.Pasta recommendation was spot on. The server recommended the Pappardelle and the party enjoyed it. This can shared between 3 comfortably. The restaurant has a very comfortable atmosphere. The interior is spacious and well kept. Both table and bar seating are available. Im a big fan of the consistent design language here. Finally, a word about service. The service was good, and Im looking forward to see how it improves. While there have been comments about a lack of service, just remember when using "the customer is always right", to use it with many "grains of salt".Mixups, miscommunication, misunderstandings happen, and at the end of the day servers and waitstaff want to make your experience enjoyable and not miserable.
The short rib is more like a pastrami steak with a killer crunch! The pasta was a highlight, I love the make the pasta in house! The killa bee was interesting! The crust was legit! Will be back to squid ink pasta, definitely see it entering into my regular eats!
Cherry chocolate bread is very nice. Coffee taste is good, a little bitter after taste. The dinning enviorment is relaxing and enjoyable. Would recommend their bread, its sour dough base. The price is at the higher end.
Poor customer service. We waited 20 minutes for the dessert. I asked why it took so long and they claimed they made it fresh. They also didnt seem to apologize or care that it took so long. The flavor on everything is average. You get a small portion for high cost.
A wonderful place but can be better! The pizza there was phenomenal and the mocktails were very delicate and decorated with very beautiful dry fruits. The good side of pasta was the very big portion and the price was cheap for a place like Taipei 101. However the seasoning is plain and ordinary. I think it must be it’s just the test running for the business. It was not officially open, so the option for the menu was limited. I think they can do better, after their official open. I will go there again definitely.
Will definitely come visit again! Good food and nice wine! Love the decors and the services were great!
Normal cuisine, stunning taste!Had octopus salad, pasta, pizza, two desserts, Alsace white wine. Well done salt and stone, will come again :)
Great food + people + environment = one great restaurant. We’ve visited Salt&Stone 4 times in the last month. Pizza and pasta made fresh daily, simple and delicious.
Service was definitely the weakest point of the experience. Drink items were brought to the table with a few mumbled words. Service staff had to run back to the bar to check which drink had just been delivered. Credit card disappeared for ten minutes before we reminded them to bring it back.Food was underwhelming. The center of the pizza was soggy. Pasta portions were passable for the price so go ahead and order two of you are hungry.
麵包不錯,但是服務有待加強,點了5杯飲料只來三杯,最後結帳竟然變7杯的價錢Me and my family (5pplvisited this place at the afternoon of feb/5th. We ordered 5drinks and three pasties. The raisin roll and cinnamon roll taste good at this price point. However, the service is quite terrible. We ordered 5drinks but only got 3 at the beginning. Then we told a Taiwanese waitress that we were still missing two drinks, she said it’s in process, pls wait. However, we were still waiting and we have finished our foods without the coffee. Then, a waiter( I think he’s the baristacame by and we told him what we missed. He made it for us finally.Lastly, when we went to the cashier to check the bill, we found there are seven beverages in our bill, which is making me wonder where is the issue coming from? Did the waitress key in the wrong list in the system? ( but still missing beverages... or it was because of the misunderstanding communication between the staffs ? I like the atmosphere, but the service needs to be improved.
Absolutely divine!!! Pizza was fantastic, a really good pizza definitely starts with an amazing base. The crust was crisp with just the right amount of chew and great flavour. We got the “killa bee” pizza with spicy honey, interesting and a great combo. The chicken was moist and skin crisp, and generous sides. Parpadelle pasta was my favorite, creamy bolognese, generous portion size. We rarely make it to Taipei 101, but this will be a regular place for us to dine.
Great New American Restaurant inside @ 101, 4th floor near LV. The main course chicken is my favorite and also the pizzas. My favorite pastry there is the Morning Buns, it’s like a sticky buns with cinnamon and a little orange taste, and it’s simply amazing. Oh and the Baguettes and Sourdough bread selection is really good. I can’t wait to come back and have more pastry and drink more cocktails.
Came here during the soft-opening for lunch. Fantastic dining experience overall, attentive service, great space and ambiance, and super delicious food. the pizzas and pasta we ordered as mains were well executed, and the bread from the appetizer was amazing. will definitely be coming back here try other dishes.
