Salamone's North in Rockford

Food was good. Expensive. You have to pay extra for meat sauce or meatballs. Spagattie sauce did not have much flavor, tasted more like just tomato sauce. The Pizza was good, but could use more cheese.

We took a chance this evening and door dashed some Italian. Our food was amazing! Full of flavor and cooked to perfection. This is now going to be our favorite go to!!!

It was great! Food was good and serves even better. We will be coming back every Friday.

Incredible experience in casual dining! Menu is extensive and served in a welcoming manner. Bar staff and servers are so great and friendly! Visit this hidden treasure! You wont be disappointed!!

So I tried to order a pizza for a friend and I live out in McHenry and my friend lives in Rockford right by this pizza place and they wouldn’t take my credit card over the phone so that’s pretty crazy because my friend likes Pizza a lot so they probably would’ve had a lot of business from him

If you have not been to either Salamones you are missing out. Always good, always freindly, always our favorite.

Good food but bad services we went there and ate pizza and sat outside and the server never came back out to check on us and never asked if we would anything to drink all we got was water and she rush us to eat your food I will never go back there

Id always heard their fried cod was very good. Well, tonight I had it delivered. When I opened the styrofoam carton it was full of grease. A piece actually broke apart when picking it up because it was so soggy. To heat it up I put it in my air fryer hoping it would get crispy again. 10 minutes in the air fryer is a very long time to heat something! It was still soggy! When I bit into a piece it was a disgusting mix of fish & oil. Slimey! Slid right off my fork! Its as if they removed it from the deep fryer & threw it into the carton without first draining it. Of course, the fries were swimming in grease, too. I called the manager to tell her my experience but was met with an "attitude". It was as if she didnt believe me. She did offer to make me a new meal, however, due to this meal I have completely lost my appetite & it went in the trash! Not even going to give it to my dog. What a complete disappointment & a waste of money! What is going on with this place? We ordered takeout a few weeks ago and it wasnt as good as it used to be. The food used to be superb but now schifoso. Might want to also brush up on your customer skills, as well!

Freqent customer havent had a bad thing here ever....pizza is great shrimp dejonge awesome but my fave is the Italian beef bread bowl...must try it

Like the MINESTRONE soup and pasta. Both SEAFOOD PORTOFINO and FETTUCCINE SICILIANO are delicious and portion is very generous.

The food is usually great. Ive had some not so amazing good before, but its quite far and in-between. Ive also had a few delivery issues from here, but the staff was incredibly friendly and offered some sort of compensation whenever there was a mishap. Ultimately, a heavy-hitter in the Italian cuisine genre in Rockford. Definitely worth a try (or several).

Food quality has dropped. You can have any soup you want as long as it is minestrone, every, freaking day. Menu hasnt changed in ages, if youre going to go to Salamones, go to Salamones in Cherry Valley.

Great service with a smile! We had pizza and it was a little over cooked meaning the crust was hard. The topping flavors were magnificent nonetheless! 😀

The restaurant was busy, our server was amazing! We ordered an app and dinner with salad/soup, the timing of everything was perfect so we never had too much food in front of us at once. Bruscetta, fettuccine siciliano, and seafood portofino. Everything was fresh, hot, and tasted wonderful! Our server was great with refills and checking on us, we never had to wait during any point of service. I cant wait to go back and try more, the pizzas look amazing!

Ordered the pan pizza with cheese, sausage, bacon, mushroom and onion to be cooked a little longer to get the cheese golden. It was perfectly cooked. There were plenty of toppings with lots of cheese. The flavor was great. The sauce was more neutral instead of spicy or sweet. I do prefer my deuce to be more spicy, but this sauce still had a great flavor. The crust was about perfect thickness for pan pizza. Salamones will likely become my go to place for pizza.

My family took me here on my birthday. Were new to the area so have been trying new places. This is definitely in our top 5. 14 in our party and everyone loved their dinner choices. We shared with each other to experience the different dishes and enjoyed all of the flavors. Excellent food, and wait staff were great! My only suggestion would be to create a u-shape with the tables so everyone can face each other and the waitress can serve in the middle of all tables. That way everyone in the party can see each other and be close enough to talk with each other instead of so far apart from each other and unable to have a conversation. Otherwise excellent experience. Thank you.

Tried this place out for the first time today, the bartender / waitress was very nice, I was alone so I sat at the bar, she recommended the Italian beef bread bowl which was what I ultimately ordered and it was super delicious. The place is clean, updated, the food is great as is the service, Ill be back

Placed an order for pickup, the order took longer then *estimated to be done which isnt horrible, we waited at the bar for our pizza to be done. But they brought out two pizzas. Turns out they took the order wrong over the phone and charged us for two pizzas.When we brought the issue up with the hostess she argued that she was the one who took the order and definitely did it right. The attitude was rude and unnecessary instead of trying to fix the issue. The woman who ended up fixing the order charge mistake wasnt much better for attitude like us overcharged was more inconvenient to her. No worries, if having paying customers is an inconvenience Ill take my business elsewhere.Then after checking the pizza... Well look at the photos... fresh, still in the box. Sloppy, burnt, the half ingredients requested is unclear which side is which.As far as a take out experience goes. This one was definitely not pleasant. Id recommend the owners possibly look into a retraining moment. Not sure why our pizza is burnt and just not the level of food or service anticipated.

Food was great usually u have to book thursday - Sunday ahead of time but thanks to covid-19 I was able to dine in as a walk-in on one of there busiest days out the week

Wow, contactless delivery, food was super hot, great portions! We loved everything, from the huge chicken parmigiana to the delicious pasta sampler. The lasagne was outstanding.Weve also gotten pizza from Salamones, and its been really good, too. Nice crust, good cheese to sauce ratio, had a couple bubbles, which I love.Well done!

My wife and I attended a wedding reception in Winnebago on 8/29/20 and it was catered by Salamones. It was a buffet style set up. It was the best darn wedding food ever. The chicken parmesan was moist and melted in our mouths. The italian beef was wonderful. All of it was just perfect. Great job Salamones.

Finestt extra thin crust sausage pizza in Rockford, hands down!... Yes, the others can be very good but Salamones has the lightest, buttery crust that actually has flavor that good Italian cooks will recognize. Their sauce is a tasty, light, tomatoey compliment to the outstanding thick slices of sausage and their cheese is a perfect meld to whats under it. Order one today. Im gonna.

Salamones is the real deal. Food is fantastic. Pizzas are excellent, havent had anything bad. Owners are super friendly, staff does great job. Also the Thursday night rib special is the best!!! I know ribs at an Italian restaurant but they make there own bbq sauce and then ribs fall.off the vones.

If you like the famous chef boyardee meat, you would like their home made lasagna. On the menu they state its addictive but to be honest it its not. The quality of the meat is poor. Took a few bites had to kinda force myself to eat it since we paid for it. The taste of the sauce was ok the lasagna is mostly meat and noodles just a little cheese and little to none ricotta cheese. However the chicken ala marcela is amazing. Has great flavor. I would have to stay with the Chicken and never get the lasagna again. Was very disappointing!

Ordered take out. Came to $53. Tortellini, lasagna were good. The chicken wings werent cooked all the way. My sons meatball tasted like soap. The tossed salads were good, cant really mess those up I suppose. Not very impressed. I think Ill stick to Bravo Pizza.

This is just for the food. Got home with my pizza where I live 2 minutes from there. Pizza was very doughy and cheese was hardly even melted on top. This is the 2nd time coming here. I will only use the Cherry Valley location from now on. Complete difference from locations with whos cooking.

Great food and service. Jackie is one of the best servers in Rockford. The Friday fish fry is great with the option of baked or fried cod. My wife is a pasta freak and says they have the best sauce. Bar is cool with a solid beer selection.

My wife & I had the prime rib dinner last Saturday night and a few appetizers and some drinks.. we will only return HERE for prime rib... service was excellent... food was amazing... was very satisfied with our visit to Salamones!

We found this restaurant one evening and were delighted! The food is flavorful, fresh and uses seasonings other than salt to make it delish. The stuffed mushrooms (appetizerare some of the best around the area and worth sharing. Portions are good and if you leave hungry its your own fault!

We ordered pizza and salads for Super Bowl Sunday. Pizza was delicious and salads were perfect. The dressing was delicious and the salads looked “pretty” too. All this, and they delivered exactly when we asked them to. Thanks Salamone’s North!

This place has great food and our waitresses have always been great. Portions are generous which makes up for the menu price of some items. They have expanded their menu and now have chicken marsala, but its breaded chicken which throws off the whole marsala experience to which Im accustomed. The lasagna is highly recommended. The pizza is great too. The place has many nice large screen TVs. There is some outside seating and a full service bar inside. A mixture of high and low seating is available. This place does have a kids menu.

This rating is only for the food we had . My wife and I both ordered the baked mostaccioli and it was terrible in our opinion . My wife is Italian so she is very judgmental when it comes to Italian food anyway but this was really bad . They use mini pasta not the mostaccioli you would expect . They used so much sauce that it seemed more like a very thick soup . We were both very disappointed in the food .However the service was good . Our waitress was very polite and on top of things . We did not complain at the restaurant at all . We looked at it as a lesson learned ( to not order the mostaccioli again lol .

Service was great. Our waitress was Sandra and she was really nice and very kind to our one year old son. Even brought him a slice of an Orange to bite on and enjoy. Food was good. Veggie pizza was a little overpriced.

Nice place. Server was very friendly and did a good job. The calzone is HUGE! I had to take 1/2 of it home. You can choose what you want inside & it comes with their own marinara to dip. Very nice. Italian dressing for salad was good. The shrimp on the spaghetti were large and well cooked. We will return to try more of their menu! There is also a bar attached and pleny of parking.😊

Had the taco pizza as dine-in last night with a friend. Was excellent, as the BBQ chicken, Mediterranean, pepperoni, and regular cheese have been that we have had as carry out & delivery. Definitely has become my go-to pizza place! Never disappointed! Atmosphere is nice and the service was great.

Not nearly as good as it should be. I ordered my salad with Italian dressing; I got vinegar and oil with nary an herb or spice. I had spaghetti for my entree....watery, acidic sauce with no richness at all. The bread provided was squishy soft and had sesame seeds on top. Our table of four got three pieces of this non-Italian non-delight. We had to ask for more bread twice and more butter.The price for our meals was high.As one of my fellow diners said, "Its ok, but Ive certainly had better."Oh, and why is the music all Rat Pack? Theres plenty of lovely Italian instrumental music.Disappointed. Probably wont be back.

I called at the last minute and they agreed to make my pizza anyways when no one else would. They were friendly and the food was delicious. Awesome customer service. They certainly went above and beyond!♡

Upon walking in the door on New Years Eve we were not greeted by anyone to figure out where to sit. Once we asked a passing employee what to do we were finally sat. I asked the server what was on tap and she plopped her notebook on the table. I guess that works? The food is good. The service thru the meal was not so good. Good eats but lousy service.
