Saint Mary's Cathedral - Catholic church in Perth, Australia
Very impressive building. Well maintained in the heart of Perth, opposite Royal Perth Hospital.
Beautiful place to Worship, went to a Wedding there.
One of Perths most beautiful churches, free entry, definitely worth a look.
We are not in this parish but love it whenever we go to mass at St Marys Cathedral at 5 pm Sundays.
Beautiful cathedral and a truly wonderful service.
Such a surreal experience paying tribute to our beautiful Queen. Took my Mum & we loved it in there, we could have fallen to sleep ππΈπππ§‘β€ππππ₯°
Peaceful and serene place for contemplation. There is a modern feeling to this place of worship, rather different from others, such as the St Marys Cathedral in Sydney. A Lovely space to breathe and away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
great service for Sunday Holy Eucharistic celebration! Many Filipinos attending this place.
Special Marriage mass. Wonderful experience. Thanks to Bishop Sproxton for celebrating mass for all of us.
Beautiful acoustics but some restricted views of proceedings - choose your seating well!
Extraordinarily beautiful. Specially the area on the right side of the main altar, the wall covering is exquisite.
In the heart of the city with wonderful garden. The church itself is also artistically built
Very peaceful place. A must see.
Such a beautiful Cathedral with gorgeous architecture. Lovely masses as well with a nice organ player and choir.
Beautiful Catholic Church. Calm and peaceful
Sound system makes it hard to understand what is being said. A lot of echoing and reverberation. I have been a few times and sat in different places but the experience is the same. I feel the repositioning of the altar to the middle of the building has cut off the aesthetics of the old altar and has resulted in the feeling of the building being two buildings joined together. I hope they do something about the sound system
Tour guide gave us the history and showed us around. It is rather beautiful, and the tour was interesting. Worth a visit..
This is a very historic church that was built more than a century ago, the architecture is very beautiful both from the interior and exterior, in general this place is quite well maintained and very clean not only on the inside, even the outside is also clean, the grass is very well maintained good for other plants, very strategic location, in the center of Perth city, easy to reach from all sides of Perth city, large enough capacity, very good for those who are looking for peace when carrying out mass on Sundays
Ambience - reverence and serene - very good for prayers and meditation. Iconic. Adequate security. Souvenir shop and much more. I love the place. I feel safe and secure just sitting in a corner to pray and meditate. Ample parking. Red cat route.
One of my favourite place in the planet to satisfy my cravings of spiritual food. After enhancing my relationship with the almighty, I can enjoy the splendid glass windows and gardens with their beautiful flowers.
My sisters wedding was unbelievable! The regal setting creating an intimate but grandiose atmosphere that was enjoyed by everyone who attended. The close proximity to the weddings function and hotel accommodation in Perth City also meant we were able to make the most of the night without having to spend heaps on taxis and ride shares.
Absolutely stunning! The stained glass windows are so beautiful.
Beautiful church in the middle of the city...
A historical place. The front facade is new build while they preserve the back. A beautiful place especially the wall art and altars.A place to rest, reflect and communicate.
Very nice building of architectural interest. Built in the 19th century style but with modern extensions added in a sympathetic and pleasing way. Modern and spacious inside and set in pristine gardens. The underground car park and the access to and from it is very well designed and has the added benefit of cars being cool whilst parked.
Visited Saint Marys Cathedral Church in evening 7pm and morning 11am. Atmosphere in evening time is very nice compared to morning time. I have not went inside the church due my time limitation. Loved the architecture of the church.
Went 8am weekday mass. Beautiful stained glass.
St Marys Cathedral is quite a historic place to visit and its beautiful architecture makes it picture perfect. They have daily guided tours (for a fewthat help explain the many things you can see inside. Its located on top of a hill which makes you feel a bit closer to heaven. π
Attended a sung mass there on our 2000 visit with my late husband so I did the same this time but sadly without him by my side. Maybe he was with me in spirit.
Went to 11.00am mass on Sunday. I like the ambiance and the bookstore. They have guided tours for tourist as well. Check on their website for information. There is bus stop nearby, I think yellow cat bus stop there.
This is kind of a strange looking cathedral because different parts of it were built at different times, so the styles of architecture at different stages dont really match each other. The side altars are classic and beautiful and the glass around the narthex make it feel more spacious. The pattern behind the main altar is nice but probably isnt what the original architect had in mind. The crypt beneath is very modern in style.
Beautiful! Free to go in. The new renovations fit in beautiful
Small yet beautiful and majestic cathedral.
Wonderful church with a mix of modern and Victorian styles of architecture. You can worship in the various grottos for private intentions. Mass and confession is held regularly.
A huge church built in the olden times that can serve your purpose any time during the week ,the congregation is always full and people are friendly the service is always fantastic well coordinated and short
Absolutely stunning cathedral with a Royal Perth Hospital and Mercedes College surrounding it. CAT bus service goes past here.Gorgeous architecture, green lawns, good amount of shade, and cozy.Very ethereal and lovely to quietly sit.
Really beautiful church, love to see inside but yet to do so. The grounds crew really maintain the grounds beautifully and with such precision
This is a very big and beautiful church Saint Marys Cathedral has always been a beautiful church, The Restoration of the old part of The Church has gone very well. I love to walk in the gardens the waterfall at the entrance of the church is also a newly added feature,is beautiful. Awesome architecture. Great mix between the historical and modern and a very friendly Priest. It is so lovely just to be in the cathedral.
This cathedral church is a piece of art at night. Itβs still beautiful in the daytime, but at night, it shines like the only church on the globe.
Saint Marys Cathedral has always been a beautiful church, though after extensive renovations and a Stunning Restoration of the old part of The Church... St Marys Cathedral is now possibly one of the most stunning churches in Perth.... The gardens are spectacular, a waterfall feature at the entrance of the church is also a newly added feature, as is the well planned & thought out underground & above parking bays. When you consider the location is right in front of one of the busiest Emergency & Trauma Departments at Royal Perth Hospital. Parking was always a problem in the past, especially if youre attending a wedding. Its also known for its popularity for weddings. The interior is stunning, you can see the large open windows that were added during the renovations along with the old & new parts of the Cathedral in the photos Ive uploaded. Highly recommended for a visit, the lawns are always scattered with individuals enjoying lunch... A lot of the patients from RPH also sit in the gardens & enjoy the sunshine. The City of Perth Planning Commission actually got it right this time...!!
A quiet and peaceful place to reflect upon Gods goodness.
Beautiful place to pray and to know. The Cathedral has a small shop and offers Mass services at very convenient hours during the day.
This place is always lovely.Has a peaceful and holy vibe to it thats not sarcasm by the way or pun intended. The building is architecturally lovely. They have made a symphony of modern day art and old world beauty. The gardens reflect this and enhance while softening the hard lines.Great place to lay on the grass.
The building structure is beautiful. Nice and quiet environment. Definitely worth the visitFrom Singapore
I noticed the spires as I was walking from Queens Gardens to the CBD. I came by the hospital side so was able to walk around to the front passing the memorial on the side. It was a nice church and was surprised they had a mass around 12.30. Didnt go in because of this. Nice architecture and the front looked nice.
Quiet and serene place to pray.Crypt is located below the church. It has both open and covered parking space for the parishioners convenience.
Huge cathedral with combination of historic and modern built. Great place to pray.
A great place to hang out with your favour deity...or just take selfies in the spectacular grounds.
Very calming presence in the church. The priests are friendly. Lots of history behind this church. The past bishops are buried beneath the church. The music choir is excellent.
Truly beautiful building utterly destroyed by the modern glass and concrete extensions. It couldnt have looked any worse if theyd added a uPVC conservatory. Hideous modernisation, the architect should hang their head in shame, as should the bishop who accepted it.
