Saigon Kingdom Vietnamese Restaurant in Queenstown
Description
Privilege
Incredible meal and awesome value! The service was also of the highest standard. My wife cannot eat gluten and they could not have been more helpful to us. We dined in one night and thought it was so good, we orders takeaway for the next night!Highly recommend this restaurant! Thank you for the great meal and experience.
MoreThe best Vietnamese food we have had to date!Highly recommend their chilli calamari and tiger prawn skewers.
MoreFamilies beware don’t book here. Booked my family of 5 showed at the time allocated and was advised our table was given away. Now have to sort out 3 hungry kids. Avoid at all costs
MoreThe food was good but the service slowFood arrived before the first bottle of wine and the second bottle when they were ordered first thingI have found service seriously lacking
MoreFood was ok, spring rolls were delicious, satay noodles were ok once we added seasoning. The grilled chicken thigh was very disappointing, dry & just a chicken thigh on a bed of lettuce, Wouldve been nicer in a sauce with seasonal vegetables... drinks were good but all & all I probably wouldnt return.
MoreOK dining experience. The beef wasn’t as good as I had expected, but the spring rolls were good. There was no wait but the food took forever to come
MoreWe’ve been here twice now, and it has been excellent both times! Highly recommend the pho bo, very authentic, and the Saigon noodles are excellent! The only disappointment (and not their faultis no Vietnamese beer - due to shipping issues. Very friendly staff, highly recommend a visit here!
MoreBeing a Vietnamese myself, I don’t think this restaurant is very authentic Vietnamese, but being one of the only 2 Vietnamese restaurants in town, it’s acceptable. The flavour is there.
MoreI visited twice with a group and we shared multiple dishes both times. And everything was absolutely awesome both times, agreed by all. Kudos to the staff given how busy they were and how understaffed everywhere is right now.
MoreCheerful enough but lacking in spice or chili. Sauces just very sweet. I had pork chop with fried egg which was served and a miserable bed (of now cookedshredded lettuce. Drinks were good and staff friendly. Fine for a very watered down experience
MoreThe staff was so lovely and made room for us even though they were very busy. The food and drinks came out quickly. It was very yum and the atmosphere was cozy and relaxing!
MoreI only had one dish so perhaps Im not the best judge....The food was actually quite good but the inflated Queenstown prices for everything combined with the small portion of this place left two stars on the table :/ I had the bun cha and it was delicious. There was one waitress that was basically running the entire joint and the rest of the staff looked confused haha worth going to still... But manage expectations in portion size compared to other Viet places
MoreMy favourite place for dinner or takeaways in town. The tofu starter is great, love the lemongrass chicken and any of the soups.
MoreTo be honest, I was so looking forward to eat their PHO but turned out to be very disappointing experience due to the disorganized service. We came in dinner with bunch of friends and served with a wrong dish and get blamed for "half our fualt" by the waitress and took back the dish. Also charged us for a meal that we ordered but never served! It is our first time here and we all thought it was order by other friends. Totally disapointing communication as it could be better in explaining the mistake instead ofblame customers, in that case we would understand and being nice share the loss, but not paying for a wrongly accusing! (Not all staffs are rude though, some of them are friendly and helpful!)
MoreLiving around large Vietnamese community in California, we like to think we know good Vietnamese food. This place rate right at the top. Perfect for chilly Queenstown air.
MoreA nice restaurant with a good and warm ambience setting. The best part is that they serve various liquor and wine to accompany your dinner, although not too fancy. Ultimately, its a great dining place for money value located near to the crowd centre.
MoreGreat service, super busy when we arrived, we were expecting some good Vietnamese food but the food was average for what we paid for because I could cook better at home. Im very sorry but Bun Cha is actually Bun Thit Nuong, and the pork wasnt nice, Nuoc Cham was wrong for Bun Cha as well. For the Shaking beef, beef wasnt seasoned enough, and were soaked in a tomato-based sauce. The tofu was the only thing was good. The service was very attentive and friendly though!
MoreFood was good and the lunch combo is good value. It seemed like they were a bit short staffed or it could be me walked in at an unlucky time. They were very busy and I waited 20 minutes but no one was taking my order. All staff were super busy. I had to do some self service myself. To be honest, the staff were very nice and friendly when it wasn’t that busy.
MorePho and laksa broths both way too sweet. Pho also missing basil. Service is good though.
MoreJust as good as their other branch at remarkable park. Their service is impeccable and we ordered pho, grilled prawns and lemongrass chicken with kale. Every dish was delicious! Will be back again for sure.
MoreDelicious food, Lovey atmosphere 😍
Mmm just what the food man ordered. Loved the food here, very good service and the girls are very thorough and tables are always cleaned after every customer. Recommend
MoreThe pancake was crisp, filling, and love the pickled veg on the side. The pho is great anytime, but so good for a cold and wet day!
MoreLoved this place so much that we came back 3 days in a row. The $17 lunch special is really good value, broth is to die for. Great drink selection and attentive friendly staff.
MoreIf you are cold and want hot, really good pho, pls go here!! The pho broth was really delicious, and good serving of meat (Also felt healthy after days of burgers). The fried spring roll entree was super tasty too :)
MoreThe staffs are very helpful. The foods are delicious. Always packed with custoners. Make sure you made reservation or you might can’t get seats.
MoreWe had Saigon kingdom for 2days during our 5-day trip . Enjoy it a lot .
Been here a few times for lunch, and now one of my go-to lunch places in Queenstown. The staff are friendly and ever helpful to everyone who walks in. Excellent pho, about as good as any in NZ. The stock is critical, and theyve got that right, with a good balance of flavours. Pho Bo (beef phois the best, in my opinion. The sliced beef is tender and delicious. Ask for the fresh beansprouts and coriander to add to your noodles. If youre hungry, ask for an upsize to your noodles, for just $2 extra, which to me is good value. If you like punishment from hot chillies, ask for some fresh cut chillies. For something a little unusual, try their Vietnamese coffee (see photo). Its not just a gimmick, the coffee has a distinctly Asian flavour and had been roasted the way they like it in South East Asia, which is to nuke it super dark. If you dont like coffee thats 15/15 dark, this might not suit you, although Im a coffee addict who likes slightly darker roasts, so I liked their coffee, which Id describe as dark and different. It comes with condensed milk at the bottom, stir it or leave it, your choice. Recommend the lunch "set", which is prawn crackers, mains/pho and coffee - excellent value at $17 (+$2 to upsize). By the way, they also sell bubble milk tea next door, the "pearls" were the perfect chewy texture, but a little sweet for me, though not objectionably so. The tea is unusual, and tastes like it was made from Vietnamese tea leaves, although I didnt turn back to ask. Dont expect it to taste like either green tea or English breakfast tea, but its nice in a different way.
MoreExcellent restaurant with a few vegan options. I tried the Vegan Noodle Soup (which is basically a vegetarian Pho with tofu), and it came packed with veggies and full of flavour. Also tried the Vegan Coconut Milk Curry (had to add a small bowl of jasmine riceand again, it was really tasty. The service has also been very attentive and the atmosphere of the location is great. The restaurant seems to have some special offers at lunch time.I would definitely come back :)
MoreMy partner and I came here for lunch. It was delicious and we were very happy! The restaurant was very aesthetic and the staff were so kind and lovely 😊 I would 100% come back here again next time I visit Queenstown!
MoreThe food arrived quickly and was deliciously tasty, the salt and pepper calamari with a hint of chili was exceptional. Loved the decor and the staff are very friendly and helpful.
MoreI have tried many Vietnamese restaurants before and I must say that this is one of the best. Try their Pho Bo and you will agree with me!
MoreVietnamese restaurant in Steamer Wharf. It can be quite busy at dinner time, however you can book easily on their website beforehand. Delicious Beef Pho and Chicken Laksa. Please note that they do explain to you that the prices you see on the menu is for the small white bowl and you can extra for the large and extra large
MoreDefinitely worth trying. Pork springs rolls were really good. Too much onion in my Saigon noodles. Almost filled a quarter of my bowl. Pho broth is very tasty, beef was pretty good. Just missing the side dish of lemon herbs and beansprouts to make it perfect.
MoreAmazing food. Very tasty. All plates DF and labels for GF, V and 🌶. I will definitely come back.
MoreHighly recommended Vietnamese restaurant when it comes to travelling to Queenstown. I had Vegan noodle soup that came with fresh seasonal vegetables, soft tofu and yummy soup. Honestly, I did think that I made a good decision. Besides, I ordered some Vegan spring rolls for my starter, its nice also. The restaurant was opening through Christmas.
MoreI literally regret not knowing this restaurant earlier! Everything is cooked to perfection! The Phở and the spicy beef salad (well if you appreciate a bit of spice 🔥are simply divine! My personal no.1 in QTS now!
MoreEcstatic to find authentic Vietnamese food in Queenstown. After leaving VN 🇻🇳 a few months ago, we had our first bowl of pho at this restaurant. It didn’t disappoint! The decor, the vibe, the taste of the food and the hospitality.. every little detail remind us of Saigon. The staff are friendly and we learned that the chef is indeed, from Vietnam. Can’t wait to come back for the Bun Cha and Vietnamese coffee. Highly recommended.
MoreThe food tasted so beautiful, the staff were so friendly and the place was full. Will go there again for sure.
MoreThis place was recommended by the backpackers we stayed at and were glad we went! Nothing like a delicious bowl of pho on a freezing winters day. The $15 lunch deal was great. The Vietnamese coffee was a treat too!
MoreWay better food than I expected considering it was relatively easy to find seats for a group of 5 people, during ski season, and around 7pm. The serving size of the pho is on the smaller side but tastes good. I think its a bit of a modern or western twist but tastes good. Really glad they had a good vegan section too, would recommend the vegan curry.
MoreGreat vietnamese food at really reasonable price for queenstown! Decoration in the restaurant is very nice
MoreVegan menu available featuring more than 5 options, vegan noodles taste alright. Partner had the $15 lunch combo chicken pho and said it taste nice.
MoreAmazing food, great portions, full of flavor. Definitely one of my favorites in Queenstown.Great $15 lunch deal! :)
MoreI would say this is the best Vietnamese restuarant I have been. It was soooooo good to have beef noodle soup & Seafood Laksa & spring roll & coffee. Especially the beef noodle soup was amazing! We will go back to have the soup before I leave Queenstown😁Nice staffs & busy restaurant.
MoreI love the design of the store, the artsy wall and details, the beautiful bowls on the table, the bamboos and the lighting too. Staffs were friendly and fast. I tried Pho Bo (beefand Chicken Pho, both of the broth were light and nice, not so much cilantro in it but not a problem. The superb one was the Crispy tofu with Kale something (i forgot the exact name of the dish), It was Amazing!!! Soo good, please try it if you visit this place.I also ordered (take awayfried rice for my 3yo daughter, she ate it at the hotel and loved it.
MoreSome tasty food here, always busy and plenty of variety. Friendly staff coupled with good service and tasty food. This place is definitely worth a visit.
MoreWe were really happy to have a bowl of heartwarming noodles, after 5 days without Asian food. Service was good and food were served promptly. The pho was delicious and suggest you to top up $4.5 for x-large size. Fried noodles were tasty and would be good with more noodles too.
MoreFood was good and the place was so nice and cosy and smelt like good homey food. My only critique if ever is on food portion being quite small for its price. Paid approx $15 each for the meals pictured below. Still loved it nonetheless. X
MoreStopped by for dinner and had a huge group so we split into two tables. Our table ended up ordering a whole lot of different stuff to share. We ordered a couple of different things from the menu but my favourite was the grilled tiger prawns. The prawns were cooked nicely and was just so easy to eat. The curry had nice flavour and the whole deep fried fish was also quite tasty. I personally thought the portions werent the biggest.Service was friendly.
