Sal's Pupuseria - Salvadoran restaurant in Idaho Falls, United States
Best pupusas in Idaho - very authentic Salvadorian style 🙌
Pupusas were excellent and larger than I expected as was the churro. Takes a minute to get your food and that because it’s made fresh and to order.
No matter how busy, or what you order, wait is minimum 45 minutes
Wonderful scratch food! Very authentic. Stopped here while traveling through the town. Whole family loved it!! A little slow, but expected when everything is made to order. So don’t expect fast food.
Soooo good and authentic. The owner is a great guy. Very friendly and great service!
Excellent food at great prices. We go for tacos and so far not disappointed. Asada, fish, chicken and adobada are yummy. Tacos are not mini street style, they are regular sized handfuls of heaven. There’s a bit of a wait, since it’s a mom and pop place but well worth it.
We had vegetarian burritos which were big and delicious. The mangonata (a spicy mango icywas also delicious!
7/5/2022: its okay. Waited 30 minutes for 2 pupusas and 2 tacos. I died a little when I saw the styrofoam plates.Order the pollo and abodado tacos. Meat was well seasoned unfortunately the corn tortilla was very thin and didnt hold up well.Ordered the chicharron and bean & cheese pupusas. Flavor was good but the were bigger than Im used to.
I have traveled far and wide and Im not lieing when I say sals is #1 best corn cup and papusas Ive ever Had. I wish I lived closer.
Amazing. Friendly service, savory food, with crisp fresh slaw and salsa. Best in a hundred miles.
Terrible pupsas, I was so excited to try these because my friends rave about them. They were super thin and burnt on the edges and had some burnt spots all over in different places. They charge $3.25 for each and definitely not worth the price, I bought 8 just to throw 7 in the trash. 😞
Amazing! Food and it’s not updated yet but They have aNEW ADDRESS 467 River Pkwy
Good food. Business is rarely open, hence the three star rating
I would definitely go back. Good food, nice people.
Very reasonable prices and nice portions! The pupusas were delicious. They were lacking flavor and the wait time from placing the order to getting them was awhile, but they were very fresh and authentic. Make sure you have time to wait while the food is prepped, but if you have patience your hunger will be rewarded!
Quite frankly, Sals Pupuseria may be my favorite lunch spot in Idaho Falls.I love pupusas and would frequent different spots in Southern California and Vegas. Sals Pupuseria is as close as it gets in Idaho Falls. The Loroco Y Queso pupusa is my favorite, no matter where I am. Its basically herbs & cheese but so delicious. The curtido (cabbageat Sals is a great addition and well seasoned. The carne asada taco was good. It was flavorful and bigger than your average street taco. However, it was pretty greasy. Use several napkins and then wash your hands right after type of greasy...but thats where the flavors at! Lol.Prices are slightly higher than the other places Im accustomed to. However, my options in Idaho Falls for Salvadorian comfort food are limited so Ill take what I can get.Everything is cooked when you order it so be prepared to wait for a bit or call ahead. There were probably 3-4 people ahead of me during lunch hour and I waited close to 30 minutes for my food. The gentleman who works the counter isnt overly friendly but I understand that not everyones personality is the same as mine. He was nice enough that I didnt feel uncomfortable.Overall, Sals Pupuseria is a great little spot to grab a bite.
Food was wonderful tast great love street taco.. Red salsa was yummy
Food was good, wait was horrible. 50min for 3 tacos when they are not busy. Had I not already paid I would have left. Only go if you have an afternoon to kill.
Who knew there were pupusas in Idaho, the food was good and the quality and quantity was great for the price.
Love her cooking. Never disappointed. Will always come back.
I arrived at around 5:30pm on a Wednesday afternoon. I was the only one there. I ordered three spicy pork tacos and a mulita. The order took about 12-14 minutes to prepare and serve. This means it was going to be fresh. At least I hoped. During my wait, two other customers came through. A girl with purple hair was among them. The tacos were delicious as was the mulita. I really recommend checking this place out.
Pupusas are a treasure. These pupusas are delicious! My favorite place to go when I am in Idaho Falls! Customer service is incredible and their food as well is outstanding. Want something life changing? Eat the pupusas here!
Tried this place for the first time today and we’ll definitely be back! Pupusas were all handmade to order, the chicken is well seasoned, the quesadillas are well stuffed and the salsa verde is drinkable.
Worst service and food in town. Very rude staff food was horrible and over priced will never go back
This place is awesome!!! I had the sopes y huaraches. I didnt have a clue what that is, but now I can tell you they are little fried discs of corn bread ( I thinkcovered with taco fixings. They were great! I highly recommend them!
Excellent and authentic Salvadorian food, very tasty. Prices were high for the portions, and they were very slow for a food truck, but I will eat here again, the food was that good
Best carne asada fries in IF. Carne was tender and perfectly seasoned, and the guac and cheese were perfect. Comes with sour cream, we got extra but it wasnt necessary. The papusas were awesome, though one was a little burned. The curtido is mild and fresh. I prefer mine spicy, but this will appeal to everyone.
Everyone should try this place is really good .
One of my three orders was correct (I got two plain cheese in place of Revuelto, which is beef, beans, cheese, and pork, and another different orderand they all tasted pretty American. Average price, though, and not a bad flavor.
Amazing food. Takes a while to get your food but worth the wait.
Good food, fair prices, but not as good as the taco bus in Rexburg.
Great pupusas! Yummy, made fresh and hot. Theyre a nice large size and inexpensive. This is a nice place to go to enjoy some yummy Salvadoran food on a sunny day. The seating area is uncovered though, so watch out for rain!
Get the pork pupusa. SO GOOD. my only regret is that they dont cater. I would serve this at my wedding. Service is good, the food is fresh, and everything is made with love- you can tell by how incredible it all tastes.
I have tried to go a few times lately and its been closed with no sign or notice as to why but the food is great and the prices are more than fair. They have options for every tolerance to spicy food also.
Really fun to have this option but plan for extra wait time. Pupusas and cabbage side are delicious.
They always have the best food and customer service. Always fresh and everyone who works there is super awesome. I absolutely love this place. Best street tacos in town.
Having been to El Salvador for REAL pupusas I was pleasantly surprised. The pupusas themselves were decent but the curtido was not the best
More of a food truck than a restaurant, but there are picnic benches outside. The food was excellent, though service was a little slow.
Amazing find in Idaho! Didnt even know it was there until we drove by on the way to our hotel. I havent had pupusas in forever and Sals didnt disappoint. Service was great, food was fresh and the prices were fair.
Ordered a chicken burrito. Not terrible just didnt like the bones left in the chicken. Hubby got a spicy pork burrito, no complaints from him.
This is not Mexican food. It is El Salvadorian food and uses different spices then what Mexican food does. The first few bites us all this is pretty good and then after that it just goes Bland
The pupusas were so good! Be warned, its like ordering at a restaurant, so if you dont have time to wait 15+ minutes for your food, call ahead! The staff was very nice, they answered all of our questions and were very kind. Its hard to find Salvadoran food around here, but theyve nailed it! So tasty. Hope they stick around for a long time.
Delicious! First time having pupusas and from a food truck and they were awesome. I also ordered the steak taco and was very pleased with it. It took a little while to get our food but I was there with a lot of people so it was a big order. Big picnic tables for you to enjoy your food.
Horrible customer service food is gross and greasy and it take way too long. Expect to wait 20 minutes for food not worth eating
Saw my friend Andrew did a review on this and thought I should do it too as they deserve a 5 star, at least for the tacos (did not try any other menu). Shredded beef tacos and tongue tacos are my favorite, and my friends spoke very highly of spicy pork taco. If you are in town and want to try some meal from truck, this is a must try.
The girl taking orders was rude. It doesnt take much to have great customer service but apparently its too difficult for these guys. Food is good, but there are a lot of good food choices here so Ill take my $$$ elsewhere.
Fantastic, authentic Salvadoran and Mexican food. Excellent service and great prices. If eat here every day if I could!
We waited 45+ minutes for our order and they got everything wrong. Nothing like the picture and they forgot our drinks. The people behind us got theres in 5 minutes tops very disappointed will never go back!
Meat was very dry and tough like a it had sat out for a while. Although they exchanged my tacos it wasnt much better mabey soaked it in some juices but still very tough.
This is probably the best taco truck in town. I only get tacos when I come here, so I have not tried their other menu options. Their spicy pork tacos and my favorite, but all of them are good. It is a taco truck so dont expect anything super fancy about the location though.
