Great place that provides care for injured animals. Some cages are small, but the animals inside wouldnt be able to take advantage of bigger ones anyway. Only animals that cannot be released back in the wild are kept on display. Perfect for kids, we loved it too. Path is slippery when wet, so bring appropriate footwear. Thank you to the staff for everything you do and for being so helpful

A nice walk and saw most of the animals. Almost no one there on the tail end of a tropical storm.

Went here and expected something...different. It was like a zoo. I was expecting bigger, more natural-like enclosures. Toronto zoo has bigger enclosures. The hawk and owl had small enclosures where they cannot soar. It was sad.We saw less than half of the animals they say they have. Many exhibits were closed to visitors or had the animals moved out. Many of the animals that were there were nocturnal and not visible. It was a calm walk through the forest, accessible for those with mobility issue or parents with strollers as there was a well cared for boardwalk throughout.

Cool place. This park looks after animals that are injured and tries to help them recuperate. Saw some eagles, fox 🦊 & other creatures. Interesting. It was free of charge. Great work. Interesting visit!

It was great to see some animals that you normally wouldnt because theyd be hiding to far inside the forest. Highlights for me were caribou and foxes.

I have not been to a lot of the parks across the island over the years but that was a mistake if this park is anything to go by. I was amazed by the place, loved what I saw on the walking trail and enjoyed my time there immensely. I will go again and I am already looking forward to my next visit. And given how close it is to St. Johns there is no excuse to not visit it. Great park with an extremely helpful staff.

Great place to spend an hour or two and see some beautiful scenery and some local wildlife. Not all the animals are viewable all the time, but multiple trips should help see them all eventually. They are animals and they do tend to hide from humans. Enjoy the easy stroll through the park and you might be surprised at what you see. Admittance is free, however donations are accepted in the interpretation center.

The park could use a major update. If you didnt know better you would think it has been abandoned for the last 20 years. The enclosures look like they could fall apart in a strong wind! ...and where is the back fire escape? I wouldnt want to be down by the moose enclosure (which is emptyif a fire ever starts.

Oh this was amazing. So I decided to drive there one afternoon after spending some time at bowring park. It was around 3pm and we dint have much to do. Ive always wanted to take the kids hereWe got there and it started drizzling. We checked in and started our tour. The rain poured in us heavily, as we walked through, and we couldnt go back, since it was a one way haha. The kids and I kept going in the rain. My son actually loved it, even though I was worried he might have been upset.. but no, we soldiered on in the rain that was on and off, till the end.We saw some animals as wellSo its;Free, though you can make a donationBeautifulWell maintainedStroller/wheelchair friendly throughout the whole trail.About 30-45 mins walk .. could be more or less, depending on your speed.Totally highly recommended

The number of animals in the park are disappointing and seem to be getting worse. There was not one Moose to see, in a province where Moose walk through peoples backyard leisurely. Its so bad wooden images are put up! I believe the government can do more to provide more animals to give the place a boost. The only reason I rated this high was because of the lovely plank walk.

Lovely walk, spruce grouse seen. It is free and staff are friendly . If, however, you hope to see the animals, you may be disappointed. We saw the eagles and a spruce grouse. The caribou, woodchuck, marten, lynx and hare must have been enjoying some solitude (happy for them in this regard; they have large enclosures). The otter area was closed. The moose seems to not be there now. There is fantastic flora… lots of pitcher plants. All in all it’s still great way to spend the afternoon.

Nowhere on the SNP site does it mention anything about NO PETS ALLOWED! I brought along my tiny ChiChi, a leash, plenty of “green” bags if she were to have a “poop”! So basically I blew over 40 bucks on gas for nothing! INFORMATION LIKE THIS SHOULD BE ON THE SITE, NOT FINDING OUT FROM AN EMPLOYEE ATTHE DOOR!! I WILL NEVER TAKE MY VISITORS FROM OUTSIDE THE PROVINCE THERE!!!

Drove almost an hour out to come here and they wouldn’t even let us go on the walk (that is outsidebecause we had our dog. Yet there are running and screaming kids everywhere. Also, no where on the website said dogs aren’t allowed. Complete waste of gas and time.

Perfect adventure for kids and adults alike. Sometimes the animals are in hiding - which is understandable, but the walk through the woods is relaxing and not too intense. My 2yo walked it herself. Just got to watch as there are only rails on some parts of the path. Looks as though there are more being installed. Look forward to visiting again soon.

My daughter loves going here and I really enjoy the walking trial. I find the viewing of the animals is a hit or miss but the walk itself is beautiful even if you go at a time when there arent many animals.

Thankfully we were passing by and didnt take a trip from the city for it. A one hour walk were we didnt saw (barelyone animal. Just a long board walk with a bunch of empty pens. Its kind of like folktale the emperors new clothes. Everyone there knew it sucked but nobody wanted to say. The purpose on our end is to see wild animals. It did not deliver.

Amazing park, free, (donations gratefully accepted- as there is significant upkeep required). A host at the front desk was very knowledgeable and helpful in answering natural history questions! 😊 The entire path is a smooth boardwalk which takes at least an hour to walk. Numerous interpretive signs are located all along the path. It would even be possible to take a wheelchair on the path, as long as there was someone strong and fit to be able to push it up the gentle inclines. Well worth a visit to enjoy the fresh spruce scented air surrounding you as you observe the various fauna species in their enclosures and the extensive flora, native to this part of the world.

An amazing place. A friend was kind enough to show us this gem. A bit of a trek from downtown St.John’s but it was definitely worth the drive. Very scenic on the way in. This place was very well maintained and much to my astonishment no admission fee was charged.Had some difficulty finding some of the animals yet the walk was tranquil and the areas up keep was amazing.

Beautiful location with lots of natural beauty and some animals to see. Makes for a perfect afternoon trip from St. Johns. Really great to check out in the summer months, better again on not so nice days when there arent as many people around.

This is a nice walk with a variety of animals to see. Its far easier to see animals here than in the wild. The wilderness needs to step up its game if it wants to compete with Salmonier Nature Park.

Enjoyed the nice walk through. Was able to see pretty much all of the animals. Great photo ops for my bigger camera. Was able to stay ahead of the school tour behind us so enjoyed the quiet and had each display to ourselves. Very educational and enjoyed the little indoor display as well.

Great place to see a bunch of animals. Most of them are used to the presence of people and will not attempt to hide. Both the caribous and the moose are very easy to spot and nice to see. The lynx and the red fox were really hard to find. I think the animals are more likely to come out during cloudy weather, preferably after or during rain.
