Restaurant serving sushi, noodle dishes & kitchen entrees in a mellow environment.
Best Ramen in town. Their nigiri is pretty good too. Not a huge fan of their special rolls or sushi entre
I went for lunch on my birthday and had an amazing time! I ordered a bowl of Ramen and some sushi but couldnt come close to eating it all. Staff was great, food was delicious!
Had the Goyza Ramen and garlic edamame. Very good and nice staff.
Service was good, sushi and sashimi was just ok.
The ramen is delicious. The best in town.
I really enjoyed the Ramen I had here and the edamame I had was some of the best Ive ever had. I am curious to come back and try their sushi.
Easily my favorite resturant in Wichita. That is saying a lot considering how many great places there are! The sashimi is carefully prepared and well plated, the garlic edemame is delectable, and the 5 spice ramen is the best bowl of ramen I have ever had. It has seriously raised the bar to unobtainable levels. The staffs dedication to the resturant is to be admired and respected. For as long as I can remember, I have been helped by the same people. I will never miss the chance to come in whenever I am in town.
I picked up sushi here a month or so ago, the fish tasted and smelled very fishy. It looked old and the cuts were far too thick, and had unusual chewy texture. I ended up throwing it away after one bite. $45 of sushi in the garbage. Would never come back
Was a great experience. Food was delicious. Staff was super friendly. I will definitely be returning to try something else on the menu.
The best ramen in town! If youre a fan of pork trust this is your spot then and dont be afraid to order extra!
Great people and even better food! Their 5 spice Ramen is so good!
The food is always amazing, fresh, and hot!! The service is top notch, if you want some amazing ramen or sushi then you should check this place out!
I can’t give any business a one-star, but this is the ONLY sushi restaurant I’ve ever been to where I left half of my sushi. Cold, wet rice, funky tasting mayo, and tasteless salmon. The wait staff was fine, but it took almost 45 minutes to get two rolls & a bowl of ramen. 15 minutes before they closed.Sorry Sakura. Please step up your sushi game. Potential patrons: please go two stores down and get some ramen.
The Chicken Curry rice bowl is easily the best thing I’ve ever put in my mouth. Wish I would’ve found this place a lot sooner.
Excellent service and food, Pork belly in the 5 spice ramen was out of this world! Easily the best ramen I’ve had in Wichita hands down!
Sakura (original Harry and Rock locationhas a soft spot in my heart because its the first place I ever tried sushi and grew to love it.There are many options to choose from: sushi, noodle dishes, fried rice and what I enjoy the most, the ramen.Their ramen is delicious! I always get the Tonkatsu Curry Ramen. Their perfectly cooked soft boiled eggs and charred pork belly is so tasty! The spicy broth is very flavorful and has a complexity that sets theirs apart from many other restaurants Ive tried. The food is always consistent which all diners can appreciate.I also add a tuna or salmon temaki or any of their specialty rolls to enjoy with the ramen. There is only one chef and one front of the house, so the wait will be longer. They are still social distancing with tables which limits capacity. Youll need to arrive well before closing time because you may get turned away because the tables are full. The lady who runs the front of the house works very hard and is attentive to the customers needs and ensures they have plenty of water.Price is comparable to other Japanese or sushi restaurants in Wichita. Definitely give them a try!
We love the gyoza and 5 spice ramen. The small scale dining room is excellent for our date nights. We love Sakura.
They have zero compassion for people’s schedules. We traveled 30 minutes and got there in time to enjoy lunch. But they sent us away, saying they were closed to any orders, (we arrived AT LEAST 30 minutes before their posted closing time and they had open spaces). They were flippant about it. This afternoon we tried again. Drove 30 minutes.. again. Now they’re just not open. They have a sign posted on their door that says they are closed and reopening on March 1. Today is March 2 and they are not open. WHAT?? This is beyond frustrating. Not how you treat customers. I hope all is well with them.
There are only two people working here but it is worth the wait. The sushi and sashimi is very good. I hope to try the Ramen soon.
Delicious sushi and great service. Had a few appetizers (Takoyaki and Agadashiand the deluxe sushi combo B. Happy bellies!
Best authentic tasting ramen in town! Waitress and owners there are very kind! If youre not sure what to get ask for recommendations and they never fail. The takoyaki always come out perfectly when ordered. And their sushi is delicious. Their cheesy tofu appetizer is also a favorite!
I have been frequenting this place for a few years now. I go about once a week. The Shoyu Pork Belly Ramen is amazing, much better than any other place Ive tried. Additionally they have the best Sushi in Wichita in my opinion. They also have great curried fried rice, grilled red snapper, lots of good options. Small space, just a husband and wife running the place, but they do a great job.
The noodles I had were delicious! Theres an art to using the spicy sauce you get on the side. Proceed with caution if you arent ready for the heat. Overall I enjoyed the great flavors found in my food and the sensations of eating the spicy sauce added in.
What a wonderful find. We shared the garlic edamame and fried potstickers—which I highly recommend. I had never had edamame with those two flavors together — delicious. My yakisoba was flavorful and I will definitely order again. The atmosphere was zen and the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. Dishes are made to order so plan to relax and enjoy this meal.
Ive always heard great things, but hadnt ever made it in. I ordered the five spice tonkatsu ramen and a rainbow roll. A friend ordered the chicken yaki soba. Both were absolutely delicious and filling. Service was a little slow, but the quality of food was worth it. Will definitely be dining here again.
We asked the extremely nice and helpful waitress if she had vegetarian recommendations and her suggestions were stellar. We got two types of veggie sushi which were hands down the best Ive ever had. The ramen was outstanding and the sake was delicious. Highly recommend!
Ive never had "real" ramen until now. Oh. My. GAWD!! Heaven in a bowl!! Please be patient with the service. Its only 2 people running it, but the wait is well worth it and they are very courteous and kind. Ill definitely be back!
Wow! This place is so amazing! My boyfriend really wanted to go here to try the takoyoki and it was truly amazing it felt so authentic. I also the udon noodles and they were just like when I lived back in Japan. I’m usually a hard critic because I lived in Japan so I hold Japanese restaurants to a higher standard, but this was amazing it was just like I was back in Japan again. The service was really nice as well and she was so sweet! Will definitely be coming back!
Loved eating here when it was at Harry and Rock, so happy to know they are open again. My favorite chicken fried rice!!!! Always hot and flavorful!
Small little restuarant. The staff was very freindly. I ordered the shiitake beef. It was so amazing. I cant wait to come back and try it again!
Great little spot for Japanese cuisine!Popped in for a lunch on a Saturday a few months back and it was more of an upscale feel than I was anticipating! The staff was friendly and helped make some sushi suggestions. We tried a few different rolls plus some apps and everything tasted fresh and delicious!DO NOT MISS: their spicy garlic edamame. Why have I never thought to add garlic to edamame?! And why have I never seen it on a menu elsewhere?! Guys, it raises the bar so high and blew our minds. I think about it about once a week. So, so good. Its not discount sushi in price or quality, but pretty moderately priced for the vibe of the restaurant and the menu offerings. Will be returning for a treat yo self dinner here soon!
Fast and friendly service, dinner served quick. The menu is extensive with a decent amount of vegetarian options. I went out on a limb and tried the eel in the Desert Maki roll. I was very apprehensive about it, but it was top notch! The flavor was perfect! I also had the garlic edamame, that was good too. This place is definitely worth checking out. There were plenty of open seats at dinner time.
Their sushi boats were fine, nothing too special. Their roman soup was really good, it was delicious
Amazing service and great food! A bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Very nice environment in the restaurant as well.
It takes longer to get the food. The place is nice and usually not very busy. Its not easy to spot to new people
Service was just as amazing as the food. Loved the special Curry Ramen. The garlic edamame was absolutely delicious! Will definitely be back to try the sushi.
A quiet, intimate restaurant with excellent Korean and Japanese food. The Kim chi and five spice ramen are not to be missed!
Great food and friendly staff. I love this place.
This is the BEST sushi and Ramen restaurant in town - hands down! Ordered the seafood curry Ramen and clam roll. Wow very delicious, cant wait to go back.
Nice Japanese restaurant atmosphere, great wait staff and awesome food! I had the seafood curry ramen and it was probably the best seafood ramen Ive ever had. Definitely worth the visit and will come visit next time Im in Wichita.
Staff: Really polite and was very attentive.Sushi: Tasted good but not so good after having tasted my ramen bowl.Sakura Ramen: Noodles were delish especially with the other veggies and potbelly but lacked an explosive flavor. With that said I will try again.
When I came in, the place was small and busy, but the staff were super friendly and genuinely wanted to ensure I was enjoying my time there. They had a bottle of nigori sake that I like well enough, the fresh salmon nigiri was exceptional, my favorite bite of the night. The spicy tuna roll was one of the best Ive ever had, it was actually spicy. Ever since Kwan Court closed, Ive looked for a replacement sushi restaurant in Wichita, while this place doesnt come close in atmosphere, the hospitality makes up for it. I definitely hope to come back again.
One of my personal favorites in Wichita! Always delicious and the staff has a great memory! Remembered us and where we moved to :love this place
Very nice place. The best rice ever Ive tried. The Ramen is awesome and the beers.... Mmmm. Selection of wines and Sake. A Japanese gem in Kansas
My husband and I LOVE this place! Best sushi in town!! Its well worth the price, and the owners are very sweet, kind people. We have never had bad service here, or were upset by quality. Its consistent, and we will always recommend Sakura to anyone who likes delicious Japanese dishes.
Very enjoyable experience. The menu prices were a bit higher than other places, but the variety of dishes was quite impressive. The gyoza ramen had a phenomenal flavor, and the portions were generous. Also tasty was the roast pork curry. We tried the corn soup as well, and found it delicate and delicious. The lovely server was very kind and attentive, and I will gladly be back to this establishment when my budget allows.
Great friendly service. Two of my favorite food here are the tiger maki (eel, white tuna, and green jalapenoand crispy salmon skin salad. Both are pictured below. Ill definitely cime.again to try other dishes like the 5-spice ramen.
This is a nice restaurant located in the Delano district. The staff was friendly and made sure drinks stayed filled and all needs were met. I had the sushi here and it was really good. The quality was good maybe some of the best sushi Ive had in Wichita but I was a little disappointed with the quantity for the price. Each selection only came with two pieces and I left still hungry after dropping $20 on just my meal.
Yum! Even though we were the only customers late on a Monday night, the food and service was awesome! What I liked about this place was that they had different stuff! For example, cherries on top my sushi roll? Who knew that would taste so good?? Our waitress was even kind enough to take the time and explain items to us. Great experience.
A must try place!! Very delicious sushi and Ramen!!
