Salads UP in Madison

Food was okay. When we went to get water the dispenser was empty. We informed the cashier and he said he was too busy to fill up the water. Weird because we were the only ones in the place. Very unfriendly server/cashier and didn’t offer to help us get water. Our visit was 8/22 around 2:00 pm.

Food was fresh. Definitely a healthy option. Be sure to tell the counter person if you want your salad mixed.

Nice please to have healthy food but they could certainly add a few more salad toppings like roasted veggies, pistachios, blue cheese, and olives. Also salads need much better mixing. My olive oil, lemon, salt, and pepper were mostly on top, with bottom layers remaining dry.

Very good food! I ordered the saddle up bowl and would definitely order again. The interior is very cute and the staff are super friendly. Only complain is the menu is a bit pricey, but you are served a lot of food.

My husband and I wanted to try something healthy and new so we tried Salads up. We will not be ordering from this place again. I thought I was getting a salad for lunch because thats what the pictured showed. I ended up with a $12 smoothie and my husbands salad was ice cold. We wont order from them again.

Don’t sleep on this place! I’ve been sorely disappointed by most salads in a town inexplicably obsessed with Forage, but I’m happy to report that’s finally changed. Great portion size, fresh veggies, tasty signature options or plenty of toppings to create exactly what you want. Every one I’ve tried has had the right greens:topping ratio for a really satiating meal. Would love to see a few healthier dressing options in the future (jalapeño vinaigrette?but honestly don’t have a single complaint!

Just ordered a Saddle Up salad and added 3 additional toppings. The salad that was delivered only included the 3 additional toppings. Super disappointing to pay $25+ dollars for a salad that had 3 ingredients and no dressing.

Sadly I had a brorito wrap and could tell that the chicken was dry didnt even taste like there wasnt even enough dressing in it.

Great place for healthy alternatives ! I hope they open one in Eau Claire !

The balsamic vinegar was rancid

Ordered over eat street. When i got my Wrap it looked good, until i took a bite of it and something tasted soured/spoiled! im not sure what it was but it was all through the warp as I tried to eat it! It had such a bad taste that I had to spit it out! on top of that i had ordered and paid 2.00 extra for Avocado that was not even in my wrap! I was so angry and contacted eatstreet and they only gave me back a small portion of what i paid! I was hoping to get my money back as I was on my lunch break and only could eat my chips, so i went hungry for the rest of my work day. Will not be ordering again! Yuck!

I love salads up. I come here often and try new things all the time. The bowls are big and very filling where you don’t have to eat for hours. The seasonal specials are so Good and I love how easy it is to switch out items for things you’d want. Worth the visit for sure. - get the bro-rito but instead of grains get Romain , such a good salad.

So many choices for salad ingredients! The drink and chip options are great, and the overall flavor of the salads is very good!

I love visiting this place when Im in Madison. They have the best selection of items to make super healthy and delicious salads and wraps. The chimichurri dressing is just incredible inside of a wrap, and if you ask them to grill the tortilla for you, it gets even better.

Awesome salad with great deals through Hooked. The staff was super friendly and I really enjoyed my experience here. Salads UP will give you half an avocado for the same price Forage changes for a quarter avocado. Ill be back again!

The salad was fine with a decent selection of toppings, but the drink selection was so "healthy" that they didnt have anything that actually tastes good.

Its ok here. The prices are a little high, but its good healthy food. The one complaint I have is that sometimes they forget to put things in your salads that you pay for, so they need to be a little more attentive.

overall good service and fair price

Really great food but very pricey. The starting price of a salad with no cheese, meat or additional “upgrades” is $9....I spent almost $15 once I added cheese, chicken and avocado. Not the best value but I love the concept. Probably won’t go back due to price. There are places that are much more affordable. They should at least include one of those upgrades for $9!

Great place for a nice healthy meal around state street. The app they use is actually well done as most places arent. Has a weird vibe of being both a chain and kinda a start up idea. Very aimed towards college kids in every sense. It seems like a pricey place until you realize anywhere on state street is the same price. Would highly recommend instead of somewhere like Chipotle

The grain bowls are delicious and very filling. As a health-conscious person I really liked the options (especially the vegetarian ones). Only the price is a bit of an issue. A dollar or two less would be reasonable given that the dishes are not processed/cooked.

I found part of a plastic wrapper in my bowl. I expected a better experience for a $10 salad bowl.

Salads are dumb

Great salads and I dont usually eat salads.

Im a regular. Usually the service and the salads are pretty good. However todays experience was horrible. When they ran out of romaine, instead of going back to get more they just acted like nothing happened. Then they also ran out of croutons and the girl who made my salad literally put just crumbs on as I watched, not 1 single actual crouton. She asked if I wanted additional olive oil as if that fixes the problem. Also watched a good bit of my olives and tomatoes roll off the chopping block. Ended up getting 60% of a salad for the full price. For how much I had to pay for this salad I expect the whole thing and if you run out of an ingredient and cant be bothered to go back to get more, maybe offer an additional ingredient, not more dressing. They werent even busy. Expected better. If it happens again, Forage Kitchen is where I will be going for my salads in the future.

Not only the concept of this place but the salad itself are great! It has a very convenient location right next to State Street and N. Frances. I love getting the wrap - a burrito sized salad with 1 dollar cheaper. The soup is good too!

Salads Up is a great concept that has been adopted from Ann Arbor, Madisons sister city in Michigan. They are looking to go national with the chain. It does feel a little stale and overly contrived, yes they sell fast food salads in a stainless steel atmosphere. Yes, they subscribe to every social media under the sun. The food is fresh though not that inventive, kind of like a great salad bar.

The salads are great. I especially like their Greek salad. I wouldve given them 5-stars if the portions were a bit larger and/or the prices were a bit cheaper. Maybe $1-2 cheaper per salad and Id be coming here more often. Definitely off to a great start, though!
